Best tacos I've had in a while! Everything was perfectly portioned and delicious. The price as well ($6 for 2 tacos) made the taco taste even better. The salsas that come with are the perfect addition of flavor. This review is for the new location in the old Rallys restaurant. Tiny vestibule where you order at the window. Malfunctioning front door that slams every time someone comes in or out. For some reason I thought there would be a dining room but nope. Tacos are bomb but a little pricey. read more

Make a point not to miss Springfield's greatest taco stand. The Taco Joint reminded me of Austin and LA where good tacos abound. Oh the cilantro! Oh the guac! Oh the beany cheesy Mexican flavor. Gotta get the street tacos, extra guacamole and get the horchata if you can. Great chips too. I'd driven by a bunch of time before finally taking a chance on this place SO GLAD I DID! If I could give a 4.5 on the app I would, definitely as close to a 5 for me without giving a full 5 stars. There is a proper way to own a food truck without getting the dreaded "oh, you're going to eat at a food truck" that your friends/family/peers hit you with when you mention food trucks. The customer service was not only friendly, but also efficient (and let me tell you the line was 10 customers deep when I arrived at 12:30pm). The truck's menu was concise, clean, priced correctly and based on how many people were waiting when there were 4 other restaurants within walking distance, I knew I was in for some great cuisine. If you have viewed my other Mexican reviews you know when I try a new place I go street tacos to get a good basis for how the restaraunt stacks up...I was not disappointed! I ordered one steak, one chicken and one beef, all were outstanding; fresh limes, crisp veggies, multiple salsa choices, outstanding all the way around. The only slight (and I am splitting hairs here but the other person I ate with said the exact same words), is the beef taco was bland and the steak was above average but not brag worth to others. The star of the show was the chicken taco with the mild green salsa, I could have eaten 5 of these bad boys! If you are in the area stop by and see for yourself! read more

Passing through town and decided to stop here- absolutely delicious! We ordered Papas Locas which was waffle fries with crema, some crumbled cheese, steak, and a chipotle sauce. Two thumbs way up. We also got the nachos for my kids- they loved them. Ground beef with some kind of white cheese on top, and also maybe some crema, and maybe some shredded lettuce. I can't remember because it went so fast. Last we asked for something without gluten and he gave us two street taco sized corn tortillas with pork and an incredible lime chipotle dipping sauce that I could drink it was so good. Family of four ate every last bite. Smallest issue would be the chips were a bit greasy. If you're eating GF, I don't know how careful they are with cross contamination, but I would not recommend this for celiacs. read more

I have mixed emotions about this place. I went their twice today one for lunch and then for dinner. At lunch I got a steak taco with corn tortilla. It was suppose to come with onions and cilantro, instead it had lettuce blend. Not a deal breaker and steak was tasty. I also got the steak nachos and this thing came with plenty of steak on it but no pico on it or on the side.( it says it comes with pico on it) cheese sauce was a little salty but all in all was pretty good. Another issue I had is that they were out of brisket and carnitas right at the beginning of lunch. I stopped back by for dinner for me and my wife and it was a different crew ( they have lunch and dinner hours) I got an el pastor burrito which was not at all el pastor, it was basically extremely fatty chunks of carnitas. El pastor is made of chilis,adobo sauce and pineapple chunks, this did not at all come close to el pastor so I was very disappointed seeing as this is one of my favorite Mexican tacos. I also got another steak taco this time it came with onions and cilantro but was a different cut of steak. It was still good. All in all I think they have potential but need to pay attention to detail, make sure their orders are made as advertised, have consistency, and have the ingredients on hand to full fill their menu. read more

Excellent tacos and burritos at this conveniently located, food-trucky Mexican outpost on South Grand. The picnic tables are a comfortable, casual and low key setting to grab lunch when the weather cooperates. It's some of the best Mexican food I've ever had in Springfield! I paid $12.50 for a brisket burrito, some chips included on the side, a mango soda and tip. Flavorful and a good value. If their prices were more in-line w/ the not-at-all authentic food they're serving I'd give another star. $5 for street corn made w/ canned corn? Ridiculous. $3 for a taco w/ 2 cheap/poorly made ingredients? Only if your tortillas are homemade & these definitely are not. In addition, at 11:40 on a Monday they were out of al pastor & carnitas?? What? Also, the pico was 3/4 onion, not ripe tomato & very large pieces of cilantro. Seriously? At least cut the stem off the cilantro. smh read more
