It's about time I leave a review for Seis! There was a time a few years ago where my husband and I were sometimes ordering takeout from Seis a couple times a week. We've cut back since, but I still crave the burritos and Seis sauce all the time. My favorite items here are the chorizo y papas tacos, cochata (cold brew mixed with horchata), chicken taquitos, and puerco verde burrito with smashed beans. The burritos are pricy, but they're super filling with rice, beans, guac, cabbage, and protein. All the ingredients taste fresh. Sides of the habanero salsa and Seis sauce (kind of like a chipotle sauce) are mandatory. The outdoor patio seating at the Mercado is always a nice vibe for enjoying good weather or people watching. Such a cute spot for lunch! The decor and location is perfect. I got the tacos grande: al pastor, puc chuc, and grilled shrimp. These were some big boy tacos, definitely grande. Puc chuc is a very basic taco, no sauce. Pastor was juicy and loaded with pork. Last but not least, grilled shrimp was very fresh and flavorful. Probably my favorite taco out of the three. Service was quick and people were friendly. There were pigeons in the square but they were disciplined and the area was very clean. Would I come back if I was ever in Tuscon again? Seis is located near MSA Annex. Seating is outdoors in a beautiful patio that is perfect this time of year. You order at the window and they give you a table number to go sit. They were unfortunately out of nachos when I ordered so I got the 3 mini chimis which were good. They came out nice and hot and included guacamole. I do wish they had different flavors (all 3 were chicken). We also ordered the surf n turf burrito which was good and filling (it was a large portion). Salsas are not spicy, but have good flavor. I recently read an article that said that Seis was going to lower the cost for the meals. Well I don't think that has happened. $19.02 for two tacos and a side salad is pretty pricey in my opinion. The filling is a bit skinny. (My friend had fish tacos for the same price.) Don't get me wrong though, the tacos and the salad were incredibly delicious; just expensive. I had shrimp grilled tacos. Each taco had two fat juicy shrimps dressed with a creamy and cabbage. The server brings out fresh green and red salsa of which were mild and authentic in flavor. Grilled is good. I am not sure how and why this place was rated good. We thought for sure the place would be good with the long line we had to wait, which was close to an hour. The service was very slow and needs to be revamped. The ambiance is nice because eod the historical aspect, but it is dining outside in a courtyard patio. I orders the two tacos grande plate with cilantro rice and guacamole, a kids birria tacos, Jamaica agua fresca, and upgraded the kids beverage for $2 more to a strawberry-limón agua. 1. My fish tacos were kinda cold and one of the tacos literally had no fish. It had a sliver of the fish batter with no fish. WTH ‍. Then when I showed it to one of the male staff, he looked at it as thought nothing was wrong until I demanded a new tacos. Well guess what the tacos never arrived! Wtf again! 2. My daughter birria tacos was a big mess. 3. The cilantro rice was cold. 4. The guacamole had way too much lime juice and couldn't differentiate the creaminess of the avocado. 5. The chips were basically corn chips and not true Mexican-style tortilla chips. Tased stale. They didn't even provide enough for our group of 8 and we had to ask them to bring some for our kids sitting across from us at a different table. 6. I couldn't believe I paid $2 to upgrade the kids drink to the agua fresca. It was literally the same very small size of the kids cup. Definitely not worth the upgrade. Honestly, I left there with a bad taste and could not understand what was the hype! The birria tacos lacked flavor and what was left of fish tacos was ridiculous with no flavor. Was on a roadtrip with my dog and needed somewhere to stop and eat for the night. To be quite honest I wasn't in the mood for Mexican as I live in San Antonio and have a lot of great Mexican there. But it was open late and dog friendly and I was super happy I took the chance. It's located in a cute courtyard area with some other shops and restaurants. I grabbed a cocktail from another place nearby and was assigned a table after ordering at the seis window. The employee working was super friendly and gave me some recommendations. I ended up with the surf and turf burrito and chicharrons. Everything tasted awesome. The salsa was filled with flavors though less on the spices and more on the herbs. The burrito was mouth watering and devoured in minutes. I'm not sure I would've finished the whole thing if I hadn't skipped lunch. This is a great place to have lunch or dinner if you're in the neighborhood. First, you place your order at the counter where you will also be assigned a table somewhere in their beautiful courtyard. The food didn't take too long to come out, and it was very good. We started with the Guacamole Trio that in addition to guacamole, it comes with both red and green salsa. You get a huge bowl of chips so 4 people could easily share this. I had a Surf & Turf burrito that I could only eat half of since it was so big and loaded with steak and shrimp. My wife had the Chicken Tinga tacos that I tried, and they were also very good. I love this location of Seis Kitchen, especially in the colder seasons. I love the outdoor seating, and the counter ordering system. There's lots of seating, and it's a nice and clean plaza with shops to wander around while you wait. Their menu has lots of options and their food is great, made with fresh products. If you visit, the chips are a must try with a variety of salsas. In the fall season, their pumpkin spice horchata is to die for. This is a place I would take a first time visitor to Tucson for sure. read more

My husband and I visited the shopping district it was in previously but the line wrapped around the building so on our return to Tucson this year we finally made it. I see why the wait is so long, it's seriously delicious! We got a variety of tacos and taquitos but the loaded nachos really hit hard. I was in Tucson seeing my GI Doc and thought I'd eat something good before my long drive back to Queen Creek. I ordered the Adobe steak burrito, which was recommended by the employee as similar to a carne asada burrito. When the food was brought out it looked delicious! I paid extra for enchilada style. I bit into it and the meat had so much fat on it! I thought maybe only on one piece, but no through out the burrito chunks of fat on the meat, disgusting. I should of asked for a refund. After long hours of shopping the gem show we found ourselves at the Pueblo Show and this was within walking distance. So we headed over and first of all nailed the timing. Expect to spend anywhere from 45-75 minutes in line unless you show up around 8pm. Pro tip: grab a drink from the bar at Agustin while you wait. The fast-casual setup would be fine if the staff weren't consistently inconsistent. Last time they somehow served our dessert before my burrito, which arrived lukewarm and forgotten. Here's the thing - the service (or lack thereof) drives me nuts, but the food is just THAT good. If you have patience, low expectations for service, and appreciate amazing Mexican food, you'll probably end up like me - complaining about the wait while getting back in line monthly. Wow! One of the best places to serve Mexican style food in the Tucson area! The rice is dressed with cilantro and lime, and while the refried beans where a bit salty, they were good. The tacos were dressed with fresh toppings and perfectly seasoned and grilled meats. We also had churros and horchata for dessert which also seem to be freshly made from scratch, and well worth their price! I had been trying to come here for their fish tacos, but the first two tries were unsuccessful! They are often out of all seafood options by the dinner hour. On the second visit where they were out of seafood, I had the crispy avocado tacos and shared the nachos. Everything was tasty so we decided to make one more effort another day to get the fish tacos. I'm so glad we did, because their Mahi Mahi tacos are out of this world yummy! The shrimp tacos were also quite good. This restaurant consists of a small walk up order window where they either assign you a table or give you a number, and you can sit at a patio table. It is super cute and on some evenings there is a live performer. They do have heaters on the patio for cold desert evenings but come prepared on colder nights! read more

Amazing food, mind-blowingly inefficient process. Let's start with the positives: the food was fantastic! Now the negatives: their entire broken-ass process! When you see the line, however long you think it will take...go ahead and multiply that value by 5. You'll think the other customers are being choosy with their orders but, nope. This place throttles the line throughput like a shitty internet company. In English: they purposely "pause" the line for 5 minutes every once in a while. So, you'll get to the window and then they will "pause for the kitchen to catch up"...then you just stand there for 5 minutes waiting for them to listen to your order. It is absolultely maddening. If the issue is that the hostess needs to go help out the kitchen, maybe HIRE ANOTHER EMPLOYEE TO ONLY DO THAT. SOOO many people just left the line. Hiring more help for the kitchen would pay for itself. This place will waste 90 minutes of your life for a grab-n-go burrito. Granted it will probably be one the better ones you've ever had. There is a wonderful Tucson vibe and ambiance about this cute outdoor Hispanic food court, shopping plaza. It may the be privacy from the street as the very large courtyard is surrounded by old style buildings, I could be the pretty trees with small lights intertwined within, it could be the 6 member band playing nice music with original songs at the back of the area, or it could just be the food! My daughter had been to Seis for breakfast before but here for dinner tonight, it was very different. With the 15 minute wait to order at the Seis counter we had plenty of time to peruse the menu. So many choices! We weren't too hungry so we shared an order of the Taquitos and the Nachos Grande. We were assigned a numbered table and they brought the food to us when it was ready. Due to the popularity of this place, it took a while for the food to arrive but we didn't mind. This gave us a good amount of time to look around at the other businesses such as the Mexican bakery, Coffee Shop, and others. I spotted a walk up bar over in one corner and got a couple of happy hour margaritas for us. Seis also has some great sounding flavored waters with intriguing fruits added to them. Although we chose margartias at the other bar, these drinks looked very popular. The food was delicious as the Taquitos were crispy, stuffed with shredded chicken and topped with guacamole, cilantro, and their queso fresco. When ordering they ask if you want additional salsa and we had the medium verde salsa with our order. The Nachos Grande were fantastic! The tortilla chips are housemade, the Cochinita Pibil was the meat we chose for these nachos and they were topped off with black beans, housemade cheese sauce, sour cream, guacamole and pico de gallo and their Seis sauce (light orange in color). The nachos were a hearty portion and we couldn't finish it all (even with a second round of margaritas!). We also enjoyed speaking with an older couple at the next table about Italian heritage and playing with their friendly dog named Nora. Overall, it was a very fun and relaxing dinner. This place was nonstop busy but due to the large courtyard, it never seemed crowded. It is a great place when you want a long, slow meal with great ambiance and great food. read more
