Our intention was to try a few of the different specialty cake/bakery stores in the Springfield, IL area, but after meeting Dena and tasting her incredible cupcakes, there was no need. She had the most delicious freshly baked cupcakes waiting for us and was very helpful on design ideas and budget needs. So affordable! She truly cared about what we wanted and I was impressed with how fun and welcoming her bakery is. It is as colorful as she is! I have so many things to stress about leading up to the wedding, but this is not one of them! The venue is on the northwest side of Springfield and she was more than happy to deliver and set up everything at our venue, we just have to sit back and wait for the goodies to arrive! So, I got a turkey sandwich on a croissant. Couldn't get soup or salad on the side as they both had spinach which I can't have. The sandwich was about 4 bites and something a 5 year old would make. Nothing unique or interesting about it. Turkey, cheese, mustard, croissant. $10. The person I was with got a quiche which she said was fine and a "mixed greens" salad which was actually 2 pieces of green leaf lettuce. Literally nothing else and not even cut up! They only had vinaigrette dressing which she really doesn't like. I don't know people. What are we missing here??

I had bought a cake stand online and I felt comfortable enough to go back in one day to see if my cake would fit or look alright on it. Being a particular bride, I was able to trust them to get my cake there, set up, and everything else without a worry and that what I needed. I also had several birthdays at my wedding that night and they made individual cupcakes for them also. Over all it was perfect and one thing I was 100% happy with. The vanilla cupcake had grainy frosting where the sugar had not been properly creamed into the butter or fat and it was too sweet. It actually made me cough from how the sugar hit the back of my throat. The cake was very light, but nothing tasted like vanilla. It tasted like sugar and air. There was also entirely too much frosting for the density and size of the cupcake, and I say that as a person who usually loves frosting. The vanilla cupcake was both soft /falling apart and slightly overcooked at the same time. The red velvet was more balanced in flavor. However, it had the same sugary buttercream as the vanilla instead of the traditional cream cheese that one would expect with a red velvet cake and that frosting made it just too sugary to eat. The texture of the red velvet cupcake was better than the vanilla, though a bit too dry. I'm not sure what the people who gave this high reviews eight or what their exposure to food is, but this definitely did not do it for us.
