Let me start by saying I hate dresses, in general, I just hate them. So going shopping for The Dress was not something I was looking forward to. As soon as I walked in and saw all the dresses I was completely overwhelmed and sad that I wasn't more excited about this. Well I said Yes to the Dress! While this wasn't the most fun I've had in my life Emily made this actually kind of fun and not painful at all. I was surprised at how many dresses I actually tried on. Emily was amazing! I told her my distaste for dresses when we started but gave her an idea or general description of things I thought were pretty about dresses, as long as they were on other people. I picked out about five dresses between myself and my mom but when I went into the dressing room there were about TEN of them. Emily had snuck several in based on the dresses I picked out myself. She did a great job at chatting me up and keeping me positive and motivated to get through all the dresses. When I would try on a few dresses she would ask me questions about different dresses I liked or didn't like to help me sort out ones that I liked but didn't love. Before we left I was torn between two dresses and she encouraged me to go have lunch and think about it. I had an appointment in two hours with another bridal shop (which was disappointing) and she said go to that appointment and not risk missing out on the dress of my dreams. She said that if while I was out I felt like I just couldn't live without on of the dresses I tried on to call back with the Style Number and she would pull it for me. Three hours later I was backing to purchase the very first dress I tried on. I can't believe the first one I tried on was THE ONE. So a huge huge thanks to EMILY! Second Summer might not look like much from the outside, but get yourself up to Anderson Lane and step into a perfectly curated world of affordable bridal delights. This shop is cute, adorable, approachable, and very clean. I wish I could have bought my dress from Audrey (they hadn't quite opened yet). I guess I'll have to settle for escorting my girlfriends on shopping trips. Oh, and buying a few pieces of jewelry from the selection by the front counter. Seriously, at least go look at the accessories. Necklaces, fascinators, headbands, sashes, for the bride and guest alike. I can't say enough about this shop and the gals there! First, if you have any hesitation about purchasing pre-wed or sample dress, get over it. You'll be passing up the chance to get the dress of your dreams (that you can afford) and still have $$ for your honeymoon!! Getting an appointing was super easy. Audrey responded quickly to my email request and was great at working around my schedule. The shop was very cozy and inviting. There are several dresses to choose from, but not overwhelming. The setting is very intimate and I felt like I was center of attention for my special day. At my appointment, I found "the dress" while still on the hanger. I went ahead and tried several other dresses on just to make sure. We had so much fun and all of the staff - Audrey, Batina and Erica were fabulous. I had an amazing experience at Second Summer Bride back in February. It was my second bridal shop, and turned out to be my final. I had a firm budget of $1,000, but there were so many dresses to choose from. I didn't feel limited at all. The best part was my stylist, Natalie. She was warm and honest, and made me feel so comfortable during the appointment. She has incredible style and really knows dresses. I tried on MANY dresses over a two hour period and never felt rushed or pressured. Natalie was so patient as my mom and two bridesmaids would proclaim...ahhh now THIS is my favorite one!! ... every time. In the end my favorite was a gorgeous dress from the clearance rack with a price tag of $500. The seamstress that I took it to said it had no visible signs of ever being worn! So either it was never actually worn by another bride, or it was cleaned extremely well :) I would recommend SSB to any bride who wants a great selection and a great deal! I worked with Natalie who was extremely helpful-- I only came in with general notions of what I did/did not want and she helped me figure out what was flattering on my figure as well as best for my wedding. This bridal shop was everything that I needed. I have had the most fun planning my wedding, but until now the least fun finding a dress. My size is short and fluffy, while my budget is bare bones at best. The girls listened to all of my wants and needs and all three excitedly went to work to find my perfect dress. Once they found it, they even offered to knock down the price to significantly closer to my range so that it was just within reach. This was very sweet of them and showed that they cared a lot about ME more than the profit of the sale. I am ashamed to say that although I don't have cold feet about marrying the man of my dreams, I did get cold feet about buying that wedding dress right now. So this place was the first place I went to find a dress. I decided to reward the #1 Yelp picks for my wedding. SUCH AN AMAZING BRIDAL STORE!! I had to go alone because my mom had to work and my friends couldn't make it. Natalie was so sweet and helped me with everything! I'm a 31 year old bride and almost cried like a baby in all the dresses that Natalie helped me with. She even took some photos to send to my mother so she could help out. They also have a seamstress to do alterations right there (separate but close!) Kira. I found my dream dress, second hand, in my size! Perfect prices! Also, I don't know how many people have done this before but the frustrating thing I found at other stores is they only carry certain sizes to keep cost and damages down. Not here. She let me have free reign over the store to pick out dresses that I liked, and didn't pressure me in any way. And the prices. The prices are amazing. I purchased a $2500 Robert Bullock dress for $700! I can't believe the deal I got. They make sure all the dresses are cleaned before putting them up for sale, but my dress had a small spot on the train that had been missed. This was my third visit to a bridal salon and it couldn't have better! Sara was so sweet and patient, and she answered so many of my questions. The dressing rooms are large and so is the area for your guests to sit when you step out to showcase your dress. I came here hoping I'd get lucky and I did. I cant say enough about Audrey and the shop... I purchased my dress, sash and veil at an amazing price from the shop in November of last year when we began planning the wedding. Things took an unexpected turn here and there with our color scheme and some other details with the event as well. I needed to change my sash and veil to go with the new direction and Audrey was a great help! She suggested I bring my dress in to try on some new options and we could put the items I needed to change on consignment. Consigntment portion was easy as pie. I bought an absolutely beautiful Lazaro wedding dress from Second Summer Bride last week. I came back 3 times to try it on before making a final decision, as unfortunately I went quite a bit over my planned budget... my own fault the girl helping me Kristen warned me when I wanted to try it on that it was over the budget I'd given her. However, as I've been telling myself ever since I got it that it's actually a great deal considering it was only a third of the original price of the gown. And while my current plans are to keep the dress to pass down to a future daughter, Kristen told me the shop does do consignment, so if I decided to sell it later (and it was still in great condition) they would sell it for me in the shop (with half the final selling price going to me and the other half to them). Oh another nice feature is that they let me know about the valentines day promotional in which while writing up the contract you get to draw from a hat to get from $50 to $300 off your gown (I wound up drawing $100). I decided to do that and they even let me draw the day before the promotional so I wouldn't need to come back in the following day. So I love absolutely love the dress that I bought, they did let me come back in to retry on the dress twice after my original appointment (I have to admit I did get the impression I was trying their patience though), the store did have a nifty Austin vibe but did seem a bit rundown, and make sure to look the dresses over well, some were not in the best condition (and you buy them as is). Overall though great experience and I wound up with a wonderful dress! Oh last tip is that there sign is crazy hard to read when driving by, so be careful so you don't miss it! read more

Where do I start other than this place rocks!! From the staff, to the interior and the options I will be recommending this Second Summer to all of my friends. I was with Emilie and she was great. She knew exactly when to tell me what she thought but also held back when I knew I loved, or didn't love something. Our appointment at Second Summer was AMAZING! We had Sara as our stylist and she was so sweet, accommodating and fun. We really had a great experience with her, and the whole store in general. They have an AMAZING selection, and dresses are sorted by size. They had so many dresses in my size that all looked great and within my budget. Although I didn't end up getting my dress here, I would recommend Second Summer to ANY bride! This place was awesome and so unique. Best experience ever. I found at least 10 dresses that would have worked well. I came back a few days later and found my dream dress! I continue to get so many compliments on the dress I chose. I came here after finding the dress that I thought was "the one" at their sister store, Blush Bridal. We worked with Elise and told her about the other dress but that we wanted to still try on other dresses. At any other store, I'm sure this would have made the appointment a bit awkward but Elise was just AMAZING! First off, she was elated that I found a great dress, and she still did absolutely everything she could to make our experience wonderful. She pulled some beautiful dresses for me to try on and made the appointment so much fun. Second Summer has SO MANY DRESSES. More than any other place we had visited. Even though the majority of the dresses are pre-owned, you would never know. They are all in wonderful condition and they have extremely reasonable price points that can accommodate any bride's budget. The store is laid out beautifully and they have hands down the best setup for where you try on your dress and where you go out to show the crew that came with you. Some of the stores we went to had small viewing areas but at Second Summer you could pretty much bring a baseball team with you and everyone would be comfortable. Elise, thank you so much for being so supportive and positive throughout the entire time we were there. At the end of my appointment I broke down in tears and told my family that the dress I found at Blush Bridal was the one. That's when my sister told me they had already purchased it for me! Second Summer Bride was my second of three stops the other day. When we walked in, we weren't greeted for probably ten minutes, I saw several sales associates just walk past us without even a nod. We did show up a little early to our appointment, so we were expecting to have to wait. Once our associate came to help us..she was nice enough, but I felt very rushed throughout the appointment. If I even hesitated for a second, she would ask if I even wanted to go show my mom and mother-in-law. I get it, if I hesitate, it's not THE dress...but I would like to at least have a second opinion. I know I tried on at least two that they didn't even get to see because I was rushed along into another gown. The whole appointment was probably 30 minutes long. I just had a great experience and found a dress that is better than I could have ever imagined. First off, this store is great. They let you walk around the store and choose up to 6 dresses that you would like to try on at a time. It's also organized by size which I love. It prevents you from getting stuck into the 'ideal' wedding dress and forces you to look at other styles that you would have never thought of. Both Audrey and Natalie were very sweet and thoughtful. Though it's billed as a consignment shop, I found a gorgeous Modeca dress that's currently in season for much cheaper than at a typical boutique. I was settling because of the price) at another bridal store in town. I am SO happy I visited because I actually found the perfect dress at a better price at second summer! Wow. I cannot believe how bad my experience was. I know 3 people that got I got their dresses here and had nothing bad to say, which is why I was surprised at how horrible my experience was. They let my sisters, mom and I browse and the then consultant Raquel came to...'help'. I told her what I was looking for - aline, strapless with a finished hem/bottom. She kept pulling out these slinky looking nightgowns that all had straps/sleeves...they were horrific. I actually felt embarrassed for her. When I tried them on, I let her know I had lung surgery a month ago so please be careful with how tight she pulled the dress. She didn't help me in the dresses at all, looked annoyed and my family was totally turned off my her behavior...she looked irritated, like she didn't want to be there. I tried on 5 dresses none of which she fixed the bottom so I could see what it looked like. She threw the veil and belt on the ground like they weren't expensive or important (it was a 225$ veil). I couldn't wait to get out of there and neither could my family. Raquel is working in the wrong field. One dress was pretty...but it was $1600 - and had rips and big holes in the lace train with big yellow stains on the bottom....completely outrageous pricing for a SECOND HAND dress in such crappy condition. Overall, not a good experience. I've been to three other salons that were way way better (pricing and service). I'm glad other people had good experiences but I think their prices are outrageous and worse than regular bridal salons - their customer service is severely lacking. read more

Cara was the consultant and was very kind and patient as I tried on 6 and re-tried the 2 I was deciding between.
