Cocktail mixers bottled in glass, made with real sugar and quality juice catch your eye. An array of sauces, pasta, teas, dairy, dressings and fresh desserts to choose from. I left with some arugula and a personal key lime pie. The key lime was so fresh and absolutely delicious. Prices were to be expected, service was decent and plenty of parking out front. Now that we're living in The Catskills, my quest to find that similar market prototype I grew to love in Westchester, continues. I had forgotten hubs and I came here before during one of our bi-annual trips to The Catskills. Recently though, when I searched for produce markets near work in Highland, Wallkill View in New Paltz popped up within a short driving distance. As you drive past all of New Paltz bustling shops and restaurants on Main St, you'll soon approach a sleepy farmland area overlooking Mohonk Preserve in about 5 or so minutes. I've been hard-pressed to find a market that tops my favorite one in Westchester and checks all the boxes. Wallkill View grows and sells a nice mix of produce the area has to offer. And when veggies and fruit aren't grown on-site or in season, they're sourced from elsewhere. Unlike other farm markets that operate only Sat+Sun, Wallkill V. is open everyday. Well...almost. These folks shut down for Christmas and throughout the winter- reopening in March. Prices are about $1 more than what I paid down in White Plains- but hey... I get it. Service is great though.

I popped in one winter lunch break and was hypnotized by the promise of that cocoa comfort I love. Ridge C. isn't just another cozy café. They have an entire wall lined with spices and loose-leaf teas in clear, labeled Mason jars. It's like a tea lover's dream. I was in my element. But let's talk hot chocolate. The first time? Disappointing. Bland. Still, I gave it another shot. This time requesting they go heavy on the chocolate. Nope. My 'heavy on the chocolate' request slipped into thin air, because round two was just as bland. Tip: Parking on Main Street is a nightmare and the meter maid's out here like it's a sport. Save yourself and look for a side street instead.

It's is nestled in this small little one room house. Everyone working here was so kind and friendly and took the time to give me a few whiffs. I ended up brewing a mix of blood orange and two types of mint as a cup of tea to go, and even took a small bag of loose leaf home with me. The brew he concocted was so flavorful and the right mix of orange and mint. Perfect for warming me up for another walk on a very cold day. The brewing took a few minutes so I was able to grab a seat, smell a few more teas, and await my hot tea to go. A few things to know! There was only one or two seats, so this is not a cafe to sit and relax, definitely only a grab and go. It is right off of the main street so not hard to find at all. If you are a fellow tea lover, you'll be keen on this great little spot.

I can safely say that we have sampled countless vegan and vegan-option places but NONE compare to Little Loaf! From the moment you walk in, you're greeted with the kindest, warmest, people who make you feel instantly welcomed! The space is incredibly inviting and full of positive and supportive energy--it's the kind of place you instantly want to come back to. And we have - over and over again! From Colleen, the chef and co-owner who couldn't be more lovely, talented and bighearted, to Gabriella (whom I believe is the kitchen manager) and who is above and beyond delightful and gracious- to Ryan, the co- owner who brings such warmth and kindness to this terrific place that you can understand why it attracts likeminded people, to Inka who always checks us out at he counter with a warmth and a smile! And the pastries... WOW!! They are hands down the best vegan pastries we've ever had! Every single one is fresh, beautifully made, and absolutely delicious. We also tried several of the sandwiches, and everything has been outstanding. It's obvious that everything is made and filled with love, care, and exceptional attention to quality. Whether you're vegan or not, this bakery is a true gem. Amazing food, truly wonderful people, and an atmosphere that makes you feel right at home. We can't wait to come back and try even more. This place has earned customers for life. If I could give this place more than 5 stars I would! Highly, highly recommended!
