Springfield Data Recovery - A case we recovered in our Class 100 cleanroom. Computer store told this client the data was "gone forever". We do the impossible every day.

I hadn't planned on spending that much, but I was happy to do it. Free shipping both ways and new media for the recovered data. I was pleased with the results.

One morning in March 2025, my 14-year-old laptop refused to boot I tried connecting hard drive with…read morea SATA cable that had just been delivered, only to find that my desktop couldn't recognize the hard drive. I turned to Google and asked ChatGPT, which informed me that five of the world's largest data recovery companies were based in the U.S. Excited, I spent hours scouring Google and Yelp reviews. Many reviews praised successful data recoveries, which gave me hope. However, I soon realized I couldn't bring myself to choose any of these major companies, and here's why: 1. All five companies had an overwhelming number of horrific, unimaginable negative reviews. Dishonesty, lies, scams, immorality, and a lack of conscience were recurring themes and conclusions in these reviews. After reading them, I felt not only disappointed but also baffled at how they could treat struggling customers this way. The contents of those reviews lingered in my mind, making it impossible to entrust my data to any of them. 2. Even if I took my hard drive to a local office of one of these five companies, I wouldn't know which engineer would handle my case--it was a matter of luck. Reviews made it clear that the success or failure of data recovery hinged on who took on the job, leaving it entirely up to chance. I also learned that the skill level of engineers varied drastically depending on the location of the office. It was a gamble. 3. The pricing for data recovery at these five companies was, in a word, astronomical. They seemed to charge whatever they felt like. 4. I discovered that the photos on all five companies' websites--showing engineers in cleanrooms wearing dust-proof suits and hats--were largely misleading. From what I learned, less than 10% of cases actually required such facilities or attire. It felt like a setup to justify their exorbitant fees, and when combined with the awful reviews, I couldn't connect with the business mindset or spirit of these companies. 5. Through my research and ChatGPT, I learned that data recovery requires specialized equipment beyond simple software--sophisticated tools that demand skilled handling. Ultimately, the engineer's expertise and experience were the keys to recovering my data and determining its fate. But I had no way of knowing which engineer would take my case or whether they'd have the time and dedication to try multiple approaches for success. I resumed my search and, thankfully, stumbled upon Springfield Data Recovery. From our first phone call, I felt a sense of calm and confidence that my data could be recovered, so I sent my hard drive to them that same day without hesitation. A few days later, I received an email saying they'd soon start working on my case, acknowledging how precious my data was to me and promising to do their best. Two days after that, they emailed again, explaining that my hard drive was particularly challenging to recover but that they'd exhaust every possible method to achieve a full recovery. I felt disappointed and anxious knowing my case was difficult, but I took comfort in their commitment to try their hardest and waited. A few days later, I received the joyful news that they'd succeeded. They provided a link where I could see my recovered folders and files--everything I'd longed to see again. I checked them one by one. The price was excellent, reasonable, and honest. After paying with my credit card, they said the final work would be completed in 2-4 days and shipped to me on a new external hard drive. But the very next morning, I got the happy news that they'd already finished everything successfully. At this moment, with my precious data back in my hands, I want to share that my choice was a great one. Here's why: 1. I learned that Springfield Data Recovery assigned a small, skilled team of engineers to take full responsibility for my case. It wasn't a random draw where I'd have no idea who was handling it; a prepared team worked together to recover my data. The pricing was excellent, reasonable, and left me feeling good about the experience. 2. Unlike the top five U.S. companies, which never mentioned it on their websites, Springfield Data Recovery had been using world-renowned data recovery equipment for 7-8 years, achieving successful recoveries with it. Their highly skilled handling of this equipment led to my success, and they openly featured it on their website. When I checked with ChatGPT, it confirmed that none of the top five companies mentioned this equipment on their sites or indicated whether they used it. 3. My case was particularly difficult. When they informed me of this, I pleaded earnestly for them to recover my data. Springfield Data Recovery responded by maximizing their efforts, attempting multiple approaches, and dedicating days to the task with every tool and method at their disposal. They succeeded because they empathized with how important my data was to me.

Specifically I was trying to burn a few CD's for my American mom, and the burns failed, so now I have a bunch of coasters! Mom thinks the software had some kind of encryption parameter switched on, or perhaps the music I have is copyright-protected with a DRM, but I told her that it's actually a hardware failure! When I called, Mike answered the phone, and he seems like quite a sweet guy! I explained my situation to him, and he informed me of the possibility that I may need new DVD/CD Rom drives. He says that when it comes to reading and writing CD's and DVD's, drives and burners can fail after a short amount of time, as these machines aren't built to last like they used to be! Fast forward to this afternoon. I went to Eugene Computers with my provider, Karry, and they actually had the right kind of DVD/CD Rom drives for me! And better yet, they let me recycle the old ones that I brought in! I brought the new ones home, and by the way they're brand new and sealed, for which I paid $37.00 a piece (not a bad price at all!), and when I opened them up and plugged them into my machines, they actually work wonders! I recommend Eugene Computers to anyone who needs new replacement parts and even computer repairs. You guys are the best! You deserve 1,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 stars from me!

The guy Tony Trilex that runs the business and handled my request to repair my xbox controller (my…read morecontroller had left stick drift) is slick. He made me put down a $40 deposit on April 14, 2025. I sent my controller in to have both left and right sticks upgraded to Hall Effect Sticks for $90 each. It took a long time and I had to call him on the April 24, 2025 to remind him that my order was delivered. The parts weren't ordered till April 29, 2025 and the controller wasn't fixed till May 5, 2025. I paid $122 right away on May 5,2025 the controller was upgraded to TMR's instead of Hall Effect sticks I was happy cause TMR's are suppose to be better then Hall Effect sticks. I got the controller on May 9, 2025 and tested it and the controller was unresponsive. I called right away on the 9th and he told me he was unable to test it cause he had no Xbox and that he could give me a refund of $112 or send it in for warranty I told him that I don't think it could be fixed and wanted the refund he told me that it could be fixed, but I still took the refund. He called me back later on to say that he refunded me the $112 and that if I wanted he could mail me a shipping label and he would fix it and just recharge me plus give me a discount. So I started to think, and wanted to do that so I waited for the label which never came. So I called and he said he didn't have the time to send it and if I wanted I could pay to have it shipped and that the TMR's were incompatible (this was my fault) and made it sound like it could be fixed with Hall Effect sticks that he had in stock, so I paid the shipping on May 15, 2025. I was out of $50 so far and I really wanted the controller fixed. I watch the shipping and the delivery of the package and had to call to let him know that the package was delivered to his PO Box and it was sitting there for days. He didn't start the repair till May 30, 2025. And started the testing on the May 31, 2025 and wasn't complete till June 7, 2025 and was charged $100 on June 13, 2025. I received the controller on June 20, 2025 and tested out on my Xbox and it was going crazy and it could not be fixed with recalibration so I call Tony Trilex to let him know and he screamed at me saying that he recorded the testing I think than hung up on me. I called my credit card company and they said they would call them and temporary gave me a credit which was reversed. It was hard to explain to my credit card company all what had happened over the course of almost two months. I don't know what slick things he could have said but I am out of $140 plus the shipping I paid for. I really put my trust in this in this company. If I said something wrong please let me know I will print a retraction unless you want to send your lawyers after me for slander. I rarely write reviews but sometimes this is all a customer has is to watch out for other customers. This is the purpose of this site and probably why Trilex doesn't have a review system. Also when ever I have wrote other reviews it was positive and many against negative ones.

I'm thankful to see that he is continuing in his success and that nothing has slowed him down at all! I'm proud of you Tony, I should have really wrote this sooner and really processed how blessed I was and am to have been gifted the time that I had with you. You also inspired me to get to this point of where I am now and continuing to grow into. You see very deeply in many things and I am grateful for YOUR support that was consistent and always there. I now know that the majority of this businesses accurate reviews can be found in the "not recommended" area. If you aren't a regular Yelp user, your review doesn't get recommended. If I had read some of those reviews, I never would have gone to this business. I went there more than a month ago to get my iMac fixed. I signed a contract for $95 in service fees (but wasn't offered a copy of the contract, which he is legally obligated to do) and was told the vast majority of things could be fixed in a few days. Fast forward a few weeks and my computer still isn't fixed and I have been charged an additional $425 in parts that either didn't work at all or didn't fix my computer. Total charges of $520 and I have absolutely nothing to show for it. Web Zone deemed my computer "unfixable." When I indicated some of my charges could be considered fraudulent, manager Kevin wouldn't give back my computer until I paid him $250 in cash. I have much more I could say about my insane experience, but I'll just end by saying that you should go to another place if you are considering this one.

The final price they charged was much more than the initial quote and the actual service took so much longer than expected. Also, the service takes a really long time. The employees do not seem to get along with each other, which could be why customer service suffers. It's best to go somewhere else in Eugene-Springfield for similar service.
