These guys showed up right on time, kept the price they had given to me and they were efficient and did a great job. Great service. The installer was extremely courteous and respectful. Followed COVID safety protocols too, without having to be asked to (unlike most contractors). He was very competent, having already diagnosed the problem over the phone, ordered in the part and installed it very well. He cleaned up after himself, too. We couldn't have been happier. Don't let this place fool you by their reviews... this place is dirty and the lady (Owners Wife) that works up front is very condescending. We brought a board from a tv that we own and wanted a few quick solders done. Would of took a technician 5 to 10 minutes to do. I would of done it myself if my soldering iron got hot enough. She insisted that they WOULDN'T give me an estimate and I had to leave them a deposit of $20 to trouble shoot it and the deposit would go towards of the work... hahahaha! There is no trouble shooting, I just want a simple price for a simple solder job. Take your business to more competent business owners. She also said that they don't work for free as my wife was walking out the door... That's why I called her condescending. read more

Yesterday morning my back was against the wall in that I needed to have a new TV installed in my home to be able to conduct a group meeting in my living room that same eveing using my TV to display PowerPoint slides and a video. My old TV had suddenly failed. I called TV Specialty Shop fully expecting an appointment for sometime in the next few weeks. To my surprise, when Tim returned my call he assured me that he could work me into his schedule the same day. I WAS SHOCKED! Tim arrived shortly after 4 PM ready to go to work. He quickly removed my old TV and had the new Samsung 43" set up and running. He went over and above what I expected by taking time to patiently walk my wife and me through the process of setting up the set, including preparing the additional HDMI inputs to work with outputs from other equipment, including my laptop, which I needed to use to display my PowerPoint slides, as well as video content. Tim did a great job in every way to make my potential disaster a pleasant experience. Tim was professional, so kind and super fast. He got our tv working in under an hour. He even offered to connect my sound bar and he even took another broken TV to recycle for me. He cared about my health by wearing a mask and gloves. He was even friendly to my pug that insisted on supervising lol. Samsung set up the appointment, but the company called me to confirm and assess what the damages were and how to fix them. They came out almost 2 hours away, the technician was smart and quick! He was also very polite, and we conversed like friends. He replaced the whole panel in about 20 minutes. Great service, I would recommend them anytime. read more

Very helpful. I had a broken TV and we talked it through on the phone. We decided that, given my situation, it likely wasn't worthwhile for them to come out, since my TV was likely to die again in the future given its own sets of quirks. The story of locking myself out of his truck with the keys in my hand makes for a great phone call. I walked in and was immediately greeted by an employee, who was very kind and helpful. I explained what had happened. He took it all apart and asked me questions. Given it isn't my own truck and key fob, I didn't have the best answers. The nicest thing was the employee asked me if I knew about the hidden key inside the fob. Which I didn't until I called my friend when the fob stopped working. I really appreciate when someone wants to teach me something new, and was kind about it. The employee had everything fixed and put back together in less than ten minutes. I asked if we could go outside and test it. We walked out and each pushed the lock and unlock buttons, so it was clear everything was working perfectly. I noticed two other employees who asked if I was being helped and then moved on to the next customer to help them. They all appeared to be as kind and welcoming as the one helping me. The whole thing cost me like $25. It wasn't expensive, in my opinion. He stapled the receipt to a flyer that I left in the truck for warranty purposes. He was happy to put the warranty stuff in my friend's name and phone number. When cashing me out, he asked if I needed anything else. I said, I've never been here. Find me something I can't live without. He told me about a couple specials, although nothing I needed at that moment. But he still tried, and I was happy to hear about all of it. Would I return? Absolutely! The customer service here was amazing. Most of the time when I'm talking about anything car related, I'm met with someone who is condescending because I'm female. It's happened a million times before. But it didn't here, and I'm definitely impressed. It took ten minutes and $25 for the problem to be fixed, with no effort on my part. It was all done for me. I left extremely happy about the entire thing, and would absolutely come back in the future. Review 40 of 2025.

All I have is my laptop, a brand-new Lenovo. Yesterday I put the top down on the laptop, and left for a day in Portland. When I got home, my laptop refused to connect to the Internet. I launched into all the obvious troubleshooting: the modem, even connecting a hard line to my laptop. It's almost 5:30 on a Friday, mind you, and I'm going to be without a computer for...how long? Affordable Computers was six minutes from my house. I called, they said get it here, we'll do all we can and even take it to another shop if we can't fix it by eight. I broke a speed record delivering it to the shop, where their charming yellow lab handed me the Frisbee as the shop took my computer. They said no matter what, it's $199, the emergency rate- believe me I was HAPPY if only they could fix the problem. Barely an hour later, I get the call. Come on down, we're all done. Turns out that there was some crap Windows app (of course there was), the RealTek card needed to be replaced with an Intel card, and by the way, your VPN was on. And by the way, we're giving you the card, and on top of that, a replacement HP cord for an ancient laptop that I had to drag out of storage just in case only to find out that it had broken. So now I am back to having two working laptops, albeit I now have to re-tape that storage box. Who cares, right? Jess is that kind of kindhearted super pro tech who understands that when a customer walks in with their face looking like a dead fish and an emergency on her hands, you swoop in with your cape and get the job done. There's no guarantee, not really, that everyone's problem can be fixed that fast but here's my bottom line: computer pros know better than all of us what the typical issues are, especially with new laptops and gear that is loaded with crap that causes all kinds of problems. They can cut through to more efficient troubleshooting and figure out your issue. When you have an emergency at 5:30 pm when everyone else is closing up shop, and you can bring your gear in and get greeted by a very happy dog and people who know what they're doing and who are dedicated to getting your problem fixed because they get the urgency, you share the good news. Affordable had been referred to me by a friend year ago, and this was the first time I really needed them. My tech expert up in Portland, who was helping me troubleshoot from his drive home and who was completely at his wits' end, said TELL ME WHO THEY ARE, because he's got friends in Eugene who need a trusted resource. This is a trusted resource. Jess made sure I knew how to get logged back in now that I had a new Intel card, and I'm back in business. I have had to deal with Geek Squad and plenty of other folks over the years often to very questionable outcomes. As a journalist, I am done without a working laptop. Affordable understood my issue, and handed me back my laptop in much better shape than when I turned it in. I can't give anyone a more heartfelt set of five-star kudos than this. And please give the dog an extra scritch for being such a great greeter. Just for the record: NONE of this is AI-generated. Real person, real review.

I dealt with Reynolds Electric a couple times over the last week, and it was a great experience. My…read morefather in-law originally called them for me, so I had no choice in using them or an opinion. But to be honest, I wouldn't have known who to call myself. They showed up within an hour of my father in-law calling to do the estimate. We lost power to a solid 50% of the house, and desperately needed it fixed. Doug was the electrician who came out, and quickly figured out the problem. He talked to us and explained it all. Although electricity isn't my specialty, so I'm not sure exactly what he did. Which is fine by me too. Lol. He fixed the problem, and that's what I care about. They had to do some digging, which is a different company and billed separately. But they have contracted companies they use for digging, plumbing, and a couple other things, as I understood it. So they take care of that for you and coordinating schedules, and such. This makes it easy for the homeowner to skip dealing with that. Electrical issues are stressful enough, and them handling the additional contractors is just an extra weight lifted. My *only* complaint is it took time to schedule the digging company. But honestly, it wasn't bad. Waiting any length of time just sucks when you have no stove or hot water. So a few days feels more like a few years. Plus patience is not one of my strongest personality traits anyway. Diggers showed up and they were also great. Super nice, personable guys who didn't mind questions, conversation, watching, nothing bothered them. Once the digging was done, and the actual electric work started, it only took a few hours. Doug stuck around so I could test everything once it was done too. He really made a stressful time just a little bit easier, and there is always something to be said for that. I have to say that I really appreciate the organization and patience. My in-law's were paying for everything, but my husband and I own our home, and I was the only one home. So they ended up calling and texting three different people about everything and handled it well. They seem ridiculously expensive when getting the estimate, I won't lie. There was some definite sticker shock there. But after seeing the work actually done first hand, and experiencing the customer service provided, it was absolutely worth the price. It's rare I'm proved wrong like that, but it definitely happened in this case. After this experience, Reynolds is the only electrical company I will call as long as I live in Eugene/Springfield area. Mom thinks the software had some kind of encryption parameter switched on, or perhaps the music I have is copyright-protected with a DRM, but I told her that it's actually a hardware failure! When I called, Mike answered the phone, and he seems like quite a sweet guy! I explained my situation to him, and he informed me of the possibility that I may need new DVD/CD Rom drives. He says that when it comes to reading and writing CD's and DVD's, drives and burners can fail after a short amount of time, as these machines aren't built to last like they used to be! Fast forward to this afternoon. I went to Eugene Computers with my provider, Karry, and they actually had the right kind of DVD/CD Rom drives for me! And better yet, they let me recycle the old ones that I brought in! I brought the new ones home, and by the way they're brand new and sealed, for which I paid $37.00 a piece (not a bad price at all!), and when I opened them up and plugged them into my machines, they actually work wonders! These people were great through out my tv repair experience. I cannot express my gratitude to them in words. They went above and beyond to do what was proper. My wife was watching the tv when it went bye bye on us. So they were the only authorized repair people for Samsung in the whole state of Oregon and around 75 miles from the coast where I was located. So I drove the curved screen to their shop in eugene. This tv was a present to us from my daughter. So Tim fixed the set with a main board and power supply. I went and picked the set up and drove home with all by highway. When I got home and plugged it the screen showed a crack. My wife did not want to throw it away with 2 brand new parts in it. So I called Samsung and asked what do i do just throw it away or what. Tim hung in through the whole ordeal and Samsung finally came through with a new screen. Tim came out to the house with a new screen and fixed it their at the house in 45 minutes. Sometimes in this country letting people know about your sentamentalness still works and in fact gets you the help you hope for. So I will always recommend this business for their understanding and workmanship and reaffirming my faith. Thank you so much Tim. This is a small business and I say make him work overtime. My large wall-hung LG tv which was still covered by a warranty contract stopped functioning properly one day a few weeks ago and the warranty company sent Timothy to my house to determine what the problem might be. Tim worked with me through finding the proper information he needed to make an initial assessment; he came within a few days to make adjustments and do any updates. He said if that didn't correct the problems to let him know, which I did. The tv was better but still erratic and upon my calling him back, Timothy ordered a new "motherboard" and came to install it yesterday. He brought his father Tim to help lift the tv off the wall and replace the unit. They worked carefully and through a couple of problems in handling the tv. It now works perfectly! I greatly appreciate Timothy and Tim's help and am thankful for their great teamwork to take care of a difficult problem. Their expertise is admirable! read more

Had my Samsung Smart TV for less than two months and the screen died. It was under warranty and TV Specialty Shop handles that end. When the parts came in they were there less than 1 hr he had it all apart and put back together with new screen. Totally professional, neat, and he really knew what he was doing. These guys were hired by Samsung to fix a problem with my newer tv. Tim showed up right on time, (he also called a couple times to confirm our appointment.) He was professional and got right to work. We had a conversation about my problem and he helped me understand why it was happening. He replaced parts and made sure all my codes were correct and that I was logged back in. My LG was out of warranty so I called these guys. Didn't know what to expect with television repair. I had to leave a deposit but they took it off my final bill. In and out in less than two weeks. My TV is back to normal and I got a warranty to boot! Then I noticed they were selling DISH. Didn't know what to think so I asked and got a great deal. Thanks for the DISH service! Timothy is awesome, I had an LG TV that was under warranty and had a manufacture screen issue and he came and replaced the screen easy peasy, and even helped me find the fiber optic output on the TV (had a mount that prevented me from seeing which outputs were which) so I could get my soundbar and sub working; even connected the remote to the soundbar for me. I can't say enough good things about Tim and Charles at TV Specialty. My Samsung TV died while in warranty and they made multiple trips to my house with new parts and screens from Samsung. These guys are great. My LG OLED tv was having an issue that was covered with a warranty. I called LG and soon after I received a call from TV Specialty Shop. They ordered the parts needed and when the tech arrived he was very courteous and friendly.
