I have such fond memories of this place. My mom used to bring me here all the time when I was younger to pick out chocolate and candy as a special treat. Now I get to take her for a treat, how the tables have turned! The store is just how I remember it: a cute little shop tucked into the corner of the mall, bright and welcoming, filled with friendly smiles and delicious goodies. The price per pound has definitely gone up over the years, but hey... that's inflation for you. If you still have the one-pound coupons, they'll honor them! What a great little store. I wish more stores were like Sees at times. Went in to get some last minute chocolates for my mother and wife and was happily greeted by Emmily (I think that was her name). She quickly packed up a custom half pound box and was so pleasant about it even though a line had formed since I entered. Rang me up and out I went but it left an impression on me as to how much I appreciate personal and kind service. I have always had great service here and they have to put up with a TON of greedy people trying to get their sample/s for free. Customer Service: I was welcome right away by Irene! She immediately offered me a piece of chocolate! She asked what type of chocolate I liked and gave suggestions! Irene was super friendly! She also gave me a booklet of plenty of chocolates, along with the photos and descriptions of each item! Milk Almond Bud: What a delicious mix of milk chocolate, almonds, and vanilla caramel! As we were looking around, they offered us samples like they usually do. Checkout was a breeze and it was really nice seeing a nice, fat, friendly smile during our whole interaction in the store. See's Candies is a bit pricey but the quality is still there. Sam is the one usually there awaiting with a smile asking if you would like to try anything today. This location is located inside Los Cerritos Center (AKA: The Cerritos Mall). It's down one of the lesser traveled halls of the mall so you might miss it if you're not looking for it. Once you find it you'll see the familiar squeaky clean decor and old-fashioned employee garb that's been around for generations. Various boxes of chocolates line one wall and individual chocolates are on display for purchase in the glass case next to the register, just like every other location. I came to purchase the small silver box of assorted chocolates to share with coworkers. The woman working here was friendly and charming, letting me know of the special offers that day and making sure I got my free sample chocolate. I don't think I have ever met anyone who had anything negative to say about this oh so perfect chocolate' The lollipops and the nuts and chews are amazing! I tried the truffles a couple times too and they were good. The bits and chews though are absolutely spectacular! We left a while ago. Picked up some lollipops and a 2 pound box of the nuts and chews. As we walked up, we noticed they had an outdoor shop outside as well. There's something f about being inside the black and white shop though that is so amazing. Could it be the smell of chocolate or just looking at all the amazing holiday treats? It is a good size store with all the candies and pops you would expect from any See's store. The store is spotless and the service is ever so kind and sweet. It can be busy, but don't let that deter you, the service is fast. They have so many types of chocolates, even chocolate bars. My favorite candy is the dark chocolate with orange filling. I had to get some candies for the boss, which usually translates for me to go to Costco and get the 2 x 1 lbs certificates which are now $22.99. During the holidays, you can't go wrong with their box of Assorted Chocolates or Nuts & Chews (they're gift wrapped as well). I like their bite size Cafe Latte Little Pops. If you buy more than 2 boxes, each additional box comes at a lower price, so if you know what you want, it's better to stock up. They're not too sweet and 4 pieces are just 50 calories with 4 grams of sugar. This past Christmas, someone got me a can of their Toffee-ettes and they're the BOMB. Probably, not all that great for you if you eat a lot in one sitting but isn't this the reason why you go to the gym? Compared to the other chocolate retailers such as Godiva or Ghirardelli, See's Candy doesn't seem all that expensive. I guess I'm not a chocolate connoisseur since they all pretty much taste the same to me. Spoiled from years of Belgian chocolate, my father changed his mind about approaching the box once we told him it was See's. The assorted box doesn't have a paper that names its contents. The shells don't feel right, lacking a depth of flavor. There should be a bold fruit accent to compliment the chocolate instead of overwhelming it with something that's supposed to be caramel or marshmallow.
