Decided to come here after visiting a loved one in the hospital. We were seated right away but sat waiting for a menu until I noticed it was one of this that u had to use ur phone to look it up. We weren't told that before being seated nor would my mother had she come alone been able to figure that out. The food came quick but it was mediocre. Not much flavor for the tacos and the rice was too soft for me. Service wasn't great either. Close to the end of finishing her meal my mother finally received her drink after we asked twice and then it was the wrong drink. I thought communication was poor with just us, but There was an accident this night where a man passed out . He wound up knocking over some drinks. The staff came wiped the tables, which was fine. But the floor only paper towels, no mops used. No one told them what to clean so therefore a chair was just pushed back in and not wiped down. ( everything just stayed sticky) read more

This place is a little hidden gem. At first the service was really bad. We were not greeted for about 13 min and then it was like a switch the service was excellent! I ordered lunch fajitas and my wife ordered the chicken tacos. They were both AMAZING! We both looked st each other and said the rice and the beans which come on the side were the best we've ever had. Very well seasoned. The chicken in my fajita was fantastic! One complaint the salsa that comes with the chips was pretty watered down and could have had some more heat. They also charge you for refills on chips or salsa. We would definitely come back to this place- don't let the dumpy decor and outside appearance turn you off. Stopped in here for the first time last night. The parking lot was packed so I was hoping that would be a good indicator on how the food was. Once inside, we had to put our name on a list and were told it would be about a 30 minute wait. The hostess asked if we would wait in our call until called due to Covid. About 15 minutes later we were called and sat inside. Our server was helpful and prompt to the table. I ordered a chicken quesadilla and my friend ordered the hard beef tacos with rice & beans. The food was good, flavorful, and you definitely get a lot for your money. For anyone from Central NJ, it gives off a Jose Tejas vibe and pricing. I just don't get the reason for the overall 3 star review. In my opinion for a restaurant in it's category it is a 5 star. I always stop here when at the hospital. I have never had a bad meal or experience. The people are kind and friendly. Prices are so reasonable especially for the quantity and freshness. I ordered a salmon with lime dinner takeout tonight. It came with sides and I picked a salad and refried beans. A bag of chips and salsa too. So good. Everything was packed nicely and still warm when I ate it. I could not be more pleased. This is the brother restaurant to the Las Margaritas chain. The menus are literally the same and they have the exact AWESOMELY CHEAP lunch specials! The quesadilla lunch special which had TWO quesadillas was $5.99 and the pork chop lunch special was $7.50. Every time I have dined here or picked up takeout, I have always had a pleasant experience until today. I wanted nachos with everything that normally comes on nachos but without the meat. Instead of charging for that, I was charged for nachos with chicken minus the chicken & was charged for each individual topping that comes on nachos. It costed more than the menu price listed for "nachos with everything" This is absolutely ridiculous! Let me start with over the summer my mother and I came here and were being ignored by the manager and our server was slow, ignored us, took forever to take our order we couldn't even get a water & when we finally got our food it was horrible. We asked to speak to the manager he was so dismissive and literally pretended to be more concerned with watering plants than speaking to us. Fast forward a year later and we ordered takeout today. I ordered a beef quesadilla and my mom ordered ground beef tacos. I should've gone to chipotle or Qdoba. My quesadilla was an uncooked tortilla with a sloppy Joe's slob of Barely seasoned GREASY ground beef. They folded the tortilla, didn't grill or press the quesadilla at all, didn't even cut it. It had NOTHING on it but ground beef. No cheese no nothing. It was so wet from grease it fell apart immediately so I had a container full of ground beef and soggy tortilla. my mom had gelled up grease on her meat which let us know her food was once cold and half way reheated. We both threw our food out I cannot stand this place and I shouldn't have bothered coming back but I thought maybe a year later it would be ok. I stopped here for dinner last night on a recommendation on where to get a quick margarita while I was driving out that way. For people who live or work in that area, I can see that it is in a pretty prime location, directly across from Abington Hospital, right next to where all the shopping starts and not too far from the residential neighborhoods. So, the location is great for anyone in Abington. We were warmly greeted by the host who brought us to our table immediately, and before I could even open my menu, a server arrived with a warm bowl of nachos and and a separate bowl of salsa. They didn't skimp either - both were pretty deep. The strawberry margarita was delicious and also huge. I ordered the fried chicken chimichanga entree. Again, portion size was generous, but I thought it was a little bland. It wasn't terrible, it just seemed like the chicken wasn't as flavorful as I would expect. Our server was attentive at first but after we got our meal, she seemed to disappear for longer stretches of time and the restaurant didn't seem to be any more or less busy than when we got there. Which was fine at first, but we waited a little longer than I thought was necessary for the check. She promptly apologized upon taking care of us and made sure we had everything we needed or wanted otherwise. All in all, they excelled in some regards, fell short in others. We went to this restaurant and we had reservations. It was my sister's birthday. Again we had reservation and we still had to wait. When they finally sat us , it took awhile for someone to just take our order of drinks. The female server was very annoyed and not happy to serve. Again we waited for her to come back to take our food order. Again we waited about an hour for our food to be delivered. Once our food was delivered , the food was cold. I didn't eat my food. This place , ummm....It was decent. Not bad , just not great. My problems started right away. I came alone. (Do not pity me, my husband is working and I am quite antisocial.) The hostess sat me and I didn't meet my waiter for almost 15 mins. It happens. I could see he was annoyed at getting a table with one person. But he shouldn't be , I'm a customer who overtips. Let's just say I didn't feel the love when he was waiting on me. Maybe a touch of disdain for being alone and taking up his table. Overtipping aside, I also eat my food in under 10 minutes. Back when I was a server, this would've been my dream customer. Anyway , I ordered chicken enchiladas and a chicken taco. It was good, not the greatest. It was lukewarm, cheese wasn't completely melted and the chicken could've been shredded some more. Would I return ? Yes. There is a serious lack of Mexican restaurants in this area. If you do indulge ,their mucho margaritas are amazing .. not watered down and just the right amount of kick to enjoy.. I especially enjoy the mango. Their crab tacos are delicious which I was very glad as they were not filled with imitation crab meat . Also if you like a meal on the spicy side of the menu the diablo shrimp is sooooooo great but is hot ! So don't say I didn't warn you ! Nice family restaurant to go to ... even a great night for date night or just to grab some authentic Mexican cuisine. From the hostess/ hostesses to the waiters and waitresses always attentive and patient which I love never have I had to wave one down for service. Restaurant also has a small bar seating area in the front when you first enter and is not too packed or over barring ! If your in the area and like Mexican I would recommend you give them a try. I have never been with dissatisfaction or disappointment on my trips there. ( did I say we frequent a lot, must be good food huh ? This was my first time visiting Senor Salsa but it came highly recommended by the friend i was dining with. she is apparently a regular. from the outside, it definitely doesn't look like much. not very pleasing to the eye at all. but hey, you're eating the food, not the building, right? when we got inside, we were seated quickly. our server was prompt. we started with a drink order which came immediately. my friend chose a fajita which came with shrimp, chicken, steak, and scallops. i chose the pork chops with mole sauce and rice and beans. the food came quickly. the servings were on point. they give you a decent amount of food for the price. $15 for a main is average i think. the pork chops were super thin but extremely flavorful. my first gripe is the lighting. they have these multi-colored lights that make it VERY difficult to see the menu, your food, etc. i had a hard time determining whether my pork chops were bone in or tenderloins. my next gripe was the server. i asked him for extra napkins and a small plate for my nachos three times before he eventually brought them over. overall, not a bad experience. i would eat there again. read more

The chips and salsa are delicious, but don't like that you only get one basket regardless of how many people are in your party before you have to pay to get more. The food was good and delivery was always within a reasonable time. My only complaint is that the menu has empanadas listed with the plural s in there. And if you wanted more chips and salsa it was an extra charge. The waiter we had must have had a bad day or just didn't want to be there because he was very unfriendly. I realize English is not his first language, but that's no excuse for being unfriendly. When asked if we could substitute a fish taco for a beef taco in the kids meal, the answer was a flat no. I can't remember getting that answer at a restaurant for such a simple request. We would've accepted an extra charge, but it's a good thing since the fish taco my wife ordered had no taste. Four stars for Senor Salsa? Surprises me, too. Initially excited by a Mexican restaurant nearby, our first few visits were terribly disappointing. But maybe others were complaining and someone listened. The food is actually pretty good now, to the point where we're ok going there when we have that need and are in that neighborhood. The NOISE is another thing, though. I almost ordered two chicken flautas last time just so I could stick them in my ears. It's nearly unbearable and is one of the restaurants on my mental list of my unwritten project: "Why Are Some Restaurants Unbearably Loud While Others Are Library Quiet?" The chicken empanadas are apparently a permanent offering but not always advertised. Two come with the order and as an appetizer, they are wonderful and huge when not overcooked, as can happen sometimes. I certainly never walk out hungry. I lived in Houston for six nightmarish years. But this isn't the time or place to get into that. I will say this. During that nightmare of unspeakable horror, I developed a taste for Tex-Mex cuisine. Senor Salsa delivers the goods, y'all. We love this place so much, we returned three times in one month. I am so obsessed with their jumbo shrimp tacos and that special orange sauce they serve on the side, I order it every time. (And between visits to Senor Salsa, I find myself dreaming about those shrimp tacos. I almost crashed my car once, imagining a long romantic walk on the beach with my beloved shrimp tacos. ((What's in that orange sauce, anyway? Paradise. And maybe crack.))) Our last visit was on a Sunday night. The place was packed, yet we were seated promptly and the food came lighting fast! I don't know how they do it, but the service is consistently excellent and the quality food tastes fresh and well-prepared and the prices are reasonable.
