This place is pretty cool. Small gym, two heated pools (one indoor with water aerobic classes and one outdoor), reformer classes (extra cost) and more. I didn't see the kids area but I saw a lot of kids. I haven't explored all the options because I just joined. I would give them five stars but there was a lot of information that was left out when I joined. They accept a lot of insurance just not mine. The kids that run the front desk are very nice. read more

The Rollingwood YMCA is a place where community is built and relationships are shaped. We are a family of 6, and there is something for everyone! From fitness, to swim team, to playing on the courts, we love our Y. read more

heated indoor AND outdoor pool. lots of tennis courts, beautiful setting. This was a private club.

I dance in the pool, listening to music with earbuds, for about an hour's exercise. I love it! The pools are well maintained. And I love the option of being able to use the indoor pool- if I need to. I love the staff, they're always so helpful and considerate. I applaud the folks that do the hiring of these employees. They really have Good sense by hiring people that like their job, as opposed to just having a job. I look forward to going every morning and getting my serotonin/endorphin rush LOL!!! read more

The rollingwood Y is a nice enough gym. It's a lowkey place that's fairly well maintained and has good gym equipment, tennis facilities, a sauna, and pools. But lately it's been pretty frustrating dealing with the outdoor pool schedule. They seem to treat the outdoor pool as a party rental spot for profit, especially during the summer months. Quite a few times we've shown up in the afternoon only to have to drive back home because the outdoor pool area is reserved for a private party that there was no notice for. It's only been recently they even started including some of them on the schedule, because I imagine other members are complaining as well. But this weekend, 2 parties that took all afternoon, were not given notice for. Especially on a pretty hot weekend that I'm sure other people would wanna use it too. Seems a little rude to the other members that pay to use the ymca as well. read more

Love the water aerobics class on Monday and Wednesday night with Joilynn teaching. Great class!

If you are a senior tennis player, do not join the Rollingwood YMCA. They only care about youth players who generate profit. I have been a senior player at Rollingwood for over twenty years, organizing a group of eight players for doubles. We cannot consistently get courts for our play. Our attempts at communication have fallen on deaf ears. Although the YMCA is supposed to serve the community, apparently the Y does not include senior tennis players. read more

There has been a snot on the men's locker room wall for over 6 months! Sauna was broken on & off for over a year. They fixed it but it was closed for around 4 months to fix. It works good now. Outdoor pool, a key feature of the gym was closed for about 6 months. First for the cold weather (it had never been closed in the winter before) and then for months due to refreshing it. During the refresh, weeks went by with no activity. A fiasco. To be fair, the indoor pool was open. Courses seem expensive and most of the instructors are snooty, like they own the gym. (Some are nice.) There's no sense in complaining about anything; the front desk usually will empathize but cannot do anything. They refer you to the suggestion box. I submitted 3 suggestions but no one ever contacted me and my suggestions were never acted on. (One was the snot on the men's locker room wall.) It's a cool, low key place. Clientele are mostly older. Fair amount of equipment. Nice tennis courts. But, what kind of gym/fitness club has shows like Home Flippers, kids science, etc. on the gym floor TVs. One is always on tennis, which is appropriate, two are on nonsense shows, the last is a variety of news & some sports. How about major league games? I think they are too cheap to pay for the sports channels. Pretty ridiculous for a sports club. And monthly fees are not cheap! They're roughly $80 per month for a single! My recommendation is that unless you are a swimmer, tennis player, live very close, or have your membership supplemented, stay away from this place. read more

I want to give a shout out to Rollingwood YMCA. They have nicely recovered from the difficult circumstances created by the pandemic. Staff in general seems to have been retained. They are very friendly, very helpful, and have retained the knowledge and personality that was characteristic of the club prior to being conveyed to the YMCA. It is not a fancy club, and many of us really like it that way. We're not looking for glitz and glamour, we're looking for nice people and a nice place to work out. Let me add one negative, the mats for Pilates, yoga, etc. are filthy and really need to be cleaned up or replaced. I'd like to especially call out Affi Ensani, a fabulous and highly versatile trainer, whose classes are hard but achievable. read more

Cool little club. I'm not a member, I came here for a birthday party. The host rented out the top entertainment area and we were able to play tennis if we wanted to. The host was also able to bring outside food and have a bar set up. I don't think there's an elevator because the front desk told us we had to take the stairs to get to the party. read more

Great environment, I feel very comfortable here, and there is a good variety of different types of workouts to choose from.

I have been coming here off and on for almost a year now. And today wasn't the first time I left feeling frustrated. It is clear to me that this community suffers from social prejudice values and beliefs. I cannot understand why anyone would behave this way in todays modern world. It's clear to me that this team needs education on what their roles are as staff members for the YMCA. They need to focus on areas such as kindness, openness, acceptance, and again Kindness. Nobody leaving the YMCA should feel anxiety and confusion upon entering or exiting. And those are the kinds of emotions I go through time and again there at Rollingwood YMCA read more

Love this club and have been here for years. Can't beat playing tennis with green trees, wildlife and no car traffic noises anywhere. It's a beautiful environment hidden way off the road. Workers have always been so friendly and helpful and members are very friendly as well. I use the gym in the afternoon and it's very quiet. read more

It's not a fancy club yes they could improve the showers .but people that goes there are friendly . Some stuff can improve. Ok

Well I understand the Club discontinued their relationship with the Swim Teams Head Coach. Really?! How many years have you won league? Like my previous review, in my opinion the Swim Team and location is all you have going for you. You've raised your rates without improving the quality of the facility (ok an updated parking lot). If you want a gym at their rates, go to CalFit. If you want to Swim, check out Fair Oaks Dolphins, if you want to pay out the rear for tennis and a mediocre gym, well this is the place for you. read more

Update: Facility has been getting a face lift since it has changed ownership. Things are looking up for this Quaint racquet club. Things to note are the newly resurfaced tennis courts which make for a faster paced topspin. Supposedly the pools have been re-done. They also seem to have added more social events, which i noted they lacked on my previous posting. The faculty at this site are approachable and very helpful. (thanks Mara) One star short for parking, which can be hard to find. However, on the plus side the facility at its peak hours still does not seem to be to crowded. read more

I'm giving them only 2 stars because the gym is so unsanitary!!!!! Ever since I got the flu 8 months ago (I felt like I got it from the gym, but who knows) I've always felt like the gym equipment is dirty. So about 3 days ago I was here and all the machines that have the cleaner wipes were empty. This is a usual thing. So I informed staff. They only have to dispensers on the floors. Which are always empty. have never seen staff walking around cleaning.so today again I noticed they were empty. I went up to the front desk to inform him and he let me know there shipment had not come in. I know it's not the front desks fault. But that is disgusting. I asked him if they had anything to clean off the machines. He told me no. So how many days have they not been wiped down? I use the treadmill and stair stepper. I drip sweat all over the machines with nothing to clean. Overall it's a nice gym but feeling like it's not sanitary makes me want to go elsewhere. read more

Nice "neighborhood" gym. Nothing fancy, but has what most people need/want: free weights, machines, 2 swimming pools, lots of tennis courts, cycling room, 1 racquetball court, Crossfit room, Pilates room, kids room, and more. There isn't a huge area for everything, but there is a space for all of those activities. Staff is polite. Gym has been undergoing remodeling for a while, but seems like they still need to paint the exterior of the building, fix the parking lot and a few other minor touches. I think by waiting on these improvements (or avoiding them all together) they keep prices at a reasonable rate. read more

This gym has definite pluses and minuses. Pros: -Great, secluded and peaceful setting. -Two pools, hot tubs and sauna. -Very convenient access for those of us who live in Phoenix Field / Rollingwood neighborhoods. -Decent class schedule. -Complimentary towel service. -Lounge upstairs. Cons: -Staff training...we have a 6 month old and were told when we joined that their day care started with 3 months old and older. I was then told 6 months and then just this past weekend the woman at the front told me the children needed to be potty trained. I haven't gone in to confront / confirm and am hoping that I can still bring my 6 month old in when my husband and I both want to work out. We were also told that a seated rower was on it's way back in January...still waiting... -The building walls / floors are definitely dated and in need of updating. -Weekend hours are a little limiting - they aren't open until 7am. We were also told they are under new management...so not sure if that means they will stand by the benefits currently offered or withhold any. The staff comments to me in this area have made me wonder..., "yes, the towel service is complimentary...for now..." Overall, it's the convenience to my house that sets this club apart from other choices. I hope they can improve in the above areas for me to be able to truly recommend them to others. read more

Rollingwood will never be your fancy athletic club- it has no pretensions to be austere. Rather it is a wonderful neighborhood gathering place in the middle of our community that offers a very good experience. I so appreciate the individual athletic trainers, among them Affi, Logan, Mary, Michelle, Holly, Lyn, Nick, Brett. They do a great job kicking the training experience up a notch. I want to especially note how pleased I have been to see the youth conditioning program taking off with such a commitment from the trainer. You guys are great, keep it up! read more

I'm so happy I found Rollingwood. I love being able to swim laps in the indoor pool in the winter! The new owners have created such a great family environment. So many amazing updates around the club in the last year like the new floors and paint have made the whole place stand out. Taking classes in the gym here is my favorite way to start the day. I worked with Heather as my personal trainer. She went out of her way to help me reach my goals. read more

Wow, never sign up with them, and certainly do not give them your credit card. I was trying to cancel my membership due to lack of time, but the guy I was talking to only talked to me about freezing the account for three months. So, three months pass by, and without warning, I get a bill from them saying I owe for the month. Baffled, I go in to talk to Mitch, who directs me to Jenny, who handles the financial. I wait in the office for 45 minutes, before I leave because she never shows up and the staff doesn't know where she is. So I said okay, I'll call and make an appointment with her. I call three times, she never picks up; I left two voice mails, and no response whatsoever. So I naively thought, 'Oh, it must have been taken care of.' NOPE. I get another bill saying that I owe for two months now. I talked to Jenny, and she disregards everything I tell her about her never returning my phone calls, no one telling me about canceling and filling out a former, etc. She just tells me she has to go by the paperwork; basically, she take NO responsibility for the things she did not do. Now that I'm on here, I see I'm not their first victim. Stay away from this place! It's alsoold and not worth the money you would spend here, which only keeps on increasing. read more

I've been a member for 2+ months now. The classes are great (wish maybe they offered a few more since some of the water exercise classes are FULL & it's hard to move around the pool without mowing someone else over & I am not able to try others because of timing). The clubhouse & building themselves are showing their age. An update could definitely be used!! The personal training sessions were awesome & I felt comfortable with my trainer. She taught me a lot & I am becoming more fit as a result. This place would be sweet if they could remodel the changing rooms & clubhouse, and perhaps refresh the indoor pool area. Still it's great for the price my family paid & I don't regret my one year commitment (so I could keep the price from changing). read more

I love RAC. Great vibe like an old time community gym. People are nice. Instructors are awesome. Not too pricey. They offer other things besides sweating it out. We've had dance lessons, painting classes, French lessons, etc. read more

I have been a member at Rollingwood Athletic Club for many years. The staff they have working there now is by far the best motivators and trainers I have ever met. Each day I'm greeted with a smile and a clean towel. All the staff is very friendly and accommodating! I personally take a lot of classes in the Group Fitness room and I am always sweaty and working hard. The instructors motivate and push you to keep working hard. The new TrueZones classes are especially fun! I highly recommend trying this gym and some of the extra classes they offer! read more

I won't give this club any stars. The exercise equipment is old and seldom repaired. The roof has leaked every winter causing a horrible mold smell within several exercise rooms, frankly, this club is unsanitary. If you have a respiratory health problem, you should reconsider going into this establishment. Their upstairs carpeting is filthy and that is where people eat lunch. The staircases are dangerous and several members have fallen and tripped down them. If you play tennis, the courts are falling apart with big cracks and the top layer of the court surface is peeling off causing players to trip and fall. They indicate the courts have been resurface, that was several years ago. The only plus to this club is they greet you with a smile and some of the coaches are friendly, but some are rude and treat you with disrespect. I found this club to be a huge disappointment and waste of money. I want a health club to improve my fitness not jeopardize my health and safety. Beware 2019 read more

Just moved to the area and thought I would give this place a shot. I signed up online and they were able to get me in quite rapidly. I had high hopes but they were immediately gone when showing up. The cost to just check the place out was $15.00. Ok but I got no tour, had to find things on my own and when I asked the girl at the front just said go check it out for yourself. Not the kind of service I expected. Furthermore, after figuring where things were I decided to hit the free weights. Absolutely minimal funding of this facility goes to the weight center. Worn out benches, mixed match weights with lots of rubber coming off. Couldn't find normal weight loads. Compared to the tennis and pickle ball courts the weight facility is a joke. This is truly a racquet and swim club. That's why the two stars. After working out I asked if they had deals or what the membership details were at the front desk and they said to sign up online and that no deals are happening. Just so disappointed in this establishment and the treatment I received. Will probably look elsewhere for a gym. read more

I totally agree with the bad reviews here. We wasted so much money on so called "Swim" instructors here without learning anything. We recently got transferred to the Bay area and called them to cancel our membership; they initially said that we can cancel after giving 2 months notice. We were fine with it but When my wife went to return the badges, that guy was so rude and told her that we cant cancel until we pay for a full year. Oh come on, this is a cheap gym in fair oaks, not Augusta Golf course. They were charging us for 2 months after we left and now I have a "derogatory" remark on my otherwise perfect credit score since I told my Bank to stop the payment. I sincerely urge everybody to stay away from this place. read more

This is an awesome family and senior friendly athletic club. My family has had a membership since 2016 and we love it. The kids' play area is great and they treat my kids better than I do (j/k). I was a member many many moons ago but didn't find it a good value. Heard about a special they had at the beginning of the summer so I thought why not?! Have been a member now 2 months and love it. Back into my tennis and getting some very good workouts in. I love that it's tucked away, you can go and not feel intimidated and friendly staff. Daycare has great staff, who always have a smile on their face when you walk in. The price is more than I was paying at another gym but I feel it's worth it ! read more

We've been members here for about 10 years. Love the improvements made since the new owner took over about 18 months ago (parking lot, landscaping, tennis courts, pool equipment, indoor pool ventilation). Staff is absolutely great too and enjoy knowing so many on a first name basis. Swim team is going through changes but we are really impressed with the new (and some old) staff running the aquatics program. The prospect of off-season meets with coaches on deck from our neighborhood club is pretty exciting too. The swim families are really like family and can't wait for another year of good times on deck. Funtime Fridays (for parents) are almost upon us! If you qualify, check out discounts available through GlobalFit too. read more

Ok, here goes. The people at this place make it a great place to go. ( both help and customers). I have made many new friends here and all the instructors are amazing. The water in the indoor pool is almost always a nice temperature. However, the bad thing is they do not have any air exhaust and leave a fan running 24-7 bringing in the outside air. All winter the cold air from outside sweeps across the pool making it very cold and uncomfortable. When customers complained and asked if maybe the fan could be turned off during class we were told to go buy a swim jacket! In the winter when it's really cool outside the regular weight jacket is not even heavy enough. In the summer 100 degree air is being blown around. read more

Been going here for approximately 3 weeks now. Good local community gym. The free weight area is smaller than your average gym but it's never so busy that you have to wait for equipment. The reason for 3 stars is that they sell lots of different types of candy, soda, chips etc. at the front desk. Seems pretty absurd to me but maybe they're just creating job security? How about some fruit or healthy snacks like every other gym/fitness center I've ever been to... read more

I joined Rollingwood a few weeks ago. It's tucked away in my neighborhood in a beautiful setting. I don't know why I didn't join sooner. It's such a wonderful unpretentious place to work out. The staff are all so friendly and they already know my name. Even when the parking lot is full, it never feels busy inside. They have standard cardio and weights, a Pilates studio, a good variety of classes, cross fit, and indoor and outdoor pools. The club is undergoing some renovations but it hasn't put any of the facilities out of commission. I think it's great that they are investing in improvements. I recently joined this club. I was looking forward to the classes (Pilates, Yoga, Weight Training, etc) Note: on the class schedule, it states "All Levels Welcome" Day 1: I was looking forward to the Circut Weight class and showed up early. At the fronet desk, they told me to be early to let the instructor know that I'm new to the class. Then I was told, I had to be accessed just to take the class. I agreed waited and was left standing in the hall in the middle of people working out, and repeatedly told "'I'll be right with you. After 20 minutes, I left. Day 2: Showed up for Pilates Class. I'm a beginner and found that there isn't any modifications made for beginners. To sum it up, if you're already fit and don't need a gym, go, you'll be fine BUT if you are out of shape or a Beginner, you will be frustrated. read more
