The focus they put on leadership and self-governing is something I wish I had learned growing up. My brother struggled in regular school to the point we weren't sure if he could keep up here. However within the school year he was actually excelling, not because the school is easy, but because he had a true support system. His teacher would work one on one with him and gave him extra assignments that would help him get the concepts in a way he could understand and practice. It was a lot of work for my brother, but to finally be on A honor roll was priceless! I knew I wouldn't want my daughter to go anywhere else after seeing my brothers transformation. They focus on true principles and helping the students learn for themselves and enjoy the process. We love this school and feel so lucky to have found them! We also love the new campus!

My friends were dealing with racist driven attacks daily. When we reported students for using the n-word every day to them we were told that the boys said we had said mean stuff to them. Nothing was done about the report because my friends were sticking up for themselves. But hey if your white and are a trump supporter this school is for you.

My daughter was very smart prior to moving here and this school didn't slow her down. She has continued to excel in reading, math, science and Physical education. She has taken after school activities such as piano, yoga and even fun activity clubs and loved every one of them. I was able to see my child from a public trail and was quickly spotted by the PE coach as she confronted me and confirmed with my daughter that she knew me. I was really happy that the teachers have that level of care for the kids to ensure I wasn't a creep. The PTO does amazing things with a lot of dedicated parents participating. My experience with the teachers thus far has been amazing. You get a chance to meet more of them at community events and fundraiser dinners the PTO creates. The traffic came back up for drop off. The principal and other teachers out in the parking lot trying to keep parents moving any methodical pace. There is a flow to the process to ensure all kids get dropped off quickly and in a safe manner. The crossing guards are always there and always have a children's safety as the number one priority from what I've seen. I'm also amazed how the people letting the children into the school in the morning seem to know nearly every single one of them. My child's experience has been great. We dedicate a lot of time at home with our children to help them learn that at school. It seems the teachers do the same which makes the school work very well for us and our level of involvement with the children. The ram run is an opportunity for the kids to run laps in the morning before school starts and a great opportunity to motivate them to stay more active. My daughter really liked this and over the course of the ram run duration from October to May, she ran over 60 mi with a couple laps each day. This is not required and starts about 15 minutes before the bell rings. SafeKey is offered before and after school. I have only used a before school option. I know this is a CCSD provided function and not a school function but I asked the SafeKey teachers how they manage a number of teachers versus students and they told me they provide the appropriate number of teachers for whatever children are signed up for the SafeKey that day. One afternoon, I watched children throwing rocks into the backyards of houses so long the trail. I didn't expect there to be enough SafeKey teachers to be able to watch every kid at all times since they are all playing in the large playground. I told the kids to stop and they did. I then went over to the school to talk to the SafeKey teachers and they address it immediately. I never saw any children throw rocks again. Overall I think the teachers of the school are very attentive from my experience. I think the pickup and drop off goes as efficiently as it can go since the school doesn't actually have a large parking lot for everybody to park. It seems like the PTO and staff are dedicated to provide the best environment they can provide. I am very happy that I chose to live in an area that is zoned for this highly rated school.

You want to get there early for a good parking spot, but there 2 neighborhoods from each side also have a walkway that's very accessible to park there and walk. I recommend parents to get involved in their kids' school if they want to bring change to it. My kids are happy there and any issues that have come up have been resolved by teachers and other staff. I hope to see more before and after school programs.. Any place will have room for improvement , but overall happy here. Nice parents and kids

Poor girl saying "that hurt really bad" repeatedly, and the boy proceeded to pick up something even bigger and throw that at her. Apparently, the school doesn't care about their students harming each other, and people outside of the school. Again, is my third time reporting it. I'm unsure as to why there are no teachers or anyone of authority watching young children. I will be calling the district to inform them, since the school doesn't seem to care. Linda, who I'm told is the office manager, was especially unhelpful and uncaring on the second attempt to inform. The first time, the students were throwing rocks across the street at me and almost hit me twice, while almost hitting a car. They then almost hit a mom and daughter. I called the school to tell them. The second time, I decided to do (as advised), and go inside and let the front office know. I was greeted by two women who were very concerned and ASKED ME to wait and speak to a woman named Linda. I said no that's okay, and was insisted I wait, despite my reluctance and not thinking it necessary. I overhear them try to tell Linda and she loudly proclaimed (I'm paraphrasing) "tell them to call the city we have nothing to do with this"..uhhh what now? So the two women, naturally, were very confused and said "there was an incident!". Linda proceeded to come over and be extremely rude and almost snide, telling me she doesn't know what I want her to do and that they sent out letters already to the parents. I said well that obviously didn't work and decided to leave because her unwarranted poor attitude was unfair to be directed at me when all I'm trying to do is protect the kids from hurting others. She then chased me as I casually and calmly walked away shouting for my name. Deeply unsettling interaction. Third attempt: today a boy in a red tshirt was throwing rocks at other students. I watched and figured I'd stay out of it given my other experiences until he whipped a rock at the back of a girl also wearing a red tshirt (hers has white numbers on the back) from a few feet away. She cried out "that really hurt" multiple times and sounded like she was going to cry, as she was holding her back. He told her "no it didn't" and picked up something even bigger and threw that at her. Where are the teachers? Why are these kids so unsupervised that they can do this? Someone is going to get seriously hurt. And again, why am I being treated like I'm in the wrong in this situation? I was nothing but polite and nice.
