This is a great place for your eyes. The staff are friendly and the place is easy to get to downtown Seattle. To start, the staff are patient, especially with me, since I can't stand bright light on exams. Though I was difficult the staff went with it and didn't make me uncomfortable. The doctor was great and took the time to explain everything and was thorough. Lastly, when picking out new frames, the staff took the time to explain benefits and let me take my time and try on 15+ pairs before I made a decision. First time coming here, since I've been bumping around different eye doctors over the years looking for a place I'd like both the doctor AND the glasses they have in their inventory. I had no method to my madness in choosing this eye clinic. I work in downtown Seattle so all I did was Yelp "eye doctor" and this came up and luckily it wasn't too far of a walk for me, so I made an appointment after reading some reviews. It's on the corner of 6th & Pine but upstairs on the 2nd floor, you can see it from the street. Setting an appointment was easy, they will send you multiple confirmations via text or email, they will look up your insurance coverage for you before your appointment so they know what they are working with. Dr. Fang was very nice & friendly, welcoming and thorough through the entire process. Spoke in depth about my eyeballs, vision and health of my eye. Took good amount of time to make sure my prescription was accurate. Provided some options for my contacts, ordered them for me to try on, I did have to come back a few times to try them on and came back again to pick up the chosen contacts. I prefer to wear glasses, they did offer to help with that as well and will come back for eyeglass help next time. I found Seattle Eye as I was looking for a shop that carries a particular brand of frames (Moscot) and they were the only shop in the area that does. I am certainly glad I did. Paul and his associates are top notch. Paul is extremely knowledgeable in how to fit eyeglasses properly, something that is very rare. Most places I've been to, it's pick something off multiple racks of frames with someone saying "oh those look good " for every frame you try on. Not here, Paul was able to explain what would work for my facial structure and complexion in terms of frame style, color and sizing. Seattle Eye, are by far the best experience I've had shopping for glasses in a long time. I live out in Monroe and wasn't finding what I wanted, through a search I connected with Seattle Eye. Paul ordered in several frames for me to try on, as I couldn't decide what I wanted just from the Moscot website and in store stock. They also have a great selection of other brands as I almost went with another brand. I also purchased a a pair of Rudy Project cycling glasses in my prescription as well. I did not have my eyes examined by them as I had had it done in Monroe where I live. What I will say is the lab they use is truly excellent as well. Very often in my case, as I have a very high astigmatism in one eye, my prescription doesn't always seem to transfer from exam room to eyeglasses perfectly. In this case it did on both sets of glasses, very impressed and pleased. I'm seeing better than I have in quite awhile with the lenses from their lab, vision detail is excellent. They are well worth the drive down from Monroe. I will definitely be using Paul and Seattle Eye for all my eye care needs in the future. read more

My husband and I have purchased several pairs of glasses there and the experience has been perfect. Beyond that, the guarantee, follow up and assistance with minor repairs (lost a nose cushion on one, stepped on a pair and broke the arm off on another, etc.) has been over the top. In Seattle in business and had an eye injury. I thought I could tough it through but the pain had me searching for an urgent care clinic. I ran across a Swedish express clinic and made an appointment. They were amazing, calling to tell me that they found me an eye doctor because they didn't want me to go there if they couldn't completely help me. I called Seattle eye and they got me right in. Everyone was so kind and the doctor made a quick diagnosis. The wonderful local pharmacy filled my prescriptions and off I went! This is the kind of place you hope you can find when you need care! Recently on the hunt for new prescription eye glasses. I wanted to check out Oakley frames, and Seattle Eye is one of the few shops in Seattle that is a Oakley Prescription Eyewear dealer. Turns out they have a huge selection of Oakley, pretty much every single frame they make on display to try out. I ended up selecting the Oakley Servo XL which is a new frame for 2012. The two ladies working in the Optical Shop were extremely nice and helpful. They both worked to find frames in the size I needed. Once the frame was selected they walked me through the lens selection. Their prices aren't bargain basement, but remember this is downtown Seattle and they have a good size showroom inventory. I've also bought Oakley and Maui Jim sunglasses from them in the past. I will continue to come here for both my sunglass and prescription needs! read more

Eye Clinic: I've been to many eye doctors in the years and Dr. Crowell was the ONLY one that ever explained to me fully about my astigmatism changes and even went further to help explain to me why my previous prescription was incorrect by physically showing me what the right lens would look like. He also went over what I should be expecting as I get older and provided me with ideas on how to best utilize my insurance policy assuming I stay with my employer. I am really happy with the services I received at Seattle Eye. Rain and Lydia were so helpful and knowledgeable that it made my experience that much better. I've been wanting new prescription glasses and the usual place that I get them from didn't have what I wanted. I was searching the internet for a place close by and found this place. They have an awesome selection of designer glasses. They carry Tom Ford, Prada, Gucci, Chanel, Coach, Tommy Bahama, Tag Heuer and Burberry just to name a few. You can call ahead of time and they will quote a price for the frames before coming in the optical store. I went in to the optical shop on a Saturday looking at the frames they had. Darn I forgot the person's name that helped me out. But he was very helpful, friendly and patient. He noticed the sunglasses I had on the top of my head and asked how they were working out for me. I mentioned that I had dropped them and one of the lenses popped out. He offered to fix it for free and asked if I needed and adjustment on them. How nice. I found a great pair of frames that were a grayish, white marble with chrome and they were on sale for 50% off. He said it would be about two weeks and I ended up getting a call 5 days later telling me that they were ready. I picked them up the following Saturday and it just needed a minor adjustment. Next time I need another pair of glasses or even sunglasses I will be buying them from here. There is no sales pressure, they have a great selection and customer service is awesome. 17/30 read more

Very satisfied with my first visit to Seattle Eye. After filling out the forms I was able to see Dr. Crowell with little wait. Not that it matters, but it was nice to see an optometrist closer to my age. Dr. Crowell took the time to explain my prescription and it seemed like the check-up was more thorough in finding the right prescription for me. He even recommended me a new brand of contacts that were much more comfortable than the ones I had worn for years. On the eyewear side, most of the brands are high-end fashion lines. Not being very stylish, it's always nice to get a female perspective. Rain was very helpful recommending frames that fit my face and even went as far as showing me additional styles online that they could order for me to try. Never have I ever been to an eye doctor who took such time and care in getting me the perfect prescription. Dr. Crowell really made an effort to finesse my prescription. He is really friendly and seems to really care about what he does. He told me that my left eye prescription was actually a bit too strong (either those carrots I've been inhaling lately are paying off, or I had the wrong prescription to start!) and made some great recommendations as to contact lenses and solutions to try out. He also didn't judge me for admitting that I usually wear my contacts way too long before tossing them! The office was really easy to work with as well. I ordered contacts through Lydia and she called my insurance to verify how much they would cover before I placed the order. Easy breezy! read more

If you're looking for more higher end eye wear than what the 'mall stores' carry, this is the place. They're good on carrying the newest lines from most of the top brands. To be on the safe side, call ahead and ask, then drop by the store to try them on or the tons of other shades that are on display as well. Prices are premium but you get what you pay for. Like my 5-star rating suggests this place is as good as it gets. One of the best selections in Seattle for frames and lenses. I have a rather hard prescription to get right and this is the only place that has ever gotten it correct on the first try, super high quality lenses. The frame I selected fits me perfectly, well actually Rain one of the opticians selected it, I never would have tried it on but I am so glad I did :-) I get complements on my glasses almost every day. Dr. Perriman is the best - I've been seeing her at this clinic and her previous one for over 3 or 4 years now, and I'd follow her anywhere....even to downtown Seattle where I have to battle for paid parking (one of my pet peeves despite being a city girl)! She's extremely smart, keeps up with the latest/greatest in the industry, and I completely trust her. I have a few ongoing conditions, because I wore my contacts 24/7 when I was younger and am basically allergic to everything, which she has tamed magically via daily contacts and a trio of eye drops. One stop shopping for everything for your eyes. Lenses, frames, even a sunglass shop downstairs although I'm not sure if they are connected. They can even hook me up with Latisse, which I am in love with, and I heard they are going to be doing injectibles soon, as well. I love Dr Lebar, and appreciate her thoroughness with my eye care. I recently took the train from Eugene, OR to Seattle, WA to take an exam for work. When I got on the train, the earpiece for my glasses broke off! Our hotel directed us to another eyeglass place where they were really quite snobby. They sent us walking 10 blocks away to another place that offered to try to sodder them for $60 if we came back in 4 hours...then we saw this place and gave it a try...all I wanted was a temp fix to get thru the weekend. ...optical glue and very friendly & helpful people were found at Seattle Eye. These guys had the perfect frames for me (right now) after looking around town for the better part of 5 months after breaking my #1 pair. I purchased in Novmeber when they were havin a half-off on lenses sale with the purchase of frames. I was able to get two pairs, reading & sunglasses for about $500. I am sick & tired of designers selling plastic frames for $400 or more. Their selection is a little more sporty oriented, I ended up choosing Oakley frames. The notable Oakley sunglass is awesome with perscription, with wrap around vision correction, it is with out peer (although it did take a little while to get used to). The staff was friendly & helpful, they made a mistake with my order & that delayed it ~2 weeks, but I wasn't going to complain too much given the deal I was getting & I still had a functional pair of glasses. I don't know anything about their eye exams or other services, as I went elsewhere first when my journey began. Hopefully someone else can review that. read more

The people here are just incredibly friendly. I'll be honest I have never purchased glasses from here because I can get pro deals BUT should I lose those deals I'll be sure to come here for my optometrist needs. The two times I have been here were to have my glasses adjusted so they wouldn't slide off my face and the other time was to have a screw replaced on my sunglasses. Both times the people were super friendly even though I was not buying anything and those services were free. Having given the place a glance they have a great selection of eye-wear from sheik to sporty and their Oakley collection is extensive. They carry more models than the Oakley store in Bellevue. I have a pair of Oakley glasses and love them. Should I need another pair I will defiantly come here because I know the customer service here rocks. read more

Unprofessional. I have bought glasses from the optical shop and that was a good experience so I went to the get by eyes checked at the doctor's office. I was prescribed 3 different eye drops for dry eyes. $200 later it was extremely painful to put the drops in my eyes and my eyes reacted to the drops by turning beet red. I called the doctor to discuss my reaction. The receptionist told me she could answer my questions for the doctor. This is not a professional practice and she was rude. The doctor called me back and was not alarmed at my experience with her office. I will not return. I have gone to another doctor to get a second opinion. read more
