I love on this school is layout and all the student decorations around the school. The students were great. They all were engaged in my presentation about saving money. This school is located in a nice area and I can't wait to go back.

I can't stand the school we moved to this area for this school. Being there for 3 years! I just…read morecan't take it any more but I'm forced to go here because I have 50/50 custody of our son and if you ever been to family court in Clark it's a joke! I have a son who is a late bloomer and I tried going to the principal and asking to hold back my son they refuse to do so and told me he has autism. My son is on the spectrum understandable but if he is function and sitting and focusing why is it a problem? The IEP sucks they don't acknowledge issues and my son gets bullied a lot in the self contained classroom he has gotten slapped, had a goose egg bump on his head from a toy being thrown and named called. They also let the kids have tablets! This year supposly they are blocking YouTube kids but haven't seen it yet! My son tells me he's so smart he gets done before anyone else and he think the class is too easy they only play dance sometimes do worksheets that are preschool! They passed him on to 3rd grade with out knowing all his ABCs and told me he was on a specific plan for the IEP and that he goes at his own pace! I brought in my BCA from proud moments Aba therapy because yes I have to go there too by court order. She saw the classroom and sat in the IEP she was not impressed and caught a lot of mistakes in the IEP hour sheets. The BCA suggest I switch schools I brought that letter to court with recommended schools and the judge said nope because my BCA said Pinecrest was fast paced which I couldn't explain to my judge because they don't let you speak unless you represent yourself which is automatically a no win against another attorney. So no school will dare write you personal letters on what you need far as a letter stating the IEP is transferable so the judge Dept Y laughed and threw the book at me and didn't care about the BCA emails! She didn't care to sworn me in either to tell her the BCA recommended tutoring and I put him in Kumon and held in back in Pinecrest enrollment but justice system here is again the biggest joke! Anyways going back to this school teacher is sweet but I feel not attentive as one should be how in 3 years do we struggle not knowing the ABC and my son can remember my phone number and my x husband New York phone number in a month from his ABA center! In the begining of this special needs education I asked to sit in or help out in the classroom they let me volunteer but against a wall not in the class room and told me they can't let me in the classroom. I wrote a letter to the state board with help of an advocate school attorney and magically they where going to let me in because you have rights a a parent to sit in for so many hours. But now just yesterday they tell me oh if you want to scheduale a visiting time for 30 mins and the principal will sit in with you , you can scheduale that. No thank you I know how it's runned this school. The ladies in the office are catty and you can feel this vibe coming off! They send your kid home when he's sick for no reason they hear a cough or a kid saying I don't feel good and they give me a call to pick him up but I actually don't mind this one because I teach him more at home in my opinion. Kids in his self contained special needs classroom have bullied my son or had behaviors that hurt my son and they just say oh well we documented it but that's all we can do. They won't graduate my son to regular gen ed class because he's so behind it sad because he's just falling more more more behind it's like they have a preschool regiment and he wants to learn so much but they won't push. It's basically daycare in the special needs. He's graduating his Aba therapy very soon and i find it this school is pushing him farther back. It's wild when I bought my home school rating was 9/10 now it's 7/10 it's going down.

This school is supposed to be one of the top schools in vegas however they don't care one bit about…read morethe well being of their children. My 3rd grade son has been bullied since day one of 3rd grade, actually, since 2nd grade by the same child, as well as others. I contact the teacher regularly and she has told me that he's met with the counselors and principal and issues are resolved. Why is my son coming home daily begging to be homeschooled and crying because of another mean child? I have not once been called by anyone at the school regarding my sons behavior. If he is involved in any form of bullying, I want to know! I stopped in the office today to talk and raised my voice to show the importance of this issue to me and the vice principal and principal kicked me out, not caring to hear anything about what's going on. This is why children kill themselves....BECAUSE THEY CARE MORE ABOUT THE RAINFOREST AND TEST SCORES THAN THE WELL BEING OF THE CHILDREN!!!! Last week a child told him their life would be better if he were dead! I've told the teacher in an email and a very long phone conversation that my child is dealing with a death in the family and the separation of his parents so he's going through a lot. Nothing is being done! This school has become a nightmare.

My daughter was very smart prior to moving here and this school didn't slow her down. She has continued to excel in reading, math, science and Physical education. She has taken after school activities such as piano, yoga and even fun activity clubs and loved every one of them. I was able to see my child from a public trail and was quickly spotted by the PE coach as she confronted me and confirmed with my daughter that she knew me. I was really happy that the teachers have that level of care for the kids to ensure I wasn't a creep. The PTO does amazing things with a lot of dedicated parents participating. My experience with the teachers thus far has been amazing. You get a chance to meet more of them at community events and fundraiser dinners the PTO creates. The traffic came back up for drop off. The principal and other teachers out in the parking lot trying to keep parents moving any methodical pace. There is a flow to the process to ensure all kids get dropped off quickly and in a safe manner. The crossing guards are always there and always have a children's safety as the number one priority from what I've seen. I'm also amazed how the people letting the children into the school in the morning seem to know nearly every single one of them. My child's experience has been great. We dedicate a lot of time at home with our children to help them learn that at school. It seems the teachers do the same which makes the school work very well for us and our level of involvement with the children. The ram run is an opportunity for the kids to run laps in the morning before school starts and a great opportunity to motivate them to stay more active. My daughter really liked this and over the course of the ram run duration from October to May, she ran over 60 mi with a couple laps each day. This is not required and starts about 15 minutes before the bell rings. SafeKey is offered before and after school. I have only used a before school option. I know this is a CCSD provided function and not a school function but I asked the SafeKey teachers how they manage a number of teachers versus students and they told me they provide the appropriate number of teachers for whatever children are signed up for the SafeKey that day. One afternoon, I watched children throwing rocks into the backyards of houses so long the trail. I didn't expect there to be enough SafeKey teachers to be able to watch every kid at all times since they are all playing in the large playground. I told the kids to stop and they did. I then went over to the school to talk to the SafeKey teachers and they address it immediately. I never saw any children throw rocks again. Overall I think the teachers of the school are very attentive from my experience. I think the pickup and drop off goes as efficiently as it can go since the school doesn't actually have a large parking lot for everybody to park. It seems like the PTO and staff are dedicated to provide the best environment they can provide. I am very happy that I chose to live in an area that is zoned for this highly rated school.

You want to get there early for a good parking spot, but there 2 neighborhoods from each side also have a walkway that's very accessible to park there and walk. I recommend parents to get involved in their kids' school if they want to bring change to it. My kids are happy there and any issues that have come up have been resolved by teachers and other staff. I hope to see more before and after school programs.. Any place will have room for improvement , but overall happy here. Nice parents and kids

This school has several serious concerns that affect both academics and overall school management…read more There are significant gaps in core education, including the lack of a dedicated art teacher and no proper science room or consistent science instruction. These missing resources limit students' learning in important subjects. There are also concerns about staffing quality, as many teachers do not appear to have relevant degrees, which raises questions about academic support and instruction quality. In addition, there are ongoing concerns about leadership and school administration. Many parents feel the school would benefit from stronger, more transparent, and more effective leadership to better support students, staff, and academic programs. The GATE program has also raised concerns about fairness and transparency in student selection, with questions about how consistently the process is communicated and applied. All PTO moms kids are in Gate program....() why ??? It's for gifted kids Not PTO moms kids that bad behavior and low grades... There are also concerns about resource allocation, including spending on a garden in Las Vegas, which some families feel is not a priority compared to essential academic needs like Science and Arts programs. The Harvest Festival has also raised questions among parents about transparency in how winners are selected, and clearer guidelines would help ensure fairness and trust. the school would benefit from NEW stronger leadership, improved academic resources, better-qualified staffing, and more transparent systems to ensure fairness and better outcomes for all students.

It's quite a change in his academic progress and his enthusiasm for school. He says Yayy every morning when I tell him what day it is, and that's school day. He started reading when he was four and a half. I don't have to ask him twice when it's reading time at home. Somehow Challenger got him to feel like he is having fun when he reads or works on the worksheets. He is able to explain to me errors he makes on his worksheets at school, and able to show me corrections. I am happy with his academic growth at this school. I like that the school entrance is locked at all time. You can't get to the front desk before you get approved to pass through the locked entrance There were couple times I had issues with admin. At first, I didn't know the school required uniform shirt and pants. I only ordered my son uniform shirts and went to buy him pants from a clothing store. One day he came home in someone else's pants with no note to explain why his pants were changed. When I called, that was when I was informed about the mandatory uniform. I was upset at how they made him change into different pants at school, and how they didn't have the courtesy to call me to work out the uniform issue. Another time was when I received a past due notice, and a warning of my son's school termination if the past due was not taken care of by so and so date. I was not made aware of the due. When I called the school to take care of the amount, I was told that it was from the one day that we picked him up late. Ms Brenda always calls me back in timely manner. For how happy my son is at this school, I can look past all the admin issues I have had.
