Keywords: disappointing, overpriced, no service, never coming back Why I dislike this place: First of all, I must point out the biggest problem of this restaurant--too much Instagram marketing. I wouldn't mind if the quality of the food and service of the staff fit the expectation that Season's instagram strategy has created. But, what I have experienced (in addition to 1-hour queue outside of the restaurant) was the bad quality of food and 0-service. In terms of the food: 1. the pancake was dry as a sponge. In terms of the service: 1. we ordered two oatmeal bowls, the staff brought only one bowl to our table and said "we run out of oats, so you can just share." I mean, what??!! Without our consent, they just changed the order?? 2. I suppose because the restaurant was EXTREMELY CROWDED, nobody came to our table and checked whether the food was okay. Suggestions: if you can't serve and satisfy customers' needs, don't take and serve MANY customers at the same time! Improving the food quality and maintaining the restaurant's service is the key point. Instead of spending time and putting effort on Instagram marketing, Season should really focus on its employees training to fit the customer expectation.

Salmon avocado toast

Hmm ... Ok so not sure how anyone can mess up Salmon Avocado Toast ... Salmon: OK it's raw. I was expecting it to be smoked since Paris is known for its smoked salmon. Dressing: here comes the weird part. It had white sesame seeds, sesame oil, vinaigrette, some paprika. Underneath raw salmon, was the cream cheese. (Or was it goat cheese) OK, someone tell me what the heck am I eating? I was thinking was I missing wasabi or ginger, or benedict sauce, or what is it?! Anyway, I regretted not searching for regular bakery store nearby for authentic French Bakery. Should of, could of, would of. Two stars for Fluent Enlgish waiters and cute decor. Next !

Green Pancakes

A friend of mine suggested this place so I first checked on insta what they had on the menu. I personally feel that the time for poached eggs is over (why so many restaurants in Paris have them in so many different dishes goes beyond my understanding), but the green pancakes looked really really tasty on all posts. So, as I was feeling in a sweet mood, that's what I ordered. They tasted good and I liked the overall presentation, fruits and pecan nuts. The syrup should have been served on the side. . . even though I do love sweet things, I like to adjust the measure myself. I would have preferred more fruits, less syrup. I am pretty sure that the pancakes had been prepared a while ago and micro-waved just before serving (the edges were a little too hard to be totally fresh, pancakes should be much fluffier). I still liked them and they were pretty filling. Not sure I'd order them again. Next time I would probably rather have a savoury dish like my friend's quinoa salad with avocado and chicken. It was delicious. We had ordered the bigger portion, which is huge and good to share. The druid tea was tasty and I liked the sand-clock for the individual tea-infusion time. The infusions. . . they're ok, just a little fancy and difficult to use. I have tasted the thyme infusion and have actually dismantled the whole twig to unleash the essential oils and flavour of the thyme. Service is friendly, don't hesitate to ask for help if they don't serve you straight away. Once you order, it is quite fast. Voila, all in all, I liked my visit a lot. They open late, which is great! We did see a little mouse running along the heaters, in the dark corners. . . I suppose all restaurants in Paris have them at some point, but it's obviously best not to see them and/or run into them ;-)

We were expecting good things. Delicious things. Scrumptious things. We were disappointed. The food, while clever in design, was not good. When it arrived i was underwhelmed with both the look and then the taste. Some of it was burned ... the bbq cauliflower was uninspired and over done. The roasted avocado was overpowered by the sauce and the poached egg was touch and over cooked. The sweet potato chips were overcooked. Most of the tables dishes arrived warm almost room temp. Even the coffee was bitter.

We got greeted by 3 smokers blocking the door and one of them sat us (kind of rudely). Seemed as though we were the first customers. They were either cleaning from the day before or night before so it was a bit of an odd atmosphere. Food was actually pretty good, husband had the avo toast and I had the green (moringa) pancakes. Not the best latte art, (wasn't worth a picture) but taste was good. Overall great tasting breakfast, just needed to work on the service a little.

Super delicious place! It lives up to the hype. I'm hoping to come back here again this week. I had to try the salmon tartine as well as the caramel pancakes because I couldn't decide between one or the other. The menu is pretty large but everything still tastes good and fresh!!! Definitely recommend stopping here while in Paris. Cute interior as well. Good wait times for food. And come here on a week day and you won't have to wait that long for a table as you would on a weekend.

Cute cafe, nice menu selection. Definitely enjoyed the Cool Kid muesli bowl! The purple latte was also very good, the quality of cream/milk used here is much better than what I'm used to in the states. I did try the instagrammable green pancakes but I cannot say they tasted like anything special. They were very bland actually. Breakfast is my favorite meal of the day so with pancakes... maybe throw in some (or more) butter. Wish I had time to try other items but either way I'd definitely recommend coming here and please get here early as this place is known for 2hr waits. Unless you're solo of course!

We go back to season a lot, and i remember the first time we went with my friends, it was around a few weeks after they firstly opened. We were blown away, the proportions were amazing and the prices very reasonable. But as we came back throughout the years, the prices have gone up and the proportion down, which makes me kind of disappointed. It is still a very nice place and we still come back. It's just a bit sad how fame can change a place...

Quinoa salad + chicken

The food was AMAZING! It did take a while to order, but it was totally worth it. Vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options. Sweet, savoury & super sweet foods and also good drinks and teas, coffees,... A typical 'instagramable spot'

Lovely breakfast of gluten free avocado toast and a huge fruit salad

Not sure why this place has such negative reviews because we had nothing but a wonderful experience here. We even came back for breakfast the next day :) My boyfriend and I are both gluten free vegans. Not only did we eat like kings here but the avocado toast was one of the best. The side fruit salad was huge and the fresh juices were delish. We will definitely be back the next time we are in Paris.

I really wanted to like Season because of the healthy, veggie vibes I was seeing posted all around social media, but it was a bit disappointing. I had a granola bowl with fromage blanc, shared the green pizzette with a friend, and ordered one of their green juices. The granola was good, but granola should be good. The pizzette was underwhelming, and wasn't served hot so the cheese was quite solid. The juice had the most horrible aftertaste, so we asked the waiter if we could switch for something else, which thankfully she was ok with (she was really lovely!). They don't have a brunch formula, so the whole meal ended up being quite expensive for what we ended up getting in the end. There are better places in Paris for a healthy "feel-good" kind of brunch.

Really healthy and fresh menu. Avocado toast, spring rolls, etc. Open, airy space. You can also go with a friend for tea and cake.

A few other parties trickled in through the course of our meal. The menu has many appealing dishes but after narrowing everything down, GF ordered the onion soup and seitan bourguignon. I ordered a vegan "roast" with the side of potatoes. I'm not going to bullshit you, nobody is going to confuse this onion soup for the real deal but once you get past that, it was absolutely excellent. You're hearing this from someone who doesn't like onions or beef broth. I wanted to just try it but ended up funneling half of it down my gullet. The roast was pretty good, as were the potatoes and what I assume was a creamy cauliflower "salad" like side. It was nothing earth shattering but enjoyable and I really appreciated having a vegan meal considering the vast majority of the offerings in this city. Regarding the beef bourguignon, GF says: "it was very tasty". I will add that the service was...just ok. It was pretty quick and prompt but in stark contrast to the welcoming and friendly service received elsewhere in the city.

On the other hand, it made me realize that my mother was a terrible cook. Bistro des Augustins is a small, cozy venue offering both indoor seating and terrace seating near Pont Neuf. It serves a small number of curated dishes, including a wonderfully traditional Bistro Gratin in a homey ceramic dish served piping hot with a brown crispy cheesy top, herbs, spices and chicken. You can also get it with salmon. My brothers and I only saw my mother use our gas range to light her cigarettes, sanitize needles to remove our splinters, and make s'mores during the summer months when she couldn't muster the energy to take us 'outside camping.' I mean, all she had to do was borrow a cookbook, which I'm sure were readily available from maybe a neighbor or in any local bookstore or the public library. How hard is that? I was the only kid who brought a can of tuna and his own monogrammed can opener to school every day. Every day. And mom convinced me that the tuna holster she got me for my birthday was cool and hip. I was a naive mercury-filled fool, although I did become a very fast runner in junior high school because of the tuna holster. The interior décor of Bistro des Augustins is informal and vintage bistro style - wooden tables, traditional chalkboard menus, and soft lighting - creating a relaxed and comfy ambiance. My eyes have been opened to what's possible. Thank you Bistro des Augustins for expanding my culinary horizons. Five stars.

THE FOOD ------------------…read more= Fermier - Cheese gratin with chicken was good. Didn't blow me away, but was solid with the creaminess of the sliced potatoes and emmental cheese combined together with mixed vegetables. The cheese was very strong though, so anything else was unfortunately pretty much overpowered by it. Arrived with bread, but it DEFINITELY could use other carb options to sop it all up (e.g., rice???)! = Landais - Cheese gratin with duck. Same comment as the above, except the Landais had egg and goat cheese also mixed in with almost the same ingredients as the Fermier. THE SERVICE ----------------------- + The lone waitress, who also worked the role as greeter, cashier and bartender was friendly. + Food arrived within 10 minutes of ordering. THE SURROUNDINGS ------------------------------------ = Small, tight restaurant. = Not many tables inside - 6 in total. + Located a few blocks away from the more touristy restaurants, towards the East, on a much quieter street. The menu may be a bit confusing, but our server cleared up any questions. (a la carte vs prix fixe) We started with a complimentary terrine with gherkins and onions which were delicious. I had the Brittany scallops in a pesto and citrus dressing topped with parmigiana reggiano - absolutely amazing! Mains were the braised beef cheeks which were melt in your mouth and a tender roasted veal. The smoothest puréed potatoes and a crispy potato gaufrette were perfect accompaniments. The richness of the flavor and the texture which is not reminiscent of the traditional roasted duck or foie gras, but rather a much more like a luxurious and indulgent version. We enjoyed our dinner on the outside of the restaurant after about a 20-30 minute wait. The bone marrow had the best flavor I've experienced for the dish. However, it is definitely overshadowed by the rich flavor of the foie gras. This experience was unforgettable, with our view of Parisian streets on a brisk, April night. We even came back on our last night, but didn't realize the hours on Google maps was for the deli. The restaurant closes earlier, before 9:00 PM. They had a number of goods to choose from and I ended up buying a few things for souvenirs. As for the actual restaurant, they had a number of delicious sounding items on their menu. Our server was very attentive to us and helped us decide on our dinner orders. Similar to the other restaurants though. After our food was delivered, it was far in between when we were checked on again. And after dessert it took even longer for our server to bring the bill. Overall, the food was a letdown. I do not exaggerate when I say that the frog legs just tasted like slightly flavored water. My friend's ravioli had a fairly decent flavored sauce but the pasta was a bit chewy. My friend's duck breast was pretty tough; I had noticed the table next to us also ordered it and they seemed to have trouble finishing/cutting theirs as well. As for my steak with foie gras, well the steak was once again tough and the foie gras was weirdly stringy. It was soft for the most part but there were parts that were tough and stringy. Maybe that's a section that's generally separated in the preparation process and it was missed? In any case it was disappointing. What wasn't disappointing was dessert though; perfectly sweet and balanced.
