No better gym in the area. I moved from a "big" gym, best choice I ever made . Thank you SMTF for changing my life

I'm on the Wellhub app which allows me to visit any gym across the country. After relocating to…read moreSacramento CA from NYC and then AZ I was highly disappointed in the gyms in Rancho Cordova, Citrus Heights, Fair Oaks, and Roseville. Then I found In Shape in Folsom and felt like I found my gym... finally. Things I look for in a gym are: Punching bags (there's 2 one outside and one inside) the inside one has been removed the last few days... I hope they fix it. I also look for a steam room and sauna, and of course a pool. I also love that they have a smoothie bar with great ingredient options which are fairly priced.

To the mysterious individual who looked at a warm, inviting gym and thought, "You know what this…read moreplace needs? The ambiance of an outpatient surgery center." Congratulations. You have accomplished what decades of New Year's resolutions could not: you've made me less excited to come to the gym. The rich maroon and blue walls gave this place personality. They made it feel energetic, comfortable, and welcoming. Now I walk in expecting someone to hand me a clipboard, ask for my insurance card, and tell me the MRI machine is down the hall. Did someone lose a bet? Was there a clearance sale on "Corporate Beige Despair?" Did a committee gather around paint swatches and unanimously declare, "Let's remove every ounce of warmth from the building"? This gym has always been one of the reasons I've stayed a member for years. It had character. It felt alive. Now it feels like the waiting room where enthusiasm goes to die. Whoever approved this color scheme owes the old walls a formal apology. Please. Bring back the warmth. My muscles don't mind the workout, but my eyeballs are filing a grievance.

I regret not being able to fulfill the 3 day (verbal agreement) free trial, as I was recommended to go else where/denied service for seeking to grieve some concerns or complaints (with that of Freedom of Speech but without slander, as such was in my opinions). But, been at the other gym for a couple of months and doing okay, it's getting a little more busy now. But still a spacious/clean gym with great amenties for such a great price, even points are given when I check into to get discounts or freebies as a smoothie at the juice bar. Been meaning to do rock climbing but did use the Jacuzzi/pool and looking forward to using there indoor courts and even recently been getting a tan with also a chair massage and then will be trying to be more active in there group classes that focuss on a variety of things. The outside B.B.Q. for socials with outside work out strongman station and dip bar then a punching bag with chin up bars are a nice extra too.

Lifetime Folsom is not a gym... it's a full-blown civilization…read more Met a friend here for a workout, and since she's not a member, we had to do the whole guest pass process first. You know... the "tap here, sign here, acknowledge that squats may humble you today" routine. But I've got to give credit where it's due -- the front desk made it ridiculously easy. They were handling a phone call and getting my friend squared away at the same time, and somehow still made it all look smooth. No chaos, no confusion, no "uhhh let me get my manager." Just straight-up professionalism. The second we walked in, she looked around and said, "Is this a city or a gym?" I said, "Honestly... both." Because Lifetime Folsom is not for the weak or the directionally challenged. This place has everything. Pool, spa, cafe, workout floors, recovery zones, pickleball, tennis, locker rooms that feel fancier than some apartments... at one point I'm pretty sure if you turn the wrong corner you accidentally enroll in a wellness retreat. And my favorite part? The confidence people have before a workout. She came out of the locker room with that movie trailer energy like, "Alright, let's do this." Looking at me like, "Bring it." And I did. I coached her through the workout, and for the first 20 minutes she was hanging in there strong. Then somewhere around that 1 hour and 30 minute mark, the spirit left the body. By the end, the look had changed from "I got this" to "I would like to formally unsubscribe." And honestly? Respect. Because the workout was solid. We laughed the whole time, had great conversation, and got after it. That's what I love about Lifetime -- whether you're going hard or just trying to survive the stair climber without seeing your ancestors, it somehow still feels fun. After we wrapped up, we grabbed our stuff and headed to the cafe because recovery was no longer optional. She needed a pick-me-up, and honestly, probably a new set of legs. We grabbed shakes, sat down, and started coming back to life. Then out of nowhere she goes, "Ummm... tacos?" And I looked at her like she had just spoken the Lord's language and said, "Yes." Then she hits me with, "I got the spot. Follow me." Now THAT is elite leadership. So basically this place gave us: a killer workout, laughs, smoothies, and the launching point for Taco Tuesday. What more do you want from a gym? A zip code? Actually... Lifetime might already have one. In all, Lifetime Folsom continues to prove it's way more than just a gym. It's an experience. It's a fitness amusement park. It's where confidence goes to get tested and where post-workout taco plans are born. And honestly... that's beautiful.

Subject: Extremely Disappointing Experience & Unresolved Billing Issue - General Manager Niko…read more The Current GM, Niko, is the worst in the Business. He is willing to do OR not to do the Unthinkable. Yes the Billing is a horrible mess. (It can be fixed--I have gone in as an A/R Consultant to many businesses and fixed the A/R in 3 months) I reccommend to try Granite Bay Crunch they seem kinder. I have been to every Crunch Gym for over 15 years and this is the ONLY 1 that is under-educated and not a business mind-set. The Folsom Crunch has let other people use a Credit Card to pay the Annual Fee but will not allow me to and insists on my checking account and routing no. The entire time he has not let me pay an Annual Fee charge (which was charged to me after I quit) with my credit card, so he would rather send me to collections. He can fix the $59 Annual Fee in an instance and I have tried to pay it many times but will not take the payment. Not fair NIK..The Problem with Niko is he is an old timer with a holier than thou attitude probably ex-lawenforcement but definitely the Steroid taking under-minded kind, from the older days. We do not need to take the Poor CS and treatment, As a matter of fact, the Customer is always right!!! I say to go to PF or Lifetime or Sparetime Clubs (THERE ARE SO MANY FITNESS CENTERS) where they treat every customer with respect. Rather than try to force the Customer hands. When new Management arrives at Crunch Folsom, you can come back to a decent gym and better Management. For now, I recommend In-Shape, 24, Studio GYMS everywhere...I know this because I have been to all these gyms and I have always praised the Management at all of them except for the NEW Mgt. at Crunch Fit in Folsom. Do your HW and research. The Yelp and Google ratings count!!

I have been a member at crunch since 2010 or 11 and I really didn't want to create this review…read more However, my most recent experience was so unsatisfactory that I had to. I have attached a screenshot of my email correspondence with the general manager that clearly states March 24 of this year that I was requesting my account and my wife's account be canceled. I do understand that there is a 30 day cancellation. So I was expecting to get charged for the accounts for one more month. However, two months later and beyond I had to reengage with the email correspondence with the general manager, and there was a very petty response that came from his end, stating that the cancellation was name specific. My initial cancellation was given with my wife's name per her state identification., she goes by Gosia, but crunch fitness was confused by this and has continually charged me. I have an ongoing claim with my bank to stop the reoccurring transactions, which is being drawn out over weeks. It's occurred to me that this is bottom tiertier customer service, they can really just cancel the membership and stop charging me, but I woke up this morning and they continued to charge me. I wouldn't recommend membership at this gym, just due to the lengthy and costly cancellation process.
