With vendors from local wineries and eateries, there will be something here for everyone in your crew. Grabbed a beer flight at Neighborhood Brewing - standouts were the Lime Lager and IPA. Ladies in my party had cocktails at Workshop Spirits, thinking they were great and refreshing. We all gathered for food at Ward's. We had the nachos and Potato Confit Flatbread - both were super good, including the cilantro crema of the nachos. The peach Bellini machine wasn't ready when we first arrived, but by the end it was available to give us testers and we might come back just for those. TIP: drinks can only be consumed in the patio of the establishment you're buying from, but food can be delivered to any of those patios. Centre seating is table service by Ward's that allows you a taste of beverages from any of the vendors. Also, the water features around the center are pet (and people) friendly for cooling off on a hot day. The outdoor environment, even on a hot day, was a nice setting for appreciating the surrounding area. Also enjoyed the acknowledgment of First Nations' people who first inhabited the area (like all good Canadian establishments).

That's sixty wineries, not an exaggeration. We ended the trip with 120 bottles acquired. Recommending a specific location for a wine trip in the Okanagan is like dialing the chevrons on the Stargate. Yeah...wow, I totally went there. I had started thinking about how you need a specific location and then a point of origin, and the connection to that old movie just dribbled to the surface. Regardless, before a suggestion, you need a point of origin. From the North, start with Kelowna. From the South, it's Osoyoos. If only rationed a few days, it comes down to those two, with Naramata the real reward for those dedicating more than a weekend to such a vacation. Thus, the BC branch of Jackson Triggs and Inniskillin (copy-pasted from here on because I know I'm going to get the spelling wrong at some point) is bizarre in that it sits away from basically everywhere. It's the only winery between Oliver and Okanagan Falls, or at least just before you reach the latter. So, unless you're on an extended trip, it's unlikely you'll take the trip. For us, it was an easy stop between larger concentrations of wineries. We left Osoyoos earlier so reached the complex just before its opening. I can see this place being busy during the afternoon, but at this morning, we had the place to ourselves. Unlike many other wineries in the region, Jackson Triggs / Inniskillin feels corporate, not unlike the Sandhill Winery near the dead center of Kelowna. As such, Jackson Triggs / Inniskillin a tad bit more sterile compared to others. With Naramata, you are most likely talking to owners or winemakers. Just around the corner sits the colossal steel drums that don't look dissimilar to the hyperboloid cooling towers of a nuclear power plant (and yes, I had to look that up). Inside, it is mostly dark wood and contrasting ceramic countertops. There is a larger tasting lounge when it gets busy, but for us, it was the standard bar. There was a good selection of wine, though this was a location for the girlfriend, not me. I don't mind the Inniskillin Icewines, but I have always personally placed the Jackson Triggs at just above mediocre. But if traveling between Okanagan Falls and Oliver, this is a great stopover between more distant locations.

I know charcuterie boards are having a moment and Nighthawk's is by far the best.....nothing else comes close, anywhere. But this review is about their bed & breakfast accommodations. My wife and I stayed there recently while attending a family reunion down at the lake. After all the frenetic family activity at the lake, the solitude and quiet of the tent house were just what the doctor ordered. Enjoying the view of the vineyard and lake from the porch was very relaxing. The location is remote enough that there are no lights to block out the stars. The only sounds at night were the breeze rustling the Ponderosa pines and the owls calling to each other from one side of the valley to the other. And the breakfasts, like the regular bistro fare, were simple, but elegant and exquisite: Fresh pastries, local fruit, and probably the best coffee in the Okanagan. This was how every day should start and end. Christy and Daniel really know how to run an inn. I cannot recommend this place enough, for all the experiences. We will definitely be back.

Nighthawk Vineyards…read more Having visited over 100 wineries in the Okanagan region over the course of a year, I hope my opinion carries some weight by saying Nighthawk Vineyards has the best view in the entire Okanagan. There's a valley with a lake sitting at the base. Vineyards crawling up to the winery. A solemn log house fringing freshly cut grassy hills--look, I got photos, just check those out. It's a narrow margin, I will admit. I mean, when you consider Bench 1775 or Arrowleaf, second place is not that far behind. But at the end, I must admit that Nighthawk takes the top prize. We would have remained longer if we hadn't enjoyed a picnic at See Ya Later Ranch the hour previously or if it hadn't been hotter than the surface of Venus that day. Yes, I am exaggerating; it was like 32 degrees, but I am from Northern Canada, so there. Nighthawk is further out than See Ya Later, so a further diversion down a road you probably were unsure about being on. You certainly cannot drive past it. It's a destination. My group and I had figured since we were out this way, we might as well hit up another one. And you should to--this place is incredible. Admittedly, there is bias--we were the only ones there that time, so we had the grounds to ourselves as well as the host's undivided attention. The wine was good as well, obviously a requirement. While my friends bought wine, I scored a 2016 Late Harvest "Gew". Yes, "gew". A host referred to a Gewurztraminer as a "gew" and I've been doing that ever since. Yes, it annoys people, and I don't care, like whenever I laugh my head off each time I refer to a Crate & Barrel as "Craate and Baarrel" (long story). If you ever need help pronouncing it, just remember "girls are meaner." Nighthawk is a great place and if you are coming out here for See Ya Later Ranch, another must-see location, making it two, justifying the diversion even more.

We loved our visits with Bill in the Wine cabin, tasting is beautiful wines. Now, Duermott and Danielle have taken up the barrel, and are continuing the stewardship of the terroir. We came down for the Pig Out 2025 festival and made our mandatory visit to the winery. We brought our own picnic, sat on the large deck, which has a breathtaking view of the golf course and the valley below. The sky was blue-blue-blue, the sun hot, we were grateful for the massive sail shade. Savanna, the lady working in the tasting room was attentive and kind. We had a wonderful tasting, excellent wine - but I have to say "The Rose made the day". Cool, refreshing - and meeting all of the tasting notes. It paired well with the charcuterie. Thank you both, Danielle and Duermott for your exceptional hospitality. Finally, a wine club where I don't feel like a 'face-less' number. All the best for the growing season.

Every single red was incredible and I loved each one! They also have 2 wines that are not available for tasting (Madcap - predominantly Merlot and Two Hoots - predominantly Cab Sauv). These were both excellent table wines. Super easy to drink! Thank you Sue and Fairview Cellars for your outstanding service and wine!
