Hazelnut Einspanner

Trying a new place is also risky business. A little plain inside but a nice place to work or relax for a moment. I bought a hazelnut einspanner and I have mixed feelings about this. It's giving mid but I can see this being a favorite for many. It's a great location and option for those that have court business. It's a great option instead of a pot of bitter coffee.

Amazing service and amazing food! Definitely making this a stop before the movies! It's very clean and they had AC so it quite literally was the perfect stop while I waited for my movie to start.

We tried the sea salt caramel latte and the cookie butter latte, and both were pretty good. The flavors are fun and worth a try. My one bummer: they charge extra for almond and oat milk, which adds up for us. Still a solid stop for a sweet coffee treat.

Norwalk Early Bird

I was really excited to try this new spot as a local, but unfortunately, my first experience was pretty disappointing. I ordered the Iced Madagascar Vanilla Cream Coffee and the Norwalk Early Bird on a croissant, both to go. I waited 30+ minutes from the time I arrived until I received my food, and the restaurant wasn't even busy. When I finally asked about my order, the staff told me they had misplaced my order ticket, meaning my food hadn't even been started. If I hadn't asked, I'm not sure how much longer I would have been waiting. When I finally received my food, I was disappointed. After waiting over 30 minutes and paying around $12, I didn't feel like the food was worth the price. The portion was small and the food itself was pretty basic. I also noticed a family next to me had been waiting a long time for their food and eventually had to ask about their order as well. I'm not sure what explanation they were given, but it seemed like there was an issue with the system for getting orders out in a timely manner. Hopefully they can improve their order system and communication because the long wait, especially when the restaurant wasn't busy, really took away from the experience. The only reason I would consider returning is for the coffee.

OH WHAT! They opened in Norwalk and I didn't know about it until now?! I used to go to the Buena Park location but so happy they opened nearby where I live. It seems they opened few weeks ago (found it by accident). It used to be Taliza (still have that vibe interior design wise)... but the drinks are still the same... A LOT more food options than their Buena Park location. I also recognized some of the workers there from the Buena Park location :) So here's the details: * Ceremonial matcha latte (iced, oat, 1 pump sweetness) - GOOD! Just as I remembered. I like my matcha more on the bitter side. Quality is better from when I used to come here for Taliza's matcha. * Norwalk Early Bird - pretty basic, tastes exactly as it is. Can't complain. Not too heavy with my matcha drink. In short, don't expect nothing fancy when it comes to food but definitely, you can bet the drinks are still top notch. Lot more spacious to hang out and study inside. I came to work remotely and WiFi's speed is not bad. At 11am on a Wed, not too busy. But won't be surprised how popular this place will get soon! Will come again! :)

They have a wonderful lunch and breakfast menu. If in the area it's definitely a place you should stop in and visit. The staff is wonderful and friendly; they gave great service and the restaurant setting is very relaxed with areas you can sit and do your work in if needed. A true cafe in the world of rare real cafe's that feel inviting.

Glad they opened a different location from Buena Park. Definitely different vibes and they have a food selections here. Service was a little bit slower, about a 20 minute wait for two drinks unfortunately and they don't accept the stamped cards yet, but considering they're new and it's the same great tasting drinks.

I've been going to the Buena Park location for years, and I'm so happy there's one closer to me! The cookie butter latte was delicious. The staff were super friendly and helpful. There's plenty of seating as well.

Double matcha cloud

The double matcha is one of the best I've had! The place is very cute and the people working there are very nice!

Peanut butter latte and cookie butter latte

Great service and the coffee was amazing. I got the peanut butter latte and the cookie butter. 10/10 the place is clean and looks like a great place to work

Norwalk early bird

Spanish latte and the Norwalk early bird sandwich was the perfect combo. Service is amazing, staff is well informed on menu and friendly! The breakfast plate was underwhelming especially the potatoes. Definitely could do without the AI menus that are posted. Prices are good I'll be back.

A hidden gem of a coffee shop especially for a remote work parent like me! They're a Filipino owned…read moresmall business and their menu reflects those iconic Filipino/asian flavors. The white rabbit matcha and buko pandan latte are my go-tos. They've also expanded their food menu since I've been coming here and have pastries, toasts, and burritos. They have a fridge of pies that are some of the best I've ever had in my lifeeeeee too. Get the sunday in June (ube crème brûlée) and thank me later. This place has become a frequent spot for me to take my toddler when I need to get work done. There's lots of outlets and even a tiny corner of toys where your toddler can play. The staff is always so kind and after spending so much time here watching the staff interact with the community, you can tell that they've built something special here! We always come back and I encourage you to check it out!

Ok, she wants us to read the menu. Which is no problem, but wait - the menu does *not* actually even list the syrups. Which is why we asked in the first place. So what, she just wants us stand and read the whole thing over again and hopes that we find the syrup we like within the name of another drink or? And girl why are you hollering!! Ok and when we were waiting for our drinks, the loud barista would shout at the machine because it wasn't doing what she wanted! Mind you, the store has a slight echo because of hard floor and no music. The vibe is so weird, like I can't lmao. It's not that serious but it's weird. High cortisol energy.

Not sure how I haven't been here sooner!…read more There are SO many specialty coffee shops opening up, but if you're looking for actual coffee and not a dessert disguised as a coffee drink, this place definitely stands out. The quality of their coffee is AMAZING! Parking: Parking is located in the back, and the entrance to the back lot is on Commonwealth Ave. Look for a small sign with their company logo. Parking was relatively easy on a Thursday afternoon, although I can definitely see it getting more difficult during peak hours. What we got: Madagascar Vanilla Cream -- $6.75 SO GOOD. I completely agree with everyone mentioning the sweetness level. To me, it was perfectly sweet and not overly sugary, even with the Madagascar vanilla cream on top. What I loved most was that the coffee flavor was still very noticeable. The milk and cream didn't overwhelm the coffee, and their house-made syrup tasted natural rather than artificial. Definitely one of those drinks where I could actually taste the coffee instead of just drinking a sweet dessert! Iced Americano -- $4.00 My partner really enjoyed this! They make a solid Americano. We've been to other coffee shops where there's literally coffee grounds sitting at the bottom of the cup , so I was very happy to see none of that here. The shop itself is relatively small, with around 4 tables inside. I noticed one outlet near the larger table. They have WiFi, so it's still a decent spot to get some work done. There's also a small outdoor patio in the parking lot with a few tables, and restrooms are available. Another thing I really love is their mission and commitment to inclusivity. They hire adult employees with developmental disabilities, which is amazing. They also have stamp cards for both drinks AND their own coffee beans. Definitely adding this to my list of coffee shops to come back to. I'll absolutely be returning!

A Welcome Addition to West Whittier…read more I visit this Philz Coffee location whenever I'm back in town visiting family, and it has consistently been a great experience. The staff are always friendly, welcoming, and knowledgeable, and they're especially helpful when I have questions about the menu. I don't actually purchase coffee that often. When I do, it's usually either Philz or a local mom-and-pop coffee shop/hole-in-the-wall. So whenever I walk into a Philz, there's usually something new for me to try or ask about. On my most recent visit, I also realized I had somehow created two Philz accounts. After placing my order, I asked the cashier if they could be merged, and they kindly provided me with the appropriate customer service email rather than leaving me to figure it out myself. I also asked about their cold brew. I ordered my usual Honey Haze, but I wanted to treat my grandmother to a coffee as well. She loves coffee and drinks it black -- usually a medium roast that she brews in a big batch at home. The cashier recommended the Mission Cold Brew, so I decided to give it a try for her. I delivered it to my grandmother later that day, knowing she would probably save it for the next morning since caffeine too late in the day can interfere with her sleep. I followed up with her the next day, and she loved it! That recommendation definitely earned some points with both of us. The Whittier location is consistently clean, the staff are friendly and knowledgeable, and I appreciate having Philz as another coffee option in West Whittier and The Groves Whittier. It's always nice when a new addition to the neighborhood actually feels like a welcome one.

I'm an unsweetened iced cold brew/Americano gal with a new obsession for espresso tonics so rarely find myself at a Philz. Allison was at the register and was so patient with my order since I was unfamiliar with their menu. I've literally only tried their mint mojito since that's what they're known for! When I received my order, I was kindly educated on different coffees Philz offers by Yamile! She was so knowledgeable about everything and my cold brew was delicious. I was having a weird day so the positive encounter helped alleviate some of my anxiety. Thank you ladies! Ambience: the store is spacious, clean, has AC blasting & also has tables with umbrellas outside. Parking: there's ample free parking available I'll be visiting again when I'm in the area! Hope to run into Allison & Yamile again!
