Childcare Nightmare I'm going to keep this as straightforward as possible. I removed my child from this so-called daycare before he could even finish his prepaid week. If you want the full experience, please read on--this may save another parent time, money, and potentially their child's well-being. Over the four weeks my 5-year-old son attended this childcare/summer camp, I observed a clear disconnect between the front desk staff--who were kind and professional--and what actually happens in the back rooms. Unfortunately, it seems they hire unqualified, undertrained staff with no teaching credentials, and in many cases, little concern for the children. During the first week, I made two simple requests: do not refill my son's water bottle with sink water (as he won't drink it), and please keep me updated on his day. Neither request was followed. His water was not replaced with what I provided, and I received no updates. In the second week, my son was scratched across his face by another child. No incident report was filed. I only found out through his cousin who also attends the facility. By the third week, my son was kicked in his private area by an older child who should never have been grouped with 5-year-olds. Again, no report, no call. When I asked about it, I was told they were "still investigating." There was still no update going into the fourth week. On pickup during week four, I found my son visibly upset. He told me he wasn't allowed to use his tablet because he answered a math question incorrectly. Instead, he had to sit and watch other children use theirs. These are staff members with no teaching credentials, yet they are using punitive and inappropriate methods for learning. As a nurse, I understand that children learn differently--this approach is not only ineffective, it's discouraging. For $170 a week, my child had a miserable experience that resulted in emotional distress and even required doctor visits. No parent should have to deal with this. I'm a flight attendant with a crazy busy schedule, so having a daycare that I could trust with my babies AND was flexible meant everything... especially for my peace of mind when I'm inflight. Cidney made the enrollment process so smooth and was incredibly professional and attentive to my concerns. She's a mother too and really the brightest star here! Julee is always smiling and welcoming which makes emotional early morning drop-offs less intense. Karen (School Director) went above and beyond by offering a substantial scholarship that made it possible to enroll both kids... thank you thank you thank you!! Also she's responsible for upgrading the kids menu making it super nutritious. Sage's teachers, Ms. Cindy and Ms. Molud, are so sweet, gentle, and nurturing. It honestly feels like I'm leaving my baby girl with family. I love reading the daily reports and all the cool stuff they are showing baby Sage how to make. Amari's teachers, Ms. Lince and Ms. Falisa, have been amazing! Their teaching style and potty-training approach align perfectly with how I parent, and the communication has been GREAT! We don't have family here in Vegas, but this daycare truly feels like our village. It's absolutely worth the drive across town because I know my kids are safe, loved on, and are mentally stimulated. I highly recommend Children's Learning Adventure... because out of the 7 day care centers I drive past to get to CLA... CLA beat them all on price, with the cleanest facilities, most nutritious meals, amazing outdoor play yard and fun break out rooms, and kindness/attentiveness shown to both the kids and parents. Honestly my wife and I can't say enough positive things about this school! We moved our infant to this school from another nearby and let me tell you what a difference! Our 15 month toddler old now sleeps at school (didn't at all before), is very social with other babies and kids and comes home full of happiness and smiles. Previously she would come home so exhausted that she wouldn't even make it to the car before passing out. Also, facilities matter! This place is huge and offers a ton for the kids as they advance in age :) Lastly, the people. This is the most important part. Ms. Katherine for Voyagers 5 is such an amazing teacher! My son went in with very little words and he has since exploded with words. He still has trouble expressing and speaking to new people but I was also shy as a kid. She works well with the speech therapists and behavior therapists that come to the school and help our littles. She listens and tries to implement what needs to be worked in. She is my son's favorite.... Our daughter has been going to CLA for over 3 years now, and although in the beginning it was a bit rough, and my husband and I were actually going to remove our daughter from the school completely. That was until we had a meeting with a director from the school who had told me they were going through a full revamp and wanted us to try and stick it out because she promised it was going to get better. And was right. My daughter had missed the cutoff for kindergarten, so she needed to be placed in the preschool class, and how lucky are we that we get to have Ms. Janet. Oh boy, Ms. Janet. Every person and every kid deserves someone like Ms. Janet. She is kind, she is VERY organized (which i appreciate) she loves each and every child and more importantly...she TEACHES THESE KIDS. My daughter went into her class barely knowing her letters, and now ONLY HALF WAY THROUGH THE YEAR, our daughter can now read site words and is recognizing letters and numbers and sounds of letters all over the place! My toddler, Kysen, has only been at CLA for about 4 months or so but we have yet to have a bad experience or complaint. This place is always so clean and everyone is always so kind. Kysen is in Ms. Katherine's class and he just adores her. She really is such an angel every time I see her. She is so very patient but also attentive with these little toddlers and it makes me feel he is safe in her care. He goes a couple of times a week and in the morning I will say "Are you ready to go see Ms. Katherine and play with friends?" and he excitedly says "Yes!". It is really cute. I'm thankful for the daily toddler reports he gets sent home with at the end of each day. Kysen's older brother, Carter, went to CLA 5 years ago and again, I never had any issues or complaints. My grandkids have been going to this school for about 4 years now and the last six months I have seen some wonderful improvements . It is so clean and everything is organized and put together . This is not a safe place for your child. Staff will come and go and unfortunately sometimes bad people end up getting hired to take care of the vulnerable. These things happen but it's how the management/admin/corporate team handles these things is truly what creates safety. My child repeatedly wet himself during nap time and the staff repeatedly rolled up his soaking wet nap mat. I would pick him up in the evening with his urine soaked clothing from nap time. A simple "I am sorry this happened and this is what we are doing to prevent this from happening to any child in the future" was all I wanted but things got swept under the rug, emails ignored and phone calls not returned. The pricing is only ok to be given such poor quality care for an innocent child. Very much a shame that the only good thing about this place is the decorations on the walls and a small handful of sweet staff members that are overworked due to management not appropriately dealing with poor work ethic leading to neglect of children. read more

This review is for Ms. Sheila and Ms. Stacy! These are two amazing teachers and the best I've seen with my children! I don't know if Ms. Brenda is still there but she was another teacher that was truly kind, gentle, patient with the children and treated them with respect as people. Ms. Sheila is always professional and genuinely loves these children as does Ms. Stacy! I love how understanding they are of the needs of my children and my requests as their parent. I've never had any issue with them as my children's teacher and I am able to go to work and focus knowing they are in great care. I have both of my children enrolled here and ever since they have been attending, they have been learning so many new things. They love going to school everyday. Marley has been excelling academically since she has been in E2 with Miss Darlene. Marley loves her teacher! Hendrix has had improvements in his behavior and listening skills since he's been in E4 with Miss Brenda & Miss Stacey. It has been such a breeze to work with the staff week after week. I find it offensive and very disappointing that you would trust and hire someone like that to take care of the children. We decided to enroll our son after visiting CLA on their Open Day. Our first impression was good and the place was clean and plenty of spacey rooms; we thought we would give it a try. Upon attending the Toddler - Voyagers 6, below what we observed: Pros: 1. As mentioned the place was clean, everyone seemed friendly and helpful. 2. We liked how quickly all the staffs at the front desk knew our son by name - on his first day. Cons: 1. We noticed the Caretakers were changing in the three weeks we sent our son there. We could be wrong, but we had a Caretaker ask if it was his first day when it was his third week. 2. Our Son was bitten on the arm and it was not reported to us. Coincidentally, this happened on the same day we gave our two weeks notice to cancel his enrollment. The caretakers didn't notice our son was bitten. The staff member Cidney Moran and director Ashlee Naehu emailed us saying they would investigate, but we did not hear anything back from them as expected. 3. We noticed our son and most kids there were not cheerful or happy every time were dropping off or picking up our son. The caretakers did not seem happy themselves and rather overwhelmed. We compared this to other preschools we visited. 4. Every time we went to pick up our son, his mouth and cheeks were dirty from lunch with food/sauce residue dried up on his cheek. This caused irritation and rashes on his cheek. 5. Other establishments in Henderson have gone paperless and provide parents live and timely information about the school's schedule and everything related to their child. CLA still uses paper and did not provide basic information like the menu for the week in a timely manner, etc. My two cents' worth: CLA is not what it seems. Parents should do more research about pre-school as there are a number of better ones in the vicinity (I have spoken to four and visited two currently). Thank you for reading. read more

I was very adamant to change daycares for my 4 children. I am so glad I did. We walk in and the women in the office are all smiles. I am a working mom and the transition has been so easy for my kiddos. Ms. Christina has helped our family tremendously. She is always a phone call away and never gets upset if I call too many times in the day to check on them. I can work without the mom guilt knowing my children are in good hands. My 11 year old is going to summer camp here and I ask her daily about the care she gets, and she has nothing but good things to say. The staff here are always helpful. I am so grateful for CLA! The teachers, and staff are very nice and polite here. The only trouble I've had is that they give my kids sugar without asking first, and I prefer not to pick up sugar hyped kids at the end of a long day. They leave a basket of suckers on the counter meaning the children see it, and beg for it the whole way out of the place. So you end up having to drag them kicking, or give in just to get them to the car. With dinner being the next stop on my trip I'd rather they just educate my kids and feed them healthy food. All of the food is good quality from Costco so no real issues there. After a couple of requests they finally removed the sucker basket or at least try to hide it better. I know its up to me to train my children that they dont get sweets every day but a little help would be appreciated. You must fill out a forum to have lotion applied to your child if they have dry skin, and supply the lotion which is fine. But they dont often do it. So whats the point? You also must sign a forum for a doctors Rx to be given which is fine, But you cannot get them to give over the counter drugs like Tylenol for a fever. Instead they make you leave work and come get them. My ex-nanny provided more of a service than this place and cost about the same. Especially when you consider all the lost wages having to take them home for Tylenol to cure teething. Most of the time they are getting sick from being around other kids there so they could administer a little Tylenol at least. The sign in process is archaic with paper sign in sheets in binders that they claim they will take with them if they need to exit the building for a fire. So they'll know who's in attendance. Well if a fire breaks out it could start at the electrical socket at the front desk making this plan null. Of course if it starts in the back, the fire sprinklers are sure to ruin the paper sign in sheets if they aren't grabbed quick enough before exiting. Ever heard of google docs? Lets try digital huh? I could go on about how the rooms have very poor air circulation at times and stink of stale air but you get the point. It's good for the price I guess. I wasn't going to say anything but I must. For one I'll say I think that most of the staff is nice and welcoming and the school looks very nice itself. However my twins started daycare on March 20th, by March 23 one of the twins got sick and by March 24 they were in the ER. It is now April 19th and they are still sick. I'm new to motherhood and daycare stuff but I'm KNOW 2 yr olds being sick for this long is a real concern. Sure kids get sick at daycare, plenty of parents dump their experiences on each other about that, but what concerned me was those first 3 days I picked up my kids and one of them had smeared dried up tears and snot all over her face as if she was crying for a while and no one consoled her of wiped her face. Also, there is one daycare teacher that rubbed me the wrong the way by the name of Rhonda, the first day I noticed she gave a look at my twins as if there were "baggage" like she didn't want to deal with them, she also wasn't very welcoming, she was nice but it seemed forced. She was also one of the teachers in the class the first couple of days, the second day I brought my grand mother and niece with me to see show them the school and my grandmother had walk up to Rhonda and make her notice us while we stood at the door trying to get her attention in which my grandmother made a comment about how the teacher pretend not to notice us. Also the room is all the way I back of the building, there is no ventilation what so ever and the air system broke. Also when you walk into the room it immediately smells like the toilet, in which the bathroom where the toddlers pee is in the same room with the door constantly open. So I'd say that's pretty much how the girls got sick with all those germs permeating through the room along with toddlers being toddlers spreading germs already. There is not much clean air flowing through there, I asked the teachers if they could move the kids to a different room with cleaner air while the system gets fixed but nothing budged. What also concerned me was when I dropped the off later than normal the last day we were there the teacher fed them but the way she fed them, grabbing let's gloves and scooped the pasta out of the a tube by her hands and putting it on a plate for my kid to eat, I asked her if that's how they feed the kids normally and she said it was because they came after the other kids ate, and I said that's not sanitary, I should've took the plate away but didn't, the next day they were in the ER and that was the last time they were ever there. My twins now have Bronchitis The flu One of the twins lungs are struggling, she never had any issues with respiratory beforehand. For daycare to be as expensive regardless of how it's paid, all daycare should be a lot more sanitary and more attentive to children Again the staff was great the some of the teachers there need more training of how to upkeep the cleanliness and to not judge or be biased towards certain children. read more

Today during lunch, my child asked for utensils and was told by the teacher (!) that they "ran out and she just has to eat with her hands"! It was some kind of pasta dish. My five year old said it was three of them left without utensils and were forced to eat pasta scooping it into their mouths! It poses a serious health risk and it is violation of any and all sanitary norms. I asked where was teachers while they were eating and she said the teachers were walking around telling them to make bigger scoops. In which world is that acceptable? I immediately called the school and was told "they are looking into it", then front desk lady told me it's "he said, she said" situation and suggested my child was lying. So that's the behaviour you can expect from Childrens Learning Adventure. I have zero expectations that they'll actually do anything other than trying to cover up and blame kids so I'm filing formal complaint with The Nevada Division of Public and Behavioral Health's Child Care Licensing Unit tomorrow and strongly encourage parents affected by that place do the same. The place itself is extremely disorganized, endless stream of teachers that disappear before you remember their names. Once the room was so cold , all kids were shivering. I asked why the temp is so low and was told the thermostat is controlled by the head office and the teachers cannot adjust it. Another time the teacher was hiding in the corner pressed against the wall texting on her phone while kids were running and screaming unsupervised. All these things were brought up to the front desk where the ladies sweetly smile and will tell you they will look into it. Needless to say, I cannot trust them with safety of my kid. read more
