Great academic performances for your little one. My sons been enrolled at this school for 2 years now and will continue to have him here for many more years. The teachers and staffs are great and super friendly

My son started at Challenger school over a year ago when he was four. He went to Montessori Visions Academy prior to that. It's quite a change in his academic progress and his enthusiasm for school. He says Yayy every morning when I tell him what day it is, and that's school day. He started reading when he was four and a half. I don't have to ask him twice when it's reading time at home. Somehow Challenger got him to feel like he is having fun when he reads or works on the worksheets. He is able to explain to me errors he makes on his worksheets at school, and able to show me corrections. I am happy with his academic growth at this school. I like that the school entrance is locked at all time. You can't get to the front desk before you get approved to pass through the locked entrance There were couple times I had issues with admin. At first, I didn't know the school required uniform shirt and pants. I only ordered my son uniform shirts and went to buy him pants from a clothing store. One day he came home in someone else's pants with no note to explain why his pants were changed. When I called, that was when I was informed about the mandatory uniform. I was upset at how they made him change into different pants at school, and how they didn't have the courtesy to call me to work out the uniform issue. Another time was when I received a past due notice, and a warning of my son's school termination if the past due was not taken care of by so and so date. I was not made aware of the due. When I called the school to take care of the amount, I was told that it was from the one day that we picked him up late. Ms Brenda always calls me back in timely manner. For how happy my son is at this school, I can look past all the admin issues I have had.

This is what the 4 year olds at challenger are learning I urge parents to investigate

I have learned very disturbing facts. In my 4 year olds class, they practice time out as a form of punishment for not following directions. My 4 year old did not use the color pink, instead used the color black to color her bunny. She was sent to timeout on what they call carpet time, and when she asked to pee Ms. Kayden said don't bother me. My child then held her pee then screamed out from agony emergency emergency which then she was allowed to use the restroom. After that she started crying and when Kayden asked her why the tears, my child said it was in response to her raising her voice. Kayden replied "are you kidding me!" My child was humiliated among her friends to be placed on the naughty carpet and observe the activity from a distance and when I spoke to Brenda she was passive aggressive, dismissive and said that the school is successful due to following all directions, and if I don't feel comfortable with their policy then I should just not send my child there. I was told even in art if a child does not follow correct color steps they then are sent to the carpet. My child was so disturbed by these emotions she couldn't sleep, she cried intensely and refused to go back to class as she said Kayden was mean to her and she felt alone and scared. Brenda told me the children have free will and they can use the bathroom anytime. As a 4 year old when placed on the naughty carpet, she did not know she had free will to exercise. Other alarming facts, they are learning about Christopher Columbus as a man who discovered America. I was also sent home a paper that read "I am fat" which the school said in response to my concerns that it is used for children to learn how to read. Apparently the meaning of sentences and the social culture of 2022 has no foundation in forming uplifting sentences for children as young as 4 to learn. I urge parents to speak to their children and find out what is really happening within these classes that are not made transparent to parents. The only reason I know what happened now is because my child is getting better at communicating and telling me what occurred. I hold both the school policy, Brenda for dismissal in my efforts to change punishment procedures renamed as carpet time and teacher Kayden for over exercising her authority in a classroom with a 4 year old child regarding colors that were selected in art

The teachers and staff were always caring, kind, and genuinely excited to see the kids. They also did such a great job making things fun. My girls still remember the foam parties, bounce houses, Trunk or Treat, Santa visits, and all the different taste-testing activities. There was always something special going on, and they made so many happy memories there. We always felt like our kids were safe, cared for, learning, and having fun. They entered kindergarten a step ahead and had an easy transition into elementary school. We are so thankful for our time at Coronado Prep and would definitely recommend it to other families.

They have become a second family. Mrs Jen and all the teachers have gone above and beyond my wildest dreams of a first school for my child. Mrs Corie has been incredible and from day one my daughter gravitated towards her. We have had Mrs Summer and Mrs Maria for two years now and they couldn't be better. They have been much more than teachers to us. We have gone thru some difficult times and their exact words to me I'll never forget were "we are your family now ".. This isn't just my daughter's school, this is a part of her young life that has helped mold her into a confident, bright and happy child. It's a school full of warmth and so much love. Sending my daughter to Coronado Prep Preschool was the best decision I could've made in not only her education, but in return we gained another family.. They are all INCREDIBLE.

They were there for first steps, bottle-to-cup transitions, and so many important milestones. The teachers truly care, and as a mom, that peace of mind is everything. We've been amazed at how much they've learned (not just academically but socially and emotionally as well). Our daughter has developed a love for art thanks to the creative and unique projects led by Ms Mummert. We are grateful for the care and patience to the toddler teachers (Ms. Elysa, & Ms. Kanae, Mrs. Ranieri). This past year, the new leadership team has made an already great school even better with more extracurricular activities and special guests. We are so grateful for our time at Merryhill and would highly recommend it to any family looking for a nurturing, engaging environment for their little one.

It's a stimulating and nurturing environment. Ms. Hohman & Mrs. Walker make us feel welcomed each day we get there. My son's teacher is Ms. Flynn - she is SO great (all I would hope for in a teacher for him). He is eager to learn, eager to share with me what he's learning and seems to be ahead of most kids his age with reading, writing & numbers. On top of that, I believe Merryhill has been a big part of his social development.

Ms. Tina is serious about running an amazing and safe school. No matter what the issue may be, we as parents are all informed as soon as she is. Ms. Jessica is her current teacher and I believe she has amazing patience and has taught my daughter so much. She is kind and works with each and every one of her kids to make sure they are happy and learning. I am always so grateful for morning drop offs (my little one doesn't always make it easy when i need to go) and when we get home, she shows me all that she has learned for that day. The other teacher I want to mention is Ms. Becca- she's pretty much my rock haha. She was one of the teachers that has been around my daughter the longest (or so it seems to me). She is able to match the tone of whatever mood mine is in and able to work with her. If she's having a bad day, Ms. Becca seems to always turn it around. I will miss this school once we move on to "big kid school" and will always have respect for these teachers that have helped my daughter grow and learn.

Childcare Nightmare…read more I'm going to keep this as straightforward as possible. I removed my child from this so-called daycare before he could even finish his prepaid week. If you want the full experience, please read on--this may save another parent time, money, and potentially their child's well-being. Over the four weeks my 5-year-old son attended this childcare/summer camp, I observed a clear disconnect between the front desk staff--who were kind and professional--and what actually happens in the back rooms. Unfortunately, it seems they hire unqualified, undertrained staff with no teaching credentials, and in many cases, little concern for the children. During the first week, I made two simple requests: do not refill my son's water bottle with sink water (as he won't drink it), and please keep me updated on his day. Neither request was followed. His water was not replaced with what I provided, and I received no updates. In the second week, my son was scratched across his face by another child. No incident report was filed. I only found out through his cousin who also attends the facility. By the third week, my son was kicked in his private area by an older child who should never have been grouped with 5-year-olds. Again, no report, no call. When I asked about it, I was told they were "still investigating." There was still no update going into the fourth week. On pickup during week four, I found my son visibly upset. He told me he wasn't allowed to use his tablet because he answered a math question incorrectly. Instead, he had to sit and watch other children use theirs. These are staff members with no teaching credentials, yet they are using punitive and inappropriate methods for learning. As a nurse, I understand that children learn differently--this approach is not only ineffective, it's discouraging. For $170 a week, my child had a miserable experience that resulted in emotional distress and even required doctor visits. No parent should have to deal with this. Please do your research before enrolling your child here.
