This is likely the best option on Bainbridge -- great location, lovely balconies, clean rooms, regular housekeeping, even quality morning coffee, etc. The downsides are the uncomfortable beds and inadequate window shades. With a bit more attention, this place would be amazing. read more

A last minute lucky to get a room stay, for a quick last minute decision to get away from the city for a shortened weekend. Definitely would recommend this place for a quiet romantic stay for a couple, a great starting off place to explore Brainbridge and the surrounding area for a single too. The big bath was great after a day of hiking, the place is perfectly located with great views of the bay, close enough to walk into town as well as a few places really nearby on the bay, but far enough off the beaten path to be quiet and relaxing. Big bed, big bathroom, and a local coffee ready at the coffee station just down the stairs from the room. A perfect little getaway stay anytime away from the city, just a quick ferry ride away. they don't make places like this anymore. It's a very sweet nicely appointed hotel in the centre of an adorable Eillen town. Views of the harbour and trees all around provide nice views. I stayed in Port Blakely room where French double doors open up onto a patio with flowers and a little fountain. I got into town early and made myself comfortable there. Sean who seems to run the place was so helpful. When he realised I needed to change my reservation, he was able to accommodate me at the last minute. And there's hot water and tea available 24 seven the little entryway. I will definitely be coming back. read more

Wow! I am a frequent traveler and am accustomed to fine hotels and vacation rentals both, but this is quite possibly one of the most comfortable, charming, well apportioned, and beautifully designed rentals I have ever seen. I love the fact that it is self check in, and it has an air of exclusivity and privacy which I found comforting. We got one of the suites which is actually a house and given the relatively low price I was quite shocked by the value. Our suite was fully stocked with a mind boggling quantity of games, puzzles, books, magazines and more. The exterior is quite remarkable and the architecture is stunning reminding me of multi terraced villas with warm colors and soothing brick. We come to Seattle regularly for business and have usually stayed there but because the Bainbridge ferry is walking distance from Eagle Harbor, we will never stay in Seattle again and will regularly stay at Eagle Harbor Inn the 4-6 times a year we need to visit Seattle. If you've gotten this far, trust me folks, you will find this Inn nothing short of spectacular! read more

Enjoyed a quick trip to The Eagle Harbor Inn. Great location in town and I could walk to most things. Harbor views too! Also very close to the ferry. Was worried after reading some other reviews that mentioned noise, traffic, people walking by windows, etc., however I thought it was very quite and did not have an issue with that at all. Yes, you are in town, so there is very little noise for being in town (you aren't on 5 acres in the country), but the town noise dies by 9 pm. Nor was anybody by my windows. The Inn checked all the important boxes -- Rooms are nicely decorated, clean, comfortable bed had nice linens. Beautiful court yard with tables, fountains, and flowers. I enjoyed reading my book out there. The also have good parking available below the rooms. There isn't a lobby on site, so I didn't interact with staff that much, but when I needed something they answered the phone and promptly addressed my request. Also, super easy check in process done by email. I appreciated that (one less thing to do). Would defiantly stay here again and recommend it. read more

The Eagle Harbor Inn was the best possible place for our recent family reunion. All the indoor spaces were large, comfortable, and beautifully furnished, the patio added a lovely additional hang-out spot with an incredible view, and the location -- smack dab in the middle of Winslow -- made it easy for us to walk to all our favorite places. But best of all was the "above and beyond" kindness of the Inn's owners, who went way out of their way to find and mail us a small but important item we'd accidentally left behind. We are so grateful, and we'd love to stay at the Inn again, at the next possible opportunity! read more

Perfect stay! We stayed upstairs in the main house. Loved our room. Great big bathtub, quiet, clean, romantic, and great view even though the windows were small. Really nice courtyard but too cold when we stayed (March) to enjoy it. Walking distance from the ferry dock and very close to town and the waterfront. Will definitely return! read more

Hardwood floors, high end finishes throughout and best of all they are literally a 3 minute walk to the water and all of downtown Bainbridge. I'd say 4.5. Great spot. We has a town house with 2 beds and full kitchen which was ideal for our purposes. Also a second room off the main building which was great as well. Only a few minor things, like broken turners on a few windows, old and sour half and half in the fridge (they had more that wasn't)...but nothing negative to say at all. Prime location to walk everywhere and very clean. I slept like a baby despite another guest sitting outside on the phone trying to justify her cheating to her boyfriend until almost midnight. Not the Inn's fault she is a selfish jerk (on so many levels). I turned on the fan on the A/C unit and was able to get to sleep eventually. Will absolutely stay here for our next visit. read more

Super comfortable and lovely amenities (fresh cookies and coffee/tea every morning!). Cons: Wish the walls/doors were better insulated. I stayed at the Eagle Harbor Inn with my partner and young son. The suite we stayed in was phenomenal. A lot of hard work was put into the details of every room and you can tell the owners care about guest experience. It is a close walk to shopping and restaurants on Bainbridge (even the ferry is within walking distance -- no extra ferry fees, no parking headaches!), and the view of the water from the property is impressive. I would definitely stay here again and have already recommended it to friends looking for romantic getaways and corporate retreats. It's the perfect location for a get away from Seattle proper (a stay-cation), for showing out of town visitors how beautiful the PNW is, and I could even see it being a great fit to stay and take the ferry for a Sea Hawks or Mariners game, given the convenience of the ferries. My fiancé and I stayed here for our last romantic night away before our baby comes. It's a quaint inn with the perfect location on Bainbridge - close to the harbor and shops/restaurants. The inn only has a few rooms and has the feel of a little bed and breakfast. The landscaping and building are beautiful and the rooms are romantic and charming. We stayed in the Rockaway Beach Room which is on the second floor and has vaulted ceilings. The room is really spacious and has a little reading nook just outside it with local books and trail maps. The room has a comfortable bed with AC, TV, and mini fridge. The bathroom has a big jacuzzi tub which made for an amazing, relaxing bath. In the morning they serve fresh coffee from Pegasus. The only downfall is that they don't allow dogs so we had to board our pup. I have been wanting to come here and so happy we finally did. We will surely be back! read more

My friends and I stayed in one of the townhouses here for a friend's bachelorette party in late September. We were able to sleep 7 girls comfortably, between the two bedrooms and a pull out couch. This was a wonderful, convenient location, a quick walk to the ferry, shops, and restaurants, and provided all of the amenities of a home away from home. The space was immaculately clean, updated furnishings, and was stylish in decor. While our townhouse did not have the bed and breakfast option, there was ample coffee available in the office, and linens were cleaned by the time we returned back in the afternoon. I would recommend this location for a family or group of friends looking to stay near the action of Winslow but have the luxury of a private kitchen, laundry, and extra space. read more

We just spent a quick overnight at Eagle Harbor Inn, in the Port Blakely room. It was truly wonderful. We asked for an early check in to accommodate our daughters afternoon nap and they kindly allowed it. They had the room all set up with a pack n play right in time for us to put her down. We enjoyed sitting on the terrace overlooking the dock while she snoozed. Everything was thought of at EHI, fitness passes, delicious coffee, lanterns for outside. I need to update my last review. We stayed at the Eagle Harbor again. Yet again, we found the location to be extremely convenient and very central. It's walkable to everything and the hotel is cute. But this time we were left with the impression that the hotel is overpriced and not that attentive. For example, when I took a shower, I noticed mold growing out of the shower head. I took out my own fingernail brush and cleaned it off before proceeding with my shower. Yuck! The cleaning staff didn't replace essentials when they cleaned the room, and they left the door open when they departed. They also spilled something (water I hope) on the bed. And to top it off, the cleaning staff took all of the parking spaces in the somewhat small parking lot. When we came back midday to drop something off, we had to park on the street. Really? Bottom line, I really want to love this place. It's cute, it has a great location, but this visit it felt like they take advantage of the fact that they're the only boutique hotel in downtown. read more

I stayed here for my cousin's wedding. It was an overall great experience. Pros: Our room was clean and beautiful!! It is located in a very private area but conveniently situated next to a great bar and plenty of shopping places. Cons: The housekeeper rushed us and said she was leaving early so our room wouldn't get cleaned if we didn't leave right away. I thought that was odd. When my aunt mentioned this to the innkeepers, they immediately apologized and even clean our rooms themselves. They were so nice and really made us feel welcomed. Nice looking petit hotel in a convenient location within walking distance of Winslow area. We were in the Great Forest Room, their smallest. Lovely, clean room with comfortable bed. However, it was NOISY! Quiet conversation from the courtyard and lobby sounded like people were right next to my bed. The light traffic noise also traveled into our room throughout the evening and waking us up (I think we also happened to be here either garbage day or street cleaning day!). The blinds in the room did not keep out enough light in the morning adding to a poor night's sleep. At least the Pegasus coffee provided with real half & half in the morning helped us get going in the morning! I would not stay here in this room again. Perhaps their other rooms are quieter. read more

The Eagle Harbor Inn is mis-categorized here on yelp as a b & b though they don't provide breakfast. They DO have delicious coffee, however, every morning at 7:00am. We stayed in "The Great Forest Room" described on the website as, "A lodge-like ground floor hotel room with the feel of the forest. This intimate hotel room sleeps 2 in a king bed and rents from $149-$159 per night." A more accurate name for this room might be "The Grand Display Case" since passersby look directly into the room (and even the bathroom) from both the sidewalk outside and the entry to the foyer. While other rooms may provide a delightful stay, this one lacks even the remotest sense of a "forest" experience as well as any intimacy. The room was comfortable, though a little sterile, much like a modified conference room with a bed, just off the foyer. The bed and bedding were delightful and provided a very good night's sleep. All in all, very close to all the great stuff Bainbridge has to offer, but lacking in the ambiance as described on the website. The 2 stars reflects this disappointment. At $149 per night, I'd have expected to be delighted. read more

The Eagle Harbor Inn was a nice place to stay. The room was clean and comfortable and came with good amenities. When you walk into the lobby there is a tray of fresh cookies and coffee and tea. The owners of the Inn were very nice and welcoming. Some of the rooms come with a terrace that leads to a small courtyard. This was a short walk from the ferry and includes a nice garage to park in if you are bringing a vehicle. The ground floor room was a bit noisy because of the street leading to the Marina, but overall, it was worth it. read more

Perfect place for an impromptu romantic overnight on Bainbridge Island! We had planned to spend the night camping but as the weather took a turn for the ugly, we decided to treat ourselves to a cozy night in, so glad we did! Everything was furnished beautifully, the toiletries smelled great (grapefruit, yum!) and the bed was amaaaazingly comfortable and had delightfully soft sheets and comforter, that felt like an upscale home or B and B, not typical cheesy hotel fare. Also, the owner gave us a great mid-week, last-minute rate which helped us decide it was worth the splurge! We stayed in the Grand Forest room, and would definitely stay here again! read more

By far the best B&B that I've stayed at. It's really more of a hotel than a B&B, as they don't serve breakfast. You don't have to meet the owner because it's completely independent; you coordinate with the property owner beforehand and then your code will get you everywhere you need to go. My 'Harbour Suite' at the first level faces the waters.It's within vicinity to shopping and dining areas like 'Harbour Public House' where I thoroughly enjoyed my Bacon Lettuce & Tomato Sandwich (BLT) with chickpea soup. Though it has no front desk, I bumped into Jeanette, the 'cleaning lady' and innkeeper, Boonie. Both are warm and gracious. I shall return one day for a romantic/idyllic getaway. read more

After a week in the San Juan Islands, we needed a quick place to stay before heading to back to Seattle, and the Port Blakely Room was the only king room available. Room was perfectly adequate and we had a comfortable stay. However, the room is placed oddly between the street and a common walkway to the parking lot, so the room never felt restful. Though there was not a huge amount of foot traffic, it didn't feel particularly "private," and I wasn't comfortable opening any of the screens or drapes, as we would have been fully exposed to passersby. Since we arrived at the last minute with no reservation (and there is no lobby), we called the Inn and someone came down (from somewhere) and took our reservation on a laptop. Our room wasn't ready, but we were promised an email when it was. That never happened, because our email address was incorrectly noted. After killing enough time in town, we finally called about the room only to find someone else at the "desk" who then had to straighten everything out. All in all, we had a nice stay, but it was nothing special. Perhaps some of the other suites are nicer or larger or have a view of some kind to make the experience more pleasant and memorable. Ours had no view; just French doors to a small terrace (the public walkway). Good coffee in the suite's shared vestibule. Note: To put our room location in perspective, the patio chairs that we sat in to complete our reservation by laptop was the Port Blakely Room's patio chairs (see photo on the Website's "Inn Policies" page). The hotel's phone number is written on the door to the Room's vestibule, so from a visitor's point of view, the vestibule and Room look like it should be the hotel's office/reception, but it isn't. The set-up is very strange, because every instinct tells you that this doorway should lead to the Inn's reception area. We actually tried to open the door when we first arrived only to be sternly put off by exiting guests saying, "this isn't the office." I'd suggest some sort of signage to direct arriving guests who are unfamiliar with the property. And for guests staying in the Port Blakely Room, it makes the stay that much more awkward to find "business" being transacted outside of the room. None of these things are deal breakers, it's just odd. read more

We stayed in this hotel during our wedding, and while the rooms were very nice the service we received when holding a block of rooms for our guests was sub-par. The management was very confused by the industry-accepted method of holding a block of rooms for a wedding and having guests call and reserve them. I had to go back and forth several times with the hotel staff to have them stop telling my wedding guests that the entire hotel was booked. For the guests that eventually were able to book rooms, the hotel hadn't asked for credit card numbers so they kept on calling me the week before the wedding and asked me to give them people's credit card numbers (as if we didn't have enough to coordinate). Then the hotel tried to charge us for the rooms they ended up having to discount because not everything booked up through the wedding hold. (we gave them more than the 3 week requested notice to release the rooms to the public). Shocking. If I had to do it again I'd go with the more economical/professional option up the street. read more
