I have gone in twice (so far) and had a great experience both times. Sarah B helped me back in July when my fiancé and I stumbled in after driving by. We didn't have an appointment but Sarah treated me like I did. That was my first time trying dresses on, so I wasn't terribly serious about it. I went in again today and worked with Katelyn who was also just fantastic. Again, we were driving by and I was like, "let's just see what they have." I found a dress online I'm not quite sure about so I guess I wanted to see what else is out there. Probably don't be like me - make an appointment like a good bride. Well of course I tried on this amazing pink dress that I just love, but it's not one that is a re-sale (be warned the entire store is not off-the-rack). So it's more than I can afford and there probably isn't enough time to order it before my April wedding. Yeah, I know I said I can't afford it but I can't get it out of my head. But that's how great this place is. Even though I'm now in doubt, I still give them 5 stars! Because Katelyn rocks, no one makes you feel bad about your body, and I liked sharing the main room with another woman trying on dresses - that was part of the fun! Definitely go. read more

Why go anywhere else? The dress selection is amazing, Audrey is amazing, and the prices, they too, are amazing! I cannot say enough good things about how wonderful Audrey is. She is a dress expert and will give you ideas on how you can make alterations to make the dress more flattering. Out of all of the bridal salons I visited, I would recommend Second Summer Brides x10. read more

This bridal shop was everything that I needed. I have had the most fun planning my wedding, but until now the least fun finding a dress. My size is short and fluffy, while my budget is bare bones at best. The girls listened to all of my wants and needs and all three excitedly went to work to find my perfect dress. Once they found it, they even offered to knock down the price to significantly closer to my range so that it was just within reach. This was very sweet of them and showed that they cared a lot about ME more than the profit of the sale. I am ashamed to say that although I don't have cold feet about marrying the man of my dreams, I did get cold feet about buying that wedding dress right now. However, I did want to take the time to write this review and say that this was absolutely the experience of my dreams. Do yourself a favor and go here first. When my feet warm up closer to my wedding date, I will be back. I may even go back sooner to bake these ladies cookies or something because they are ahhhhhmazing! read more

So this place was the first place I went to find a dress. I decided to reward the #1 Yelp picks for my wedding. SUCH AN AMAZING BRIDAL STORE!! I had to go alone because my mom had to work and my friends couldn't make it. Natalie was so sweet and helped me with everything! I'm a 31 year old bride and almost cried like a baby in all the dresses that Natalie helped me with. She even took some photos to send to my mother so she could help out. They also have a seamstress to do alterations right there (separate but close!) Kira. I found my dream dress, second hand, in my size! Perfect prices! Also, I don't know how many people have done this before but the frustrating thing I found at other stores is they only carry certain sizes to keep cost and damages down. Not here. They have size 0-24. I actually got to try on beautiful dresses without a "modesty panel." Thank you so much Natalie!! read more

I had a great experience with the people here, so they get 5 stars. However, the pricing here is out.rageous. I looked at a dress they were selling for $1900 that I found the exact dress full price for $2000. The one at SS had visible stains. If you're going hoping to find a nice dress with a reasonable discount for being second hand, this is not it. read more

Just wonderful! I found my dress in about an hour! Beautiful dress inventory, and Amber was so extremely sweet & helpful. Soooo thankful for her & to the shop for squeezing me in! It was so much better than the other bridal shops I've been to in other cities where I felt like there was commission & they just wanted me to buy something whether I was happy with it or not. Second Summer has great selection & Some dresses are consigned from brides and many are from bridal stores. My dress had never been worn before. This store really made me feel like they wanted me to choose the best dress for me. Thank you!! read more

*** I bought a dress elsewhere, but I had a wonderful experience at Second Summer Bride and wanted to leave them a review. My appointment at Second Summer Bride was my first time trying on wedding dresses. The staff made it exciting, comfortable, and absolutely wonderful. I worked with Natalie and she was sweet, extremely helpful, and engaged in the process. She pulled a dress for me that ended up being my favorite that day. They have a wide variety of gowns and at great price points. The gowns are also in wonderful condition. They staff was wonderful and professional. I called a few times after the appointment and they continued to be helpful and warm. ********* update. I ended up returning to second summer to buy my (final) wedding dress. I bought a dress elsewhere, and decided I didn't quite feel like a bride. I requested another appointment with Natalie and again enjoyed and appreciated the experience. She listened to me and helped direct our appointment in a way that was productive/helpful but never pushy. One of my favorite parts of the experience was taking my dress to the tailor recommended (Olga Bridal Fashions- best!!) and she exclaimed that she'd never seen a dress like it -- in her 31 years in the business. Thank you Second Summer Bride!!! read more

I cant say enough about Audrey and the shop... I purchased my dress, sash and veil at an amazing price from the shop in November of last year when we began planning the wedding. Things took an unexpected turn here and there with our color scheme and some other details with the event as well. I needed to change my sash and veil to go with the new direction and Audrey was a great help! She suggested I bring my dress in to try on some new options and we could put the items I needed to change on consignment. Consigntment portion was easy as pie. She gave me more than enough new options to go with the changes and we found the perfect new combination to compliment the dress and the new style of our event. I have told every girl I know about second summer, the ones who have taken our advice to visit there before any other places have been so happy. read more

I bought an absolutely beautiful Lazaro wedding dress from Second Summer Bride last week. I came back 3 times to try it on before making a final decision, as unfortunately I went quite a bit over my planned budget... my own fault the girl helping me Kristen warned me when I wanted to try it on that it was over the budget I'd given her. However, as I've been telling myself ever since I got it that it's actually a great deal considering it was only a third of the original price of the gown. And while my current plans are to keep the dress to pass down to a future daughter, Kristen told me the shop does do consignment, so if I decided to sell it later (and it was still in great condition) they would sell it for me in the shop (with half the final selling price going to me and the other half to them). Oh another nice feature is that they let me know about the valentines day promotional in which while writing up the contract you get to draw from a hat to get from $50 to $300 off your gown (I wound up drawing $100). I decided to do that and they even let me draw the day before the promotional so I wouldn't need to come back in the following day. So I love absolutely love the dress that I bought, they did let me come back in to retry on the dress twice after my original appointment (I have to admit I did get the impression I was trying their patience though), the store did have a nifty Austin vibe but did seem a bit rundown, and make sure to look the dresses over well, some were not in the best condition (and you buy them as is). Overall though great experience and I wound up with a wonderful dress! Oh last tip is that there sign is crazy hard to read when driving by, so be careful so you don't miss it! read more

Where do I start other than this place rocks!! From the staff, to the interior and the options I will be recommending this Second Summer to all of my friends. I was with Emilie and she was great. She knew exactly when to tell me what she thought but also held back when I knew I loved, or didn't love something. I even felt comfortable as she helped me laugh off the situations of being stuck in a dress or two, darn hips...who knew a 4 in wedding dress is really a 0!? The selection was really great and they let me try on as many as my heart desired, and that was a lot, enough to break a sweat. Although I did not end up buying my dress here I could not have asked for a better experience here. read more

I had an amazing experience at Second Summer Bride back in February. It was my second bridal shop, and turned out to be my final. I had a firm budget of $1,000, but there were so many dresses to choose from. I didn't feel limited at all. The best part was my stylist, Natalie. She was warm and honest, and made me feel so comfortable during the appointment. She has incredible style and really knows dresses. I tried on MANY dresses over a two hour period and never felt rushed or pressured. Natalie was so patient as my mom and two bridesmaids would proclaim...ahhh now THIS is my favorite one!! ... every time. In the end my favorite was a gorgeous dress from the clearance rack with a price tag of $500. The seamstress that I took it to said it had no visible signs of ever being worn! So either it was never actually worn by another bride, or it was cleaned extremely well :) I would recommend SSB to any bride who wants a great selection and a great deal! Don't forget to ask for Natalie! She is amazing and I'm very thankful for my experience with her. read more

Second Summer Brides is amazing! This was the first place I looked for my wedding dress and I found the perfect one there! I worked with Natalie who was extremely helpful-- I only came in with general notions of what I did/did not want and she helped me figure out what was flattering on my figure as well as best for my wedding. I came in by myself so I was completely at her mercy and very grateful for her assistance! My wedding dress ended up being a 'wild card' that Natalie brought out purely based on her intuition and knowledge of wedding dresses. I absolutely love my dress and the customer service Second Summer afforded me. I never once felt pressured to buy, I left my initial consultation knowing that was the dress I wanted, but I slept on it just to be sure. I came back to the shop several weeks later with my best friend, put on the dress, she said it's awesome, and I bought it! So glad I trusted Yelp to get my wedding dress, I highly recommend this place to any/all brides-to-be! Huge inventory, very cute store, and extremely friendly and helpful consultants. read more

What a wonderful little bridal shop! I walked in knowing NOTHING about wedding dresses, never having stepped in a wedding dress in my life. I explained that I didn't know what I want, and my style. Natalie proceeded to help me pick out a few styles that she thought I would like, and she was spot on! Very great customer service, we had a great chat while trying on one dress after another. In the end, I might not end up buying my dress from here, but I was very pleased with the whole experience and wanted to say THANKS! read more

Second Summer Bride was my third and final wedding dress shop, as I found my dream dress here! I came in with an idea of what I wanted, and Natalie didn't try to sway me in another direction. She let me have free reign over the store to pick out dresses that I liked, and didn't pressure me in any way. And the prices. The prices are amazing. I purchased a $2500 Robert Bullock dress for $700! I can't believe the deal I got. They make sure all the dresses are cleaned before putting them up for sale, but my dress had a small spot on the train that had been missed. They sent it out to be cleaned again at no charge, and I got in back in about a month. Thank you Natalie, and thank you Second Summer Bride! I cannot wait to wear my beautiful dress! read more

Mary Kate went above and beyond! She helped me narrow down what I was looking for. I highly recommend working with her. She was both professional and kind. I am absolutely in love with the dress I got that was originally 4K that I got for $1500. read more

This was my third visit to a bridal salon and it couldn't have better! Sara was so sweet and patient, and she answered so many of my questions. The dressing rooms are large and so is the area for your guests to sit when you step out to showcase your dress. I came here hoping I'd get lucky and I did. I tried on six dresses and ended up saying yes to the first dress I tried on! I absolutely recommend Sara for how attentive and kind she was during my whole visit. read more

The shop is small and just what I needed. great service even when I walked in on Saturday without an appointment. Very Austin! It's kind of a strange shopping center but dont let it sully your experience! They staff was great! read more

I had the best experience at Second Summer Bride. They were very kind, asked all the right questions, and helped me get a good dress at a great price! Katelyn was definitely the best consultant that I've come across. She takes into account your wedding as a whole and uses her knowledge as a wedding planner to help you find the right dress! Also, the shop and dressing rooms were quite spacious and comfortable, so that a plus too! read more

I realized pretty early on in my dress search that my MAX budget ($1500) was everyone else's LOW starting budget. So I figured I'd be buying my dress either on consignment or at David's Bridal. Our appointment at Second Summer was AMAZING! We had Sara as our stylist and she was so sweet, accommodating and fun. We really had a great experience with her, and the whole store in general. They have an AMAZING selection, and dresses are sorted by size. They had so many dresses in my size that all looked great and within my budget. Although I didn't end up getting my dress here, I would recommend Second Summer to ANY bride! This place was awesome and so unique. Good for groups (no more than 6) - they have designated areas and huge fitting rooms. Quaint and comfortable atmosphere. Went with my grandma, grandpa and mom. Great experience, thank you Sara!!! read more

Sarah was amazing! I loved my experience at this bridal shop and I have nothing but good things to share. Sarah was so personable and really took the time to get to know me as a customer. She put me in dresses that I would have never picked for myself and I took something I loved from each dress! This was my first bridal shop experience so I didn't know what to expect. She gave me a couple of minutes to go look at dresses and she also gave my bridesmaids an opportunity to go pick dresses that they thoughg would look good on me! Overall amazing experience and I will never forget just how special Sarah made me feel! read more

I received a call today that their computer system was down, but they confirmed that my consigned items sold.

Just had my first experience trying on dresses at Second Summer. Elyse went above and beyond to help me try on about 8 dresses. I wasn't able to pick today but with her help I was able to narrow it down to two dress styles. I will be making a follow up appointment with my MOH and in laws. Thank you Elyse! read more

Best experience ever. I found at least 10 dresses that would have worked well. I came back a few days later and found my dream dress! I continue to get so many compliments on the dress I chose. The process was simple, the staff is amazing, I will continue to recommend this shop to everyone. I want to give a shout out to their on-site independent alterations girl Kira. She was a miracle worker. My dress was originally a strapless sweetheart neckline, she built up the top with custom beading to match the bottom of the dress. No one could tell that's not how the dress was originally designed. Get your dress here! read more

I just had a great experience and found a dress that is better than I could have ever imagined. First off, this store is great. They let you walk around the store and choose up to 6 dresses that you would like to try on at a time. It's also organized by size which I love. It prevents you from getting stuck into the 'ideal' wedding dress and forces you to look at other styles that you would have never thought of. Both Audrey and Natalie were very sweet and thoughtful. Best yet I was able to afford a dress that I normally would never have been able too because it was consigned from a designer boutique in Houston. I had a very pleasant experience at this store. I was in and out with a wedding dress of my dreams in 40 minutes. I can't say enough great things about my experience. This was my 3rd bridal boutique and I wish I had saved myself time and gone here first. Thanks Second Summer Bride! Super excited about my unique and beautiful Alvina Valenta gown! read more

I bought my wedding dress from Second Summer Bride a couple of weeks ago and I can't say enough about the experience I had here. Though it's billed as a consignment shop, I found a gorgeous Modeca dress that's currently in season for much cheaper than at a typical boutique. Audrey was the coolest person and helped make the experience of trying on and assessing dresses easy and fun. They have veils and accessories, too. I highly recommend making an appointment - you'd be surprised the gems you find in there! read more

I went to second summer bride this past week as a last minute trip before buying what I thought was THE dress (it was almost perfect but... I was settling because of the price) at another bridal store in town. I am SO happy I visited because I actually found the perfect dress at a better price at second summer! I didn't ever think I'd ever find what I wanted at such a good price! Wow!!! Audrey (consultant) was so helpful, personable, and easy to work with. I didn't even have an appointment but she dropped everything she was doing and jumped right in. They get new inventory every week from individuals and the big bridal boutiques in town. It's a must visit (at least a couple times) before settling on a dress! Thank you!! read more

Wow. I cannot believe how bad my experience was. I know 3 people that got I got their dresses here and had nothing bad to say, which is why I was surprised at how horrible my experience was. They let my sisters, mom and I browse and the then consultant Raquel came to...'help'. I told her what I was looking for - aline, strapless with a finished hem/bottom. She kept pulling out these slinky looking nightgowns that all had straps/sleeves...they were horrific. I actually felt embarrassed for her. When I tried them on, I let her know I had lung surgery a month ago so please be careful with how tight she pulled the dress. She didn't help me in the dresses at all, looked annoyed and my family was totally turned off my her behavior...she looked irritated, like she didn't want to be there. I tried on 5 dresses none of which she fixed the bottom so I could see what it looked like. She threw the veil and belt on the ground like they weren't expensive or important (it was a 225$ veil). I couldn't wait to get out of there and neither could my family. Raquel is working in the wrong field. One dress was pretty...but it was $1600 - and had rips and big holes in the lace train with big yellow stains on the bottom....completely outrageous pricing for a SECOND HAND dress in such crappy condition. Overall, not a good experience. I've been to three other salons that were way way better (pricing and service). I'm glad other people had good experiences but I think their prices are outrageous and worse than regular bridal salons - their customer service is severely lacking. read more

From my first stop into this store, I knew I really wanted to support Second Summer Bride as a local Austin business. I was not one of those brides who found her dress on the first try, or second, or third. In fact, I made several trips to this store and each and every time I received excellent service! Audrey was my consultant and she helped me find THE dress. I had been looking and looking for a very specific style and on the day I happened to stop in, she said she had the perfect dress for me. She was right! I am so so so happy that I was able to stay within my budge while actually getting to create the dress I wanted. Audrey was incredibly patient, supportive and enthusiastic throughout the entire experience. I really felt as if she were "part of my team." They really helped to encourage me when I began to feel disappointed that I wouldn't find a dress. The boutique is cute quaint and the atmosphere is very peaceful. With a few additions from Kira, their in house seamstress I am getting exactly what I wanted. Thank you to Audrey, Natalie and Kira. I am thrilled I was able to find a dress and support this thriving business! read more

Thank you Second Summer Bride! The associate who helped me could not have been any nicer as I browsed through the large collection of clean, fashionable, and affordable gowns. She even took pictures for me on my phone so I could send them to my mom who lives across the country. I found my dress and was so thrilled to take it home right away. They even gave me an opaque garment bag to cover it in so my fiance won't get any previews before the big day. I would definitely recommend this boutique to any Austin area bride regardless of budget- they were wonderful. read more

I had the best experience at Second Summer Bride. I could not imagine the visit going any better. It was exactly what I wanted and needed from a wedding dress shop. It was so well designed and super clean. Their boutique is a very comfortable place to try dresses on. Kristen helped me at my appt and she was perfect. She was very knowledgable and what i loved most, very calming. She was so easy to talk to through the entire process. Although most of the dresses are samples turns out mine had never been worn before. They have a great selection of all different dress styles and best if all, you get to take it home that day. After searching since almost June for a dress and having been to numerous stores I am SO glad I made an appointment at Second Summer Bride. The space is cute, inviting, and comfortable. They have an excellent selection of beautiful designer gowns at very reasonable prices. What impressed me the most was Audrey. I have never experienced such amazing customer service. She was personable, knew her stuff about the gowns, and gave me great feedback and guidance on a dress that would look good for MY figure. She was very patient and kind and an absolute delight. I am beyond happy with the dress I purchased that came in right at my budget. I will be returning to them for alterations. I do recommend that all Austin brides drop in at least once to see what gems Second Summer Bride might have in store for you. read more

I came here after finding the dress that I thought was "the one" at their sister store, Blush Bridal. We worked with Elise and told her about the other dress but that we wanted to still try on other dresses. At any other store, I'm sure this would have made the appointment a bit awkward but Elise was just AMAZING! First off, she was elated that I found a great dress, and she still did absolutely everything she could to make our experience wonderful. She pulled some beautiful dresses for me to try on and made the appointment so much fun. Second Summer has SO MANY DRESSES. More than any other place we had visited. Even though the majority of the dresses are pre-owned, you would never know. They are all in wonderful condition and they have extremely reasonable price points that can accommodate any bride's budget. The store is laid out beautifully and they have hands down the best setup for where you try on your dress and where you go out to show the crew that came with you. Some of the stores we went to had small viewing areas but at Second Summer you could pretty much bring a baseball team with you and everyone would be comfortable. Elise, thank you so much for being so supportive and positive throughout the entire time we were there. At the end of my appointment I broke down in tears and told my family that the dress I found at Blush Bridal was the one. That's when my sister told me they had already purchased it for me! I am so glad that Elise was able to share in that special moment in my life and just appreciate all of your help. If you are looking for a dress, don't waste your time with any other places. Between Second Summer and Blush Bridal I can't imagine a bride not finding a dress. And make sure to ask for Elise!!!! She is not in the least bit pushy, knows her stuff when it comes to what looks good, and will make you feel like you've known her for years. read more

Prior to going to Second Summer I had been through 2 other dresses which I didn't love. This place saved me and is amazing! The ladies were most helpful. I needed a dress and I needed it fast, my wedding was only 3 months away. I found the most amazing dress and the price was the best part. I couldn't be happier. They have a ton of dresses (starting under $500) to choose from in a range of sizes. They also recommended a seamstress. I really enjoyed Second Summer Bride. They were super nice, have a huge selection, and provided fantastic customer service. My first visit, I worked with Natalie and when I went back, she was out of town, so Tiffany worked with me. They were both very helpful, friendly, and patient. Since I was closer to making my decision my second visit, Tiffany was great at asking me the right questions (at my request) to help me figure out how to decide on a dress (I was having a really hard time). I ended up getting one of the ones she'd pulled for me, which was at an *incredible* price and is gorgeous! Also, the shop is nicely decorated and comfortable, so the whole thing was a lovely experience, with no sales pressure. I would (and have) absolutely recommend to friends! read more

Second Summer Bride was my second of three stops the other day. When we walked in, we weren't greeted for probably ten minutes, I saw several sales associates just walk past us without even a nod. We did show up a little early to our appointment, so we were expecting to have to wait. Once our associate came to help us..she was nice enough, but I felt very rushed throughout the appointment. If I even hesitated for a second, she would ask if I even wanted to go show my mom and mother-in-law. I get it, if I hesitate, it's not THE dress...but I would like to at least have a second opinion. I know I tried on at least two that they didn't even get to see because I was rushed along into another gown. The whole appointment was probably 30 minutes long. Unfortunately, I would not recommend this place to anyone. read more

I'm really glad this place exists b/c I wanted to get a pretty belt for my wedding dress to add a little sparkle but usually are very unaffordable. Luckily, they had a belt in the style I was looking for which was being sold for a very reasonable price. I was thrilled to find one on my first time visiting and I also got a cute veil for only $50. However most of their veils are sold for $100+. I'm not sure if I recommend their dresses if you're looking to save big bucks b/c even though they're secondhand, it's still pretty pricey. read more
