I love Pilates Heartcore. I've been to five classes so far - two private, one virtual, and two group - and have been led by five different instructors. Each class was wonderful, as was each instructor. I'm new to Pilates - before Heartcore I had only gone to/done two studio classes fifteen years ago + a few YouTube (mat) Pilates videos over the years - so I was very nervous starting out. Each instructor made me feel welcome and very supported. In addition, when I first started taking classes, I spoke with Katie, the owner of the studio, over email many times (to schedule classes), and she was so helpful and very quick to respond. The studio itself is spacious and very clean (including the bathrooms). Also, Heartcore has no "surprises" - something I very much appreciate; all policies are posted on their website, so everything that prospective + current students need to know is there. People may need to set reminders for themselves about things - an upcoming class they registered for, the need to bring grippy socks to class (which they do sell in the studio), when to cancel your registration to a class if you won't be able to make it, etc. - but that is to be expected at almost every establishment/business. I've been a member here for just about a month, and I don't foresee myself ending my membership anytime soon (barring a faraway move or something). I look forward to each class, and I'm so excited to keep going. I love this studio! read more

I have been going to this studio for over a year now since my back surgery at the end of 2023. My exercise background was rooted in team sports and gym workouts, which relied heavily on negative reinforcement. This studio is a complete 180 degrees from what I am was used to and is fantastic. All of the instructors are welcoming, encouraging and often time funny. They have helped me on my recovery journey immensely and I will continue with this studio far into the future. read more

My wife first convinced me to try a class at Pilates Heart Core and I wasn't sure what to expect. I figured I'd be stretching a little and just tagging along for support. Fast forward and now we're fighting over who gets the better class times. Katie (the owner) is great, super friendly and makes the workouts feel way less intimidating. The studio has a chill, welcoming vibe, but the classes will still push you in a good way. I always leave feeling like I actually did something for my body. Pricing is easy too. You can do single classes, grab a pack, or go monthly. No pushy sales pitch, so plenty of options. Katie and staff learn and remember what modifications I need for my body. I suffered from chronic hip pain, burning ankles and feet. Their routines pinpoint problem areas and focus on core strength, mobility and balance. Katie cautioned my hips might get a little worse before better and she was right. Hip spasm would come on a bit doing bridges but with time it passed and now I can do gardening, bending, stooping for long periods with no pain. The footwork removed the burning in my ankles when driving. My core strength has corrected a life long habit of poor posture which has reduced shoulder pain. It is not about losing weight. It is about feeling good in my body and having a quality of life I feel proud of. The studio is so pretty, staff funny and friendly, knowledgeable and personable. I've been going since May 2024 and don't miss a week. I hadn't moved my body regularly in years and couldn't find the motivation. This studio really has been life changing. This place is AMAZING!! All of the instructors are friendly, down to earth, and have a great way of keeping you engaged during class. The class sizes are small so that they can help students out during class without interrupting the flow. This is a judgement free zone. I am so not an athletic person and have never once felt pressured or pushed during classes or private sessions. They go at your pace and talk you through the hard parts. I LOVE PILATES HEARTCORE! Pilates Heartcore (PC) and the community Katie has built is so special. I started taking classes in Fall 2019, just in time to get hooked before everything shut down. Katie and all her instructors have created a lifelong customer because of how well they have handled (and continue to handle) the pandemic. The studio offered many online class options during the shut down. Katie and the PC instructors went above and beyond for us, designing virtual and on-demand classes using tools found within our homes (chairs, towels, pillows, soup cans, etc). She additionally provided the option to purchase and pick up small Pilates exercise tools from the studio. I even won a Balance Body foam exercise roller in a giveaway! Each PC instructor has their own strengths, style, and approach. I like to rotate through all of them, when my schedule allows. The PC team is a caring and compassionate one. My instructors came out to one of my art show events last weekend! What?! Another instructor made me a custom sign for my art booth through her own creative business. This space is all about COMMUNITY. I feel so welcomed and valued. I appreciate how long the masking policy was in place. This is community care. Katie and the PC instructors go above and beyond to make sure our most vulnerable studio mates have access to reformer Pilates. The classes are the perfect size. I feel like I receive personalized attention. I have taken a few private classes with Katie in order to set some strengthening goals for myself. She gave me A LOT of pointers that have helped me make the most of my regular/group classes. This is a body-positive studio. Lots of body types, lots of folks of different ages and abilities. Katie tirelessly works to ensure that her studio is an inclusive space. I love that I can go to class in a cute yoga outfit OR an oversized, paint-stained T-shirt shirt and sweatpants. No one cares. Unless your clothes are too bright or too pink, then Katie will send you away. Just kidding. Katie will not send you away! Katie's classes are double whammies because you get to exercise while enjoying her sense of humor. Her dog stories are my favorite. I think she has six rescue dogs now? Katie is incredibly knowledgeable when it comes to all things Pilates and the anatomical body. Do yourself a favor and just do it: get your butt to an intro class. Buy some non-slip socks at the studio (sock purchases support local dog rescues). And get ready to join the Pilates Heartcore cult, I mean community. read more

I've been coming here off and on since January of this year and love it. Took a break for financial and scheduling reasons, nothing to do with the studio. All the instructors here are amazing and I love that the classes are different every time. Reading the negative reviews, it's apparent that people don't understand the difference between someone being direct and someone being rude. The owner is very direct, but she is also completely up front about how the studio is run and is consistent in enforcing the policies. I myself own a small business and catch myself making exceptions for customers that put extra burden on me, so I can appreciate that she is holding her boundaries and being unapologetic about it. Bottom line, if you're not a jerk and have even the most basic sense of self awareness, you will have no problem with the owner and you'll love it here. read more

I went here for private sessions with Emily and she is great. The owner however appears to have something wrong with her. First she has had people wearing mask's until now. Have you exercised with a mask? It can be challenging especially when you have asthma as I do. I had to cancel last minute because I couldn't wear a mask and I am out the money, I get it. However when doctors have long dropped it she has kept it up it becomes ridiculous. She finally decides to make it make it voluntary and sends an email to all her clients telling them as such. Somewhat rude but whatever . Someone sent her a nasty response and she sent everyone a crazy unhinged email wayyyy over the edge of sanity. Obviously she has personal issues to be so incredibly angry and hateful. I decided to never return and wait few days hoping she would calm down and emailed asking her how many sessions I had left on a package of 6 I purchased. She then said I didn't show up for one ( told Emily I wasn't) So they used my last credit. Then she complained to me how my no show cost her money as she had to pay Emily. Told me there would be new rules I must follow in the future. I paid for the session so how was she out? So incredibly rude I would never return. The woman wants to blame everyone but look in the mirror. It's a nice place but the owner has lost her marbles. read more

PHC is truly a community unto itself. The instructors take their jobs very seriously. They tailor the instructions based on the experience and fitness level of the students in each class to make sure everyone is getting what they need - no easy feat for a class of six students. I love the small class size, the focus on alignment, the focus on moving properly for your own body, and the community feeling Katie has cultivated. Each instructor has their own style, and they are all wonderful in their own unique way. I've been attending classes here consistently for nearly two years, and it has completely changed the way I feel about fitness and how I move. Katie runs her business with so much heart and honesty, and she puts everything she has into making it a space for all bodies. A few of the instructors cuss their way through class, which speaks to my heart because I cuss a fuck-ton. It's unpretentious and straightforward. As a Bay Area transplant mid-Pandemic, this studio was a lifeline, and sometimes the only place I'd see other faces for days at a time. This is a small business that has found a way to hire fantastic instructors with almost no turnover. It also has many students who have been members for as many years as they've been operating. This Pilates studio is truly amazing. There are many instructors to choose from and each instructor is very knowledgeable and takes each person's personal body needs into account. The classes are small which allows the instructors to be able to see and correct form thus preventing injuries as well as creates a safe intimate workout experience. The energy is extremely friendly and non judgmental. The studio itself is absolutely stunning and very clean as equipment is cleaned after each use. Speaking of equipment, this studio has it all! I'm a dude. A big dude. Super masculine in every sense of the word. I carve rock with my bare hands and a piece of broken rebar. My 6 year old has chest hair. So when my wife suggested I try her favorite Pilates place, I immediately was like, pssshhhh! But I learned my core muscles were not as strong as my show off muscles and that I needed to work those guys out. Interesting! The class was awesome and Katie takes time to get to know facts about your body- injuries, surgeries, etc. This is so you strengthen what you need to and dont hurt yoself while gettin springy on the reformer! Pilates Heartcore not only has fantastic knowledgeable instructors. It also has a great community of people cheering each other on. Their are classes ranging from beginner to expert and tons in between. You start off your journey with a intro class that explains all the moves with just you and other newbies. The intro class is free. So if it's not for you you've lost nothing. Just two classes a week quickly becomes over 100 classes in a year. As a super busy Mom I barely ever do something for myself. Going to my classes has become my favorite part of my week. And an accomplishment on its own that I've put myself first 100 times this year. read more

I strength train at the gym and do yoga regularly but still had hip and lower back pain from constantly sitting at my desk job (11 years).
