Authentic Mexican Flavors with a Beautiful Presentation! This place serves some of the best Mexican food I've had in a while! I ordered the green enchiladas, and they were absolutely delicious--perfectly rolled tortillas filled with flavorful meat, smothered in a rich green sauce, and drizzled with crema and queso fresco. The refried beans were smooth and creamy, and the rice was fluffy with a great seasoning. The burrito was a showstopper! Stuffed with tender steak and grilled veggies, then topped with a creamy, slightly spicy sauce and fresh pico de gallo. The drizzle of crema and queso fresco gave it an extra layer of indulgence. Every bite was packed with flavor, and the portion size was very generous! Service was friendly, and the atmosphere was warm and inviting. If you're craving authentic Mexican food with bold flavors and beautiful plating, this spot is a must-visit. I'll definitely be back! Would highly recommend! read more

After reading all of the great. recommendations, my wife liked her chimichangas, especially the flavorful beef. I thought the chicken was stringy and tough but I agreed with her about the beef and the tortillas themselves were great. Neither of us liked the chips and salsa...the chips were dry and the "salsa" tasted like tomato sauce that had a little hot sauce added to it. The atmosphere was tired and, on a day when it was 100-plus outside either the air conditioning couldn't keep up or, worse, hadn't been turned on at all. read more

The fajitas and tacos we ordered were outstanding. Margaritas, were cold, well balanced, and tasty. Only missing five starts because the chips and salsa were ok. I'd give them a half start for 4.5 if I could, because their habanero salsa that's available on request is amazing. read more

Located inside the old Augie's Front Burner. Maryflor is a simple Tex-Mex style Mexican restaurant. The server we had was bilingual but her English was not very strong. Service was friendly and quick. As far as the decor/ambiance goes, there haven't been any huge changes since it was Augie's. There are some Mexican and American flags on the wall and soccer was on the TV at the bar. I had pollo con chorizo Which was a perfectly grilled chicken breast covered in chorizo and pineapple. The entree came with Mexican rice and refried beans with lettuce and pico. My wife had the taco salad. We split a tamale. All of the food was really good. I think this is one of the better and most authentic Tex-Amex spots in Springfield. read more

Maryflor had good reviews so, while in Springfield, we decided to give it a go. It was the middle of the afternoon and the place was nearly empty. This was good wine we had lots of attention from the servers. The ambiance is nice, albeit a bit rustic. They have a nice selection of items on their menu. There were only two of us so we couldn't try much. What we did try was good. Chips and Salsa: they serve very colorful tortilla chips. They were light and crisp. They serve a mild salsa which had a very good taste. I asked about a spicy salsa and they brought one out that looked the same as the mild. Believe me, looks can be deceiving. This one had a burn. Guacamole: The guacamole was fresh and spiced well. With avocado so expensive these days, the cost was reasonable. This was not so bad, either. Mixed Fajitas (steak and chicken): the fajitas were okay but not outstanding. There was a nice mix of peppers and onion, cilantro, steak and chicken. They forgot the tortillas and when we asked, they brought three. Three is not enough for a full serving of fajitas. Nonetheless, while I've had better, it wasn't bad. Tamale: just for fun, we added one pork tamale. They serve it doused in a mole sauce. I've never had a tamale that way. I admit, this was probably the best item we had. Since this is over three hours from our home, I don't see us returning. If we lived closer, we would definitely give it another try. read more

My train from Springfield was delayed, so I decided to order pick up from this spot which was conveniently 4 minutes away from the train station. I ordered a Burrito Espinaca with chicken. The chicken was a little dry but otherwise the burrito was quite perfect-- the spinach added a nice, unique touch, and the rice and beans were very flavorful. The sauce topping was what really made it stand out. The spinach sauce, queso and sour cream topping was so delicious, it had me dipping everything in it and scraping the plate afterwards. The pick-up order was ready within 30 minutes and the hand-off was smooth and quick. My order also came with a well-sized bag of chips and salsa. The chips were crispy and had good flavor-- a little salty though. The prices were pretty reasonable too for the portion sizes-- I was quite full and satisfied after the meal. -- Price (relative to peers): 4.5/5 Food: 4.5/5 Ambience: N/A Service: 5/5 (quick and seamless pickup) Overall Value: 4.5/5 read more

The food we got (to go) was top tier but when we got home we found our fajitas had melted cheese all over them (both orders) and we got fajitas specifically because they are dairy free (I have a food allergy). I double checked the menu and it doesn't state that cheese come on it. Also, we ordered guac and chips. We didn't get any guac and we got one tiny bag of chips. All three orders were to come with pico, sour cream, cheese, beans and rice. We only got two, though. We are from out of town and drove out of our way because the ratings were great. The food does look amazing and the burrito that was ordered by my father was "best burrito in Springfield!" (Dad is from here) So I totally recommend going, just double check your out take and beware of the cheese on the fajitas! Haha read more

Service was prompt and very courteous Food is delicious I ordered a vegetarian Chipotle burrito and it was filled with a perfect mix of well seasoned and lightly cooked vegetables and rice: cauliflower, peppers, onions, carrots, peas and black beans. The red, white and green tortillas are a nice touch and the salsa is very good. I will return! read more

I am visiting Springfield from Chicago and I was looking for somewhere to eat around here. After endless searching I stumbled across this place which was two blocks from the hotel. This place has some of the best food I have ever tasted. The fajitas were phenomenal. I got a combo of steak and chicken and they were piping hot and so delicious. The portions are huge so i definitely had leftovers. My boyfriend got the green chicken enchiladas and he loved them as well, and he also had leftovers. The prices were great and I highly recommend trying this spot out if you're in town visiting or even just happen to be in the area. 10/10 recommend. Also I would have taken a picture of the food but it smelled so good I couldn't help but devour it the second it hit the table. read more

I recently visited the restaurant with a group of my coworkers. The service was so slow that we ended up having to get our order to go (we were on our 1 hour lunch break). I ultimately did not end up eating my food for several reasons. 1. It wasn't that good. 2. It looked gross (the beans were nearly soup like). My coworkers and I agreed that we should've cancelled the order. read more

I tried MaryFlor 5 months ago and have been back 6x since. The food is delicious and reasonably priced. Not giving 5 stars only bcz of decor; it's the typical banners, flags and sombreros. It's nice, and clean, don't get me wrong, the bathrooms are in great shape as well, just typical decor is all. I can get lunch for under $10 here and I am all over that fact. MaryFlor is my new favorite Mexican restaurant and a welcome site to the downtown area of Springfield. And they are open until 9pm, too!! read more

I'm visiting Springfield from Grand Rapids, MI, where we have some pretty good taco options. I didn't go in here expecting to be blown away by the tacos...we were just hungry, the restaurant was open, and my friend and I are always up for Mexican food. But I have to say, one bite of my taco and I was, indeed, blown away! The carne had a little bit of crispiness on the edges and the onions had been sautéed a bit, which I prefer over raw. They were delicious. Two tacos, chips and salsa...$6. It was perfect and I'd definitely be a regular at Maryflor if I lived around here! read more

Overpriced and our server was sketchy. I asked for a hot sauce with my meal, specifically with a brand name (Tapatio, Cholula, etc) and she says they only have their own. I then proceed to ask her the spice level and she says there is not much spice. The sauce arrives in one of those little to go ketchup containers, is hot as all hell and disgusting...and then tried to charge us $1.50 for it. My wife couldn't even finish her grease soaked taco and my street tacos were not too far away from pure grease bombs too. Fortunately, the rice and chips/salsa were delicious and saved the 1* review. The A/C is broken or not turned on, we were the only people in there at noon on a Saturday...enough said! read more

Excellent food. The salsa tasted so fresh and set the tone for the rest of the meal. We will definitely back.

My husband said he had one of the best fajitas meal he has ever had. It was sizzling for quite some time and it smelled delicious! I had a very good taco salad with shredded chicken. The young woman was friendly and provided good service. We would recommend this restaurant. It could use a little updating. read more

Tucked in the downtown streets of Springfield! We made reservations for a larger party on a Thursday night for 8 pm. We didn't know they closed at 9 but they still took us. We were the only ones is the place all night. The staff was very friendly and efficient. The food tasted authentic and the margs were strong. All in all a very great spot for Mexican food! It was difficult to find due to Apple Maps placing it on the opposite of the street so I would suggest using Google if you're not familiar with the location. read more

Maryflor - Chipotle Burrito. It's Huge! - Mexican Near Me - Springfield, Illinois

The food was very good, especially considering that Springfield has been underserved in Mexican restaurants until recently. I'm a native of Southern California and do miss the flavors and quality I grew up with. This new restaurant is a keeper for downtown as far as I'm concerned. One thing I look for in Mexican food is Spanish rice that is moist and not dried out and Maryflor nailed it. Welcome to town Maryflor. read more

There aren't a lot of restaurants in Springfield open on a Monday but that's ok since Maryflor is amazing and the place everyone should go regardless of the day of the week! Not only was service quick, the food in incredible. I had the taco plate and a tamales. Tacos are hit or miss in my opinion. These ones were definitely a hit and worth trying if you come here. read more

Hands down best birria tacos in town. The dipping sauce was fantastic and thicker than I've had at other places in town, thebeans and rice delicious. The guacamole was definitely the highlight for me. A large portion and smooth and creamy with a little heat, but not too much. The queso was good, just your average queso. I'll go back for the guacamole alone. They had great portion sizes, too, the three birria tacos were big enough that I had leftovers and some leftover beans and rice, too. The service was a little touch and go, but they had tons of to go orders flying out and 4-5 other tables when we were leaving. They were very responsive and quick when we asked for a refill on chips and water, though, and got 7/8 orders correct, just missed adding one egg on a chorizo taco. Still worth 5 stars to me. And who cares about the decor when the food is this good?! Will definitely be going back. read more

I have eaten in, and taken out. I highly recommend this jewel. Authentic and excellent!

When two other places in downtown Springfield were closed or didn't wait on us within 15 minutes, we ventured into Mary Flor and what a wonderful find it was from the salsa, chips to our entrees and frozen margs it was awesome! The best in Springfield, and surrounding area. I had the chimichanga and my husband had the pork carnitas. Both were excellent! read more

Just across the street from the Old Capitol and the outside restaurant awning is quite inviting! Loved the interior decorations with some classic mexican art and the sarape adorned tables throughout the restaurant. Came for a quick lunch on our way out of Springfield and really glad we stopped by. I was bummed they didn't have the birria tacos that early in the day but was still just as happy to get the Chipotle Burrito. Presentation was making my eyes drool and the taste buds were living for the flavor. I always recommend ordering a mexican dish with a Jarrito and was happy to see they had many flavors. Our server was attentive and provided great service. Look forward to seeing Maryflor secure their liquor license to enjoy some Margaritas for dinner here! read more

Food was delicious! Prices were reasonable. Another great Mexican choice for Springfield!

Every single thing I've ordered has been great. Birria tacos, piña locas (with steak), fajitas, and the best Al pastor I've had in town! Very generous portions. Their lemonades are also delicious. They also do serve alcohol now with several options of margarita flavors. read more

Relocated here a year ago from Chicago and tried this place for the first time. I had high hopes. But such a let down. I spent about $18 with tip for an extremely small burrito that was lackluster and more fries and chips than I knew what to do with. Essentially spent $18 for fries and chips. Portion size where it counted is terribly and the flavor did not make up for it. read more

Best Mexican I've ever had. The food was just sooooo flavorful! Looking forward to eating there again!

Yikes, so I get it. There were a lot of people because of the FFA State Convention. The lady seats us, and it's packed, but I understand and empathize with her. We get the menus and my fellow patron orders, but I need more time to be ready. I ask for a minute and after a good couple of minutes have to flag her down so I can order. I order the tacos con carne azada and she asks me if I want rice and beans, I say no beans just rice. She then walks away, I've not yet finished ordering at this point! However, I sit in silence because I understand they are packed. I get my food but I notice I got only one taco. No rice, no beans. One taco cut in half. I eat it because I have somewhere to be and its good. I enjoy the taco. I go to pay and it's 15 bucks including tax. I am confused but pay in cash. I give the lady, who from the receipt I know is named Maria, a twenty dollar bill. I get handed back 3 whole dollars. I don't know about you, but the math ain't mathing. Furthermore, I go to the website and online menu to find out for that price I should've gotten 3 tacos con carne azada, frijoles (beans), AND rice!!! I'm sorry, what I got was nothing like that! Your complimentary salsa and chips was too watery too! Spice was good, but that's all I can say for your favor. read more
