After a few years I needed to update my iPhone and again purchased a refurbished phone from Mekanix. I did this on a trip from Portland to Eugene. After getting back to Portland I had some difficulties and called them and they said they would honor the warranty. I was unable to get down to Portland and several months later the display froze. The discount was because I didn't have to buy another Micro SD card, as I still have the one from my old player, which my provider Karry successfully helped put in to the new one for me! Instead I was called in for a conference.... because what I wanted done wasn't clear to them. So, for the 3rd time, I started to explain it to Matt what the symptoms were, which he ignored. Instead and he parroted the security claims Apple makes to sell their products. It cost me $60 to get my Mac Mini back. I get home and learned they'd installed some malware software. (even though they deny installing it ) This software will not allow me to email any other repair shop but theirs . It erased 15 years of medical research and all historical and and current pictures and contact info to family in Norway. Amazing group of people here. They took my phone and fixed it enough that I was able to backup and not lose any data! All for much, much cheaper than my service provider (who basically told me to buy a new phone and just chalk up the pictures and such as a loss). Took the team there less than 2 hours to get it fixed for me and I picked it up the next day. Really friendly and able to solve the root problem, not just what you think you need. My iPhone 12 Pro turned off for no apparent reason. I took it in and the guy figured it out in less than a minute and had it on. I asked what I owed him and he said no charge. I have used Cellular Mekanix for as long as they been open and am always pleased when I leave there. I also had my screen protector replaced and they offer a huge discount for repeat customers. It got to where I could hardly make it through a day without my phone's battery running low on juice so I took it down to Cellular Mekanix in Eugene. It turned out that they didnt have the battery my exact phone but it only took them a couple days to get one shipped in. They gave me a call, I took the phone down to them and dropped it off, ran a couple errands and they had me up and running, that fast. Very nice and efficient folks to deal with. My laptop would not stay charged so I brought it in and said my battery won't stay charged, I think its the battery. You took it, said it would be a few weeks and I said no problem I didn't know what to exactly say! I told you it's dying, maybe it's the battery. I thought you being the professionals would know To give it to once over. Some thing... When I got the laptop my log in info change so it took a while to get the info. The battery still dies, it doesn't make it a day without having to be charged and I don't use the computer daily. I have no games or anything that is out of the norm. When I called they got an attitude, saying we did what you wanted... I wanted my computer to not die so fast and you to be a professional that knows to look around and not fall back and blame he customer. I saw it in you reviews, a lot of blaming the customers and not owning it. CellMek said it would have taken longer to check it out, I wasn't given that option and would have left in without hesitation had they inquired a little more. It seems like you saw easy money and took it and now you throw it back on me. CellMek changes batteries often enough I am sure you have it down pat. When I called, I was not greated kindly and the employee let out a big sigh. Just kept saying it wasnt their fault they are robots and don't think out of the box, even when it should be a given that the average owners do not know the insides of their devices. This company has changed a lot from a few years ago and not in a good way. I understand some price increases but but the customer service has decreased. Gone are the days of being greated kindly with a smile and more specific questions other that, Yup, we will take it. They told me to bring it down and they will check it out then call me with what they find. Then if need be work on it again I will be charged. T As per each negative review, I am sure they will have a rebuttal saying it was all my fault and basically call me a lier or let out a loud sigh... Same oh, same oh. I had a dying battery in my iPhone. I cross shopped Cellular Mekanix with the majority of other cell phone repair businesses in the area. This was the most affordable. Even better, their level of service was top notch. It was a busy day but they got me in quickly and the battery replacement only took about ten minutes. For more serious repairs call and make an appointment to save time. These guys do a great job! I would definitely recommend them for any needed phone repairs. Oh, their parking lot kind of sucks. Brought several phones in for various repairs. First was a friend who broke the lense on her cell camera and was literally cracked right across the center creating bad pics. They had it fixed in 15 minutes and I think was less than $20. The other was a screen replacement for an android phone. Quick and easy. The third was one of the Galaxy S7 with the curved screen. Again, a flawless fix. The people who work here are knowledgeable, fast, and reasonably priced. Highly consider this place for phone repair!! My repair would cost $150 at some places in town or to ship to Apple. Cellular Mekanix said they'll do it for $40 or $110 if I get a higher quality replacement screen. That's $40ish of labor and $70ish for the part for my particular iPhone. An "above average" after market or refurbished screen. I repeat, I could bring them an after market screen and pay them $40 for the repair labor. I was so surprised I'm here yelping before service. I was told it may take an hour or more. I decided to organize tools and things in my truck outside their location.
