Best green Chile in Denver! Yup, I said it. Nice family style Mexican restaurant. Always greeted with chips and salsa upon seating. They do have a solid buy one get one free happy hour specials for that nice boozy fun. Comes with a nice hangover. But I've been going her now for the last few years. Food quality is always the same. You and your friends will get full for less than $15 per person. We always get Rics chimichangas and usually try one of the other combination choices. The Mexican atmosphere is wonderful. The only bad thing is the food. I don't know where these raving reviews are coming from. Not real Mexican food in any way, shape or form or taste. The salsa is a can opened and no flavor whatsoever. The combination plate ordered was not like any combo i ever ordered anywhere. Great food, stellar service and taking COVID precautions, they have you sign in before being seated and you're more like 12 feet apart from other customers rather than the required 6 feet. Have dined here twice since covid started and felt safe both times, they also have QR code to scan so you can read menu on your phone. I've had their fish tacos and their fajitas, both are wonderful. Be warned the portions are large :) Love supporting this business and their margaritas are great too! read more

But, when I go to a Mexican restaurant I want spicy, or at least somewhat spicy, salsa, great margaritas, and superb food. Señor Ric's missed all the marks. The chili rellano's are by far the best I have ever, and I mean EVER had. Everyone in our party now looks forward to going to Senor Ric's every year! They also have a sampler appetizer that you can easily sub for a meal for two, that is amazing! This is my Mother's favorite Mexican restaurant. I have a special love of this place because of her. Senor Ric's is not authentic Mexican food, I would compare it more to Tex-Mex. The Ric's platter is must, it's a good small sampling of what they do, the Pollo Magnifico is very unique. The hot wings are by far my favorite! I love all things spicy and this includes hot wings. Admittedly I expected the hot wings here to be the standard fried and tossed in Franks Buffalo Sauce. They are far from it and are so good. I got the raspberry frozen margarita and it was tasty! I then did the combination of 3 things, and got a chicken enchilada, pork enchilada, and pork tamale. I was actually impressed by the service & food flavor. I honestly expected them to be bland or "Americanized" but it was full of flavor. The locale has a colorful decor and great waitresses- especially Jannelle who served us. We did not wait long for our food or our drinks. The only suggestion I have is on the fajitas they had to many onions over shadowing the protein but I have to admit they were perfectly sautéed and tasted great (just cut down on amount of onions). I've read the other reviews and I honestly do not understand the negative ones as to be honest this was probably the 2nd best Mexican food I've had in CO. Been coming here since I moved here to Colorado in 89. It's one of the last good restaurants in aurora. All the other places has closed around them, I guess it's a great sign. The food was good, had the Colo player with a chicken burrito, tamale and taco. The taco shell came out soaked so it fell Apart when I tried to eat it. Not too bad of a meal. The Pollo Magnifico takes tender chicken and encases it in a deep-fried (I can hear your lips watering from here!) shell, then tops the lot with cream and melted cheeses. The first impression is that its a huge space with super dated decor. There were lovely live plants all over the restaurant, that part was pretty impressive! The restaurant was clean. The waitress however, didn't seem to be. She has food all over her shirt and smelled like smoke. Not the best way to represent the kitchen! We also had to wait literally about 20 minutes until anyone even noticed us. There seemed to be a ton of staff but, I think we were interrupting their conversations and texting. The happy hour menu is a joke. There is ONE margarita available and it is buy one, get one free. We ordered them and GOT THEM BOTH AT THE SAME TIME! So, we tried to drink the first one as fast as we could.....who likes watered down tequila? I guess if your water glass didn't get filled as much as it didn't here...anything liquid would help.
