My family and I stayed for just under 2 weeks in the family suite. Our suite was clean and spacious. They had a decent sized kitchen, fully equipped with a full sized refrigerator, dishwasher, and an induction cooktop. Pots/pans, toaster, coffee maker, dishes and utensils were also included. The staff were also very accommodating whenever we requested anything such as towels or dish soap, and if we needed their help with anything. They have 4 washers and 4 dryers for guests to use (I'm not sure if there were more upstairs). It was $1 for the washer, and 0.25 for 10 mins of drying. They offered a complimentary breakfast for guests in the lobby. Some of the items were individual sized milk, cereal, fruit cup, sliced apple packs, boiled eggs, pastries, and sometimes breakfast sandwiches. They are usually really good at refilling the refrigerated items if they notice it's running low....but get there early if you want your coffee. I usually picked up breakfast around 8:30-8:50 and sometimes the coffee canisters are already empty, which is understandable. It isn't a big deal because you can make a pot in your own room, or you can go across the street to the Mini Nex and just buy some there. The only problem I noticed with our stay was that the rug around the AC unit in the bedroom was soaking wet. We would turn the AC/heater off whenever we left the hotel but it would still be wet. We mentioned it to the house keepers and they put towels around it for about a few days, but it was still wet. We didn't mind too much because we were out and about most of the time so it didn't bother us. Even with this complaint, I still give our stay at the Navy Lodge-Bangor a 5 star rating because of the professionalism of the staff, and the price that can't be beat! read more

My husband and I had to move with military orders from Point Mugu, CA to Bremerton, WA this past winter. We had to stay at the Navy Lodge for about 2 months. The rooms were reasonably priced. The rooms were very clean. Housekeeping staff were all great and kept our room nice and clean throughout our lengthy stay. Everyone at the front desk were helpful and professional but Grace at the front desk was amazing. Grace was friendly yet professional and went out of her way to accommodate our needs with an ADA room due to my recent back surgery and car accident after arriving to the area. The beds were extremely uncomfortable and so firm/hard that neither my husband or myself had a good nights sleep. Each morning we would wake up feeling like we were run over by a truck. The free breakfast was good. Very limited but worked fine for us. The coffee was terrible. The AC/Heater unit in our room was unpredictable, and made it hard to find a comfortable temperature to set it at. We had a few interactions with the manager, Elizabeth Levit. She was rude and unprofessional. It's obvious by her demeanor that she does not like her job. Luckily we didn't have to deal the manager often during our stay, but the few times we did were unpleasant. read more

Late post: My family and I stayed here March-April (PCSing out). There were good and bad experiences here. The good was the cleanliness of the room, friendly staff, and location for work. When we checked in, we were given a room on the 1st floor, however, when we saw the mini refrigerator we asked for a different room. Note: if you don't like your room, you must immediately let front desk know and don't sit or touch anything in the room, as they will not allow you to switch rooms. We were then given a room on the 2nd floor with a semi normal size refrigerator. This was great because we were staying for a month and a half. Also the staff members were friendly. My daughter would run all, screaming, and saying hello to everyone. The staff always played with her, giving high fives or playing games with her. The lodge is located on base which is great for the sailors because they don't have to walk far or drive far to get to work. The lodge is also next to the mini NEX, McDonalds, (commissary and big NEX are about a 5 minute walk away). So it is great for those reasons, however, i think the location is terrible for Internet connection. I had to do my online schooling while we were PCSing so I relied on the Internet. (cellphone serve Verizon, hardly worked). The internet went out for days at a time. We were told to call the company directly-they would troubleshoot for us and when it didn't work, they would blame iPhone updates for blocking the connection (my husband has Android and his phone did not connect either). When choosing a hotel, Navy lodge is great for the price (and also TLA requires us to stay here if there is availability) but I would be skeptical if you and your family rely on internet. We did use our hotspot somewhat...by putting our phones in the window, but it hardly worked. This is a very secured based so I would not be surprised if that was the reason the internet service is terrible. read more

The worst hotel experience I have had. I have stayed in many many hotels. This one is bar far the worst. I would rather stay in a dirty motel than this hotel. The rooms are clean, and the kitchen amenities are very nice. The management however ruins the experience. The manager will only complain about being over run and short staffed, try hiring more staff. The manager was rude from the moment I stepped through the door. Only count on fresh towels when you request them, and don't expect being polite to get you anywhere. I will never be taking my service to this hotel as long as the manager works here. You can ask to resolve any issues but she just cannot be appeased. read more

Wow! Was going to book a room, but didn't even make it past the front desk over the phone! When I called to make a reservation, because i don't know the area and I was not able to find much last minute, the woman on the phone was so rude that I decided to not even waste anymore time. If they were going to be that abhorrent on the phone, I didn't even want to bother with how horrible the service in person would be!!!! No thanks! Booking elsewhere! By the looks of the reviews, I'm probably doing myself a favor anyway. Only problem is none of these places look very nice. Good news is I found something much nicer too! While this Navy Lodge lacks amenities like elevators (it's only two stories), large continental breakfasts (two cereals and some yogurt) and breathtaking views (you might be able to see McDonalds), the Navy Lodge on Bangor makes up for it with affordable prices and clean, comfortable rooms. The Navy Lodge Bangor is newly renovated, stylish, and clean. The rooms are spacious; mine even included a kitchenette ( I think most of them do). I really don't have any complaints. I'll give it five stars, but don't expect the Hilton. read more

We are in WA due to a PCS move. We checked in 3 days ago and so far so good! It's a small property so you'll have to make sure to reserve a room at least a month in advance, if not more. The lady who checked us in was very friendly and welcoming. They accept pets with a fee. This hotel is very well kept and the rooms are in great shape as well. The mattress could use an upgrade though. We are right next to the laundry room and surprisingly cannot hear anything from that area. It's actually pretty quiet throughout the hotel which is nice. They offer continental breakfast and coffee is available all day. Laundry is affordable and so convenient: $1.00 for washer and $.50 for the dryer-both run for 30 minutes. They have vending machines on site. The Mini NEX is in walking distance as well as McDonalds. We are really enjoying our stay here until our rental is ready for move-in! read more

The general manager, Elizabeth Leavitt, overcharged us MULTIPLE times and refused to except the fact that she did, even with our proof. We were told that the charges didn't go through even though we had bank statements showing it did. She gave us a receipt of all of the charges and those charges were not documented. We ended up having to go to the bank to get over $800 back that had been over charged for 1 week of stay. We had to get the command involved. Towards the end of our stay, we had 2 types of mold growing in our shower despite the fact that our room was "cleaned" 2 days prior. My husband is deathly allergic and when I told the front desk, I was given bleach to clean it. We ended up being kicked out because they didn't have room for us anymore and conveniently forgot to put us on a waiting list to extend our stay even though we asked every day for several days because our on-base housing move in date was pushed back. We were left without a place to stay and they genuinely did not care about anything they had put us through. Will never recommend any family or friends to stay here. Go stay at the other hotel on the Bangor base, the Gateway Inn. Their customer service is great and have generally not had any problems like this. The Navy Lodge has had other problems like this as our friends are dealing with almost the exact same problems as our other guests. Worst hotel I've ever had to stay at. The rooms are nice, but the amenities could be better. Seeing that most of the people who would be staying here for a long period of time will be military who are transferring there should be a business center to use on the premises. I needed to print some things and the receptionist stated they had nothing although I was looking at the printer behind the desk, and a computer which she was using to watch you-tube videos. The rooms are very clean and the staff, other than one receptionist, were super friendly. The kitchenette is great, but it would be nice to have a pan vice three pots and they should really have the knives sharpened more often. Overall I will stay here again, the gripes I have do not put way the cost, or the connivence to base location. Just would be nice to have since all my stuff is on a truck going to the next location. read more

Wow! The navy lodge at Bangor is incredible! My husband and I stayed two nights on our trip to Washington and were pleasantly surprised at just how wonderful our stay was! Our room had two queens, a full kitchenette equipped with what you'd need to make a meal. The room was impeccably clean and the hotel itself was nice and quiet for a restful night. The NEX convenience store is located in the same parking lot and there is a Redbox (with DVD player in the room). We were able to buy some snacks as needed there. Also, the front desk staff were incredibly nice and they provide for a simple yet suitable breakfast in the morning of cereals, bagels and juice. I would highly recommend! read more

Wow, amazing how things change in a few year. Used to love this place but not anymore! We are PCS inbound after a 3k mile drive we get here for our nine nights only to be met with the rudest attitude I have ever encountered on a navy base. The older woman working the desk was checking me in and I reminded her it was supposed to be a pet room as we have a cat. She immediately said that isn't what it says here rather put out. I say well do you have a pet room? Her response was no. I asked for a list of hotels then that would hopefully be able to accommodate us. She then walked away and called who I can only assume was her boss, since in the conversation I hear she referred to herself as 'only a peon'. Now I could deal with having to find another hotel, I could deal with paying more money but if you are going to talk shit about a guest, a paying guest do it out of ear shot. She not only mimicked me on the phone to her boss but said things I didn't even say. Rude is just the tip of the iceberg. Never have I been treated with such disrespect. I have a cat, a cat who spent the last week stuck in a crate and hotels, a cat who is quieter and cleaner than both my kids (who are pretty clean too). She apparently gets the go ahead to stick us in a room anyway (gotta make that money). Great no need to find somewhere else. But our rooms smells horrible, absolutely horrid, migraine inducing, olfactory symphony of cleaning chemicals. I don't know what they are trying to cover up but it couldn't possible justify the amount of off brand Lysol that is permeating our room. Never ever will I stay at a Navy Lodge again. read more

The staff at Navy Lodge Bangor were very accommodating to my situation and went over and beyond the call of duty to ensure my father has a place to stay. As a military mom of two PCS can be very stressful, working with people who understand that stress is paramount to making the transition seamless. I would recommend this establishment to all.. it also has a playground for the kiddos, a lil shopette and McDonalds all in walking distance. read more

I think this is a nice Navy Lodge. We stayed here when we moved here last summer. It is clean and the rooms are a decent size (with a good kitchen). The lobby is nice (with WiFi) and the service is good. I like the park attached to it (my kids enjoyed it) and it is within walking distance of the miniNEX, McDonald's, and the Commissary. read more

Love it here. Everyone on staff has been so accommodating/nice They have a free easy type breakfast in the morning (cereal, bars, coffee) they accept pets which has been a life saver. It's close to McDonald's, nex, commissary, mini mart. Theirs a playground for kiddies and they even have a dvd collection that you can check out for free at the from desk. The rooms have lil kitchenettes which is nice to be able to cook meals. Best of all it's very affordable... They do book up fast though. read more

Very nice hotel with very spacious and clean rooms. Room included kitchen with microwave, oven, and refrigerator. Staff was also very friendly and attentive. Also in a great location next to the exchAnge and McDonald's. The only thing I would change is that I would prefer to have the option of the cleaning staff not coming in to your room everyday. Would definitely stay again and would recommend others to stay as well. read more
