I would not recommend renting from Seattle Vacation Home under any circumstances. We booked a home called The Autobahn through Expedia for our family, based on its layout, features, and photos. Just before our trip, the property management company told us the home was suddenly unavailable due to "maintenance issues" and moved us to a different house without our consent. That's where the trouble started. The replacement property was dirty, unsafe, and misrepresented. There were stained carpets, a smelly basement, peeling deck boards, filthy bathtubs, and no AC during a heat wave in Seattle. Many rooms had no way to ventilate safely -- windows were sealed shut or lacked screens. Worse: after visiting the original property we booked, we discovered it hadn't been maintained or prepared for guests in months. It was never going to be available. The "maintenance issue" excuse was a complete fabrication. This was a bait-and-switch, plain and simple. When I tried to address the concerns, the owner was dismissive and condescending, suggesting that we should have "ignored the lower two floors" of the home (which were filthy). He took no responsibility for the condition of the property or the misleading communication. We've documented everything with photos, a timeline, and communication logs, which have been shared with Expedia and will be escalated further if needed. This company may appear professional online, but our experience was the opposite. If you're traveling with your family or expecting a quality rental that matches the listing, look elsewhere. read more

We had a great stay in one of the apartments in Madison Valley for three days, our first experience in the Seattle area. Both the location and process of booking went super smoothly. Apartment was very roomy and clean and quiet. The beds were super comfortable. Everything worked as to be expected. Communication and description were also great which I really count on and especially being a first timer using Seattle vacation home and being in the area. We have our go to when visiting, so looking forward to the next one! read more

This is a complex review for a situation that ultimately worked out, but in spite of the company, not because of them. 48 hours before our arrival, we reached out to the company after struggling to see property details. We realized the property didn't exist. Seattle Vacation Homes was slow to acknowledge that the property "is no longer in their portfolio." To emphasize - they did not proactively communicate this, we had to pull that information out of them. They did offer us an alternative, albeit smaller. We again had to pull really hard for them to offer us fair compensation for their error and the smaller property, but ultimately the did meet our requests. The property itself was overall good, with one exception. One of the bedframes was broken when we arrived. We alerted the company and they said they would send maintenance that day or the next day, but maintenance never showed and the bed frame remained broken the entire time. We never heard a follow up from them about why maintenance never showed. So, if your property exists and you have no issues, this is a pleasant stay. But if something goes wrong, expect Seattle Vacation Homes to be very challenging to work with. read more

Was threatened by homeowners Andy and Lynne to be thrown out on the streets at any hour of the night by "security patrol" for a noise complaint at 9:37pm on a Friday night, and was told we COULD NOT LEAVE THE HOME, WE HAD TO STAY INSIDE. (See photo) Lmao. Nice try. I hope y'all pay back all the people you've committed fraud against. I read every review and concern from actual tenants and have concluded: THEY ARE STEALING THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS FROM ANYONE THAT IS NAÏVE TO THEIR STRATEGY. Book, collect, have a question need to reschedule? GHOST. NO REFUNDS NO WARNINGS!!! Oopsie. I had 20 people staying in a house that accommodated 23, and were expecting no noise after 9pm hahahahahah. Just 20 silent folks not expecting to celebrate being together or have a gathering of any kind at a house with all this space.....just one giant silent family of 20 playing the exciting tattered board games! NOTE: The house's foundation was observed by 3 DIFFERENT PROFESSIONAL ENGINEERS (all of which were guests and expressed concern. They took the time to write in the guest book that this house has a difference of 1.33 feet from each end of the house and concluded that the house's foundation is sinking and they felt unsafe sleeping there. (See attached photo from their "house guest book" full of dazzling concerns of the house smelling of gas, mold, and pests) Shame on you Andy and Lynne. I hope you find that when you don't care for your properties, your tenants, and treat people with respect, you will never have a successful business to be proud of. The house was dirty and poorly kept. Dishes were dirty but put away. The backyard is overgrown. The fridge water filter was expired. A closet door was broken and fell and hit my Mom (thankfully without injury). Most importantly the house reeked of gas upon check in. Near non-existent responses from the hosts (see screenshots). Their solution was to get us some fans but still otherwise not respond to calls. We thought the leak was from a stove knob being left on so we didn't have it checked out the same day, however, in the morning the smell returned and a tech eventually found a large stove leak. The owners still would not answer other questions or calls about the filthy conditions etc. We tried to reach them all night to find a better solution than staying in the gas filled home with our baby but they just would not answer. Their maintenance team shows up unannounced and wearing a tshirt sleeve as a mask (we'd hoped there would be ZERO outside traffic in the home given COVID and the presence of our baby and elderly mother). You should be able to reach your hosts easily and this has been impossible. You expect a certain quality of product but overall it's been disappointing. We understand that some things fall apart or some things fall through the cracks and if they owners were more responsive, or at least ONCE apologetic (zero apologies so far) then we're usually lenient with miscues. However, they have been unresponsive and unapologetic and they have numerous complaints against them on the BBB recently for not refunding rentals for others during COVID travel restrictions etc. It demonstrated they're just out to make money and the client is purely a source of income and NOT a guest or a even a customer. I WISH I had read these reviews before booking a stay in Seattle at the "willow house" These hosts literally told me they were going to cancel my confirmed check in and have us thrown out of the house as "Trespassers". She did this over me asking for a refund, because the amenities promised in the house didn't work. Stayed over a month and loved every minute of it! It's an amazing house for a large family. My husband, five kids and I stayed from Thanksgiving until the end of December. The house temperature stayed very comfortable and the house has huge, beautiful windows. The kitchen was large and very comfortable even with many cooks in the kitchen. We rented one of their properties on a 9 month lease, and it was most definitely NOT a pleasure to rent with Seattle Vacation Homes and to work with Andy. They were negligent to both their property and to their tenants. Dirty dishes were put away into cabinets, and the dishwasher was absolutely disgusting. Both the dishwasher and garbage disposal was full of broken glass. We tried contacting Andy about the broken garbage disposal/clogged sink, along with a couple other basic requests, and after almost 2 months and 5+ emails, he finally found the time of day to write back to us and address the issue. Brushed us off on our concerns with the utilities billing as well, and had the nerve to blame us for the issue at the end of our lease. Couldn't bother to contact us about the security deposit either. We had to reach out several times past the legal deadline before getting excuses for the tardiness. Glad to be done with them. Didn't get a chance to stay... booked, and then attempted to reschedule (over 6 months in advance); host went ghost- and then would not negotiate a refund. When I attempted to rebook the 2 days we had scheduled, but the terms for booking had been changed to a min of 30 days. (We booked thru Airbnb). Airbnb attempted to reach out to the host, only to send me this response: "I've tried to contact your host twice to mediate a refund regarding your reservation. I've tried the best I could to mediate a refund with your host, but she is inflexible, and she's not willing to provide a partial or full refund. She wants to uphold her cancellation policy." As mentioned in other reviews, the lack of correspondence and professionalism is unbelievable. Take notice that Airbnb rep states the host is inflexible... If you have money to burn - this is the place for you! If you work hard for your money and don't want to be taken advantage of- I would RUN. read more

We loved the "Boston" apartment we rented through Airbnb. There was plentiful parking on the street since we drove a LARGE SUV that wouldn't fit in the garage because of overhead clearance. We always parked within 1 bock. The apartment was super clean, quiet, and we would absolutely stay here again! Getting in/out of the place was so easy because of the pre-programmed number keypad locks. Love that feature! The beds were comfy and the snacks, hand written note, and wine left for us by our host made our day! WiFi was easy to connect to and fast! The photos on Airbnb are completely accurate and we were so happy with our choice! We had a slight AC issue and Lynne sent someone out immediately to change the thermostat so the heat would work in the master bedroom. Their service is great! Highly recommended! read more

We stayed at the Bravo House! And like many other reviewers, I can't say enough about the warm and kind hospitality of the owners Lynne and Andy. They are wonderful couple of people. I found their tour guide of Seattle absolutely amazing. They offer their own tour guide as a complimentary gift to visitors. I can't say enough about the beauty of the place. I took photos immediately to remember our trip! And Seattle is a wonderful city to visit with lots to do in the area! I suppose readers will be interested in photos ...so here are a few. This is a perfect place to stay. It is close to downtown and there is everything to do here! The city reminds me a bit like San Francisco and visiting the surrounding islands is also a treat. The Canadian boarder is also very close. Lynne and Andy answer all questions a person may have about Seattle, and answer requests from visitors with honest helpfulness. I can't say enough about their sincere altruism. I miss Seattle already. I wholeheartly and highly recommend staying at their properties. read more

Seattle Vacation homes have been very unpleasant to work with. I intend to come to Seattle to file against them in court for fraud and theft, I'll update you all. I am a travel professional, I called multiple days and they NEVER once answer phone on multiple occasions still no answer however when I messaged through airbnb then Lynn responded advising she could only pay a commission to me if I booked outside of airbnb because airbnb fees are high for them. I went to their site filled out multiple communication forms as instructed and left messages for inquiry for my clients. She replies for me to communicate through text with an indicated phone number ( still never answering or returning any of my calls) she would text ever so often communicating availability, rate flexibility, occupancy etc until she received my clients money then communication was at a stand still, nearly non existent. They are good for ghosting people. She advised either I could collect payment or allow them to do so on my behalf from my clients preferred card, had I known they weren't a trust worthy company I would have covered myself by processing my clients payment on my end then paying them out for the rental, now after all my hard work and lining their pockets she's stolen my commission and refuses to respond to any voicemails, text or email. Beware of a company that has acceptable forms of payments as money apps through cash app, zelle, Apple Pay they do this so you can't dispute. My clients were a group of high school girls sports team only in town for a competition she spoke of this advising she had other renters in area also in town for same event. Cheap, unprofessional, and lazy. Look no further than their Better Business Bureau page. Maybe fine for a short AirBnB stay, but do NOT rent from them. Near impossible to get ahold of and refused to take action on basic requests (e.g. requesting a larger trash can), on top of an incompetent cleaning service. One of them was pressure washing the front entrance and ended up flooding the front entrance with muddy water. Offered to pick up certain things from the property's time as an AirBnB and only bothered to take a few things. Took well over 21 days to return the security deposit, and only bothered to make up an excuse for the lengthy delay after I'd inquired. Andy is rude and entitled. Glad to see the last of him and this shoddy business. read more

My daughter and I just finished a visit in one of SVH's Madison Valley locations and it could not have been better! The townhome we stayed in (called "The Gallery," I think), is perfect for families. The living area is large and brightly lit, and the sleeping areas are each separated by a floor such that those awake don't have to worry about disturbing those asleep. The bed we slept in was unusually comfortable for a rental and the furnishings were attractive and welcoming, while leaving plenty of space for us to spread out our stuff and feel at home. Best of all, Lynne and Andy were incredibly attentive and thoughtful throughout our stay. We felt welcomed and extremely cared for and cannot wait to stay with SVH again! read more

Andy does not respond in a timely fashion and takes a long time to get back to you. During my long-term stay at one of their apartments, many of the issues (including upsizing trash bins, broken sink disposal, and clogged dishwashers) took months to resolve. During the meantime, I had no choice but to live with broken appliances. At the beginning of the lease, the internet at the house was non-functional. This was not what was stated in the lease terms, and we had to set up our own internet service. If we only had a short stay, then we would have been unable to connect to the internet to work even though we were promised internet as part of the utilities package. Furthermore, at the end of the lease, Andy took far longer than the legal limit to return our security deposit. Not only did he fail to communicate any delays to us until we sent an email, he attempted to make excuses and blame us for why the deposit was taking so long to be returned. Overall a bad experience to rent from, especially since things take so long to get a response about. read more

If you are considering renting 1921 9th Ave W in Seattle from them DONT. We were in the Seattle area for our daughter's destination wedding in Olympic National Park and thought we had found this lovely home to spend additional days with our 7 children after the wedding. After spending over $2000 for the rental, we had toilet water dripping on our heads the first night there. Maintenance came the next day and "caulked the toilet", well at 9pm the following night, the dripping began again. I have pictures and videos of the problem yet I have been told that this is an entirely new issue that has never been a problem. The pictures of the ceiling tell an entirely different story. It is a recurring problem and the bathroom floor boards are probably getting mold and are being compromised. I guess we were lucky to only have toilet water dripping on our heads and not an entire toilet falling through warped floor boards. We stayed at "The Depot" Read the fine print: Host will tack on unexplained adjustments to pad the advertised daily rate on this nonrefundable rental. A rate of $398 (+90) one day then $336 (+84) another then $336 (+74) on down the line all week for a total of $332 extra dollars that were not explained or justified even after I asked. In addition to the standard cleaning fee and taxes, they also charge you a credit card fee ($100). Be ready for cardio: LOTS!!!! of stairs and a tight single car garage at the end of a narrow alleyway make accessing this property only for the physically fit. Instructions for arrival did not explain that while GPS would lead you to the street address, the home was actually about seven steep flights of concrete stairs from street level and the garage access several blocks away and down a narrow alley. I never would have found the front door or garage had I not traipsed up all those steps because there is no driveway from the street. You must drive around the block and down a lane to locate the single car garage--again, it is down a narrow alley and buts right up against the trash bin fence and if you are lucky, there will be an open parking space adjacent to help you maneuver into it. We were fortunate to arrive just before dark and with a sense of humor, but I was immediately frustrated with the lack of transparency in the listing. I wouldn't advise bringing elderly parents here or physically challenged guests or anyone with mobility issues because of the stairs both in the property and leading up to it. You must traverse a stairway to access anything--up from garage to kitchen or down from garage to front door (if you lived here, you would travel down two flights to answer front door from kitchen). Up from kitchen to MBR down from kitchen to LR. Down from front door to bedroom 2, down from there to bedroom 3. I believe the unit is at least five stories--all quietly mentioned in the listing but just be warned, it is wonky. Good for little kids you want to tire out, but otherwise, we hated all the stairs and lugging bags and groceries. . . just be ready. The kitchen was nicely stocked and clean but on the whole the house is no frills. Everything seems like it was from Ikea or Walmart and the pillows are very old, either totally flat or totally lumpy. I had to use a towel on the ironing board because it looked like it came from the Goodwill, and the cover kept sliding off. The living room has two OK sofas and a sitting chair but a tiny particle board coffee table and no other side tables to set down a book or glass. The patio furniture off the master bedroom has seen better days. The window coverings in the bedrooms do not block the light or heat, and they face east, so you will wake up at 5AM every morning. I know this is a terrible whiny review, but it is all true. Overall, this was the most disappointing vacation rental I have ever booked. In closing, I will say the soaking bathtub in the master bedroom was its saving grace. read more

"The Arboretum" was just an unreal experience. Andy and Lynne went ABOVE and BEYOND the call to make sure we had a wonderful time. They left us a hand-written note + goody bag for welcoming us to Seattle. They also included ALL of our guest's names on it. Who does that anymore!?!? I was completely blown away. We had 18 individuals come in for my wedding at the UW Arboretum's Wisteria Hall...and it allowed all of us to walk...yes walk to the Arboretum in less than 10 minutes. This location + hospitality really put me at ease, knowing I could accommodate a large group from out of town with a wide range of expectations. (4) King Bedrooms, (1) room with two queens, (1) bunk bed room, and (1) room with two queen-bunk beds...never seen that before. How Cool! We stayed in the Queen Anne 6 house, the location and multiple bedrooms and bathrooms was perfect for all our family members. A couple of things...the basement bathroom was not cleaned (toilet) after a female had used it last, grouse and unsanitary. Come to find out they provide NO clean supplies to clean up the mess. They only provide dish soap and broom/vacuum. I texted Lynn to ask where I could find some disinfectant cleaner for kitchen counters and the downstairs bathroom and I was told those items are not provided. The strange part is on the Departure Checklist, they ask you to clean up major messes, spills and accidents, yet their are NO basic disinfecting supplies to clean them up. For such a large house that sleeps 18, their were NO large serving or cooking dishes in the kitchen. However, it was nice to have dish soap, paper towels and coffee filters, but NO basic cling wrap, which would be a nice touch. Also, the refrigerators didn't not keep our items cold, not sure if they are on the verge of going out. Lastly, was sent a text message that we weren't allowed to be outside on the deck past 9pm on a beautiful summer evening, we had 4 ladies outside. I think the noise hours need to be adjusted for the warmer temperatures since their was no AC in the house. read more

We stayed at "The Library" for a 3 days weekend (Memorial Day) and thoroughly enjoyed our stay! There were plenty of beds exactly as described and the house/bathrooms were very clean. Lynne and Andy were very prompt and thorough in all of their communication with us before, during and after our stay! They were also able to graciously accommodate our needs for a later check out time, beyond what is initially stated. Do NOT rent with these people. I planned to rent for the summer, but during the the pandemic my trip got cancelled. Their site states that they follow the policies of the rental sites used to book. The site I used sent an email stating that due to COVID "renters should return the deposit," which included first months rent plus some other fees. Andy REFUSED to refund my deposit and took over $8000 from the other renters and I when we couldn't come due to COVID. He took advantage of people during these times when some of our relatives were even losing jobs. But more importantly, the other renters and I tried to get in contact with Andy for over a MONTH by email/phone and he refused to respond until we used another number. On the phone he was rude and not at all helpful. He even sent an extremely rude email back afterwards. He deletes/hides his bad reviews on Facebook and Google to seem trustworthy. One of the other renters even left an accurate review on Google and he left an angry response for us to see before deleting the review entirely. Please avoid Seattle Vacation Home when renting in Seattle. read more

BUYER BEWARE! They were AWFUL to deal with during Covid-19. We were not legally allowed to travel to Seattle for our rental period. Not only would they not refund our money or offer us a future rental period (we told them we were totally flexible and would take a credit, or even a partial credit, for anytime), but after saying they would try to rebook the site, did not list it and never responded to emails from us or VRBO. VRBO said that this company was one of the worst they dealt with and that they were being totally unreasonable. I would HIGHLY recommend lookign elsewhere -- they basically swindled us out of $8000 unless we want to take them to court. read more

We were in Seattle for a wedding, and were able to have the entire family stay together. The home was wonderful, clean, and well located. Seattle rental cars were way too expensive, so we took the Link light rail from SeaTac to U of Washington (less than mile and a half away), then uber. Family members who drove up from Portland gave us 3 cars, so we were then covered, and allowed us to get around locally. Needed car to get to Macrina bakery on 19 street, which is wonderful (their tray of cinnamon rolls, which can be individually heated by 15 seconds in microwave are terrific). The enormous dining room table allowed 18 family members to dine together -- terrific. read more

Cannot recommend this company. Before booking I contacted Lynn asking how far the property was from a particular address she lied or made it up and said it was 20 min. After I booked and got the property address, I did a google search and it was actually 45 min away, which was farther than I wanted to be. Within 5 min of booking, I requested to cancel, but was not allowed to do so without being hot with a severe penalty. Booking was for $2700 but only was getting a refund of $575. I reached out to Lynn, and she didn't have the courtesy to even respond. I reached out to AirBNB and they were also not helpful. Again, being. a non-profit, we couldn't afford to take the hit in monetary loss, so I reached out to Lynn again requesting her allow me to rebook so we don't lose any money. Surprise...Surprise she was very quick to respond and I rebooked, but only because I was FORCED too. Skip this company. read more

My wife and I stayed in the Philadelphia for our trip to Seattle, the home was clean and well kept. On the first day we arrived, we asked for a fan because we need the white noise to sleep, they had one sent over right away. Other than the fan, they had everything we needed. Home is located close to the city center so getting back and forth was easy. We were here for three days and this made the trip so much better. I will definitely stay here again when we come back and would strongly recommend this to anyone coming to Seattle. read more

The home at 24th Avenue East was our base for a 4-day birthday stay and celebration. From the stylish entry to the spacious master bedroom we were perfectly comfortable and content from the moment we entered. The bright middle level kitchen/dining/sitting area was spotless, spacious and well-equipped (we only made light dinners and breakfasts but could have done full meals.) A well-stocked Safeway is just up Madison within walking distance. Our friends who we traveled with enjoyed the downstairs bedroom and we had the spacious master suite upstairs. Sparsely furnished and uncluttered, the room nevertheless had a very comfortable king size bed and ample closet with plenty of hangers. The bathroom had a spacious tiled shower with plenty of on-demand hot water and large fluffy towels. What made the location perfect for us was the ease of getting downtown on the 11 bus line, or to Seattle center on the 8, both straight shots from stops two blocks from the house. Extensive public transportation combined with the ease of ride-share services make Seattle a very easy city to navigate. Communication with Lynne and Andy was efficient, friendly and helpful. We did not meet them personally but felt that they were available to assist us if we needed more. We're happy to give this vacation home our fullest recommendation. read more

Do not use Seattle Vacation Home to stay in Seattle. While most other AirBNB and VRBO properties have honored flexible change of date stays due to covid, Seattle Vacation Home, aka. Andy and Lynne Morris, have refused to do this and made it incredibly difficult to cancel or recoup any money. They've threatened to be out of business and literally fallen off the face of the earth in terms of communications. We had to move our wedding reception and literally every other property--the hotel venue, the photographer, other AirBNBs and VRBOs--was accommodating in changing the date due to covid. After all, we were not asking for money back--simply changing the date. But Seattle Vacation Home refused to do this--most likely because they are over leveraged and have pretty much bought up any available townhouse in Madison Valley, Seattle over the years. We stayed in their Graceland home near Capitol Hill. This 4 Bed 3.5 Bath Townhome is a great place to stay in Seattle! The 4 bedrooms are spread on 4 separate floors, so it feels like each bedroom has there own floor. The kitchen/living room floor is spacious and can accommodate all the guests staying in the townhome. There is a roof top deck that has amazing views as well. The location is also in the heart of Seattle so it was very easy to get to all of our destinations (Century Link Stadium, University of Washington, Breweries in Ballard, and Pike's Place) In addition, Andy and Lynne were very responsive via text messages throughout our entire stay. They were able to accommodate any request (more towels, late checkout, etc) we had during our stay. I would highly recommend staying here on your trip to Seattle. read more
