This was my second time at Senior salsa and they did not disappoint. I love their chips and salsa and their food portions were enough to feed our table of three. I got the Al pastor tacos and my niece got the carne asada. They were both flavorful and delicious. We had enough to take home and shared with others. It was my boyfriend's first time trying Chimichangas and he loved it. It seemed like they were short staffed by the looks of it but our server never made us felt abandon at all. He constantly checked on us and his other tables. The first time i went i got their margaritas which were great and huge sizes. The price was great and atmosphere was relaxed. I've been wanting to try this spot for a while. I've been told it's better than Las Mar. I'm not gona down another establishment but goodness gracious my dish was Delicious! I'll definitely return. My only issues was after being seated it took over 10min just for someone to come to my table to get water. I get it was busy so I let it slide. Also the margarita on the rocks wasn't good. Senor Salsa is a good, standard Mexican food restaurant. I would recommend stopping by. We had the carnitas and the taco bowl. The taco bowl (vegetarian) being the better of the two - came full with all the standard ingredients. The rice was fluffy and spiced, and the beans were good (they add cheese). The meat, however, for the carnitas needed sauce. Traditionally you'll get a lime, or salsa, sometimes guac or white sauce - but without any sauce the dish was just too dry. A good Mexican restaurant with quick service, friendly staff, and good food and drinks. We had 3 different margaritas- Gold on ice, Sangria & Chambord- both frozen, and they were all tasty. The guacamole came out in a plastic container but was fresh. The salsa was solid, not spicy at all. And the meals were perfect sized with beans and rice. The enchiladas were covered in chili, and it was very good and not too spicy, I didn't have leftovers. The chimichanga plate came with 2 smaller changas instead of 1 huge one, so the 2nd made great leftovers. We had the fried ice cream for dessert, and it was perfect for sharing and flavorful! Lastly, even if you've ordered close to $100 worth of take out, you will only receive a small bag of chips and even smaller container of salsa - yes, to share among your 5 adult dinner meals. So might as well plan on dropping more $ on a separate order of chips and salsa. Unless, you want all 5 people double dipping into a 4 ounce container of salsa, after rationing 4 chips per person. I am visiting Abington. I was told there were no good Mexican Food restaurants in Philly. I am from Cali by way of Texas. So I am pretty particular about Tex Mex and Baja. Went for a ladies outdoor dinner this past Thursday. I hate that I can't remember the exact name of what I had, but it was kind of like a shrimp taco just not in a shell and instead on a plate. It was very tasty and they put a lot of shrimp, which was a very pleasant and welcomed surprise. The weather was perfect for outdoor seating. I would caution that if you drive parking does get taken up. The restaurant is right across from Abington hospital, we noticed a lot of hospital staff in scrubs. Our waitress was attentive and kept us up to date on when our items would be coming out. Food was very good. I remember going to Senor Salsa back when I was in high school and it being sooo yummy. However, my bf and I went this past weekend and it was not at all what I remember it being. The food just did not taste good or have much flavor. We started with the chips/salsa which is complimentary and also got queso. For appetizers, we got beef empanadas which were probably the only flavorful dish we had. My bf got the chicken quesadilla which was overloaded with chicken and quite dry. I had the chicken burrito combo that didn't have much flavor in it at all. I had to ask for salt which is crazy because I never put excess salt on my food. Photographed (dim lighting so excuse the quality) are the complementary chips and salsa, yummy homemade guacamole, and chicken empanada! If you enjoy Las Margaritas, you'll like Señor Salsa. I've heard several times that both businesses are owned by the same people, which explains why the menus are identical to one another. We had called ahead and made a reservation for 12 tonight. Our party ended up only being 8 and they were able to accommodate us. Salsa and chips were immediately brought out to the table. The chips came out warm. They're not stingy with the chips. They brought out 3 generously portioned baskets of chips. We ordered table side guacamole (one spicy and one regular) and both were excellent. We also got a side of queso for those who didn't want to eat the guac. For my entree, I ordered my usual - a jumbo vegetarian quesadilla. Could've been a little bit cheesier but it was still great. I asked for a to-go box because it was a huge plate. My friend ordered Camarones a la Diabla. This is a spicy dish. It has rice mixed in with shrimp and lettuce. They cook the shrimp with the Diabla sauce but you can also ask for the sauce on the side and they'll give it to you. We skipped out on dessert, but I had a glass of sangria after my meal and it was good. Not sure if it's worth $6.50/glass but it was a tasty sangria. I also want to point out the service here. I'm really disappointed... I've been going to Senior Salsa since they opened and after tonight I'm not sure if I'll go back... and for a simplistic reason. We normally dine in, but due to circumstances, tonight we placed a to go order. My go to meal is Burro De Casa, which comes with Pico de Gallo and guacamole. I was told there that guacamole will not come with it, only in-house orders are getting it. Ok. I replied that my meal should be cheaper, but was told no it would cost the same. Now I'm not a cheap person, but when I take into consideration that Senior Salsa is already adding a $2 surcharge to every item on the menu on top of listed prices and I'm not getting everything that should be included, well, that's not cool. They're doing a great job during this pandemic. We've had it twice and both times was the pick-up instead of curbside so we could get margaritas to go. The margaritas are great, I highly recommend the strawberry. As far as food, I wasn't impressed with the enchiladas with mole sauce I got it even the tamales (i expected corn not with ground beef). The casa burrito and the al pastor tacos were both 10/10. In fact I was so disappointed with my mole meal last time that i almost passed on it as takeout tonight, but the al pastor tacos were their saving grace. Food was good, not great. Drinks were watered down. I am a light drinker, so the large margarita would typically have me tipsy after drinking an inch. I drank almost all of it and don't feel tipsy at all. My friends ordered daiquiris. We found out when the bill came they were non-alcoholic. They thought they were just weak drinks, but apparently zero alcohol. The waiter never asked and assumed non-alcohol. We took an Uber specifically because all of use were planning on drinking. This place reminds me of Las margaritas in NE Philly. I think they're owned by the same person because the menus seem identical. I ordered the chicken tortilla soup and pollo loco. The soup was lukewarm and was missing the tangy flavor. I wanted to ask for a lime because thats what normally comes with the soup but our waitress never came to back until I complained about something missing from my entree The pollo loco stated on the menu that it comes with chicken with lettuce, guacamole, and sour cream along with 2 sides. My platter was missing the lettuce, guacamole, and sour cream. Because I couldn't find our waitress, I had to tell another server the issue. He stated the entree either came with 2 sides OR the lettuce, guacamole, and sour cream. I had to show him the menu that said the platter says it comes "WITH" lettuce, guacamole, and sour cream. He still disagreed and said he'll talk to the server and come back. I was trying to take a picture of the menu and he snatched it away as I was taking the picture! He came back with lettuce and left with the menu. Service was bad and I wasn't too thrilled with the food. The best part of my food was the vegetables! I realized the server was also the bartender and serving other tables on the other side. 02/14/2020 I went here with a friend for dinner. Since it was Valentine's day, I was expecting a line up but we were seated fairly quickly. Since it was a Friday, there was a drinks special going on. Because of that, my friend and I both got regular margaritas. I also ordered the Tacos Carnitas as the main dish with a side of rice. The tacos were pretty good and definitely filling. The regular margarita was actually pretty big, pretty smooth and sweet. My family and I love Senor Salsa! I've never had a meal there that I didn't enjoy thoroughly. Ordering online for delivery has be okay. Sometimes it may be delayed and the food needs to be nuked but that's not the restaurants fault! It's still delicious. When ordering I make sure it's something that reheats well. The staff is always great! It is family friendly and the ambiance is relaxed and festive. As far as I'm concerned, it's a great local place to dine. Full disclosure I am actually sitting on a beach in Mexico so I feel my perception of the food at this place is relatively more accurate. I came here one evening after a call shift at Abington across the street. The cafeteria at A-ton is actually pretty decent compared to the one at my home institution but I'm not super keen on the lunch salad bar at 8:30pm. I ventured across Old York Road with a colleague to Senor Salsa. We've finally solved the mystery of why the chicken crossed the road. For fucking nachos, that's why. We were seated at the high tops near the bar. On this particular occasion there were a few beer specials. I took advantage of one of the special'ed beers, as did my companion. Mixed drinks are also abundant. Margaritas are served in a giant goblet. We were provided chips with two different salsas and ravenously ripped through them. I went straight for the vegetarian portion of the menu, impressed by its presence. Bc I'm "dieting", I ordered the vegetarian taco salad. My dining parter ordered tacos: chicken and I believe beef or some shit. Another impressive feature of this establishment is the speediness with which the food arrives. I had an early start the next morning and was not trying to waste any time. Impressive feature #3: they have valentina on every table. DROOOOOL. They also have a house hot sauce. My taco salad came in hot, plate contained within the waitress' grip. I slathered hot sauce over that bad boy and dove in. There's some lettuce, beans, sour cream, cheese probably, and tomatoes. I particularly remember the tomatoes as a matter of fact because they tasted weird. Otherwise, the taco salad was decent. I was starving to death so when I was finished, my plate resembled Sarajevo after the Bosnian war. I also, "wasn't going to eat the shell". LOL. It was fried and delicious. Dining companion stated that his tacos were spectacular and kept commenting on how "this was such a good choice". Mine was good by virtue of the fact that it had cheese, beans, sour cream, and hot sauce inside a taco shell aka fried carbs. I wouldn't say it was particularly Mexican or depicted distinctly "Mexican" flavors. Prices and service were good. I can't speak for the quality relative to other Mexican offerings in Abington, PA. I was at your restaurant on Sunday, I come often. The gentleman that takes food orders at the front, his name is LUCIO. He was extremely rude, and I had to come inside to order because he gave me a hard time over the phone and would not take my order. Today, LUCIO, did it again where he could not understand what a Shrimp Taco Salad was over the phone, so I had to go in and order it. When I arrived, LUCIO was texting on his phone, I asked for a menu, and he pointed to the bar. I walk back to where LUCIO was, and LUCIO was texting someone while I was standing there waiting for him to ask me what I wanted to order. I then said, "excuse me," and LUCIO told me to wait so he could finish his text. I asked for a manager and LUCIO said there wasn't a manager there and that they went to the store. I said I would wait, and LUCIO insisted he would not get a manager. I then asked the bartender, and the bartender did the same thing.
