Overall school sucks. from the staff to the teaching. They don't offer any type of tutoring or help for the kids if they are struggling with their academics. They send u to online links to look up online to "help" your child with homework if they are struggling. Staff is BEYOND unfriendly and STUCKKK UP. From the moment I walked into Glenn Taylor Elementary, I was met with resistance. Not warmth, not welcome. No one even spoke to me I had to speak first. I was told bluntly by the front office staff that tours weren't allowed because "this isn't a private school." No explanation, no effort to ease my concerns. Just a wall. I asked to speak with the principal. Denied. No apology. No offer to connect later. Just a cold "you can talk to the special ed teacher, and that's it." Then came the special education teacher, repeating the same dismissive message with indifference. I brought up the troubling reviews I'd read, hoping for some reassurance or at least acknowledgment. Instead, I got a resigned "yeah," a head nod, and a sigh. As if they'd heard it all before and simply didn't care. Mind you these reviews range from racism, bullying, and neglect, to a horrifying allegation that a staff member's grandson left bruises on a Black child with zero accountability. I tried to voice what any parent would feel: How am I supposed to entrust my autistic child to a school I've never even walked through? Their response? No empathy, no understanding. Just an attitude of "it is what it is, take it or leave it." Many reviews also speak of parents being labeled as "hostile" simply for raising concerns. Their attitude towards me in the front office immediately made me think of those reviews. Had I pushed the issue further, asking again to speak to the principal, they likely would have relayed the message as me being hostile as well. This is the opposite of a safe, inclusive, or transparent environment. In every daycare and pre-K facility I've ever visited, a tour and a conversation were basic expectations. Here, it felt like they were actively hiding something. Given the serious allegations in public reviews, that possibility is terrifying. And that should alarm any parent. read more

The overall teaching quality appears low, and students are not given homework, which negatively affects their learning While my experiences with the teachers themselves have been positive--they are kind & supportive--it is clear they are unhappy, likely due to poor treatment from the administration. My son got food poisoning at school, almost died, no apologie was made. Security/safety is a big concern, most of the time, no text message to alert you if your kid doesn't make it to school The administration's interactions with both staff & parents are consistently unhelpful, complicated, and unfriendly The atmosphere they create is cold and unwelcoming. In particular, the principal, Tara, is extremely difficult to reach. She has not responded to important emails which demonstrates a lack of accountability & concern for parents or students alike Unfortunately, the school reflects this leadership style. This school has been the worst academic experience ever for my son. He was repeatedly punished for not being still even though he was in a special education program. He was bullied for an entire year and nobody moved a finger to put a stop to the situation.... even though I reported it several times. And the last straw was when his teacher SLAP HIM ON THE HAND and the Principal did anything about it since she said there were no witnesses.... my son was interviewed for 2 hrs and was very solid with his testimony and expressed he was afraid of his teacher and her unkind and diminished phrases towards other children and himself as well. BE AWARE OF THIS SCHOOL AND TEACHERS ... ESPECIALLY, IF YOU HAVE A NON-VERBAL KID WITH SPECIAL NEEDS. Teachers are very mean here! read more

This school, does not say the pledge of allegiance every morning. I would never send my child to a school that does not respect the flag of our country. How can you teach students anything without teaching them respect for their country and state? Sadly this is only one of many schools that does not do the pledge. read more

My son has gone here now going on 2 years. I feel its a good school...the teachers seem very knowledgeable and very friendly and caring. The office staff is nice and always helpful! I am very pleased with this school. Coming from a school I thought was above average I am surprised at how superior Glen Taylor is in every way. First, off, they actually give feedback daily on your child's progress, the teachers are friendly and accessible. The office staff is always happy to help and information is available in the form of pamphlets and flyers. The gate program is excellent as well and the 5th grade Pali trip really made my daughter's year. If I had one criticism, however, it is the lack of use of technology. Although they have computers available, they seem to only use them for testing. Also, the website is seriously lacking in updates especially teacher websites. I understand they are moving to a new webhost so I am anxiously awaiting everyone being up and running on the internet. Other than that, I am glad we didn't get our zone transfer to stay at Ober, Glen Taylor is much superior. read more
