Ate at Seither's on a Thursday night and was welcomed by a band playing live music. We chose to eat outside. The service was great and the staff were friendly. Started off with the crawfish rangoons as an appetizer and they were incredibly flavorful. For the main course, we had their boiled seafood--crawfish and shrimp-- and they were juicy and well-seasoned. I will definitely be back for boiled seafood and to explore the menu.

Wow, I cannot believe I am just now trying this place. It's a great atmosphere with indoor and outdoor seating super busy during Lent Fridays. I haven't seen a unique menu like this one in a long time. I ordered the Rock & Roll poboy sub blackened shrimp. This was one of my favorite dishes I have tried in a really long time. It was just a burst of flavor with every bite and all the sauces paired so well together. There is still another ten things on the menu that I would love to try. I just really appreciate a restaurants that has such unique menu items and foods that would be nearly impossible to cook or make for yourself at home. Restaurants are all about experiences and wow factors and this place is one of those for sure. This restaurant wasn't on Diner Drive In and Dives for nothing! I can't wait to come back!

The Volcano

Interesting menu. We had the volcano and the blackened shrimp and avocado salad. Both dishes were delicious. Service was quick and friendly. We would recommend this restaurant!

Incredible menu. Creative combos. Very small casual indoor dining space; nice outdoor space with fire pits and live music. Oysters were delicious and fried green tomatoes and onion rings. Next time I would order my BLT oyster po boy without all the mayo and sauce. It was too much. Fairly expensive IMO. For three people (we had no alcohol) it was $88 + tip.

Incredible seafood experience. Stopped here for dinner when I was passing through. It's a hole in the wall run by a true chef. If you're around and in the mood, you won't find better quality if you were on the boat catching it yourself and even then I doubt you have someone to prepare it for you who has more passion for what they do.

The crawfish were good, not the best I have had. The service was fantastic and the prices were good.

Took the in-laws from out of town and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. It was pretty busy but we quickly got a table outside in front of the stage. I was a little worried the band would be too loud but they weren't, we enjoyed the music but were still able to carry on a conversation. I started with the Mac and cheese and I gotta say it's some of the best I've had - ever. So very cheesy yet mild and perfect. It was a little strange to have to add corn, potatoes and sausage to my crawfish because those normally come with, but I added them anyway. I also added shrimp, they gave me so many I couldn't eat them all, flavored will too although I prefer more spicy. Husband has blacked red fish and loved it. I recommend on a nice day, indoor dinner was pretty small so I'm not sure what the experience would be when it's not nice outside.

Coworkers suggested this place for lunch today and they were spot on. They laughed at me attempting to eat crawfish but it was all fun and tasty. I went with the blackened shrimp and avocado poyboy. Excellent food. Super service. Evidently Triple D made a visit in the past. Highly recommend

First off, quaint little place. Parking is slim in the front and if you don't have a reservation you maybe waiting! However, it's small and lively! Live music is outside and available some/most nights! Secondly, service was fast and friendly! Third, the food was worth it! The kitchen is doing everything right! The hot crab dip (while heavy) was VERY GOOD. One of the best crab dips I've ever had. The blackened fish poboy (normally comes like the yellow plate), but the wife is picky and wants just fish on hers so they gave us the yellow one no extra charge! The ponchatrain was the bomb! It's the only thing I remembered to take a picture of before messing it up. When hunger calls...feed it. We will definitely be back again!

I have been coming here for years and I am never disappointed; in fact, I feel like it just keeps getting better and better. The hamper is seafood prepared like no other that reveals the genius Chef Jason is. I'm not sure what he does or how he does it, but the output and product is beyond words. The service is always meticulous. If they get it wrong, they make up for it immediately. Bottom line, they care, and that makes all the difference in the world. I love it here and love everything about it. The ambience is just what you want for a seafood restaurant. If you love seafood, you have to try Seither's. Being a seafood lover and not trying Seither's is like considering yourself a scholar and never going to school.

Alaskan Snow Crab

This place was absolutely delicious. We had huge fresh oysters on a half shell. It was delicious and tender. The Alaskan Snow Crabs were amazing. We also had their off menu seafood gumbo. Definitely coming back. And their local brews were a perfect compliment. Reservations are recommended. And don't worry about the restrooms. They are small but clean.

Took an uber here since I wanted to have a few cocktails and it was really the food that sold it for me, had a glass of wine since it became all about the food once we sat down! I will start by saying we had the best server I have had in a very long time! She was a great salesperson, knew the menu and what to recommend and the kitchen did not disappoint from what she was telling us! This was such a find. Small little family place, great food, great service and then more great food with more great service! We started with the Crawfish Boudin...delicious!! Followed those up with some grilled oysters with crab meat and cheese....I was getting full so did a 1/2 oyster po-boy which was huge, delicious and huge! some Hush-puppies thrown in, some wine...man...everything was amazing! Highly recommended and of all the places I have eaten in New Orleans this is one that I will definitely be back too! KT

We had ten people at lunch and the whole experience was wonderful. Zero complaints.(!) They were able to seat us all together in a separate room. The service was great despite the large party. Our waitress was organized and efficient. Glasses never got empty and she kept the meal well paced and moving. She was very friendly and answered all our questions. At the close of the meal, she offered to divide the bill up into separate checks(!). I think there were about five checks total for the entire group. The food was very good. I had a daily special which was BBQ shrimp & Jambalaya Grits. If you wonder what Jambalaya Grits are, think "jambalaya with grits instead of rice". It came with a little side salad that was cold and fresh. Onion rings and firecracker shrimp appetizers were tasty and very nicely done. Anecdote: coworker says that all the locals call this place "Charlie's" even though it is actually "Charles Seafood" like it says. Whatever you want to call it, I call it great. I wouldn't hesitate to go back.

We were skeptical because the menu looked pricey and you don't even get fries with a $20 large shrimp poboy. We were pleasantly surprised by the portion sizes. I always like to have leftovers to take home. I ordered a "cup" of seafood gumbo no. Now, you'll see in my photos that even bread is extra. The gumbo was great! Not so skimpy on the seafood like a lot of places. It has a good amount of spice too. Next was the poboys. We got a small shrimp (overflowing) and a fish poboy. These were also an ample size. The bread is on another level-best poboy bread I've had.

The seafood is fresh and of good quality prepared into tasty dishes. The gumbos were delicious. The blackened redfish with lump crabmeat was awesome and perfectly spiced. The fried shrimp poboy was well overstuffed and enough for two to share. The other dishes we watched being served looked very appealing as well. The wife was working hard as waitress, hostess, cashier and cleaner. Still she was pleasant and attentive though busy. Husband was busy in the kitchen so we didn't see him but the food he was preparing showed his skills and attention to details. If you're looking for a nice seafood meal in the lakeside area, find this place - you won't regret it.

One restaurant that locals constantly recommended to me was Drago's Seafood in Metairie, and now I completely understand why. I ordered the charbroiled oysters along with the crawfish platter that came with crawfish étouffée, crawfish mac and cheese, and fried crawfish. Every single thing on the table was incredible. The charbroiled oysters absolutely lived up to the hype rich, buttery, smoky, and packed with flavor. The crawfish platter was just as impressive and gave me a chance to try multiple Louisiana dishes all in one meal. What really stood out to me beyond the food was the service. The staff was extremely friendly, welcoming, and patient with questions from someone who isn't from Louisiana and still learning the local food scene. You can tell they take pride in both the restaurant and the hospitality. The only downside is parking can get a little complicated because the place fills up fast, which honestly says a lot about how popular it is. Just plan ahead or expect a short wait finding a spot. Overall, this is one of those restaurants that feels genuinely loved by locals and absolutely worth visiting if you're traveling through the New Orleans area.

My bartender, Darryl, took fantastic care of me. Vibes in this place are very warm and cozy, I sat at the bar to the right of the entrance as you walk in. I had a half dozen char grilled oysters and a cup of seafood gumbo. I see why the oysters are so popular, they are a hit. Buttery and garlicky, the crusty bread they serve with them is a great compliment to soak up the sauce. I had originally intended on getting the chicken and andouille gumbo but Darryl steered me away from it, he said it was very salty. I trusted his word and went with the seafood gumbo instead and was very pleased with it. The flavors were fantastic, but I am gonna ding it ever so slightly as I think $8.99 is kind of an obscene price for that serving size, but at least it was good. Overall I'm very satisfied with my lunch and the service, I think if you like seafood and you're in their area, you should eat here. Edit - $9 for a pint is a little over the top too, imo. My "light lunch" was $42 before the tip.
