We got to sit on the patio and It was very beautiful overlooking the golf course and skyline. The staff were exceptional and brought blankets for those who were cold. Kid friendly and the staff are very patient and helpful. Also, the offer food for most dietary restrictions (which is a huge plus). The golf course is stunning and people are very friendly. It is so well maintained and every golf cart is sanitized for use. Defiantly an amazing experience and a great way to spend your day!

The views are spectacular and there are plenty of wineries nearby if you are so inclined. There is a lovely club house with outdoor patio seating, which can be a bit too warm in the sun. Twilight and Twilight heat are great ways to beat the sun when it's too warm out. Good food friendly staff. Really enjoy it here.

The two-star "Meh" is for a few isolated events that sour my review. I was taken aback when I went…read moreto pick up my chip and was asked to "make a donation in exchange for a chip strap." That's not a donation. That's a sale. A donation, by definition, does not include an exchange of a good and/or service. If it was, can I file a $5 deduction with the IRS? (No. I now have a cheap strap to show for my $5.) They provided a chip, but no way to affix it to your ankle, so unless you already owned a strap, they put you in a position where you had to buy one. And conveniently they only took cash. I was also surprised that Ironman Canada ran out of water on the bike course. They didn't run out of hydration, but there were stops that had no water. How many years experience do they have? I also think the medal, which is very small, made of plastic, and adorned with a very generic, unadorned ribbon, looks chintzy. And the finisher shirt is a very odd color. Is that purple? Glad I bought a nicer one at the Expo. And by the way, who cares if the pre-race Expo shirts don't say finisher. Anyone can buy one, so it's not like they only sell to finishers.

Awesome Race Awesome venue…read more I wold have given it a 5 star except for how the new race directors have tried to change the format so much with more focusing on their apparent need for financial profit and to take the uniqueness of this race to mold it into another North American ironman race. Great having locals announce for the race with their focus on uniqueness and great humor and some genuineness in the way the this race and venue has always been Mike Reilly is great for the uniqueness of the American Ironman races but that is his expertise. Love this race. Done it multiple times and enjoy it muchly except for the last 2 years which made me give it a "4 star" rating but on saying that, I know that this race is a business and without the people making their profits, it might now be held in the same place and with it's uniqueness
