Arepa
Harrison T.

Stopped by for lunch today, service was decent albeit a little slow since it is Mother's day and they were quite busy with a lot of families showing up. I ordered the arepa and it was okay. It was a bit more crunchier than I would have liked so it was a bit harder to cut through with my knife but the filling was good. There was plenty of guacamole on top and plenty of cheese and meat as well. My friend got the botana plate and it was huge with various items like a quesadilla, refried beans, meat, and guacamole. The restaurant feels like an old-school diner with the counter towards one side of the restaurant and it was overall lively with servers walking around checking on tables and they even had mother's day balloons up in the air. It's an okay spot to drop by if you want some Colombian food, but I would look elsewhere in the area.

At first the menu is a bit overwhelming for brunch but then you realize there are a few staples they just made into various combinations. Started with a beef empanada, which was delightful. Flavoring great and the empanada texture wonderful. Seba seba breakfast #5 was pretty good: rice and beans with a fried egg that we mixed into it and an arepa with cheese. This last part wasn't my favorite- a bit on the charred side. The tostones were okay, the actual tostone itself was nice and the beef was good but the pork skin and guac weren't my favorite. The prices were reasonable for the amount of breakfast food but the dinner menu seemed a bit pricy.

This was one of my go to spot when I lived in the neighborhood. And since I moved I still love to come here everytime I go to Queens. The food is traditional colombian and is so good. The chorizo and chicharon was life when I was full on Keto. Now i come to pick up coffee and some bake goods for my kids.. they love their bread and empanadas. We always grab a few to take back home. I love la Bandeja Paisa pequeña and order it every areas. Come here to eat. I also recommend the arepas. so yummy.. the staff is great also. Definately a place to stop by.

Great bakery! They have a couple of locations in queens. I liked their food except for them not listening when I asked for well done chorizo.

I am so happy I decided to stop in this place. The food was terrific! I ordered one of the two daily specials - beef and yellow potato soup. Came with side of rice, salad and corn cake. I also ordered a small side of beans. Hands down: the best $17 I've spent all week! The service was excellent, all very sweet girls. Located on the corner of 80th Street and 37th Avenue. And just look at the pictures! The flowers outside lining the outdoor dining! So cute. If you're in Jackson Heights, stop here. Full bakery as well. You won't be disappointed.

Takeout review during phase 2 of COVID opening: they have a few tables to sit outside. You order inside as it is self serve. Got a couple of coffees, a pan de yuca (3/5) and a tres leches (4/5). I loooove pan de yuca and used to eat them all the time when I lived in Ecuador so eating this is nostalgic for me, but the one from Seba seba did not taste very fresh. I bet warmed up it would have been much better. Their tres leches is very good, plenty of beautifully soaked cake in condensed milk, and the coffee is quite good as well.

I stumbled upon Seba-Seba while walking down Roosevelt Ave one morning. Little did I know, I had found the best Colombian breakfast spot around (and there are plenty of them in the area). There a few different breakfast platters to choose from, each around $10. The portions are generous and very filling. Very good arepas. Aside from the platters, there are also bakery items sold here. The inside is relatively spacious but due to COVID-19 seating was limited to three or four tables on the sidewalk that are usually occupied.

The busy traffic of customers but doesn't promote cleanliness & toilet hygiene.

The staff is very racist and it's quite busy in here. The bathroom doesn't believe in having soap, paper towels and toilet paper for the customers. When informed of the lack of these essentials the staff stated oh everything there.

Way, way, way off the tourist beat - 14 stops away from Times Square on the 7, to be exact - deep in the heart of Queens is this sunnyside-up Colombian coffee shop. Yep, Colombian. Get off at the Jackson Heights station and walk about three blocks, and you're here. It's a friendly place abuzz with locals who seem to know to order off the menu otherwise given to gringos like me. I was with my friend Carlos who was intent on getting his favorite dish, the $7.50 Huevos Rancheros, which came with two fried eggs and very fresh-tasting guacamole (see my photo). His was good, mine was a bit meh...the drawback of being ignorant in a foreign land. OK, it's Queens, but you know what I mean. I ordered the $8.25 Desayuno Seba Seba #1, which consisted of a grilled breakfast steak, a small Spanish-style omelette, rice and beans, and a flatbread with cheese called almojabana (see my photo). The steak was pretty dry and needed a heavy dousing of hot sauce to wake it up, the eggs suffered somewhat from the same fate, and the almojabana was not quite as tasty as it looked despite the little granules of white cheese spooned on top. The best part was the rice and beans, which had a nice, day-after flavor to them. Others were having prawns, fajita-looking meats, and all sorts of savory goodies. Lots of mugs of hot chocolate abound since it was a cold, crispy day. Had I known to order off the menu in Spanish, I would have taken a crash Berlitz course. Carlos swears by the place. I'm on the fence. However, this stretch of 37th Avenue looked like a UN general assembly of ethnic eateries, so another ambitious trip out here wouldn't be out of the question, compadre. FOOD - 3 stars...passable menu fare...I surmise that the key to success is to order off the menu AMBIANCE - 3.5 stars...a sunny-bright diner and very clean SERVICE - 3.5 stars...fast, for sure...maybe crack a smile? TOTAL - 3 stars...it's a long way to Jackson Heights, so bring your overnight bag and maybe your passport

If you come here for anything get a bunelo it's heavenly.

From my wife, who has had terrible experience there lately. No vuelvo a seba seba en la 80st con 37th ave en Jackson Heights! Me meto en argumentos pendejos por qué no saben tratar a la gente! Ya son tres veces. No Mas! I won't go back to Seba Seba. I get into dumb arguments because they don't know how to treat people! It's been three times. No more!

The crispy fried pork skin that at least is acceptable witch the arepa that's not worth a penny

As stated before, I finally came back to try the savory foods from Tea Cup Cafe!…read more Starting off, my fiancé ordered the Crispy Fish. The sauce that was served was absolutely delicious with the signature tanginess and sweetness of Thai food. The hot pot that I ordered was also enjoyed to the fullest! The food here was super good but also I love liver so I was glad they had a hot pot option that included that! After a delicious meal, we finished off with the mango bingsu which also was a huge hit! The bingsu was super fluffy and light! This meal was definitely worth it and didn't leave me feeling super heavy. The service was also great even though they were always full house with some parties waiting and only one person serving. I will be back next time to try their Thai barbecue which I saw people having and I could stop looking at! On top of all this, the server or manager even gave me a free Melona ice cream which I paired with the bingsoo after he saw that I was pregnant which I thought was super sweet. I don't live too far from here so I also want to add that even though I have not added a review, I always go to this restaurant to grab a coconut Thai milk tea to go (I am not even a huge Thai tea fan)! For some reason, I love the coconut thai tea from here and always find myself craving it.

Service is either a bit slow, they were backed up or they don't work on your app orders until you arrive and ask for it. Still, not exactly egregious and I'm trying to be understanding, though how they get backed up with 5 workers behind the counter is a little confusing. Still, the service is always friendly and the shop is cute so it's a good reminder to slow down and take it all in. Ambience is fine. Dark walls but well lit. Batches of seats up front and in the back separated by the service counter. Lots of Knick knacks for sale. They've got some pastries and sandwiches but I've never sampled them so I don't have much to add. I usually get some kind of Americano and the coffee flavors really come thru without excess bitterness. I'll also note, they've fixed their cups. Early on, their coffee cups to go used to leak but that's been rectified at least for the past few months. Definitely a good choice if you're looking for a proper brew.
