While there are aspects of the project that we feel they did a good job with (mainly the pergola), we feel it's important to warn other potential customers of the issues we have experienced working with them. First, this company uses subcontractors, and unfortunately, many times they didn't show up at all to perform the work they were scheduled to do or performed the work incorrectly. This led to significant delays throughout the project and was extremely frustrating. It put us in the position of constantly following up to ensure the work was done and done right. As an example, the concrete steps we asked them to build were initially very narrow and a safety hazard. We asked them to correct that. Our pergola was not built correctly according to the design, and we had to ask them to correct that as well. The railings around the patio were installed incorrectly, and again we had to ask them to correct this. We understood that the stain of the existing patio may never perfectly match the new concrete patio but the colors are not even close. Dominic was our main point of contact with Freedom and was apologetic every time this occurred (which was frequently) and let us know the excuses the subcontractors provided. They did make these corrections, but what I'm not sure Dominic (and Allen) with Freedom understand is that this is absolutely a reflection on their company when they hire subcontractors that either unreliable, incompetent, just "don't care," or all of the above. Unfortunately, they had already stained our concrete steps so when they did fix the prior sloppy work, the stain didn't match the remaining patio. The biggest complaint that we have with them is that once the entire project was complete (in April 2023), within a month the concrete overlay that they had put on our patio to match the extended patio we built (which it never did) started to deteriorate in a section of the patio. (We now know from speaking with others who have knowledge of concrete work that this overlay was not installed correctly from the beginning). We immediately informed them of the issue and 3 months later (after repeated texts) they repaired the section of damaged overlay without restaining. In other words, we had a large white patch of concrete on our brown stained patio for another 2-3 months. Again, after repeated texts and excuses, they finally let us know they would be sending someone out to stain the patched area of concrete. We had asked them to ensure that the patched area matched the remaining concrete and asked them to fix the issue with the entire patio being multiple different shades of stain. To this they asked us to either pay $3800 to correct the poor staining all done on our patio by THEIR contractors or only stain the patched area of concrete for free. We absolutely refuse to pay Freedom more for THEIR work that was not done right to begin with and agreed for them to only stain the patched area (with the expectation that it would, at least, match the existing patio). Of course, it doesn't and looks awful. I included a picture here so you can see how bad this looks. We are now left with a concrete patio that is 4 different shades of brown and is an eyesore. We have texted Allen and Dominic multiple times to ask that they do the right thing and restain our patio so that all of THEIR work is one color. What is very disappointing is they are not even responding to us anymore. There is no sense of wanting to do the right thing for their customer or even taking pride in the work they are doing. It is very disheartening that after trying to be understanding with them throughout all the delays/failures in the project once they got their money they really didn't seem to care. A small crew came in and raked up at the leaves, bundled them up and hauled them away, and then mowed and cleaned up the plantings. They quoted the job up front and there were no surprises. All good. Next I hired them to replace a fence that was falling into my mother's yard. Turned out there was a long standing dispute with the prior owner and the neighbor - this had to be done right. Rick's crew, led by Luis, came in, removed the old fence, laid out the new posts, and quickly finished the fence shown in the last two photos below. What I really appreciated was Luis' experience which fixed some things I specified and made them better. Since this job I've hired them for one more fence and two more garden projects. All have been successful. What I'm very happy with is they do good work quickly for a fair price. Not the lowest, but if you don't want to worry, hire Rick.

Amber then lied and claimed there were "several" attempts to repair my fence. There were two attempts- one of which the roof was being repaired and it was too hazardous of an environment to come and the 2nd attempt they showed up with the wrong materials. They only call around 3:30pm and ask if they can come at that time- no advance notice. The repairman that was sent with the wrong materials the 2nd time was really kind and told me that he brought it up for weeks and the office staff kept sending him to other jobs. This is important for those considering Superior Fence: Amber then said that Superior Fence does not make repairs DURING the warranty period rather, they only make repairs at the END of the warranty period all at once. In other words, I- or you- will have to wait 12 months or however long your negotiated warranty period is to have any covered repairs completed. These unique terms are not on the contract and never shared with me until over a month after I brought my concerns to their attention. Only upon elevating my concerns due to the lack of response did Amber share this. Have you ever heard of a company that will not provide service until your warranty expires? I am stuck with a cedar fence that warps due to the sun and it will continue to happen for the life of the fence. Roger advised me that cedar is most durable and suitable for the TX heat. I paid a premium for this type of material. I don't know what they did to my fence and I have been asking for the owner to contact me and offer me assurance that the company will handle my concerns- yet to no avail. Stay away from Superior Fence Co!

Short version: Overpriced with poor communication…read more Long version: I had a couple quotes for a fence from different companies. One was a small local contractor who was a couple thousand cheaper but I have spent the last year working with a very small contractor on my home renovation, and it's been frustrating so I decided to go with a bigger name even though it cost more. The fence itself would be fine except, on the one side that is most visible to the road it comes to a point in the middle and has 2 short panels which is different then the rest of the fence. They started installing post at both ends and met in the middle. I questioned the crew who were very nice, but could speak very limited English in the middle of the second day why there was two post only two feet away in the middle of the fence line, but he just said that's how it worked out. He did move it to be centered so instead of a 6 foot/2 foot panel it's now a 4ft/4ft. Aesthetically it looks ok now. If he had put a 2 foot panel in it would have looked terrible. Either way, this review would have been different if I felt communication from the agent (Steve) was better. First off, he told me they had plenty of stock in the product I choose. I sign the contract and pay half. No communication as promised the next week. I leave a message and the following week he calls back. He says the product I ordered is now out of stock because a big company bought it all and it would be 2 months unless I wanted to upgrade. It was only $350 more and I wanted to get it done so I went with it. Then during the job I called with concerns that the 2 posts were 2 feet apart in the middle of the fence. His reply is that he will come the next morning but there's really nothing can be done since the post were already in the ground. First I think that's an unacceptable answer especially considering the rails weren't attached, etc. The crew end up working late that night. I tried calling again and it went to his VM. The crew then shows up early the next morning and finishes it. I see his vehicle at the edge of my property after they finish. I thought he had come to talk to me but he didn't knock, call, text, etc and I probably wouldn't have made it to his car before he left. Either way he clearly didn't feel the need to contact me despite me calling twice with concerns.
