Very happy with the service, custom salad created to go with a cup of soup, and the yummy latte- which inspired us to bring home a bag of Selah coffee beans. Recommend for a healthy quick meal. read more

Great tea, okay coffee. The food is just okay for the most part. It's almost all gluten free stuff which is not my "cup of tea" so to speak.

Honestly, one of the only places I've been post-start of this pandemic where service and food has actually improved, let alone survived. AMAZING coffee/tea/smoothie (& more!) bar, cozy atmosphere, great food choices with (gluten) wheat-free options that actually rock. Even better....they source healthier meats and organic produce. Their homemade soups are spot on. Everyone & everything is SO appreciated by me- a "veteran" in this industry. Keep rocking along!! Cheers & kudos to you all! read more

Best hot chocolate! I had it made with almond milk and it was delicious. The woman working was helpful and friendly. They also have Vegan treats! Highly recommend! read more

Definitely not a place you'd expect to find in Waterville. They have a wide selection of teas, from maté to boba, a cup of which is about $3.50 and is served in an infuser with a cute three-part hourglass- counting down the brewing time for light, medium, or darkly brewed tea. Their coffee (especially the cappuccino) is the best in town, and their mini desserts are perfect- they often run deals and coupons for free desserts. They have great lunch options (think turkey-brie-cranberry panini and salad) but the portions are too large to eat in one sitting. Definitely a great place to spend a day studying, as their free internet is faster than any you could find on the Colby College Campus. Although the food and drinks can be slightly pricey, the quality is supreme and they have great gifts- from matcha whisks to super cute mugs- and you could not find a better place to spend a rainy afternoon with work to do. read more

Renovations have finished and Selah Tea looks awesome again. They've built a huge community table that greets people when they walk in the door. You can tell by the advertising specifically for the table that they're really proud of it. The menu has been revamped with more a la carte options for those so inclined. The tea hasn't changed, they've still got the same wide variety. The serving sizes are small for the prices. For example: home fries cost two dollars. For that price, you get maybe a measuring cup's worth of food. The eggs taste like something I'd get at Mcdonalds. The lentil curry is by far the best thing Selah Tea offers. I just wish they made it more often and were more careful about cross-contamination. They leave the lids open on their soups in the back and it's not uncommon for chunks of meat from one soup to splash into what's supposed to be a vegetarian soup. Staff is friendly but still very slow, which seems to be the standard here. If you're in a hurry, you're gonna be waiting five to ten minutes to get a to-go drink during off-hours, so be aware of that. Wifi is gated behind a password. If you have issues talking to people, you might have to settle with a sporadic Colby signal. I wish they would just post the password on the wall. They've stopped offering sweet n' low (pink sweetener) for their drinks, now they only carry two of the standard three artificial sweeteners (splenda and whatever the green sweetener is). Guess which one I use? That's right, the one they stopped supplying. There's also only three sets of salt and pepper shakers for the whole restaurant to use. This is really weird thing to decide to be frugal about. It's not uncommon for me to have to hunt around the entire restaurant for a few minutes, just to get some pepper for my food. I grumble a lot, but I've been a regular at this place since it opened. There's lots of little problems but they nail enough of the big things, like customer service, the tea and the cozy hipster environment, that I'm willing to overlook the negatives. read more

Good coffee, good breakfast, and good lunch! The bbq chicken flatbread pizza is delicious.

As good and any cafe or casual tea place I have been in. Pleasant staff. Nice items in addition to the liquids served. comfy chairs and atmosphere. I'll be back when I am back in the area. read more

This place is just okay. The pricing really didn't justify the serving size or quality of the food. It wasn't that busy and I remember the food taking forever. As soon as Colby finished their revamp downtown and some other places with vegan / gluten free options open I don't see them being competitive. The ambiance was a nice feel for one on one meet up with a friend or to get to town on some studying. Yeah, just okay. read more

I love Selah tea they have nice smoothies and nice bubble tea they also have really good chocolate, yogurt and breakfast, items. It smells really good when you walk in there. The staff are really nice helpful and friendly and to anyone traveling to Winslow I would definitely recommend them visit Selah Tea read more

As someone who depends on the wifi of local businesses, Selah's internet is the fastest that I've been able to find in the Waterville area. They have nice herbal teas and smoothies delivered by friendly staff. (I would suggest the Lavender Tea and the Energy Smoothie.) However, their food is either hit or miss. They have a small number of vegan/vegetarian options. I've gotten their veggie burger and 2 occasions within two weeks of each other; one was great and the other was cold. They serve their sandwiches with a bland, old tasting pasta salad (which doesn't add anything to the dish and shouldn't even be plated in the first place). Their food is overpriced for the quality that you receive. I'm often wary of ordering food and usually stick with the smoothies instead of eating an actual meal. The service can be slow. If you're eating with a group of more than 3, be prepared to wait a while on your food. This is more of a brunch space where you would grab tea with a couple of friends or drink a smoothie while working on your laptop. If somewhere else made better food with comparable wifi speeds, I would make the switch to them. Selah is a place you really want to like, but doesn't have anything that puts it over the top. read more

Good food, good service. I tried the Avocado brkfst sandwich and liked it a lot. Definitely coming back. Little bit on the pricey side but worth it. My wife wanted to try the mango bubble tea but could not as they were out of bubbles that day... but the waiter was very polite and she had to settle for a freshly squeezed orange juice. read more

Best fast (we'll quickish) food in Waterville. The best smoothies for sure. And I love the breakfast sandwiches

Prices are a little steep, but the food & customer services are outstanding! There is a decent variety of choices for different dietary needs/wants. read more

Overpriced food, overpriced coffee, if you're in to those kinda things the selah tea is for you. The food is good, just really small portions for the price. read more

The staff here were very nice, but the service was a bit slow, even to get a few drinks. It seemed like there could have been a more efficient use of labor. The coffee I ordered was fine- nothing to write a yelp review about, but it did the job. The chai my wife had was fairly weak-- it mostly tasted of steamed milk, despite ample time to get some flavor into it. Overall, a solid "meh". read more

We are frequent Selah Tea flyers - do yourself a favor and visit the cafe! We came for lunch and bubble teas today...the food is SO YUMMY. The customer service is very genuine and they take their time to make sure we are always fully satisfied. Great atmosphere...we will surely be back again! read more

The atmosphere is cool a great vibe... good place to relax pre covid. Serves food that's not too pricey

For those of us who are tired of driving to the Starbucks by the dreaded Walmart parking lot, Selah Tea Cafe is a great alternative. This place doesn't just sell tea, but coffee, hot chocolate, and lattes, too. There's even soy and almond milk available for you vegans and dairy-free people out there. Plus there's plenty of seating for reading, internet surfing (do they call it that anymore?), or just hanging out with friends. Selah is something that I'd expect to see more towards Portland, but Waterville is apparently building up its hipster (not just hippy) culture. Hey, there's even an Indian restaurant down the road from this place! read more

Selah tea feels like another world from the rest of waterville! Very classy, fantastic food, ridiculously fast Internet, trendy, good music, and technologically advanced. Can't go wrong with anything on the menu. It is by far the best place to sit and relax! read more

Selah Tea Cafe - The awesome relaxing space at selah! - Coffee & Tea Near Me - Waterville, Maine

I am the middle aged parent of a college student, so there's probably no point in this review. The cafe is a pleasant place to pass some time with a beverage. I'm not a tea drinker and the expresso machine was broken on the day of our visit. The coffee was lukewarm and unimpressive. The cafe is open and the atmosphere is relaxing. There is a bunch of well worn furniture and there's no pressure to leave The food is supposed to be good and Colby students apparently like to hang out, eat and study there. Fair enough. Compared to Jorgenson's, this is the French Laundry. read more

Cute space and nice atmosphere, but for a cafe they really don't know how to make a cappuccino. Can't say I'm tempted to return after sipping what tasted like straight flavor syrup and sugar. It's pretty expensive, too. read more

Good beverages. Service was a little lengthy, but they are in the throes of full-on renovations. I got a Chai latte with almond milk. It is delicious. I'll be back to see how the construction turns out. I'd like to try some of their food to get a full representation of who Selah is. Until then... read more

Very pleasant and roomy. In addition to regular café items, they sell flatbreads, etc. And there's the free wi-fi.

If you are new to Selah tea I would recommend you get the strawberry banana smoothie It tastes great and Selah tea is a good place where you could just sit down a while and do work and waste time they don't care how long you wait at a table for and if you are to meet someone online I would highly recommend you meet them here read more

I stopped into the café on Tuesday afternoon to have lunch. I really wanted a salad from Whole Foods; however the nearest one was back in Portland and I was headed north to Bangor. This is located in the town of Waterville which made it a nice little afternoon stop. I was easily able to find parking less than a block from the café. It is a rather large restaurant that they tried to make feel more like a café by adding a few couches and comfortable seats with tables to the rear of the restaurant. The atmosphere was quite relaxing, as I did not feel rushed to eat and run. It is similar to a Panera Bread; you walk up to the counter, order, and they will bring the food to your table once it is ready. There are a large number of teas on the menu, categorized by how caffeinated they are. I thought this was neat. The menu had a variety of interesting salads, sandwiches, and flat breads. The soup of the day was squash bisque or curried chicken noodle. Many of the many items were "curried." I was hoping to have a bowl of soup with my salad; however, both soup options had a good amount of cream in them. I would have enjoyed a lower calorie, lower fat soup option on the menu. I ordered a curried chicken salad and was very pleased with my choice. It had a healthy serving of chicken salad on top of greens that included raisins, apples, and just the right amount of walnuts. I was quite full when I finished my salad and pleased with my lunch. For $11, I had a nice salad and a large iced Americano. If business ever brings me back to Waterville, I would definitely stop back into the Selah Tea Café. I would probably opt for a cup of tea over a coffee. I must update my review because after several more visits, I am now a huge fan of this place! I just had a delicious pumpkin iced coffee.. so much better than Starbucks! I work nearby occasionally, and so this is also where I stop for lunch when I am on the area. Recently I had an avocado turkey wrap that was so good I can't stop thinking about it... read more

If you like the typical cozy, coffee-shop environment, then you will like this place. They play relaxing music, probably the same playlist you hear in every hipster coffee shop. You can choose among a few different places to sit: a bar area, a sectional couch area, and some basic tables and chairs. There are board games that you can play, and they have free wifi. Their prices are somewhat high, going off the quality of the drinks. For the same price at Starbucks you could get much better. The food is generally pretty good, and they have a vegan menu. They have decent bubble tea. read more

Poor service. I hate writing this review but it's time. I've been coming here for a few years and I've issues every once in a while with my order but nothing too bad. Usually because a specific worker would just forget sides, etc. They last four orders have been terrible. The first order, the girl just completely forgot to tell the cooks. Which meant that I had to wait 30 minutes extra. She never said sorry or offered a water or anything...just like oh well. The two orders after that were to go and both times side items were left off or creamer was left out of coffee. This last order, I was told that it would be ready 15-20 mins. I actually arrived 25 mins after ordering, after waiting for 20 mins finally someone asked if I needed something. They then told me it was going to be a while for an item. So basically I was there almost an hour waiting on food. And it wasn't that busy! And when I got my food it wasn't all together, I had to ask for specific items and go through every part to make sure it was there. On another note, about a year ago someone called from the restaurant to tell me that someone had used my phone number to order giftcards but the bank card (not mine) declined. It was all really odd. When I asked if the manager could call me as she said she didn't have much details, she said he would but I never received a call. My advice, is don't go here unless you have one item and it's really, really simple. Also the coffee is really bad (but it's a tea house...sooo) . read more

Reliable wifi makes this place pretty popular with the laptop toting set, it seems. But there's plenty of good reason to come whether you're plugged in or not. Huge tea selection (Don't worry; there's coffee too) and the breakfast and lunch offerings are both really good. The waffle breakfast is a great deal, especially. The employees are all very nice, and the atmosphere is inviting. Definitely worth checking out. read more

I love coming to Selah Tea. There is always a great selection of food and the drinks are great.
