I asked the…read moreoptician multiple times about what lens were in my glasses after informing them of have issues I was having with my new glasses and them trying to adjust and fix the issues. I never got a receipt either. Derek on multiple visits stated they were not high index when I asked him. Until I emailed and demanded the information they sent to lab and a receipt did I see that high index lens are in my glasses. I brought this up and he flat out said we discussed it and I wanted them. That never happened. I had previously informed them multiple times, my eyes cannot adjust to high-index materials. To ensure there was no mistake, I provided their office with over five pairs of my previous glasses as physical proof that I only wear regular plastic. I also provide my eye records for the past 4 plus years including prescription and receipts that showed last lens were reg plastic not high index. They ignored my medical needs and the physical evidence I provided them. Which has left me with a $748 pair of glasses that are unusable. On top of giving them over 6 plus months to fix the issue. On top of Derek dismissing my concerns questions and not returning phone calls. Its truly sad that as a professional he treats and does this to his patients and lies on top of it. I only wanted to be able to see.

Reporting back on my interaction with Dr. Beiling from February 3, 2021…read more I called Medical Mutual (MM) to find out what was holding up my prior authorization request. They stated that Dr. Beiling's office failed to answer a question about whether I was sensitive to a preservative used in eye drops. MM stated that they faxed a form to Medina Vision and Laser Center (MVLC) on January 12, 2021 at 2:25 pm. requesting them to call their 800 number or fax the form back. Without this being done by January 18, 2021, the prior authorization request would need to start over. The reason that MM wanted this question answered was that I was prescribed non-generic eye drops that are shipped to me in sterile vials on a 30 day supply. If I am not believed to be sensitive to the preservative, MM's formulary is that generic eye drops must be used in a "next step therapy" procedure, meaning that a generic is used if it shows similar effectiveness to the non-generic eye drops. I met face-to-face with Dr. Beiling concerning this matter. She denied ever receiving the MM fax at their office. She challenged me to have MM supply her with the fax. I went back to my work and plan on calling MM to show proof they sent it. I queried Dr. Beiling on why I was prescribed non-generic eye drops. She stated that she prefers to treat my condition with non-generic eye drops. In her favor, she had no information given to her that non-generic eye drops would be covered or not covered. I will keep you apprised on this ongoing saga.

Hence the need for places like this little gem! What a gorgeous office space they have here. Amazing fit and finishes inside, private parking, clean facility and restrooms and tons of designer frames to choose from. On top of that, the staff here is amazing. Friendly, helpful, warm and caring. The doctor is such a nice guy. Seriously....he rocked my socks. Probably the most important variable of all! No other optometrist has done this for me. They just told me to use some otc stuff. He also got my glasses prescription nailed down so I can see great both up close.and far away without needing a bifocal! His staff, thise ladies are great! They are so nice and helpful. I've switched my whole household to him. My glasses were a little pricey but I like them. The only thing I don't line is having to call in before you can go in but I get it.
