    i want my edamame
    Roch B.

Locals aren't gonna like this review, and I get it. But here it is. Seasons Gastropub is a good concept but, with a touch of improvement, could be a good restaurant. I grabbed a chair behind the back of the bar looking into the main room (photo). Heather - great waitress (a touch of Sandra Bullock in THE BLIND SIDE) - was right there with a fresh and frosty IPA from a regional brewery. (3 Bells?) I had the EDAMAME - 3.5*. It comes from their "Japanese Kitchen". This kitchen handles the Sushi offerings. Nice big plate. Good quality and freshness. But it lacked seasoning and was slightly undercooked. No garlic. No seasoned salt that I could discern. Plus, they were served lukewarm temp. From the other kitchen came the JIVE TURKEY. Smoked turkey with colby cheese and bacon on a croissant. Sounds great, right? Almost. The turkey was smoked just right. But it was dry. And not a hint of BBQ sauce or chipotle. Plentiful FRENCH FRIES with a nice looking sear on them - but they were limp. When placing my order Heather told me the edamame and sandwich would probably come out at the same time and asked me if I was cool with that. Pro move for her to ask and I told her, no problem. But the edamame did come out before the sandwich. They rushed it. The turkey sat and dried out - and the fries went limp under a warming lamp. Look, the food is of good quality. They're just not giving it a chance to shine in prep. They're doing so many things for so many people they can't keep up. And this place is huge. Front dining area, back dining area, huge patio, side outdoor area. Not an easy task handling that amount of plated meals and drinks. Especially during dinner rush / 6:30P when I went. I told the hostess all this and she was remarkably cool and receptive to the feedback. Even going so far as to say; "I'm real glad to hear this. We can't get better if we don't get honest feedback and do something about it." Then we chatted a bit about the place - very nice lady. All the pieces are there. Just. Slow. Down.

We wandered into Seasons Gastropub in Morton at about 11:30 in the morning on a cold winter day in the middle of the week. Even though the place wasn't crowded we were greeted immediately and shown to our table. The waitstaff is prompt and friendly. Seasons counts BBQ among their specialties. Our pulled pork sandwiches and fries were yummy! In addition to the indoor bar and dining area, Seasons offers a large outdoor terrace as well. There are large overhead doors between the interior dining area and the terrace. In warm weather, with the big doors all the way open, Seasons Gastropub will be a fun destination: a charming restaurant, first rate service and tasty entrees.

I ordered the special of the day burnt ends grilled cheese. It sounded like an amazing combo, but I was underwhelmed by the blandness of the food and the back of burnt on the ends. The bbq inside of my sandwich lacked that crust that I've come to look for on burnt ends and bbq in general. I got the sweet potato fries for an additional $2, but when I received my food they were cold and nothing you couldn't get from the frozen secretion. The service was excellent! I would come here again for a beer but I would definitely pass on the food.

I come to this facility every weekend and the manager who is always working is very rude. He yells at his staff for having good customer service with the customers, but yet in a 2 hour time frame sat down at least 9 times. At least his staff aren't being lazy and have better customer service skills than he does.

We met up with some friends for dinner and thought we'd give Seasons a try. The food and beverages really helped make our night. First, they have a good selection of beverages - craft beers, ciders - and a full bar to meet all of your needs. We started with the cheese balls and found them to have the right balance of breading without tasting heavy with the oil from frying - almost more like an air fried approach. My husband heard they had good sushi. That felt like an interesting option at a place in Morton that has quite the menu of other types of foods. But we went for it and weren't disappointed. I had the Cado Roll with smoked salmon. The pieces were the appropriate size for consuming in one 'bite'. The flavor of the smoked salmon really gave a different and good taste to the roll. I also did the edamame appetizer. It didn't have a lot of flavor or seasoning but I'm a fan of getting a serving of veggies the easy way. My husband had the Volcano and Crunchy Yummy Rolls. He polished both off having a hard time deciding which was his favorite. This is definitely a restaurant worth trying, even when you don't live in Morton.

Extremely busy and loud during dinner but for good reason. Amazing sushi, some of the best quality rice and fish I have had, worth the wait and price for the Midwest - most of the sushi cost probably goes to shipping the fish 2500 miles and keeping it fresh. The Mexican roll is a must try, got a great hot bite and ingredients make it a real treat. The rest of the non-sushi menu looks real good too but it's unlikely I'll ever get to it with sushi this good. Who knew a small city American restaurant and bar could serve up better sushi than most sushi places!

Is Main Street a mainstay?…read more Word-of-mouth brought me and my dad to trying this place out on a cold and blustery Saturday morning. He had heard good things and I had heard the same so we figured to see what we thought of it. It wasn't too busy when we arrived and we were told to take a booth to our right. We sat down to a half-full but bustling restaurant. We got our menus and drinks promptly and started poring over the menu. My dad went with his usual country fried steak skillet-style meal and I went with a basic stack of pancakes and bacon. The vibe of the place was a generic blend of diner and family restaurant. Nothing really stood out to me that was unique besides this US Veterans table we were next to. I didn't get to snap a photo as they just cleaned it off and were about to sit down another group of people that just walked in. The waitress brought out our food and accidentally brought us a muffin instead of my bacon but was super quick to swap the two. Looking at my food and the price I paid and looking at my dad's food and the price he paid, I was instantly jealous he got so much more food for about the same price. The pancakes were large and plentiful compared to some places I've been and the bacon were long strips and not shriveled up and almost cooked too long. So why the mid rating? The waitress and staff overall weren't all that friendly. They weren't unpleasant by any means but the friendly chatting and banter you normally get at a restaurant was lacking here. There didn't seem to be a lot of mingling and cohesion to the staff that you see at most other restaurants. It was weird and if not a bit mechanical feeling. I'm not the most extroverted of people but a little bit of banter or chatting with the server is usually a plus. But most importantly is the food. How was it? Serviceable. The pancakes, even with the butter spread on it and plenty of syrup, were lacking a big punch of wow. Granted, it's just pancakes but I'd prefer to eat pancakes at a restaurant that don't feel like something I can make at home. The bacon was super tasty though. Just a bit disappointing that 3 strips were $3.99. My pops said he enjoyed his meal but it wasn't anything to write home about. I did try a small chunk of his country fried steak and it was decent, if not a bit overly crunchy/burnt on the steak portion. Overall, not a bad time with my dad but I just wish my meal wasn't lacking that punch for $12. I'd definitely come back and try a lunch item to see if that provides the oomph that eating out provides versus eating at home.

She recommended the Cuban Pulled Pork Sandwich. My sandwich was huge and contained a large portion of pulled pork meat. It was delicious and the homemade chipotle bbq mayo made it all the more satisfying with its rich smoky flavor! The Cuban-style black beans were right out of Miami! Very nicely prepared and included green peas, carrots, corn, and bell peppers, as well. My dining companion, for her part, ordered the Falafel platter, with a side order of gyro meat. The falafel (a dozen), were fresh, tasty, and just the right consistency. These were served with lettuce, onions, tomatoes, pita, and hummus. The side order of gyro meat featured a generous portion of decadently succulent lamb shavings and included two portions of homemade tzatziki sauce. Everything we ate was prepared to perfection and could easily compete with exceptional restaurants in Chicago! Yes, the food at One World is that good. As for the service, our waitress Quincy was friendly and professional. As for the ambiance and decor--we arrived ahead of the lunch crowd, so it was pretty quiet. The decor, however, is nicely done. The premises were clean and well maintained. Ditto the restrooms. The restaurant is actually huge. There are multiple dining areas and in the summer there is an outside patio behind the restaurant, as well. As for pricing and affordability--quality costs, and the food here is definitely a cut above. That being said, the owners have priced the entrees quite reasonably considering the generous portion-size and quality of the food. My overall opinion? If you want a dining experience worthy of comparison to the best Chicagoland has to offer, but don't want to make the long drive--or pay twice as much--then I highly recommend this little gem of a locally-owned restaurant in Peoria!

Second time coming back we brought the in-laws from our home town in Arizona. Keep in mind we are new here and excited to embrace this new city and all its food places just like this. It was a Tuesday night and they were busy, not so busy that we had to wait for a table, we got right in. The blond girl that was to be our server came to take our drink order. I was on the fence for a few items so I asked the server, "When the cooks in this place get a moment to themselves to enjoy a dish, which is it they usually get?" She assured me without a doubt it was not the burger I was comparing but the duck reuben. Being a fan of both duck and Reuben's I was like, " oh hell yeah, sign me up". So I replied I'll have the Reuben, mom got meatloaf, dad got the burger, wife got the poke bowl. We had a few drinks enjoyed each other's company and then our appetizers came, the cheese curds!! Holy smokes these were legit the star of the evening! If you go I recommend these! Our food came out after and we began to eat. This is the point it went south! The server all but vanished. Usually you can't get a bite in before your asked how is it? Well we needed silverware, napkins, salt and pepper, basic accoutrements. Nobody came. My Reuben..... BORING!! This was the smallest plate of food I've ever seen. The duck was overcooked and dry, there was not a good ratio of slaw to dressing to duck and it was lacked all the way around. I was hoping to ask for some more dressing to bring some life to it but the server never came. Mom wanted salt and pepper for her meatloaf, but the server never came. Finally I was able to get S&P from a busser! The poke bowl was kinda a joke as well, huge bowl of rice and peas and about 3 or 4 small bits of tuna. It was good but not balanced and completely underwhelming. Folks are boomers so yeah considering mom needed to help meatloaf says a lot. But still no server! Finally she came back with the bill. At which point I had to mention that this was by far the WORST Reuben I have EVER had!! She giggled. I said SERIOUSLY, that was wack AF, and you never came back to check on us so I couldn't even attempt a save by dousing it in dressing! She ignored that and disappeared, yup the shitty Reuben was still there on the bull and nobody cared! Moral of the story, you're gonna gamble here. I would love to try again but when you can get a Reuben at One World that blows it out of the water EVERYTIME for a fraction of the price I would second guess giving your money to this business. Bummer, I love the building, I love the ice cream factory throw back! And the ambience is super nice! Service and portioning need a lot more investigation. Hey owner this is your queue!! Make a positive change here.
