We came here on a busy weekend afternoon, thirsty as heck, for a quick drink. My gf ordered a flavored iced coffee and I wanted an iced tea. The tea came out extremely strong to the point where it was acidic and bitter. It seemed like the tea bags must had steeped in the dispenser all day and this was the end of that batch. The iced coffee was essentially a giant cup full of ice and we got the wrong flavor. We also got a muffin that seemed loaded with oils (definitely not butter) yet was super dry and crumbly. Ended up getting heartburn, yuck. On top of it, the 2 staff running things that day were somehow distracted and our order sat before us in the drive up window for a few minutes until someone finally came over and let us pay and go. All that, for two undrinkable drinks and a heartburn muffin. Totally underwhelming experience.

Generally, Sophie's is 5-stars, but: On our last visit, we overheard the person who was cooking/prepping sandos saying he'd make one more order before he left since he was already late. We were the "lucky" couple he stayed to serve. Translation - both of our orders were messed up. I'd ordered the Gardener, which was delivered without the avocado that is specifically listed on the menu, and which I wanted. My husband ordered the smoked salmon sandwich on an everything bagel, NOT toasted. His order included all of the elements, but the bagel was toasted. He hates warmed cream cheese, but did love the side of pita chips his came with. Still, the iced coffee was as good as usual (even in the off season) and the indoor space remained cozy, with several options for seating (high tops, low tops, and easy chairs). There are a few outdoor tables for when the weather is right. We've sat out there, and the plants around the entry patio really help create some distance from busy route 102 which is right out front of the deep driveway/parking area. I ordered a medium hot coffee with milk and sugar; perfection and fresh. A favorite menu item of mine is the Willow Tree Chicken Salad on a croissant with cheddar cheese; amazing as usual. Now the reason I gave them 5 stars was, they provided a bag and organized my items in an orderly fashion. We decided to stay and they brought out little paper plates to our table and asked us if we needed anything. The employees there were top notch customer service experts, they didn't have to do any of that; they greeted us when we first walked in and they said "have a great day" when we left. This transaction was all in a cheerful disposition; not common these days. The decor is your typical coffee shop; clean and cozy. Overall, definitely one of my fave HD's in Rhode Island.

The bread was very good too but I wish it was slightly toasted (next time). My drink was good. It was not sweet at all, which the cashier did prepare me for, but it still tasted good to me. The milk and coconut cold foam made it very creamy and the coconut flavor was very present throughout. We paid around $20 for the sandwich and two drinks which is fair. They have a drive thru window on the left side of the building, with the line wrapping around the back of the building, with plenty of parking in the front and back for dining in.
