The key elements of tortilla chips. They have it all!
    Angela A.

Just when you thought you had the right amount of flavor, they give you more. ¡Mas Sabores! Here's some info to read while you're on the way to the restaurant: 1.) They are located right next to Sabores, in Chatham. Yes, that is the former location of the Thai Restaurant. 2.) They are working on their liquor license and should have it by the end of the month (December 2022). In the meantime, order some delicious horchata! 3.) The place is clean, minimally decorated, and appears maximized for seating arrangements of large and small parties. 4.) The tortilla chips are 100% the real deal. They are crunchy, appropriately salted, fresh, the texture is perfect, and they keep 'em coming. If they start charging, I blame my extended family because we definitely ate a ton! 5.) The servers were attentive, polite, and lovely. I appreciated how much they worked as a team. I'm telling you, if you have that then you're golden! I'm not sure what else to say, as you're probably being sat as you finish this review. This family has done such a wonderful job, adding flavors and desserts to Chatham that are unique and authentic to Mexican culture. I'm pumped to return and happy to know that maybe Chatham will be known for their great restaurants and not the whole water situation.

The people were friendly, the place was clean but small and their food was mediocre. The menu was limited, I doubt we will go back.

Moving on to appetizers, we tried the empanadas and the taquitos -- delicious! And the salsa tomatillo was so good we got chips to take up the left over sauce. For our main course, we had the Ramona flight of tacos and the mole oaxaqueño. My husband said he hasn't had mole like that since we lived in Texas. The flavors of everything were so deep and rich. Delicious! We can't wait to come back again. We never thought we would see this quality of an authentic Mexican restaurant in Springfield, and we are over the moon that Ramona Tacos + Mezcal is here! Incredible quality of food and service and atmosphere.

Let's start by saying I was really excited to try this place and waited too long maybe to try it…read moreand it peaked and now is a complete disappointment. Walking in, space is very beautiful and well thought out. I would have only subleased one of the spaces and made it smaller to make sure I have a line out the door. Place was very empty with not many diners and as I sat down and looked at the menu, I see why they are dead. First off, If you are going to rip off Session Taco's business model, follow their pricing and not charge double what they charge, especially when your tacos aren't as good and lack flavor or seasoning. Not the customer's fault you overpaid on rent. That's why you will be closed in the foreseeable future. Hence why they should have made the space half the size. Second, menu is impossible to read and the smallest print in the worst color too. We ordered up some apps, empanadas and the queso fundido. 3 tiny empanadas with less than 1/4 of a teaspoon of filling came out with your typical spicy mayo dip that wasn't memorable. Was more dough than anything on these. Not worth ordering again. Reminding me of bad, overpriced catering food you get at a wedding you are wanting to run from to go eat better food . The "signature" queso fundido was disappointing too. The cheese was almost impossible to scoop and had the consistency of Elmer's glue starting to harden with no flavor. Same with the pico and chorizo on top- no flavor. This was served with stale chips and some flour tortillas on the side. The entrees, I had the pork belly tacos, picture shown. 2 tacos- $19! A lobster taco at session taco is $7 for one taco. If that tells you anything about why I am so disappointed with this experience. Tacos were eh, nothing special and again, lack any real flavor or seasoning. Kosher salt is your friend, Chef.... One friend had a burrito that looked like something you get at a cafeteria and they couldn't even wipe the rim of the plate of the cheese sauce they dropped all over it. So, if you are running an upscale place, wiping the rim takes only a minute and also shows you care about your product and your plate you produced. Not here obviously. Other friend got the flight of tacos that was 4 tacos for $25. Said the best one was the steak, again not sure what they called it and the online menu of course doesn't match the menu they are handing out to diners. Said the other 3 weren't great- said the carnitas were so salty that it was almost inedible. So my tab was $41 and some change for 2 tacos and some bad cheese dip and stale chips. After tip- $50. I really expected more from an upscale place for dinner warranting that price and also for how small the portions are for the price. Good luck to them, won't be returning...

I ordered a chicken chimichanga and my wife ordered a chicken quesadilla. I didn't read the details on the menu but the chimichanga is not a typical filling and when I checked the menu again it says deep fried or baked burrito do it had rice and beans in the filling and was very large. Despite the unexpected filling it was still good but I couldn't eat all of it. My wife's quesadilla was exactly what she expected and she said it was good. I will definitely return and explore more of the menu.

We got some chips and salsa as we waited. I'm pretty sure that the chips were house made since they were different from other kinds of tortilla chips I had. The salsa was good, but I definitely would've loved a little more spice to it. We got the Enchiladas Suizas and a Fajita Burrito. The burrito was pretty good, but if I were to go again I'd probably choose something different from the Enchiladas. Just was not for me. I did like how spicy they were though! One thing that also stood out was that much of the time when I go to Mexican restaurants, the portions are pretty big for the prices. The portions were definitely not tiny, but smaller than I would maybe expect for a Mexican restaurant for the price that we paid. I'm not sure if we would choose to go back in the future since it was a stop along the way for a trip for us, but it was not a bad stop. They do have a large parking lot out front which makes parking super easy and that is always a huge plus!

The ambiance was very pleasant, everything was clean, service was great and, best of all, the food was delicious. I lived in San Diego for 20 years, ate and loved a lot of fish tacos while there so I ordered (grilled) fish tacos with a side of black beans. They did not disappoint, best fish tacos I've had since leaving San Diego. The fish was perfectly cooked, the seasonings were great, the corn tortillas hot and fresh, and they had a nice assortment of sauces. The avocado lime sauce paired perfectly with the fish. I'm not a huge black bean fan but these were really tasty. My wife is a picky eater, not big on Mexican food beyond the traditional seasoned ground beef so she got the traditional soft taco (seasoned ground beef, lettuce, cheese) and she loved it, even the cheese, probably a queso fresco but not sure. Oh, and the basket of tortilla chips served with salsa, they were great too. Still hot from the fryer, they were thick and crispy and the salsa was nice with just a little kick. We love this place and will return whenever we're in the area. I'm hoping to convince them to make me a "surf & turf" type burrito with carne asada and shrimp.
