It's hard to put into words how much this school has meant to our family over the past few years. My daughter started here in 2023 when she was 2 years old, and as we prepare for kindergarten, I truly can't imagine a better place for her to have spent these important years. We don't call it daycare in our house--we call it school--because that's exactly what it is. The teachers don't just focus on academics. They also teach kindness, emotional regulation, confidence, independence, and problem-solving. Every day, my daughter came home having learned something new, and as she gets ready for kindergarten, I can confidently say she is more than prepared. Her growth is a direct reflection of the love, patience, and dedication of every teacher she's had. One of the greatest gifts this school has given us is a true sense of community. The kids all know one another, they know each other's families, and the parents have built friendships and a support system that extends well beyond the classroom. It truly feels like a village raising our children together, and that's something incredibly special. What's funny is that when I first toured the school in 2022 while looking for childcare for my daughter as a baby, I almost didn't choose it. I thought the infant classroom was too small and assumed a bigger facility would be better. We ended up enrolling somewhere else first. Looking back, I couldn't have been more wrong. After experiencing a much larger childcare center, we realized that bigger didn't mean better. There was less individualized attention, more accidents, and less oversight. Now I completely understand why those classrooms are designed the way they are. The smaller environment allows the teachers to truly know each child and provide the attention and care they deserve. I'm so thankful we eventually found our way back here. As we close this chapter, it's incredibly bittersweet. Thank you to every teacher and staff member who has loved, encouraged, and believed in my daughter. You've helped shape her into a kind, confident, curious little girl, and our family will always be grateful for everything you've done.

They were there for first steps, bottle-to-cup transitions, and so many important milestones. The teachers truly care, and as a mom, that peace of mind is everything. We've been amazed at how much they've learned (not just academically but socially and emotionally as well). Our daughter has developed a love for art thanks to the creative and unique projects led by Ms Mummert. We are grateful for the care and patience to the toddler teachers (Ms. Elysa, & Ms. Kanae, Mrs. Ranieri). This past year, the new leadership team has made an already great school even better with more extracurricular activities and special guests. We are so grateful for our time at Merryhill and would highly recommend it to any family looking for a nurturing, engaging environment for their little one.

It's a stimulating and nurturing environment. Ms. Hohman & Mrs. Walker make us feel welcomed each day we get there. My son's teacher is Ms. Flynn - she is SO great (all I would hope for in a teacher for him). He is eager to learn, eager to share with me what he's learning and seems to be ahead of most kids his age with reading, writing & numbers. On top of that, I believe Merryhill has been a big part of his social development.

Childcare Nightmare…read more I'm going to keep this as straightforward as possible. I removed my child from this so-called daycare before he could even finish his prepaid week. If you want the full experience, please read on--this may save another parent time, money, and potentially their child's well-being. Over the four weeks my 5-year-old son attended this childcare/summer camp, I observed a clear disconnect between the front desk staff--who were kind and professional--and what actually happens in the back rooms. Unfortunately, it seems they hire unqualified, undertrained staff with no teaching credentials, and in many cases, little concern for the children. During the first week, I made two simple requests: do not refill my son's water bottle with sink water (as he won't drink it), and please keep me updated on his day. Neither request was followed. His water was not replaced with what I provided, and I received no updates. In the second week, my son was scratched across his face by another child. No incident report was filed. I only found out through his cousin who also attends the facility. By the third week, my son was kicked in his private area by an older child who should never have been grouped with 5-year-olds. Again, no report, no call. When I asked about it, I was told they were "still investigating." There was still no update going into the fourth week. On pickup during week four, I found my son visibly upset. He told me he wasn't allowed to use his tablet because he answered a math question incorrectly. Instead, he had to sit and watch other children use theirs. These are staff members with no teaching credentials, yet they are using punitive and inappropriate methods for learning. As a nurse, I understand that children learn differently--this approach is not only ineffective, it's discouraging. For $170 a week, my child had a miserable experience that resulted in emotional distress and even required doctor visits. No parent should have to deal with this. Please do your research before enrolling your child here.

My Experience With KinderCare -- Please Read Before Enrolling…read more This establishment has honestly been one of the worst experiences I have had to deal with while becoming a mother and caring for my nephew. My mother was murdered on April 18th of this year, and I had to step in and obtain custody of my nephew. His biological mother also passed away on May 21st. During this extremely difficult time, I was dealing with grief, family responsibilities, foster/kinship licensing, classes, and trying to make sure my nephew was properly cared for. When I registered him with KinderCare, I specifically asked multiple times whether there would be a copay based on what the county subsidy voucher covered. I explained that my funds were extremely limited and that, if I had a copay I could not afford, I would need to find another childcare location. I was repeatedly told that there would be no copay and that the county subsidy would cover everything. Based on that information, I enrolled my nephew and continued using the center. Then, approximately a month and a half later, I was presented with a balance of around $1,000. I was extremely upset because I had specifically asked about this before enrolling and was told there was no amount I would have to pay. When I explained the situation to management and what I had been told when I signed up, I was told that the employee who enrolled me had not been properly trained and that the manager had not been there at the time. The site director eventually told me that the balance would be removed and gave me one week to find another school if I was not going to pay tuition. I followed those instructions and made arrangements to move my nephew to another childcare provider. Despite that, KinderCare continued keeping my child in their system and continued charging the account. I had difficulty getting anyone to return my calls, and eventually the communication I received was from a collection agency attempting to collect the balance. After months of dealing with this, the situation was finally resolved. But the amount of unnecessary stress this caused me and my nephew during an already devastating period of our lives was unacceptable. There were also concerns regarding how some staff handled my nephew's personal care. One teacher told me that she had been pulling his foreskin completely back while caring for him. I noticed that this was irritating him and causing redness. I researched the proper care of an uncircumcised child and became concerned that this was not appropriate. I immediately addressed the issue with the teacher and asked her to show me exactly what she had been doing so that we could make sure there was no misunderstanding. I clearly asked that she stop pulling his foreskin back. I also experienced situations that I felt added unnecessary emotional stress. There were comments and implications about whether my nephew should participate in Father's Day activities, which was especially hurtful given everything our family had recently experienced. There were also suggestions that I should bring additional food for my child, even though providing food had never been a problem. Overall, I felt that my family was not treated with the understanding or compassion that I would have expected, especially after explaining the circumstances surrounding my nephew and our family. I am sharing my experience because I believe parents and caregivers deserve to know what questions to ask before enrolling their children and should carefully review exactly what their childcare subsidy covers and whether there are any additional charges. If anyone has questions about my experience, you are more than welcome to contact me. And if you would like to support our family during this difficult time, you are also welcome to support our GoFundMe. I hope sharing my experience helps another family avoid going through the same situation.
