Lovely winery off the beaten path. It's a short drive from OK Falls, and overlooks the valley. Nice setup with plenty of seating, tables, and games. They do tasting flights, which is different than most wineries that do each wine individually and talk you through it. I prefer this more casual approach. They're happy to explain and discuss anything but it's less pressure. You can buy a bottle to share and drink it on the patio. This is a well known winery with an extensive set up. They have multiple seating areas, including a large patio deck and love sized games like comment 4 down on the greenery. The vineyards are extensive and there's a great view. It's a bit off the beaten path so to speak to get here but it's a popular place. The gift shop is very large with a huge selection of wines plus cookbooks and other gifts, including pet items. There's a selection of flights. The waiter was also really nice and brought us some glasses of sparkling that we wanted to try that were off the menu. read more

On our first trip through Okanagan wine country last year (2016), we hit up 60 wineries over a week. Oddly, one winery we skipped was See Ya Later Ranch. I know there's joke there somewhere, a bad pun I could be making...ummm...maybe if we drove by and waved without visiting? But the issue is that you cannot simply drive by. It's remote, the only renowned location on the west side of Okanogan River between Skaha and Vaseux Lake and with no nearby bridges, one must commit to the diversion. On the previous trip, we drove north from Osoyoos, and with more wines on the east side and no direct route to the Ranch without driving further north, we would have to drive through Okanagan Falls three times. You must want to focus on See Ya Later Ranch, potentially eliminating the opportunity to visit amazing wineries on the opposite side of the river like Wild Goose, Stag's Hollow, or Liquidity. And...we were totally wrong. You should obviously not miss this place. Drive through the Falls as many times as required. Or, if you are like us, take another wine trip nine months later and skip those other wineries. See Ya Later Ranch is a sprawling complex, one of the larger wineries in the area, more closely like those found South of Oliver. The views are amazing, the wines memorable, and it has probably one of the best picnic spots for miles. There are several spots to sit, and the hosts are very generous. Skipping this place the first time was a mistake. My recommendation is to get here early, pass through Okanagan Falls to the eastern wineries like the ones I just mentioned, then pass through again not to miss Kraze Legz and then...AGAIN...to travel north on the east side to hit up Blasted Church, Synchromesh and all those...ok, look, you're going to have to be efficient here. Okanagan Falls wine country is shaped like an "H" with the town forming the bridge. There are destinations along every leg; you're just going to have to figure out a way to fit them all in. But the point is See Ya Later Ranch is not one to be missed, not unless you want to make numerous trips here. read more

Had an absolute blast at See Ya Later ranch. The dog friendly grounds are a great way to go taste some wine and avoid putting your dog in boarding for the day. Very friendly staff offered interesting history and education. The wine is amazing. They don't ship their club packs to Calgary, so they do offer Albertans an upfront discount instead. My wife paid the bills for once while I just enjoyed the ambience, so I have no complaints! Exquisite lunch on a beautiful summer day in 2019 with nice mountain views. This was the only winery we visited in the great Okanagan wine country, it was founded by some eccentric gentleman who thought dogs go to heaven--his dog cemetery being a much-photographed patch of ground. read more

Well worth the journey up the mountain to get here. After the winding, not so smooth road, the gorgeous stone tasting room was like an oasis in the desert. The vistas from their patio were absolutely spectacular. David, the gentleman assisting us with our tastings, was the most pleasant and knowledgeable that we encountered all day. Making it even better, See Ya Later has the valley's best tasting Pinot Noir, hands down. Their 2008 Ping, a red meritage named after the owners late dog, was also excellent. We were so impressed with those two wines that we even picked up a few extra bottles for my husband to take with him on an upcoming business trip to South Africa as gifts. Also, how can you not love a place that is so supportive of canine charities. Major kudos for having the shaded dog corral for people to bring their dogs when they are in for tasting and having the area in the store devoted to supporting the BCSPCA. read more

Just opened my wine bottle on this Halloween to remember treasured times. I visited this winery two years ago with my mother. The place has an adorable gift shop. We were there with a free tasting pass and the staff were very friendly and accommodating. I loved the antique truck outside and the surrounding scenery is mystical. The dog love and beautiful wines were absolutely a treat. If I can visit again next year, I most certainly will! read more

The tastings here are great, the selection of wines are decent - a little bit for everyone - sweet, dry, red, white. The patio is amazing, the food is decent though pricey for what you get. But the view? Worth every penny. And while we were there, we watched a man propose marriage to his girlfriend - the entire patio clapped. read more

Formerly Hawthorne Mountain Vineyards, See Ya Later Ranch sits atop Hawthorne Mountain, and from a distance it almost looks as though the rows of plants could slide right off of it. This is one of the highest altitude wineries in Canada and is more of a destination winery as it requires a bit of a deviation from the beaten path. Do not be deceived by the quaint exterior of the See Ya Later wine shop- it looks much smaller than it actually is, and the tasting room within is open, spacious and has plenty of windows- allowing tasters to enjoy the spectacular view of Skaha Lake and beyond while they try some wines. In the summer season, they offer lunch service on its outdoor patio- also with a view. Tours of the winery facility are not available, however vineyard tours are. See Ya Later makes a point of being especially welcoming to dogs, with a "Barking Lot" out front where patrons can park their pooches while they taste. The dogs are supplied with water dishes. There is a dog theme to the wines, as the former owner of the See Ya Later Ranch was a canine enthusiast. Notes on Tastings: The tasting room at See Ya Later Ranch is very simple and bright with a fantastic view. The staff are knowledgeable of the wines and history of the winery, as well as of the Okanagan. Last Word: Though a little out of the way, See Ya Later was one of our favourite experiences. read more

Giving a star rating is hard because the view & wine/s are a 5+ but we went for lunch today and left very disappointed. Fish tacos? Ok I can appreciate different interpretations to the humble taco, however this taco was the size of a rice cracker & tasted more like church communion wafers than a tortilla & with portions that small it was hard for my husband to tell it was even fish. Definitely expected more for $18. We also ordered oysters @ $3 each min order of 3. But we couldn't order 4? No complaints about the oysters, but really missed fresh horseradish and/or hot sauce. I ordered the chicken sandwich, it was tasty however for $16 I expected a whole sandwich not the half I got. Best advice for others is not to go here hungry read more

A great visit! The tastings are amazing, and the money goes to the BC Humane Society. The view was fantastic, and the staff were the most approachable, and friendly we had on our winery crawl that day. The lady let our dog come in and sit by us while we tasted all their blends. Unfortunately it was raining and so the cooks all went home, we wanted to get food there. We will have to go back so we can sit on the patio and eat! read more

I think Canada's definition of dog friendly is quite different from my definition living in Seattle - which is fine, different rules and regulations. At this winery, dogs remain outside and are not actually allowed on the patio even, just to be clear. In any case, we enjoyed our wine tasting and bites immensely here! Each of the wines selected for the tasting were unique, and each bite pairing truly stepped up the flavors of the wine to a new level. The gal assisting us was friendly and welcoming, sharing which wines she enjoys at home and with what foods or snacks. Came home with several bottles of our favorite red of the day (Major's) which was paired with some sharp cheddar and ridiculously good. Bonus tidbit: apparently they did a pairing with snack foods before, and this wine was paired with Cheetos - which makes me ridiculously happy that this winery understands that as much as we all want to be fancy and enjoy our wines properly, sometimes life happens and you just need a damn glass of wine, so you might as well make it a good one. read more

We visited this restaurant this week because of a favorable comment from a friend and now wish that we had gone elsewhere. When we arrived there were maybe 9 customers already seated. We waited 10 minutes for menus to arrive and then another 10-15 minutes for our sandwiches and soup to make it to our table, by which time we were ready to simply leave. In a word, the service was terrible. The soup was literally scalding hot and the roof of my mouth is still burned 3 days later. The sandwiches were tough and ultra sloppy as they oozed all over the wood plate that they arrived on. Our server had zero interest in our experience there. We will not be back. read more

Possibly the best ice-wine I have ever had is here; like liquid gold - is said to have notes of apricot and honey. 200 mL is $30, 500 is $50... I think. Wine tastings are 3$ for 5 wines. Ice wine tastings seperate price of 2$, as is their sparkling wine. Has grape vines sloping over you as you walk to the ranch, to have a sampling of the grapes that were used for your wine. Also has a lovely restaurant to overlook the Penticton area. Most wines sell for 15$. read more

What a windy drive up a mountain to get to this vineyard but seriously oh so worth it! The view is stunning and the wines are pretty great as well. I thought this place was very reasonably priced which made it very attractive to people who may not want to spend a ton on wines. Never the less the wine is good, lots of great bubbles and red wine in my opinion! I love that their wines are based off dogs, it's such a great space and as a dog owner it really hods a place in my heart. Definitely worth the visit! read more

Stunning view and in my opinion, increasingly good wines, looking back down towards Skaha Lake. The drive (or cycle, if you're feeling fit) is wonderful too. This was the worst experience at a winery I have ever had. A group of four of us had choosen this destination and were extremely disssapointed. The wine was below par for the tasting. Then, we decided to give lunch a chance. Well, the hostess was casually chitchatting with a co-worker as empty tables waited for us. She told us to wait, while we watched & listened to her having a mindless conversation. Then, she finally sat us down. We waited half an hour in the blistering sun, and watched people that came in after us being served. We spent lots of $$$ at other wineries along the way and after, but this time, we had to walk out...SEE YA NEVER again. read more

The setting for this vineyard is beautiful, the views from the restaurant patio are amazing. My friend and I were looking forward to having lunch here, sadly the food was terrible, really terrible! Super disappointed... They advertise as being very dog friendly, there is dog stuff everywhere. What they fail to have anywhere is a sign saying dogs are not allowed during certain hours. We called ahead saying we were coming with 3 dogs, drove up a windy road in the rain, walked into the winery and everything seemed fine. We were talking to staff and getting set up to do a tasting with the 5 of us. Just as the first wine was about to be poured a short hair blonde woman, I believe Trudy was the name, came up to us and told us to leave. She was incredibly rude and told us to tie the 3 small dogs outside in the rain. She said it was because the restaurant was open, which is understandable, however we called ahead was told it was OK and they ADVERTISE as dog friendly. There wasn't even anyone dining at the time. It's a shame, the 5 of us bought over 4 cases of wine at 5 other wineries that day, they lost out on our business forever. We drove right up the road to a winery called nighthawk, and we're treated amazing! read more
