I am having a hard time putting into words how truly WONDERFUL my experience at Second Summer Bride was!! First of all, I chose Second Summer Bride because 1) I only wanted to go to shops that were affordable for a bride on a budget and 2) because their reviews were AWESOME! I am all about reading up on companies before I give them my business and I didn't read one bad review about SS. I also just have to say that when I pictured a consignment store in my head, I never imagined a place as beautiful and elegantly decorated as Second Summer. When I first walked in the door, I just knew I would find my dress here. Natalie, who is a gorgeous young woman AND a complete ANGEL, helped me find "The Dress." She was an absolute pleasure from the second I walked in the door to when I came back for my dress. You can tell by just looking at the way she carries herself and from the way she dresses that she has impeccable style. THIS is the type of individual you want to help style you for the most important day of your life!! And she is just as sweet as she is beautiful. I cannot say enough about how great it was having her help that day. THANK YOU Natalie! I feel like I am going a little overboard here, but after going to my second appointment (after SS) at a different bridal shop across the street where I was treated badly and had an awful experience, I really have to stress how important it is to choose a place that not only has amazing wedding dresses to choose from but also has awesome customer service as well. This is the ONE time you get to do this!! I brought my mom, future MIL and my 4 Maids of Honor (I know, I'm crazy) to my appointment. We had our own room with PLENTY of space, so that was really nice. What I really loved, being a bride with curves, was that Natalie directed me to the dresses that were in my price range AND my size! My body is hour glass shape, so going into the appointment I was worried that I would be limited to what I would be able to try on. However, that was never the case! I felt really good about myself the entire time. I also really loved that Natalie understood my personal style. Being the last out of all of my friends to get married, I really want my wedding to be unique in every way and obviously the dress is a HUGE part in all of that. She totally got that and although I tried on several dresses that my friends, moms and I chose, I ended up falling in love with one that Natalie chose! We went to another appointment (the awful one I mentioned before) but NOTHING compared to the feeling I had when I put on the dress at Second Summer. **Also, and this is important to brides on a budget, Natalie did everything she could to help me out to make the dress more affordable. You could tell that she genuinely wanted me to have the dress of my dreams and would do anything in her power to make that happen. I didn't think that I would actually have "that feeling" that every bride describes where you tear up and you just don't EVER want to take your dress off. I totally did!! I am so happy I gave SS my business and I 110% recommend to EVERY bride to go to Second Summer to find their dress! Thanks AGAIN Natalie and Second Summer Bride for making my day and helping me find The Dress! read more

Jessica helped me-she made me feel great shopping within my price point. The selection was fantastic. I've been to bridal shops that make you feel like you are in a factory. This location is friendly, fun and has great aesthetics. They even have a list of recommended tailors. read more

I had just given up on a dream dress, so I came into Second Summer Bride a bit dejected. However, I was welcomed warmly, given a chance to look around without an appointment, and scheduled an appointment for the next day. Cara was the consultant and was very kind and patient as I tried on 6 and re-tried the 2 I was deciding between. She helpfully arranged the train and clips to get the best front and back view for photos. She brought some veils to try on as well. I felt comfortable and cared for at this appointment. Ultimately, I did find THE dress here and was so happy with the quality of the dress and the price! My experience was such a positive one -- so glad I went! read more

I would go here before I would go to Serendipity or David's. You will find a great selection of dresses to match your price range. The staff is incredibly helpful and knowledgeable about the merchandise that they have on hand. Also the expansion has opened up a wide verity of new gowns. read more

this is a dream bridal shop! After trying to find my dress online & purchasing two dresses that weren't fantastic, Audrey helped me find my dream dress. She was so patient, kind, and considerate during the appointment and she made me really feel like a bride for the first time. I am 100% in LOVE with my dress, and the price was great. I just can't recommend this shop enough! read more

I went to three other bridal shops before going to Second Summer. I found my dress right off the rack. There was a bit of miscommunication about getting my dress, and I almost had to leave without getting it, but the ladies working were extremely helpful and bent over backwards to make sure I got the dress I wanted. I would recommend people starting their search for the perfect dress here! read more

Amber was helpful and professional. She wasn't pushy but made great recommendations! Even after a couple minutes she got my style and knew what I liked. The gowns she chose were perfect and I had to struggle to pick between two. I walked away with my dress and I'm so excited! read more

I recently purchased my wedding dress from Second Summer Bride and I am so happy I did my research and found this gem of a bridal store! The woman I worked with (who's name escapes me at the moment) was incredibly sweet and attentive. The selection of dresses at the store was very impressive and the quality and style of the dresses at this store were fantastic! I highly recommend this store!! read more

The ladies at Second Summer Bridal are amazing!! The store is adorable and has a homey feeling. The dresses are beautiful and unique. The ladies are so attentive and professional. You feel like you have an extra girlfriend with you! Thank you ladies for helping me find my dress! Make this your first stop when looking for your wedding dress! You will not be disappointed! read more

I had an awful experience here, and I was so surprised because of all the good reviews. Second Summer Bride is a very neat place, tons of selection. The lady at the front desk was very friendly and welcoming, and let us start looking while we waited for the previous appointment to end. We were very impressed at first. Raquel seemed annoyed from the moment we met her. She was rude, unwelcoming, and uninterested. She seemed angry. Every time I disliked a dress, she just stared at me perplexed and seemed very offended. She started bringing in other dresses, which was absolutely fine, but at the end of the appointment we still had 2-3 of the dresses I had picked out that we never even got to try. I pointed this out to her, and she got very irritated and I just said never mind and we left. Reading the reviews, I am not the only person to have this experience with her. This really was a sad experience for me, my mother, and my mother in law. This was our first day shopping for dresses, and it just felt bad to be treated so rudely. I am not one to write bad reviews for less than ideal customer service, but this was such a bad experience that I hope it gets the attention of Signature Bridal Salon. Raquel clearly does not enjoy her job. We all have bad days, but it shouldn't be taken out on your customers. read more

Didn't end up getting my dress here, but I had a wonderful experience with the process (and yes, they have a great selection). Natalie, who helped me try on my dresses, was so unpretentious, knowledgeable and sweet - she made my day awesome. I may end up going back to pick up some bridal accessories (ribbon belt, jewelry, hair accessories, etc.) because they had a bunch of cute ones I want to check out. I recommend this place--it will be the most positive experience you'll have while wedding-dress-shopping! read more

This place is wonderful for both buying and selling! The staff is very friendly and there is a no pressure environment in the air. There are dresses for every type of bride in a huge variety of styles! All are really high quality too. read more

I bought my dress here a few months ago after a friend recommended this store. I had a great experience! The woman who helped us was so kind and helpful. We told her the budget and the size we needed, and she was very accommodating. I would definitely recommend Second Summer Bride to all my friends! read more

I had the best shopping experience at Second Summer Bride! I would tell you to start here first. I had gone to two other bridal salons in town that day, and didn't get the same warm, welcoming feeling as I did here. Luckily I had an exceptional sales consultant help me. Natalie made me feel comfortable from the minute I walked in. I walked around the shop and picked out a few dresses I liked. She too picked out some for me. I tried on one she picked and it ended up being the one! I am more than happy with my dress and the shop! The only thing I didn't care for, is that we shared the main salon area with another family. It was hard to feel comfortable walking out there with a male guest out there. If you've tried on dresses, you know they don't cover everything. At one point I just asked to walk into the side room to speak more freely and feel more comfortable with Natalie and my mom. read more

Last night I bought my dress here and I am so excited! I had a wonderful experience here! I am so excited about my dress that I completely forgot the name of the consultant helping me, but she was amazing, and there was another girl working up front who was also extremely friendly and super awesome. I felt like they truly love helping people find the right dress, and that they were having fun at their job. The girl at the front desk popped in every time she heard us oohing and aahing over a dress, and she would also offer great input. It really makes it fun when the employees are just as excited as you are! It was the end of the day, and my mom and I were tired after not quite finding what we were looking for at any other stores. They really helped re-energize us and get us excited after losing faith that we may not find the one. I tried on maybe 4 or 5 dresses, but we had it narrowed down to two that really worked. The consultant let me change back into each dress a few times while my mom and I were trying to decide which one we loved the most, and she brought out different accessories so I could get ideas of how I could work each style. It was a tough decision, but we finally made it and I am so happy! The selection here is also amazing, they have so many designer options in all sizes and price ranges. They also have many great accessories, I can't wait to come back closer to the wedding and shop for those. I really like that I was able to go with a greener option and support a fantastic local business, too! read more

I didn't pick my dress here, but this is an awesome business. Beautiful store and lots of awesome dresses for every style and every budget. Great customer service and advice. They help you pick dresses and also let you browse your own. read more

This was our first stop for dress shopping and I found the one!!! I was pleasantly surprised at the incredible selection they offer and the attentiveness they give every client when you're feeling overwhelmed/anxious trying out 15 different gowns. Second summer doesn't feel like a stuffy dress shop, the gowns are stunning and reasonably priced compared to high end places!! The best part is that most of the dresses I tried on were never bought and worn, they were actually sample dresses from the upscale boutiques around Austin. I came in unsure of what I was looking for, and thankfully ended up with a gown that accents the waistline and has beautiful beaded detail with sequins covering the torso. I am in love!!! read more

I was one of those brides that bought her wedding dress from a fancy boutique and had major wedding dress regrets 2 months before the wedding!! Thank God I happened to stumble upon this place on my lunch break one day. I explained my situation to the ladies there and they were very helpful, but not too pushy at all. They let me browse and bring back a friend to try things, without being over bearing. I ended up finding the dress of my dreams, and at a reasonable price, to where I didn't feel too guilty about ditching dress #1. Their selection is great, I would def. recommend this shop to anyone needing a dress! read more

Best dressed and accessories around! So unique and adorable! Would recommend to any bride to be!

I had a wonderful experience at Second Summer. My roommate from college got her dress here and sent me their way and they didn't disappoint! They girls were super helpful on the phone when I called to book a same-day appointment. They didn't have any but said they would call me if they had a cancellation and they did. The section of dressed was GIANT. So many designers in all different price ranges. I tried on everything from ombre mermaid dressed to 20s style flapper dresses to ultra-traditional white and ivory lace. It was tons of fund and I would recommend this place to anyone, particularly if you are on a budget! read more

This place has a ton of selection, and if you are going for a nice dress without going the David's Bridal route, you are in good hands here. My dress had never been worn, but was a 2012 style (seriously though, does anyone actually care?). As a result I paid about $970 for a dress that (I looked it up) was originally $2,500. Think about that for a second. I got a designer wedding gown that I otherwise could NEVER have afforded for under a grand. So why the four stars? I almost didn't ding them that fifth star, but: the lighting in this store is not that great, which means that if you are shopping multiple stores and trying to compare photos to know what you want to do, this place does NOT photo well, and the colors (yes, colors! shades of white and ivory!) are distorted in photos and in person. I'm sharing a couple photos to demonstrate (explanations in photo captions). Additionally, the stylist who worked with me kind of took the fun out of it. She was just not at all into it, and while there is a degree to which that's fair (it's not her wedding, and she puts women in dresses all day - she can't be uber pumped constantly!), her dour demeanor did affect my shopping experience. I was hesitant to try on too many things because I was afraid I was annoying/boring her, and my own reactions to things became subdued because she was so disinterested in the whole process. This experience should be fun and exciting -- she didn't ruin it for me, but she did bring me down a bit. So poor lighting + lame employee = 4 stars instead of 5. That I bought my dress here had everything to do with the dress and nothing to do with the stylist. As an aside, if when you go they recommend you do your alterations at Kira Kouture, listen to them. Kira's the best. read more

I ended up purchasing a dress at their sister store (Blush Bridal Lounge), but I'd strongly recommend Second Summer Bride to any bride. Even if you have the budget to splurge, it never hurts to check out an affordable store with great customer services and a wide range of selection. My best friend works on weekdays and my family lives out of town, so I went alone on an weekday afternoon with a couple of Pinterest pictures. It was my first dress shopping destination and I wasn't sure what to expect without an entourage, but Natalie was super friendly and helpful and I had a great time trying on different types of dresses. She made great recommendations based on my feedback and took pictures with my phone. I ended up loving the solo dress-shopping experience. Try to go during the week and browse through their racks; you'll probably find "the one" here! read more

Natalie made my day. I came in less than two weeks before my wedding and in less than 30 minutes I was out the door, with my dream dress, headband and earrings in hand. She was so helpful and worked me in between another appointment. I really appreciated that. Sobs was able to pick out my dream dress that stayed within my budget, AND find something that requires NO alterations. She truly knows her inventory and was able to quickly read between the lines to pluck the perfect dress off the rack. I can't say enough great things about my experience at Second Summer Bride. I highly recommend checking them out!!! read more

I do not have enough good words for Second Summer Bride. I had an appointment with Natalie and she was amazing. I found an amazing Romona Keveza dress but due to hesitation on my part I missed the chance to buy it. Instead, I ended up buying a dress I didn't love. In a panic I called and asked if I could bring my current dress to try on next to a new batch of dresses for comparison. Although I ultimately found my perfect dress at another boutique, both Natalie and Emily were so helpful and amazing. At the end of the day, when I had tried on every possible dress that might fit all of my wants, Natalie gave me some wonderful recommendations of other places to try. All of the dresses they sell are in amazing condition and of the highest quality. Thanks again for everything ladies! read more

I had a great experience. Natalie is so sweet and helpful! She took the time out and asked questions about my fiancee and I. She made me feel so special! She helped me find the dress that I love and for a reasonable price. I got the dress and a sash for under $1200 after taxes. They also offer for you to sell your dress back and 50% back. They have a huge selection as well. I liked a lot of the dresses I tried on. I had been to Belle Saison, Alexia Gavela, and Blue Bridal. read more

I was looking for affordable bridal gowns that were also unique and came across this place on yelp. I had looked at a few other stores like David's Bridal, Belle Saison, etc. but this place was the only store that made me feel at ease and had a selection that had a little oomph to it. They are totally cool if you just want to browse or if you have an appointment. I think the other stores I've been to are a little bit stuffy, and there's some sort of pushiness, but Second Summer did not make me feel like that at all, and that's probably my favorite thing about them. I spent more than I originally wanted, and overall their dress prices are about high 800s to low thousands when I was shopping there. However, you are getting designer dresses that would be at least 3 times what you would get brand new elsewhere. So overall, I don't regret spending a bit more to get something more special than what other stores have. I think the people they have available to help out and pin-point your style are really really good at what they do. I was able to figure out and find the dress I wanted after just trying on 4 dresses. I was also told what kind of work would need to be done on my dress, which really helped with my decision making process. They really made dress shopping really easy and they allow you to go at your own pace. Would recommend going here. I really like the idea of recycling dresses. Just because someone else used to wear it, it doesn't make it any less special for your own wedding. I would recommend this route if you're looking for a more affordable way of getting a brand name wedding dress or something that's a bit different than what your typical David's Bridal store carries. read more

I was in here 3 times before I found the perfect dress! Each time I had a warm greeting and a great experience! The ladies took their time and really listened to my wants and needs! Thank you ladies for making it a great experience for me! I highly recommend! read more

I had a horrible experience at second summer bride. Raquel was helping us and she was so cold and stand-offish from the start. She hardly spoke to us, offered very little help or suggestions, and just walked off after trying on the last dress. I had read great reviews and was excited to try second summer bride, but left with such a bad taste in my mouth that lasted for hours. I definitely imagine had we gotten a different person helping us our experience would be better, but I definitely wouldn't come back after the experience I had and have ruled out buying the dresses I liked from the store so I don't have to go back. Trying on dresses should be an exciting positive experience, not leave you feeling confused and uncomfortable. read more

I had the same experience with Raquel that other reviewers have noted. From the moment we arrived she was cold and standoffish. She also made us feel as if we were not welcome to browse the dresses on our own. My whole party was confused about that until another consultant came in towards the end of our appointment, and that consultant immediately had her bride looking through gowns. In addition, the gowns that Raquel picked out (for the most part) were nothing like I had asked for. Trying on dresses with her was incredibly awkward- she just stood there with an irritated look on her face, and occasionally asked forced questions to try to make small talk. Any reaction that I had to the dresses was basically met with silence. This was my first time trying on dresses, and she really soured my experience. I was originally super excited about Second Summer Bride, but I actually ended up enjoying my appointment at David's Bridal far more than my appointment here. At least the consultant there was friendly, allowed us to pick out gowns, provided feedback, and was encouraging. I never write reviews, but my experience at Second Summer was so bad that I had to voice my concerns in the hopes that management will do something about Raquel. read more

I have SO many great things to share about this store. First - I have never ever understood why someone would pay thousands of dollars for a wedding dress that they were going to wear for a couple hours... why not put that towards your honeymoon, down payment on a house, savings for a baby... etc?! Yes, I did my due dilligence before I came to visit Second Summer Bride and saw the lovely 5 STAR reviews they had on Yelp.... so I called, made an appointment and was extremely satisfied (to say the least)!. I went in the first time and asked the manager if she could let me know when/if she received any specific wedding dress brand in stock. Since I hadn't heard from her in a while, I decided to message her via the Second Summer Bride FB page, and I got a response VERY quickly! She told me that she hadn't received the brand of dress I had my heart set on but that she did have some others in my size that she thought I would like. She encouraged me to make an appt and come in. During my appointment I tried on a few beautiful dresses but neither of them were "the one". When my mother, and mother-in-law came in town the next month I made another appt (since their inventory is regularly changing) and after visiting several other PRICY wedding boutiques, found that upon my Second Summer Bride appt, the accomodations were MUCH nicer, they offered us drinks, had comfortable couches, with large mirrors, and were very attentive and helped me try on several dresses. Unfortunately, none were "the one" and as we were about to leave, the manager asked me if I had checked out the sale rack. Instantly I thought "ugh the sale rack probably has lower quality, cheaper, pre-owned selection" but, I decided to give it a try. I AM SO THANKFUL I DID! I found a brand NEW gown that was hand made - never worn for 25% of the original price! I tried it on, and the ladies helped me decide on what changes I would make (taking the neckline in to sweetheart). I was THRILLED! $500 for a brand new handmade dress? I also bought a GORGEOUS crystal belt to bling up the dress a bit. The finished product was better than I could have ever planned. Since SSB carries everything you could need for your wedding attire needs, I ended up buying pearl hair accessories, shoes (for 50% off original price), a matching veil, etc ALL under $900. They also recommended a few seamstresses and after talking with them, spoke with Olga who is in the process of taking the dress in a little bit. I tell all of my friends getting married about SSB! Do yourself a favor and GO! read more

Shop here for great prices on designer gowns and amazing, personal service. This is the first shop I visited & only had to try on about 8 gowns. The whole experience at Second Summer was fantastic for me, my mom and 2 sisters, including manager Audrey whose experience in personal shopping really shows. They would've held my dress for a day, but when a dress feels perfect it doesn't make sense to look at mass-produced retailers. I can't stop bragging. I wish every part of the planning process was as effortless and fun. I also can't stop looking at my dress & really can't wait to wear it! read more

I had such a great experience at Second Summer. The staff members were all so sweet, attentive, and helpful. Moreover, I found my dress at a GREAT price. Couldn't say enough how much I would recommend this place! read more

I had so much FUN shopping here. If you've been dress shopping you know this can be the opposite of what dress shopping is. I've been to 7 shops in 2 cities and this was the best. The inventory was gorgeous and unique, they let YOU browse and YOU choose what you want to try on (again, this can be the opposite of other shops), and they know their shop so they can easily find something in your budget and style that will flatter you. My stylist Natalie was so helpful and encouraging, it felt like she was part of my bridal party. Of the 5 shops I visited in Austin, this is the best! Definitely check it out! read more

Its been a long time coming for me to write this review as i didn't think i would have to. I purchased a wedding dress that i was fooled buy. I went in with my mother in law and staff was really friendly however when i tried on what i though was "The Dress" i soon found out by my seamstress was way to small for me and they should have never let me purchased it. I had to loose at least 5 inches and then some for this dress to fit me. 6 months later i have lost 24 pounds and I'm still not fitting into the dress. The way they hid this from me was the lace around the dress stretched and they did not tell me when helping into the dress that the inside part of the dress was not zipped up all the way. My mother in also did not notice this since the lace was covering it up. they make you sign a waiver indicating all sales are final so i am out of my money. I have 6 months till my wedding and i am now on a mad dash to find a dress since i was fooled by this place. Please shop elsewhere so you will not have to be like me a very stressed out and disappointed bride. read more

No returns! Unfortunately I learned the hard way. 3 stars because they took me in on a Saturday without an appt. We only had time to try on 4 dresses and I quickly chose the last one. It was the quickest 20 minutes of my life! I was alone, and I wish I would have placed the dress on hold to get some feedback from family and friends. It was not stated upon checkout that there are absolutely no refunds or exchanges. However, I did sign the contract without reading thoroughly. I fully realized what I signed as soon as I got home. I also did some web searching on the designer's site, and the same exact dress was on sale for over $400 dollars less than what I paid at Second Summer. And to top it off the dress has a faulty zipper. I felt completely ripped off! Unfortunately, I will not be wearing this dress for my wedding day. read more

I wouldn't give this place any stars. Let me start by saying , two weeks ago I went shopping for my first wedding dress ever. I went to the Blush Bridal store first, had an amazing experience but due to time constraints of my wedding in the very near future, they suggested their sister store, Second Summer Bridal. Myself and my bridesmaids were greeted poorly as soon as we walked in the door, we had made our appointment a month ago and the lady at the front desk apparently had no idea! The fairly young, brunette lady who was appointed to me, was distracted and hurriedly put us in the back room w a limit to five dresses to try on. I am a new bride so I rolled with the poor quality of service when I really wanted to run. I tried on the first of five dresses my bridesmaids picked out, not the consultant who should have been more helpful. The first dress SMELLED like armpits. I wanted to literally puke and this is supposed to be a great experience. We left and all my ladies were just as appalled as I was and I was about to give up on dress shopping all together until I found 150% quality service and caring coordinators at Serpendipty. I bought my dress on that very day and took it home ;) read more

I heard stories about brides-to-be spending hours and days shopping for "the one" dress. I found Second Summer online via Yelp and decided to stop in when I was in the neighborhood to check it out. I had never been in a "bridal salon" so I didn't know what to expect. I was greeted promptly by a very friendly lady who let me take a look around the shop. I was sold! I went ahead and scheduled an appointment. On the day of dress shopping, I again was greeted by a super friendly gal and immediately introduced me to Natalie my personal "wedding dress shopper". We were able to accommodate my party of 6 easily in one of their fitting areas. Second Summer is so unassuming with regards to the layout, selection of dresses, and sales people. I felt very comfortable and no one was ever "pushy". Natalie choose a few dresses and I choose a few and with an open mind, I tried on anything and everything. After about an hour, I found "the one" and couldn't have been happier. I love that wedding dresses can be affordable and still beautiful. They have a wide range of styles that I think any bride could find their dress. Hands down! Second Summer Bride crew made something that has been known to be stressful soooo easy and actually fun!! They have a group of helpful professional staff and a selection of amazing gowns! Shop no more and try Second Summer!! read more

Some people have their wedding dress style picked out by age 12 - that is just not me. I walked into Second Summer not really knowing what I wanted other than a dress that would make me feel confident and comfortable. It was like Natalie could read my mind. They had a great inventory - for women of all shapes and sizes - at good prices. Natalie helped me select a bunch of dresses to try on including a super-fun pink ombre dress that I didn't choose, but was a delight to try on. In the end, I found a dress that I loved and added a belt from their great assortment of accessories. The shopping experience was stress-free and fun, which is about the best I could ask for. Thanks, Second Summer! P.S. The tailor in their shop, Kira, was also fantastic. Check her out on Yelp at Kira Kouture. read more
