My parents and I, stopped in on a cold winters day to warm up with a fresh cup of tea. They have an extensive list of flavors and kinds of teas. If not your cup of tea, their are many other beverages to choose. Don't let their diverse authentic menu scare you away. The staff was wonderful, very kind, and helpful. Never have I gone to a cafe, and had a staff member go thru their menu, explaining the different items and the difference between the types of teas, and flavors. Breakfast or lunch their food has that touch of home style quality with fresh ingredients I desperately look for, almost impossible to find these days. I ordered the Selah Turkey sandwich. The best turkey sandwich with fresh veggies, homemade maple pesto makes the sandwich so yummy...and the ciabatta bread was warm & delicious. My dad tried the Wicked Good Chicken Salad Sandwich. He said, " I wish we could make ours taste this good at home," and he is a picky eater. My mom ordered the Turkey sandwich on a Pretzel bun. She loved the pretzel bun. This is her all time favorite sandwich. For dessert we shared a piece of carrot cake. It was hugh & sinfully delicious. If your in the area, I highly recommend stopping in to Selah Tea. I was expecting more looking at the reviews & pictures. I ordered zuppa toscana soup, salad and a bubble tea. Waited over 45 minutes for my soup. Which was cold and I found a hair in it. I brought it back up and was offered another bowl. Why would I care to have more hair soup? No thank you! They gave me my salad which was nothing special. I still had not received my bubble tea at that point it had been over an hour wait. I had to wait in line for my refund which they complained that they didn't know how to do. Delicious food and nice staff but absolutely not worth the price! I wish I had the time because I know I could do a better job and save money. "Half salad" is barely a small handful of ingredients. "Turkey Avocado Wrap" has a teeny tiny little smear of this avocado watery mixture. Should not have "Avocado" in the sandwich name. read more

This is a cafe with a nice, well-lit space. They have a huge selection of delicious teas, and a pretty typical cafe menu with soups, salads, wraps, and baked goods. There are a number of vegetarian options, some of which can be easily veganized. They have a daily vegetarian soup, and I think it's been vegan every time I've visited. The staff are knowledgeable and enthusiastic, and they can help customize wraps or sandwich for your diet. I also like that they have a handful of board games in case you want to hang out for a while. read more

The drinks are decent, though I have multiple times received something made incorrectly. Food regularly takes 20+ minutes, drinks can sometimes take 10. The FOH staff is friendly but it's clear something isn't being done right. They've been lucky they're the only place downtown for artisanal coffee. It was a quiet Saturday afternoon in the restaurant. The staff was very helpful and friendly. I ordered a curried chicken salad and was surprised at the size. Well I'm a lot older than "middle-aged" Joel S. and I and my partner enjoyed our stop at Selah. The soups are home-made, apparently, and certainly tasted as though they were. The sandwiches were nothing very special, but they were freshly made and brought to the table. The place has a nice casual atmosphere and the chairs looked comfortable. I doubt you will find anything better in this small town. We didn't try the coffee. read more

This is THE BEST CAFE in the Waterville area. There are a lot of college kids in it these days, but the coffee, food, and ambience overwhelmingly make up for that! This is literally my all time favorite place. Whether it's to study or just hang out, I'm always here. Most of the staff knows my name which is pretty crazy. They always have delicious tea ( I love the energy tea and feel good tea ) and you have the option to have it hot or chilled. Selah Tea Cafe is the best in my opinion, at least for individuals or small parties looking for a great sandwich/soup/salad and a cup of tea. Stopped at Selah on our way through Maine on I-95. We were looking for a local place with a good latte and breakfast and we definitely found it! Service was quick and friendly. Selah Tea has bubble tea. This is what brought me in. It is, as far as I know, the only place to get a bubble tea north of Portland. It's ok. They dont always dissolve the powder fully and the amount of tapioka you get varies greatly. I have eaten there before, and it's not bad, but I think overpriced for what you get. All in all, it's a really nice atmosphere; it has comfortable seating, alright food and alright bubble tea. read more

I just discovered this tea house the other day and I was so pleasantly pleased to have discovered it. I do not live in Waterville but will go there when I go to Waterville. The atmosphere so relaxing and calm They have couches and comfortable chairs they play amazing music it's soft and nice and The worker there was extremely friendly and the food and beverages were delicious I was so happy to hang out there for a while because it was so fun. I come here pretty often as a local college student and I find that the ambiance is great for cranking out those 3-4 page papers that don't seem like a lot of work, but that's precisely why you can't seem to start them. The music that they play is very calming and the seats are all really comfortable (I've tried the stools, chairs, and couches). The decor is cozier than Starbucks but still definitely reminded me of the overpriced chain cafe, which may be one of the reasons that I keep coming back. They have a great selection of desserts, teas, and food, all of which I would say is reasonably priced. My favorites are the Thai bubble tea, apple brie sandwich, cream of mushroom soup (when they have it) and the carrot whoopie pie. Staff members are always very friendly and once, there was a local musician up in the front by the exit door! Selah is definitely one of my favorite spots in downtown Waterville. read more

Stopped for light lunch. Had Tuscan spinach soup no mention of sausage in it until I tasted it. Don't eat sausage so husband ate my soup. Did ask person about soup before I ordered did not mention sausage. Soup and half sandwich were $9.50 which is high. Half a wrap had very little turkey in it though what was in it tasted fresh. This cafe is rather new supposedly, but they're doing everything right. They have a large tea selection and price their tea-by-the-cup very reasonably, charging only an extra $1 for the rarer teas. The restaurant itself is bright and open with lots of small tables and cozy seats. My husband and I ordered the corn chowder, curry chicken salad sandwich, and portabello wrap. The soup was good, but a bit too buttery and rich for such a warm day. The sandwich and wrap were both delicious with lots of fresh ingredients. I had a veggie salad that was truly top-notch. I ate and enjoyed every bite. The ambience was really nice. A good place to relax, read a book, do some work, or catch up with friends. I also had the dragon green tea which was very good. The word Selah is featured heavily in the book of Psalms in the Bible. Not sure if that is where the name was drawn from, but it has a nice feeling of rest about it. read more
