I would not recommend renting from Seattle Vacation Home under any circumstances…read more We booked a home called The Autobahn through Expedia for our family, based on its layout, features, and photos. Just before our trip, the property management company told us the home was suddenly unavailable due to "maintenance issues" and moved us to a different house without our consent. That's where the trouble started. The replacement property was dirty, unsafe, and misrepresented. There were stained carpets, a smelly basement, peeling deck boards, filthy bathtubs, and no AC during a heat wave in Seattle. Many rooms had no way to ventilate safely -- windows were sealed shut or lacked screens. Worse: after visiting the original property we booked, we discovered it hadn't been maintained or prepared for guests in months. It was never going to be available. The "maintenance issue" excuse was a complete fabrication. This was a bait-and-switch, plain and simple. When I tried to address the concerns, the owner was dismissive and condescending, suggesting that we should have "ignored the lower two floors" of the home (which were filthy). He took no responsibility for the condition of the property or the misleading communication. We've documented everything with photos, a timeline, and communication logs, which have been shared with Expedia and will be escalated further if needed. This company may appear professional online, but our experience was the opposite. If you're traveling with your family or expecting a quality rental that matches the listing, look elsewhere.

Located on a bluff above Eagle Harbor, there is ample outdoor seating to enjoy the massive expanse of water and sky. A curving set of wood and stone steps lead down to the water where one can barbeque, go kayaking, sit and relax, or walk on the beach. I saw an eagle swoop on some cormorants that were sitting out on a floating dais (they dove and easily escaped him). The view of Mt. Rainier from the beach is unique and if one walks down a ways one can see the Seattle skyline. The place is everything it is advertised to be: the windows overlook Eagle Harbor with the ferries coming and going, the kitchen is well equipped and the stove has gas burners, the bed is very comfortable, the television has more channels than I would ever watch, Wi Fi is free, the bathroom is clean and the showerhead is powerful. The owners were friendly and honored my privacy. Photographers, artists, birdwatchers, couples, small families, kayakers, an individual looking to relax - I could go on - will all find something here. I found true peace and quiet.

The view was stunning and I loved watching the ferry go back and forth each day. The weather was beautiful and I was able to sit outside at the cute table and chairs Claes and Jenny have out on the patio. The inside was very clean and cozy and the wood burning stove was awesome! The owners live upstairs but I never heard/saw them, however, they make it very clear in the information they email you that should you need ANYTHING during your stay don't hesitate to just let them know. It was private, quiet and beautiful. For someone who only gets one vacation a year, it was exactly what I needed and as mentioned, I will definitely be back next year!

Whomever was doing housekeeping just made up a dirty bed and called it a day. Gross under any circumstances, but inexcusable during a pandemic. -The bathmat was dirty as well. I threw it in the washer/dryer along with several towels because I no longer trusted the cleanliness of the linens and it came out looking brand-new and almost unrecognizable from what it was before. Yikes. -Missing some very basic-level necessities in terms of dining, cooking, and baking. No wine glasses, one lonely mixing bowl, one tiny cookie sheet, everything else is jumbled together in one big drawer with lots of sharp pointy things that no doubt hundreds of hands have touched. -Everything is technically clean but it's very surface-level, lots of dust and crumbs in spots, including the coffee table. Again, it's a pandemic. You couldn't wipe it down before the next guest? -If you're looking for the coffeemaker, you will find it in the hallway closet near the front door. No idea why it was put there but guessing it's because housekeeping can't be bothered to clean it. My husband and I didn't find it until our second night. If you love your morning coffee then you know how annoying this is. NOTE: I am not a clean freak and I hate leaving negative reviews without contacting first. I tried to contact Mysty Mountain Properties before leaving this review of Vista View Chalet but the phone number on the website was disconnected and the backup phone number led me to a voicemail which told me to text them with my problem. I did so, but they never responded back.

That is the LEAST someone who is in the hospitality business could do to ensure that the guests who have paid a large sum to stay at this dirty old cabin don't freeze to death in the cold. But, we got to the cabin thinking everything was fine, drove family in tow to Leavenworth then to our cabin to find out power is out and has been out. Fine, maybe they didn't know? Fine, then next step should be for a full refund. Because I sure did not pay to camp out with no power near Stevens Pass in the middle of December. But nope, that's too much to ask too. So we drove back home, 3 hours at 9 pm where we had a warm place to stay. Then came back to Stevens pass since we had already booked our lift tickets. Do yourself a favor and don't stay here. We opened the door to find not only no power but the stench of stale old body odor. The management is a joke and apparently customer service is not in the vocabulary. As a business owner and also someone who is in the rental industry these people should just quit before they ruin any other holiday plans for another family.

These have been souped up with a heated floor in the shower room and a gas fireplace. We stayed in Lodge 14 and it was fairly spacious, not creaky, with a king size bed in the main bedroom as well as a little curtained-off annex room with a small bed that worked for our son. The biggest issue at this property is that no staff are on sight. You can reach them via text, but there can be quite the delay in receiving an answer or you may receive none at all. You are especially out of luck if you run into a problem "after hours," which is after 5p. We stayed 2 nights. The first night we discovered the only blanket available for the annex bed was very heavy and way too hot. We had to open all the windows in the room to make up for this, which is nice, but the island is alive with birds starting at about 4:30a, making it too loud to have the windows open. We texted the property manager the following morning asking for a normal-weight comforter, or if they want us to just use the AC (we were hesitant to do that in the chilly weather). They informed me that the lodges' electrical systems are tied to each other, and there would be issues if we used AC in our lodge while the lodge next to it might be using the heat. They brought a lighter blanket, but it was barely heavier than a sheet, so not workable. I ended up having to open all the windows and then wake up at 4a to go back into my son's room to close his windows. Not relaxing. The property had a nice communal space with a wood fire pit as well as a glass fire pit (the latter of these emits very little heat), next to bathrooms and what looks like a inside common room and kitchen, though these were locked... You are given a code for the bathrooms. Night 2, at 7p, we wanted to hang out in the space with the friend we were visiting, and we could not access the bathrooms as our code was not working. I texted the number immediately, but no one ever responded. That was a huge bummer. I guess when you arrive, I would recommend immediately checking out all of the amenities and making sure they work, and your code works with them, as no one will be around to help you later. I was extremely disappointed that no one even responded to me. Pros: - It was clean. - Heaters in the shower room were nice - Shower was nice - Bed was large, though with the usual dips in the mattress that you get with many cheaper hotels. - A staff member did respond to my text after the first night issues, and they did try to help - The communal space was quite nice, even though I wasn't able to experience it all - The lodges are well-insulated - The location is excellent. Cons: - The lodge is pretty sterile feeling. It could be greatly improved with more art on the walls. - Only one sink in the lodge. Used for both kitchen and bathroom. - Not enough linen choices for bedding. - The pillows were absolutely horrific. Like large hard stuffed animals. They did bring us two slightly less stuffed pillows after the first night. These were still too hard and uncomfortable. - No bedside lamp on the left side of the main bed - My access codes to other parts of the property did not work, and no one responded to me about it. - The toilet, which is right next to the main bedroom, has an extremely loud flush. Not ideal during the night. - The couch was gross-looking, very worn. We didn't want to use it. We asked that they provide a blanket to cover it with. They assured me it was clean, just worse for wear. This place is cute and convenient. It could be improved with just a little more care and attention to detail (artwork, rugs, more linen options, nicer pillows). It could also be greatly improved by having one staff member on site, or at least on-call at all hours.

There was no one there to greet us and looked like that they were still getting the dining room ready. The hostess did not come out until five minutes before seating time. I was kind of disappointed since this was supposed to be a special Easter brunch, but there was nothing to indicate that this was for Easter other than a few of the desserts. No Easter bunny, there are a couple Easter egg decorations on every table, but that was about it. Still, the ambience was good, a fancy brunch at a fancy hotel. The wait staff provided excellent service. The food was provided in a pretty good spread. The prime rib and the fresh oysters were probably the standout of the food. I don't know why they only have one person with two tiny hot plates to man the made to order station there for everyone. The family did like the desserts, they were very cute. My wife thought that they were too sweet, but that just means I like them a lot. All in all, it was a good brunch to experience once for a special occasion. No huge complaints here.

As verified by the property owner, the squatters have paid ZERO in rent while causing damage to the home, including flooding the interior of the home, while Maple Leaf Property Management has failed to evict and remove the squatters. This started in January and has continued as of the publication of this website. This page is a review and my personal testimonial with our experience having our neighbors property managed by Maple Leaf Property Management. As of this writing and to the best of my knowledge, Maple Leaf Property Management has not pursued criminal proceedings for the squatters writing a bad check despite it being a Class C felony in Washington State. They have had multiple court dates for the eviction, and have failed to remove the squatters despite their criminal unlawful issuance of a bank check. I am the father of two living with my family on 88th St near Stone in Seattle. The failings of Maple Leaf Property Management have had a profound impact on the peace and quality of life of my family. We have requested that Maple Leaf Property Management take steps to mitigate the impact on our household, but it has fallen on deaf ears. The property with the squatters has a high amount of traffic nightly between midnight and 4 AM. Based on attire, I am fairly certain that prostitution is involved. We also see people coming and going during those hours on scooters and wearing backpacks. I would guess that the distribution of drugs is involved, with the possibility that they are also reconstituting drugs on the property. There are dozens of different people coming and going from the property each week, with the highest activity being between midnight and 4 AM. It feels like we are living under siege in our own home. We have had to modify our schedule to make sure that our children do not come or go after dark, and have someone available to escort them in and out. This is entirely due to the failings of Maple Leaf Property Management. More details at https://mapleleafmgtsucks.com/
