Bartlett teachers, staff, students, and parents are all wonderful. Everyone works together to create a great elementary school experience.

The staff play the favorite game and all the teachers have their own way of doing things. You need to donate and volunteer just for the staff to be NICE! I have no problem donating but it's a manipulative way how they run Vanderburg. Also, if you have a problem the school asks you to take it to the teacher when you do you can expect to experience what I experienced from the teacher turning into a BULLY! The teacher became defensive and started treating my child negatively!! Plus, turning on me! And when I sent an email to the principal w/concerns the principal printed it out, showed the teacher and they turned against me and made me feel like I was the problem not them! They are BULLIES!! They do not like parents speaking up or addressing their concerns or trying to advocate for your child. At the end of they year, you fill out a request for a teacher and the school NEVER honors your request! I know they sit around and discuss who goes where because I had another teacher inform me of this process. I highly suggest to do your homework w/schooling for your children because Vanderburg is definitely not the best or even decent!! ~GOOD LUCK

This school is supposed to be one of the top schools in vegas however they don't care one bit about…read morethe well being of their children. My 3rd grade son has been bullied since day one of 3rd grade, actually, since 2nd grade by the same child, as well as others. I contact the teacher regularly and she has told me that he's met with the counselors and principal and issues are resolved. Why is my son coming home daily begging to be homeschooled and crying because of another mean child? I have not once been called by anyone at the school regarding my sons behavior. If he is involved in any form of bullying, I want to know! I stopped in the office today to talk and raised my voice to show the importance of this issue to me and the vice principal and principal kicked me out, not caring to hear anything about what's going on. This is why children kill themselves....BECAUSE THEY CARE MORE ABOUT THE RAINFOREST AND TEST SCORES THAN THE WELL BEING OF THE CHILDREN!!!! Last week a child told him their life would be better if he were dead! I've told the teacher in an email and a very long phone conversation that my child is dealing with a death in the family and the separation of his parents so he's going through a lot. Nothing is being done! This school has become a nightmare.

This school has several serious concerns that affect both academics and overall school management…read more There are significant gaps in core education, including the lack of a dedicated art teacher and no proper science room or consistent science instruction. These missing resources limit students' learning in important subjects. There are also concerns about staffing quality, as many teachers do not appear to have relevant degrees, which raises questions about academic support and instruction quality. In addition, there are ongoing concerns about leadership and school administration. Many parents feel the school would benefit from stronger, more transparent, and more effective leadership to better support students, staff, and academic programs. The GATE program has also raised concerns about fairness and transparency in student selection, with questions about how consistently the process is communicated and applied. There are also concerns about resource allocation, including spending on a garden in Las Vegas, which some families feel is not a priority compared to essential academic needs like Science and Arts programs. The Harvest Festival has also raised questions among parents about transparency in how winners are selected, and clearer guidelines would help ensure fairness and trust. the school would benefit from NEW stronger leadership, improved academic resources, better-qualified staffing, and more transparent systems to ensure fairness and better outcomes for all students.

He was pushed into the stall and placed in a headlock in the bathroom by another child, he was kicked in his "private" parts during early childcare, he was punched in his "privates" during lunch, he had a basketball thrown at his head at recess, and had his chair pulled out from under him when standing to ask a question in his class. He's not perfect! They never notified us of any of the above incidents. Does he have aggression issues. Yes. At time. Because of the environment they allow on this campus. They can call him a liar, or note he has aggression issues, but if your child is younger and struggles with emotional control this is not the place to be. I should have noticed it earlier. Between the teacher turn over rate-suspicious-, the lack of discipline, lack of timely notification when your child does something wrong, and lack of notifying parents of trauma to the head and "private parts," I would not recommend. They have no real counselors. If you're not from money, all other parents and students treat you like dirt. My son was called trash and poor. Kind of hard for a second grader to process. Keep your kids away. It's just a bunch of drama.

From our very first tour with Ms. Brenda, we knew this school checked all the boxes we were looking for. She was reading words at just 3 years old, and the nurturing, structured environment helped her grow in so many ways. Any concerns we had during preschool were addressed promptly, and we always felt confident she was in great hands. However, our experience changed significantly once she transitioned into kindergarten. While the curriculum remains strong and academically focused, the environment felt much more rigid and less joyful. It is very one size fits all. We absolutely value education, but we also want our child to enjoy being a kid--through fun, creativity, and play. Another challenge has been the limited communication. Most interaction is restricted to quick exchanges at drop-off or pick-up, and calls are typically returned when the staff is available. There's little feedback unless you personally call and ask, so it's hard to know how your child is progressing until report cards are sent out. At times, important day-to-day situations involving our daughter weren't communicated to us. Lastly, we didn't always feel the school environment, particularly the front office, was the most welcoming. On a few occasions, I had to initiate conversations after being overlooked which left us feeling more like a number than part of a school community. Overall, the preschool experience was outstanding and gave our daughter a strong academic and social foundation. We're incredibly thankful for that time. Unfortunately, the transition into kindergarten didn't live up to the same standard. I hope this feedback helps other families make a choice that aligns with what they're looking for.
