Always an excuse…read more Then they tried to charge us for things they didn't do, and times they weren't even here working, all because they tore up our water softener system and ruined every appliance in our house that uses water 4 days after starting the job. We had to pay to get things fixed or do it ourselves. Joseph saw the huge expense piling up after 4 weeks and decided he would try to extort us by sending us fraudulent billing to get more money out of us. We refused and told him not to darken our doorway again! He was rarely on the job site and had no idea what his guys were doing. If it wasn't for our cameras around the house, he might have convinced us of some pretty expensive lies. This guy has no idea what he is doing and relies on two guys (though he claims he has more working for him but even they told us it's just the two of them) who work unsupervised and he never even comes to see what they have done each day. If we saw him it was to drop off or pick up a trailer. He ALWAYS has some family issue going, or something at his house needing something, that keeps him from being around. He has no clue how to run a business. Has no ethics, and lies right to your face. We were never paid back for all the damage they did to our house through negligence, plus we paid for pavers we never had delivered. His funny math more than a few times showed he was trying to rip us off. His guys will say they will do something and no one says one word about it will cost more. They left the job and stopped showing up until we agreed to pay HIM more money we DID NOT OWE HIM when we had paid him for 75% of the job, and he wasn't even 50% done. I wouldn't trust this guy to put up a clothes line, much less anything more complex. If you're considering hiring them, I would strongly recommend against it. it's a shame I didn't see honest negative reviews from others before we hired him. Biggest regret of our lives! Now we are out even more money having to pay another company to fix this mess they made here. The pavers aren't even level! Looks like a roller coaster with all the hills and dips! Total nightmare!

I'd say, if we could have been there in person, this experience may have been very different. Below is an account of our experience. My Husband and I own a rental home in San Antonio, TX. The backyard easement fence needed replacing on 3 sides. We obtained 3 quotes through Yelp. After reviewing the reviews on Yelp and speaking with Marilyn and Maegan (owner of 3:23), we felt they were a company we can trust even though they were not the cheapest. Maegan (owner) and my Husband spoke on the phone and discussed some specific ways he would like the fence be further reinforced. Maegan assured him his request can be done, but there will be added charges. We had no issues paying more for a sturdier product. 3:23 required a 20% deposit to lock in the appointment, 30% due at the start of work, and final balance at the completion of the job. Our second check arrived in the mail 2 days later than expected which caused 3:23 to stop work on the second day. It was understandable. Once they received the 2nd check, they resumed work the next day; on a Saturday. Once they finished, they expected the remaining balance paid that day. Unfortunately, my tenant was not at home so no one was able to inspect the work. I gave 3:23 the benefit of the doubt and paid the $2K+ balance via Venmo for work rendered. That's when it went downhill from there. The following Monday, my tenant texted a video showing a section of the fence swaying back and forth unsecured and there were exposed screws and nails. My heart sank realizing I had zero leverage since I paid them in full. Given their stellar Yelp reviews, I remained hopeful 3:23 would take care of it. I texted Maegan the video and she informed me she was at a school function for her child and she will get back to me the next day. No one followed up the next day. We ended up having to text and call them again. Maegan's Husband Roland (Owner) called us back. Roland explained why there was movement. The sway was the result of the Texas's easement access requirement and the specific hardware we asked them to use. We were taken aback by this as at this was never addressed during the initial discussion. As a matter of fact, Maegan assured us it was perfectly fine that we wanted extra reinforcement. Assuming this issue could not been foreseen, at the very least someone should've brought this to our attention at the time of install so we can discuss a resolution. After all, they are the professionals. After that conversation, we thought we had reached an understanding because Roland assured us he will meet our tenant, inspect the fence, and make it sturdy. He finally met my tenant 4 days later. He promised he would return the next week and be sure to coordinate with the tenant. The following week, my tenant texted him and I texted him...Another 4 days went by, no word. I finally reached Roland on the 5th day and his curt and short response was, "I'm attending a wedding out of State. But my guy is on site now and the issue is a none issue. I'll text you a video." He did not coordinate with my tenant and again no one was there to inspect the work. My tenant was able to inspect the fence when he returned home that evening and confirmed the fence is finally secured. I am confounded and let down by this entire experience. On the one hand, the fence they build minus the swaying is beautiful. On the other hand, the amount of energy it took to get them to fix a simple safety issue was like pulling teeth. If only they would do right by their customers then this review would've been so different. Instead, I am left spent and drained from chasing them down to fix what they didn't do in the first place. Unfortunately, an averagee review is all I am able to give for all the reasons detailed above.

There were two attempts- one of which the roof was being repaired and it was too hazardous of an environment to come and the 2nd attempt they showed up with the wrong materials. They only call around 3:30pm and ask if they can come at that time- no advance notice. The repairman that was sent with the wrong materials the 2nd time was really kind and told me that he brought it up for weeks and the office staff kept sending him to other jobs. This is important for those considering Superior Fence: Amber then said that Superior Fence does not make repairs DURING the warranty period rather, they only make repairs at the END of the warranty period all at once. In other words, I- or you- will have to wait 12 months or however long your negotiated warranty period is to have any covered repairs completed. These unique terms are not on the contract and never shared with me until over a month after I brought my concerns to their attention. Only upon elevating my concerns due to the lack of response did Amber share this. Have you ever heard of a company that will not provide service until your warranty expires? I am stuck with a cedar fence that warps due to the sun and it will continue to happen for the life of the fence. Roger advised me that cedar is most durable and suitable for the TX heat. I paid a premium for this type of material. I don't know what they did to my fence and I have been asking for the owner to contact me and offer me assurance that the company will handle my concerns- yet to no avail. Short version: Overpriced with poor communication…read more Long version: I had a couple quotes for a fence from different companies. One was a small local contractor who was a couple thousand cheaper but I have spent the last year working with a very small contractor on my home renovation, and it's been frustrating so I decided to go with a bigger name even though it cost more. The fence itself would be fine except, on the one side that is most visible to the road it comes to a point in the middle and has 2 short panels which is different then the rest of the fence. They started installing post at both ends and met in the middle. I questioned the crew who were very nice, but could speak very limited English in the middle of the second day why there was two post only two feet away in the middle of the fence line, but he just said that's how it worked out. He did move it to be centered so instead of a 6 foot/2 foot panel it's now a 4ft/4ft. Aesthetically it looks ok now. If he had put a 2 foot panel in it would have looked terrible. Either way, this review would have been different if I felt communication from the agent (Steve) was better. First off, he told me they had plenty of stock in the product I choose. I sign the contract and pay half. No communication as promised the next week. I leave a message and the following week he calls back. He says the product I ordered is now out of stock because a big company bought it all and it would be 2 months unless I wanted to upgrade. It was only $350 more and I wanted to get it done so I went with it. Then during the job I called with concerns that the 2 posts were 2 feet apart in the middle of the fence. His reply is that he will come the next morning but there's really nothing can be done since the post were already in the ground. First I think that's an unacceptable answer especially considering the rails weren't attached, etc. The crew end up working late that night. I tried calling again and it went to his VM. The crew then shows up early the next morning and finishes it. I see his vehicle at the edge of my property after they finish. I thought he had come to talk to me but he didn't knock, call, text, etc and I probably wouldn't have made it to his car before he left. Either way he clearly didn't feel the need to contact me despite me calling twice with concerns.

He takes the time to ensure his customers understand how the sprinklers are laid out in the yard and walks you through how the overall process works, it was truly a learning experience for me. When the concrete was done, it had about 3 times the normal recommended slope which was extremely noticeable when sitting on the patio. I spoke with Jose and he came back, acknowledged the issue and agreed to come back and fix it. He asked me to pay extra to upgrade the finish when he came back and even offered me a good discount on it. Although i didnt want to spend more, I agreed because I knew it was going to cost him to come back out and figured it would help him pay for his materials and some labor to fix my original issue - plus it does look good. The work was complete and I thought everything good to go. Not 3-4 months later we began to see huge cracks along the side and top of the patio where the concrete was not properly laid and rebared to the previous concrete. Now the whole top part is separated from the bottom. I can literally pick it up in huge chunks. After discussing with Jose and him coming to take a look, he agreed to fix it. He asked for some time which I agreed. This back and forth lasted for about a YEAR AND A HALF. Jose kept asking for time, and i kept agreeing. He kept promising he would fix my problem and "make it right". Finally I received a date of September 29th from him to come and fix the issue. Leading up to the date, I messaged multiple times with no response. Jose never showed up, never called, never texted despite me reaching out multiple times. I have still yet to hear anything and now appear to be stuck a broken patio after years of waiting on his word. Now i will have to pay someone to tear up the entire patio and redo it costing me Thousands on top of the thousands i Paid Jose. After giving them nothing but the benefit of the doubt, I am left with the bill. I would absolutely not recommend the services of this company for anything if you value reliability and trust. If they make major mistakes, they do not honor it and you could be left holding the bag - just like me.
