Ok first off, let me say I've been a lens crafters patron for over 20 years. Back when I had…read moreexcellent insurance coverage with low deductibles and great coverage, I spent on average 500.00 for a pie of glasses. No big deal, I was working and doing well. So I paid it without pain. I retired early at age 62 and was without any insurance. Ordered glasses at LensCrafters as always and paid little attention to price but was woken up fast at the price of glasses!! But, the lens crafters people miraculously reached in the drawer and pulled out coupons and bang! My glasses cost around 500.00. Now I finally turned 65, and have coverage again, immediately went to renew my prescription and get new glasses, guess what the price was for bare minimum glasses? Old style metal frames, no new tech... 579.00!!! Now I'm on fixed income and learning to pay attention to prices so I asked them if they could help out with a manufacturers coupon or something... the junior optician just said .."nope!" So I took my prescription and walked out. Went around the corner to vision quest and the same glasses WITH the bells and whistles cost 300.00! Shame on lens crafters! They lost me forever! Now I must comment that Dr. Beal and his staff in the back were amazing and I will always use them for my yearly checkup!

Anyway, Redell took his time with me, and was very thorough with answers. While with me, he greeted everyone that walked into the store. I like that. He cares about customer service and he cared about me! I don't find that kind of caring many places these days. Every associate in the store was as welcoming and took the time with their customers. So, kudos to Redell and his staff. I will be back to see him! Thank you.

They also have a large beer and wine selection behind the Banter stall where you can choose any six-pack or bottle you want and drink it inside or take it home. Inside the I love On The Rise Bakery and Rising Star Coffee inside the Market Hall. They also have Craft Collective which serves lots of craft beers and wines by the glass. There's lots of seating and tables to enjoy your meal, work, meet with friends, etc. One of my favorite spots in the VAD is The Corner. It's a small section in the Market Hall that sells little treats, jeweler, candles, etc. from local makers and small business owners. It's always fun to see what they have there and good to support these businesses.

We had a great time strolling around inside and out. The district has a nice selection of stores. There is everything from a plant store (Stump) to ice cream (Mitchell's), to clothing stores (Clevelan Clothing Company and others). There is definitely a focus on more local goods and shops. The area is not expansive so it is easy to stroll around and see everything in a short period of time. Had it been warmer I would have liked to sit outside with a coffee.

Yelpers, I went to…read morethis location to schedule an eye exam and the African American eye exam associate was rude and intolerable. Her eyes stayed fixated on the computer when I approached as she indifferently asked if I was paying with insurance. I asked if they take my insurance to which she stated, "oh I've never heard of that". Huh? Aren't you supposed to look it up instead of depending on your memory/ intelligence to decide if it's accepted? I simply asked, "can you look it up"? She begrudgingly asked for my details and then gave me bogus information about other insurance I had used when I last purchased from there. Ma'am, please stop I've never used insurance when purchasing my glasses. She confirmed this fact after asking for my information again. After stating that without insurance the exam would be $130 I decided to try mine. She said, "do you have a card"? I said I know the information, it's called ---, what other information do you need"? She then looked to her coworker to ask her if she can help her tell me what was needed because "she keeps giving me the name". OMG, I was standing right there! I literally asked her what else she needed. I told her coworker never mind after the coworker attempted to explain what the rude employee needed. Visionworks, is this what what your service has come to? Ghetto and rude employees with zero customer service skills? She was mad that I interrupted whatever she was doing on the computer and lost the company probably about $500 in less than five minutes. Great job!! SMH

I originally had this review with one star. Then I remembered the staff that has helped me and how awesome they are. The staff I've worked with get five stars all day.

The doctor is very nice and her part of the business is exceptional. She listens to what you have to say as well as offers advice and helps you understand what may be going on with your vision.. The girls doing the glasses i have had some off experiences with. I recently purchased lenses and frames and was told i had 30 days if i wanted to get the better lenses. When i was originally quoted i was told it would be about 30 dollars more a lens to get the transitions. Well when i called back to change my mind and get the transitions about a week later i was told that quote was not correct(wish i had gotten it on paper) and was informed it would actually be about 200 more then what i had already paid... This was my only issue with them.. Other then that they seem to be ok.

Both instances the doctor, without any disclosure, gave exams for the most expensive contact lenses (over $1,000 for 6 month supply). Neither the contacts nor the exam for these expensive contacts were covered by our insurance, which Pearle was aware. They charged us $100 per exam. I had to go and speak to the 'manager' on two separate occasions to get these charges reversed. We asked for a price list for the second contacts. The 'manager' claimed to email it to us, never received it. After two visits and multiple calls and in person meetings with the 'manager' and Dr. Chim the office called to place order for my daughter's contacts. Our insurance gives us $150 towards contacts annually, which has always been adequate - maybe adding another $50. The agent called and I specifically authorized that they only order enough boxed that would be totally covered by the insurance $150 stipend. We pick up six boxes of contacts. A month later we receive an invoice for over $650!! Today, I went to the Legacy Village Pearle for the fifth and final time to return the four unopened boxes of contacts and demand they be taken off my invoice as I had not authorized the purchase. I was informed that they only order contacts after obtaining a credit card payment. I asked, "then why are you billing me for $650!!" After having to request a receipt showing that I returned the four boxes of contacts (pardon if I don't take their word about noting the return in my daughter's records!!) I left the store for the last time. I will never step foot in that establishment again.
