Stayed here for 4 nights shortly before Labor Day. Pros -Cute cabin in easy-to-find location -Close to the water -Nice decor and layout Cons -Human and dog hair on the bedsheets, which had clearly not been washed before we arrived. Whomever was doing housekeeping just made up a dirty bed and called it a day. Gross under any circumstances, but inexcusable during a pandemic. -The bathmat was dirty as well. I threw it in the washer/dryer along with several towels because I no longer trusted the cleanliness of the linens and it came out looking brand-new and almost unrecognizable from what it was before. Yikes. -Missing some very basic-level necessities in terms of dining, cooking, and baking. No wine glasses, one lonely mixing bowl, one tiny cookie sheet, everything else is jumbled together in one big drawer with lots of sharp pointy things that no doubt hundreds of hands have touched. -Everything is technically clean but it's very surface-level, lots of dust and crumbs in spots, including the coffee table. Again, it's a pandemic. You couldn't wipe it down before the next guest? -If you're looking for the coffeemaker, you will find it in the hallway closet near the front door. No idea why it was put there but guessing it's because housekeeping can't be bothered to clean it. My husband and I didn't find it until our second night. If you love your morning coffee then you know how annoying this is. NOTE: I am not a clean freak and I hate leaving negative reviews without contacting first. I tried to contact Mysty Mountain Properties before leaving this review of Vista View Chalet but the phone number on the website was disconnected and the backup phone number led me to a voicemail which told me to text them with my problem. I did so, but they never responded back. read more

The LEAST you could do is to notify the customer who is set to arrive in the middle of winter that the power is out and no generator is available. That is the LEAST someone who is in the hospitality business could do to ensure that the guests who have paid a large sum to stay at this dirty old cabin don't freeze to death in the cold. But, we got to the cabin thinking everything was fine, drove family in tow to Leavenworth then to our cabin to find out power is out and has been out. Fine, maybe they didn't know? Fine, then next step should be for a full refund. Because I sure did not pay to camp out with no power near Stevens Pass in the middle of December. But nope, that's too much to ask too. So we drove back home, 3 hours at 9 pm where we had a warm place to stay. Then came back to Stevens pass since we had already booked our lift tickets. Do yourself a favor and don't stay here. We opened the door to find not only no power but the stench of stale old body odor. The management is a joke and apparently customer service is not in the vocabulary. As a business owner and also someone who is in the rental industry these people should just quit before they ruin any other holiday plans for another family. read more

I paid $545 to stay in Leavenworth for 2 nights. Sadly, the cabin was not cleaned when I arrived and the sinks were not draining and the shower was overflowing with dirty water when it wasn't even being used. A plumber came out to try to fix it but couldn't do anything to help. I couldn't even brush my teeth in the morning because the bathroom sink wasn't draining. So far no refund and the last email I got said " we haven't forgotten you!".... then no reply. When I wrote to the manager Louisa I got an automated message saying that they're out of town and won't be checking email. This company is a scam! I found them through air B and B and they said if you book directly through them then you'll get 10% off, that was the first red flag. Shame on this company scamming people. That cabin isn't even livable, and they don't even care. read more

My family and I stayed at the Big Bend cabin right on the Skykomish River and had a great time exploring the yard and relaxing in the hot. The cabin was immaculate upon arrival, and very cozy. The hot tub was a well maintained SOFTUB and very simple, no frills and relaxing. The kitchen was nice, a little bizarre in lay out, but would be great for a big family with the two sinks and prep space. My one complaint about the kitchen was the hodgepodge of utensils, several incomplete, like french presses with out the glass part, casseroles without lids, etc. When the first night hit we noticed all but one of the outside lights did not work and the ceiling fan in master did not work either. This was not a big deal for a rainy May weekend however, late July or August it would be really uncomfortable. River access is rugged but present, the back yard is pretty neat and whimsical but there are a lot of tarps and old trash cans and wood piles off to the side that removes from the otherwise clean aesthetic. Lots of spiders in the cabin in corners, but none of us left with bites or anything, just tried to round them all up when we first got there. I hope the neighbor shares trash cans because it gave a start to see a stranger wandering across the yard by our car and using the trash and recycling, it would have been nice to know. The second night, somebody began pounding on our door at 1:30 am and when I went down to investigate they got in their car and drove off, maybe they had the wrong place, but it gave us all quite a startle because some of the surrounding houses and properties are a little dubious looking. The Netflix on the TV did not work and the ROKU plugged in didn't have a power cord, but we brought our amazon fire stick so we were good to go using the wireless internet. All in all it was a great place and we will likely go again, the take home messages are: bring all your own food items (seasoning, oils, etc) and storage containers (none available), clean up the spiders, bring your own entertainment streaming service, and don't be alarmed by the neighbors. read more

I have been a repeated guest at Mysty Mountain properties for several years at a couple of different properties. I have really enjoyed the homes, the set up, ammenities and service with this company. I was disappointed to see the negative reviews as there are certainly hundreds of guests, like myself, who have been more than happy with their experiences with this company. The company is prompt with responses, booking, email, phone calls, etc. The house is stocked with any essential cooking equipment, utensils, etc in addition to bedding and linens. The houses have always been clean upon arrival. And only once we had a slightly less than "hot" hot tub. Overall, our group has been very happy with these properties in terms of value, quality and service. read more

Our stay at Light in the Woods was awesome! The cabin had all the amenities needed to make our stay comfortable. The fire pit and spa was nice to use in the evenings after long days hiking. The cabin was cozy with movies and netflix available for use along with many board games. We will definitely be booking with Mysty Mountain vacation rentals again in the near future!! read more

We stayed at the Barrel House and loved it! Registration went very smoothly and the directions to the place were easy to follow. The main room looks out over the river. The kitchen was well stocked with dishes, pans and even had lots of spices. There were also books and games. The place was immaculately clean and everything in the cabin worked. We had Wi-Fi, tv, lots of peace and quiet. It was a beautiful location and we will most likely go back again next year. read more

I stayed at Prospector's Bend Cabin, as well as another one last year ( somewhere in Baring?) I can't say enough nice things! The PBC view is awesome, and it is half of what you pay for. it is WAY cheaper than staying in Leavenworth ( which typically asks for a minimum two day stay on weekends), and it is VERY close to the summit while still being close to a larger grocery store. I saw lots of folks fishing on the river, and reeling them in! :) Our primary goal was snowboarding with the fam, so I didn't get around to all the knobs and whistles, but it was warm and clean and the hot tub is a must after a day on the mount! The cabin we stayed at in Baring was on the river, also with a hot tub...it was huge, with a nice LCD TV and cable ( even out that far!). Enough room for a few families too, we will go back soon. I am writing an update since I received an email from the owner of this property, David F.. In his email, he stated that - while our issues were ultimately not their fault, since we did not notify the company during our stay - he would not deny that it was possible some of the items I complained about were overlooked, and he asked that I take another look at my yelp review with that in mind. I don't agree that it is the guest's responsibility to troubleshoot on behalf of the business, but I still appreciated that he took the time to personally respond to my complaints and returned to yelp to look at my review. That's when I read his less than professional (or honest) reply to my review below, accusing me of 'slander' and, once again, blaming the poor experience on the guests rather than the shoddy housekeeping and lack of maintenance. And while David is correct in that there was some cleanup needed (although his claims are very exaggerated) the fact remains that I was charged for several items that we never so much as touched. When I attempted to explain both this and the problems we had had with the cabin, I was told "we are inclined to follow the report given to us by the housekeeper that has been the only cleaner at this property since we started renting it." Apparently, this same housekeeper that does not replace burnt out light bulbs, leaves old food in the refrigerator, does not check broken appliances, etc, gives only completely trustworthy reports. What I will take away from my experiences with Mysty Mountain and David F. is that it is the guest's fault when a property is broken, failing and/or does not meet advertised quality, and that the proper way to deal with professional criticism is an aggressive, dishonest, public denouncement of the validity of the guest's complaints. read more

The company decided they would file a claim against the insurance that we bought and paid for, for the DVD that was broken when we arrived. Great trick. Make the guests pay for everything, even the things they are not liable for. Then, deny all the other issues. You offered to send a housekeeper after I had cleaned up the place. Make the guests do the cleaning, too. Yes, there was a stink in the house when we arrived and yes, we had to air it out. Mysty Mountain Co is not honest. These people are practiced at the games they play and I would warn everyone not to do business with them. I would not go there again based on their shark-like business practices. read more

I was disappointed to read all of the negative reviews - my husband and I were thrilled with our stay last June (2011) at the Gold Sky River Cottage. When we arrived, everything was clean and the views were beautiful. We unpacked our lives (we were staying for a week with our 2 dogs), put all of our food away, and then explored the property a bit. It was a picturesque spot and we couldn't be happier for a nice relaxing week away from the world. There were plates, utensils, pots, pans, etc - enough to make wonderful means while we were there. It was the most relaxing vacation we have ever had and we look back on it fondly (as do the dogs, I'm sure). You should note, this is not a hotel. We were sure to clean up after ourselves while we were there. Before leaving, we did a thorough cleaning to make sure that everything looked as it had when we arrived (washed the towels, wiped down the counters, ran the dishwasher and put the dishes away, cleaned out the fridge, swept the floors, closed the windows, and locked the doors). We treated it like our home, which made it even harder to leave! We will definitely be back again and can't wait! read more

We stayed at Money Creek Lodge. The location was great. We had a scenic view and the house was pretty far off Highway 2. The interior was beautiful and the house is set up for large parties like ours. The jets and temperature of the hot tub were not functioning. The jets randomly worked and we could not get the temperature past 99. A hot tub should be between 102-104. We later realized that the fridge was not keeping our food cold. So we were forced to use our cooler to keep our meats in overnight. After our first night, one of our guests reported to us that she woke up several times in the night being bitten by fleas. We called our property manager to let her know about it and she immediately became defensive. First, she denied that they could be fleas at all. Telling me that they absolutely need a host to survive and that they had just had pest control fumigate the house. Then she suggested that we were the ones that had brought the fleas into the house. She then told me to try to catch one and get a photo of it and then maybe she could do something to help us. We changed the bedding and found a bug to send a photo of. When we called again the property manager said things like "I don't know what to tell you." "This isn't the city. "" Are we really talking about four bugs here? "" It's not like there is a huge infestation where there are fleas in the whole house. " I think that when you are in a hospitality business, you should be accommodating to your renters and nice because you want them to return. Initially, our property manager should have been understanding and apologetic for our guest's inconvenience. Instead she became defensive and pretty much started a fight with us. We sent her photos of our guest's bitten ankles and of a bug and got no reply. I would not stay here again based on the overzealous rules and lack of professionalism. read more

Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this place. The setting is absolutely stunning and the cabin is cute. However, we rented one of their properties in December of last year and arrived to find the cabin not heated (it was 32 degrees outside!). MMP did not comply with several parts of their agreement and has been unresponsive to our calls and emails. It is really very disappointing. We are now trying to recover our money through our credit card company. read more

To preface this review I will say that myself and three guests did have a great time at A Light in The Woods cabin in Baring, WA. We stayed for two nights, there was no cable or wifi and we were okay with that since we were forced to stay off of technology and explore nature. It was clean, rustic, peaceful, and relaxing. During our stay, we were surprised to find a strap with a lock on the hot tub. We looked around for a key, my friend noticed a strap on the cover of the hot tub that was cut and frayed, he mentioned "Looks like someone had trouble with this tub before us." I texted Mysty Mountain Properties and they did respond back with the whereabouts of the key. In the master bedroom hanging on the wall behind the door. I was impressed at the time with their timely response. We enjoyed the hot tub. They even provided us a later checkout of 1pm instead of 11am. So I was a happy glamper. We cleaned up the cabin, I even scrubbed down the cast iron skillet to make sure everything was spotless before we left. Two days later I receive a call at work from Mysty Mountain saying the owner found the broken strap on the hot tub and since we had texted about the key, did we try to get in by breaking it. I explained to her that we had found it already broken, and we had texted to ask for the key (why would we contact them if we broke in). I was fine with them asking. Her condescending response was what really got me. "The owner always checks it between guests and he didn't notice it before. Ok...so someone else must have been passing by the cabin and decided they wanted to bust into the hot tub." I don't f'in know who broke the strap, but don't try to nickel and dime your guests who treated the cabin well and followed all the rules. I should have asked her to have the owner send a picture of the frayed strap so she can see for herself how old the "cut" looked. It was frayed at the ends with wear and tear. I've rented another cabin from them years ago and was happy with their service/properties. Due to poor customer service, I'm going with AirBnB from now on. read more

Although an avid yelp user, I did not read the reviews here before doing a last minute rental with Mysty Mountain Properties. If I had, I might have been more cautious - however ours became a story of both disappointments and pleasant outcomes. In the middle of a holiday weekend, I contacted "Em" (stellar personality) by phone to check availability, and she found space at Baring Bend Lodge. My main prerequisites were a hot tub, on the river and pet friendly (given that my goal was to give my girl a 3 day getaway to just relax.) I will spare all the details of our arrival, but the summary would be that one thing at a time,over the course of the next six hours we discovered the hot tub was not hot (or working), the gas grill was not functional enough to cook on, the wifi was out, and the Direct TV was unavailable. One disappointment after another for us, and a huge headache nightmare for any property manager - especially late on Saturday during a holiday weekend. It was clearly evident that "Louisa" (property manager) wanted nothing more than to make everything right for us - however given the timing and circumstances, her hands were severely tied. My personal philosophy is that a business is not defined by whether or not it has problems or makes mistakes, but rather it's character is revealed by how it handles them when they happen. In this case, Louisa demonstrated impeccable character in how she handled our situation. The next day, we were moved to a wonderful, fully functional property and given a number of special considerations in return for the difficulties and inconvenience wehad dealt with. Typically, you would expect someone as disappointed as we were the first night to swear to never return, however thanks to the professional and empathetic way that Louisa, Em and the owners responded - we would not hesitate to return. I'm wary of reviews where everything "was absolutely perfect" because I'd rather know how a business will handle things for me if something goes wrong. I hope this review gives future clients enough peace of mind to book with them. read more

My family and I had such a great time at Mountain View Cabin! The views were incredible and the home very comfortable. With the water right there, you couldn't ask for a better location during the summer. We did run into a little trouble with the hot tub not being warm when we arrived, however when we called to ask for assistance, expecting to hear back the next day during business hours, we were pleasantly surprised to get a call back right away. The property manager was super helpful in troubleshooting the issues and in just a short time the hot tub was back up and running. We really enjoyed all the gorgeous hikes that were only a short drive away that the girl who booked our reservation recommended to us. I found the staff to be very helpful and responsive. Stayed at Wild Sky Escape on a last minute whim and had an AMAZING time. It had everything we needed, and it was right on the river with a hot tub (BONUS!). Insanely beautiful views from the property itself and the nearby town Index, great hikes in the area, even a couple good restaurants if you don't feel like cooking. At one point we couldn't get the grill working, but after leaving a message on the after hours line we got a call right back and got it fixed. Great customer service. We will be back for sure, and since they are pet friendly, next time I'll definitely bring my dog Wiggles. read more

The Cabin we got was filthy upon arrival. A used soap bar with hair on it was in one of the showers, it had a moldy kitchen sink, the second bathroom toilet overflowed and was backing up into the shower with fecal matter and we were unable to take showers the last day for fear of poo overflow, which ruined the experience for us and our friends who had just been married at Lake Wenatchee and were supposed to be enjoying a peafull stay by the lake, but instead had to deal with extra stress of this and share 1 bathroom in a '2 bathroom cabin.' This 'company' did very little to remdy the situation and made what was supposed to be a great time, a terrible experience. These acommodations were never as advertised and will seek all remedys for a full refund. I will update this review when this issue is resolved. I cannot in good conscience recommend this 'company' to anyone. To avoid this headache, avoid this place at all costs or get ready for small claims court. read more

Definitely not a customer focused business. We were scheduled for 6 adults to stay in Baring Bend Cabin. Due to a death in the family, 4 of us needed to cancel. With our stay being 7 days away, based on stated policy, we were refused any refund which I can understand. However, the two remaining adults arrived expecting to use the cabin that we already paid for only to be informed that it wasn't available because it hadn't been cleaned yet. Still instead of being courteous, we were issued a refund for that night and informed that it would be available for the rest of the time so find a place for the night but come back or forfeit the rest of the rental fee. read more

We stayed near Leavenworth at Vista View Chalet for the weekend. The cabin was perfect for a girls' weekend! The cabin provided everything we needed to cook several lovely meals and the hot tub had a great view of the lake. The trip was the perfect mix of relaxation and adventure. Mysty Mountain made reserving the cabin very easy and they texted back right away when we inquired about a late checkout. I can't wait to stay at some of their other cabins with a bigger group! read more

I enjoyed this cabin but some of the furnishings were badly stained (pet cabin) and the sheets smelled musty. The worst part is that we had no idea that Dixie's River Retreat backed up to Highway 2 which was EXTREMELY NOISY and not very restful. The view was nice and the dog run useful but we were not given access to the address until after booking and if we had known it backed up to 2 we would have chosen another property. It is because of this I'm giving the 2-star rating and this would be the reason we would not choose to book with Mysty Mountain again. We wanted a peaceful getaway and instead we were next to a roaring freeway. read more

I just recently stayed at the Gold Sky River Cottage and wow I have nothing but good things to say about this cabin. We were really just looking for a cheap place to rent so we could go relax by the river for a few days but got so much more! The views were absolutely breathtaking and hearing the river made it so peaceful. We love to hike so we went out during the day and the riverside hot tub was splendid to come back to at night. It is in the perfect area and I couldn't have been happier with my rental. When we first arrived, I couldn't figure out how to get the WiFi to connect. We called the property manager and they came out same day to fix it. That really helped me out as I am taking online classes and had to complete some homework the day of. I would definitely rent with Mysty Mountain again but would have to try out one of their other cabins. read more

We stayed at Wild Sky cabin for 3 nights and it was awesome! We had a great time and so did our dog! We will be back for sure. Nothing more relaxing than sitting in the hot tub and looking out over the river! Cabin was very clean and comfortable. BBQ, full kitchen with a dishwasher, washer and dryer too! Terrible rental experience with this company over New Years. Sent wrong link to the cabin and the accommodations we ended up in were grossly overpriced for this dump. We found mouse droppings in the broken janky kitchen cabinets. The kitchen was also very poorly stocked and so tiny it was not functional for a group. The listing for Ranch Bungelow says it sleeps 6 but had 700 sq feet tops and it was super tight with 4 people. The water also smelled horrible and was discolored so we had to buy several jugs of water. The internet did not work properly. The grounds outside were also very unsafe. Zero lighting with cement blocks in the driveway. The stairs are also extremely slick. The pet fee for this dump was also unreasonably high considering the conditions of this place. Our calls and concerns went unanswered until the Tuesday following the holiday because no one with any authority was actually working. They gave us a nominal discount which did not come close to making us feel like we were not totally scammed by these people. Highly recommend going elsewhere for your cabin rentals. Will never use them again. read more

Just spent an amazing weekend at the Mt. View Cabin in the Stevens Pass selection. Loved that they offer many cabins that are dog friendly and my girl Molly had a blast playing riverside in the snow. Kitchen has all the essentials and even a crockpot (we brought our own). Very impressed with this rental cabin and the company in general. The offer special pricing if want to ski. The cabin is close to great trails and river rafting. Planning on going back this summer and for sure next January for my post holiday getaway. read more

The Mysty Mountain Properties managed my cabin for past 8 years. I have finally decided to end my business relationship due to some of the following reasons. 1. Very questionable accounting practice. The way they do accounting yields more revenue for themselves but finding a way to avoid paying full tax on the extra revenue. 2. Just requested for my year end statement so I can do my tax and they refuse to do it. Shouldn't this be part of any service who makes money off of you? 3. They changed the locks without my permission to my property because one of the guest lost the key and charged me (owner) for the lock change. When I questioned about it, they refunded me. Recently when I asked for the keys to be send to me as I had no keys since they change the locks (I gave them 2 weeks), they would not. They tell me the keys are in the mail but I still don't have them and I am meeting people at the cabin this weekend. Where are my keys???????? 4. They have managed my cabin very poorly. Each time I go up, I had to do a major cleaning as they would not vacuum under the sleeper sofa (very filthy), cob webs everywhere, corner of the rooms were never vacuumed, Left windows unlock and sometime even open. Heats on when no one is there. Do they care????? If you have cabin managed by them, please be careful and watch them carefully. We have twice used Mysty Mountain Properties for family vacations. Prospector's Bend Cabin in 2010 and Riverside Ranch last week. Both were completely as advertised and we were delighted. We cooked a total Thanksgiving dinner at Riverside Ranch and the kitchen had EVERYTHING we needed. The river rock fireplace was great fun. Both houses were spotless. We walked to Der Baring restaurant and had a lunch and breakfast there. We will be back! read more

We stayed at Wild Sky Escape. The cabin was nice. Really liked having a washer and dryer, wifi, and satellite tv. The loft was fine for the kids, but you wouldn't catch me up there. The hot tub was enjoyable. We used the fire pit every night to sit around, talk, eat smores, and enjoy the sound of the whitewater rushing. The view was phenomenal! Snow-capped mountains, blue sky, and the Skykomish River. It was the best of both worlds, pristine nature and modern convenience. read more

We stayed in the Mountain View Cabin for a weekend with four friends. Booking was super easy, even at the last minute. The location was fantastic; right on the river with a view across to Mt. Baring. On getting out of the car I wasn't even in a hurry to get inside, just wanted to sit in one of the chairs in the back yard and soak in the peaceful river and bird song and watch the clouds go by! Such a great retreat from the city! We spent a lot of time just sitting on the deck, and used the well-equipped kitchen to prepare meals, so we really didn't need to go anywhere else, except for a hike on the second day. The trailhead for the easy, family-friendly hike to Barclay Lake is literally three streets down, across Hwy 2 and just a few miles up a forest service road. There are many other hikes, including some more challenging adventures, within a 30 min drive. We made good use of the hot tub and at least one of our party took a dip in the river. Although a backyard campfire sounded inviting, we were so busy relaxing that we never got that far! I had the bed in the loft, which was quite comfortable, and the cabin was clean and well-maintained. With separate upstairs & downstairs bedrooms in addition to the loft, the property would also work well for a family or 2-3 couples. I'd come back next time I am needing some peace & mountain time! read more

My family and I stayed at the Rising Sun Cabin, and while the views outside were beautiful, I would not recommend that anyone stay at this property or rent from this company. From the time we arrived, the cabin was lacking in many respects and the customer service was horrible: * It was advertised as a 2 bedroom that sleeps 7 when it really was a 1 bedroom studio loft with an extra bedroom outside. If a guest staying in this extra bedroom wanted to use the restroom or get a drink of water during the night, they would have to go outside, walk to the entrance to the house, enter a key code in the dark, and walk up 1 or 2 flights of stairs. This was a huge issue to our 5 person family with young children, requiring all of us to sleep in the same cabin, where noises easily projected both up and downstairs and one of the beds was directly under an open staircase. All in all, a difficult layout that severely limits the usability of the property for anyone other than an adult couple, and had I known this at the time of booking, i would not have rented the property. * The water pressure was almost non-existent and the property had an odd, musty smell. * There were no air conditioning nor window screens on any of the windows, and the upstairs got especially hot. * This was the first time I've ever stayed at a vacation rental that did not have a single wine bottle opener, although when looking for it in the cupboards, we did find a large bong and a large chemistry beaker full of wine corks. * The property was very remote, although it was in an enclave secured by multiple video surveillance cameras. Many of the surrounding houses are in suspicious states of disrepair and look abandoned, with boarded up windows and trailers on blocks. Do not expect a remote mountain cabin experience, as there are neighbors close by. The entire enclave had a very odd feeling to it, as it was a high-security naturally beautiful area with run-down abandoned properties next door to newly updated, nice homes. * But by far the biggest disappointment was the management and their approach to customer service. They repeatedly made promises, failed to deliver on the promises, and offered only excuses of why technically they weren't obligated to fix the issue, or how they could interpret their company policies to avoid responsibility. After a long conversation with the owner of the company, I see that this same short-term approach to customer service is shared from the top down, which is really disappointing. Please note that in my experiences, renting from Mysty Mountain properties means that you as the renter will be responsible for the company's shortcomings. I have had many excellent vacation rental experiences with other companies and am shocked at how poorly Mysty Mountain properties handled this whole event. This is the first time I have ever posted a negative review, so please know how I strongly recommend that you should check out other rental management companies or apps before booking a vacation rental unless you are prepared for a bad experience, a frustrating customer service experience, and to ultimately pay for the privilege. Rented a property with Mysty Mountain Properties Baring Bend Lodge which left me with an okay slightly poor experience overall. First of all, the pictures on the website looked amazing, the lodge itself was not. Upon arrival, the lodge was at 46 degrees inside because all the heating was shut off! Brrr!!! By the time we heated the place, it took couple hours to get comfortable. The cabin smelt like stale smoke, old furniture smell. Everything was fairly clean, BUT ... the entire kitchen was full of fruit flies, sick! The Jacuzzi was NOT covered, and we stayed there when it was raining, so no real use of that (that was not mentioned on the website). The only reason why I am leaving such a negative review because of the amount of requirements Mysty Mountain Properties require from renters at the end of the stay, but they themselves fail to accommodate a pleasant stay. I've contacted the management during our stay there, and not much was said or done about it. Basically for the amount of money there are better places and customer service out there! Unfortunately, my girlfriend and I were extremely disappointed with the unprofessionalism the company displayed during our stay and the false advertising of the property. Check-in: We stayed at Huckberry Hideout for three days. Originally, I had booked a different property but apparently they had forgotten to remove that property from their listings since it needed to undergo repairs. I switched to Huckberry Hideout, submitted the payment and completed the contract. The details I received about check-in came via their app that they told me to download for instructions. When we arrived we found the cabin located in a remote gated community. There had been no information regarding the access code for the gate and no information that the property was even in a gated community. We called the office to no response. We called the after hours number to no response. Then we emailed the agency to no response. We drove back and managed to get through the gate (we followed another resident in the community who was kind enough to let us through). It took some time to find the cabin as the company provides no details directions to the cabin and the cabin is not well-marked. Once we found the cabin we used our given access code to the cabin to no success. Now there is no cellular connection in the area and the cabin itself is a 10-15 minute drive from the communities gate (please note several of their properties are in the area). We drove out and went to Gold Bar to discuss if we were just going to attempt to make other arrangements. While looking we received a call from the on-call person (ironically the same person who caused the error for our initial booking). We explained the situation and she stated that they failed to send an email with the needed details to access the cabin. I asked why our code didn't work and she stated that it was an error. She gave me their code to the gate and to the cabin. When she failed to offer an apology or any remediation for their error I pressed the matter. She offered to make the third night free to which I pointed out our third was already free and reminded her it was a promotional offer that was advertised on their website. She then offered to waive their cleaning fee of 90.00 which I agreed to and stated I would be in contact with their CEO the following day. Accommodations: The cabin itself was fairly nice. Some of the furnishings were damaged and the area around the house was overgrown. On the website, it says that there is river access and a beach to explore. There is a path to the river but there is no beach and you'll need a pair of waders to explore the river. There is a community beach but it's roughly a 1.5 miles from the cabin. The wooden heater worked well and was lovely at night. The hot tub didn't have any issues except there was no logical place to store the cover when it was in use. Now there were several heaters throughout the home but all were right beside curtains or furniture. I ended up shortening curtains or moving furniture while we were there for safety. Area: The area itself is fairly nice. There are two wonderful state parks and multiple hikes. I would recommend Wallace Falls and Lake Serene. Both were lovely hikes with well-designed trails. Gold Bar has a few restaurants and shops but largely it's a fairly secluded area. Check-out: Please note that they have quite strict policies regarding check-out that I was sure to follow to a T due to earlier issues. They ask you to clean and store all cookware used. Move all dirty laundry to the laundry room. Remove all ashes from the wood heater, take out all trash to a shed located on the property and clean out the hot tub. I wouldn't have minded this if I wasn't paying a 90.00 cleaning fee already. I mean by the time you complete all their required procedures all someone has to do is vacuum the area and change the linens. Recommendations: Stay somewhere else. I've rented from companies, independent homeowners and through major chains and I have literally never had such a poor experience. For myself, when I go on vacation I want to have a relaxing and straightforward experience. I don't want to find myself livid at those I'm renting from. There are a fair number of folks to rent from in the area. I would highly suggest going with another agency if you are planning to stay in the area. read more

WILD LILY IS PARADISE!!! My twin teenage boys, my husband and I were in dire need of a truly relaxing vacation. We were nervous driving up with the twins all ready bickering and arguing in the backseat, but when we arrived all fears and arguing melted away. Everyone had their own space to stretch out, the cabins were perfect! The main cabin was beautifully furnished, I especially appreciate the fact that the appliances were all high-end. We soaked in the hot tub, had simores around the camp fire, lounged in huge hammocks in the sun. I had a great sweat session in the sauna with a quick cooling shower right next door in the outdoor shower. We strolled down to the river to dig our toes in the sand and watched the boys fish, I laid on the comfy couch in the hidden nook upstairs and listened to the wind in the trees. We chowed down on BBQ chicken and strolled through the beautifully manicured forested areas. When we left, we said our goodbyes knowing we'd be back, and felt more refreshed for our crazy-busy city life. Thank you Mysty Mountain for such an amazing experience! Loved our stay at light in the woods! We came for a wedding in Index and the cabin was very close! Booking, checking in and stay were great! Cabin was great, loved the cabin feel and relaxing environment! Hot tub and wood burning stove were great, just wished we had a chance to use them, our visit was way too short! We stayed at the Light in the Woods Cabin near Baring WA. The cabin was ok. The kitchen was small. There were spiders in every corner of the cabin. The master bedroom and bathroom were nice. The bed in the master was uncomfortable. The additional guest bathroom had a very small shower and was quite dark since the light is further back in the room. The additional queen bedroom was very small and difficult to get in and out of the bed, but the bed was comfortable. The twin beds were very uncomfortable. They must have had really old mattresses. There was no wifi or cable TV. Just a DVD player and some DVDs. There were board games available and decks of cards. The hot tub in the back of the house was nice and worked well. read more
