We got creme brûlée which was delicious! The creme part was flavorful:) The waitress was so sweet and kept refilling our water bottles and gave us a cup of ice due to the heat. Overall perfect spot to eat some dessert and people watch. read more

this is the best food I have had in months. Their creme brulee was amazing. defiantly recommend.

If I'm ever stuck inside because of rain, sleet, or zombie apocalypse, I want it to be at this cafe. Service in Europe can often be slower than some Americans might expect, but the upside of this is that they will let you sit under their awning for hours, sipping wine and nibbling at one cheese and meat plate that is delicious, and more than enough for THREE of you to have for dinner. Le Café, with their bright yellow awning, comfortable seating, and friendly (if inattentive) service, is the ideal spot to drink too much wine as you wait out a rainstorm. My friends and I loved Le Cafe! We happened to stumble in during their happy hour and were pleasantly surprised with some special drink choices at fair prices. The cafe itself is very small, narrow and filled with cool items like globes, planes, various travel items. The cafe was quaint but quite popular, packed to the brim with a wait. We had the most handsome older gentleman as our server, very George Clooney-esque. Plus he was incredibly nice, shooting pictures for us from various angles. Honestly, the ambiance was everything you'd want in a Parisian cafe. Happy Hour is from 4-7pm and cocktails during Happy Hour were 6 Euros. I had a Vodka Red Bull, one friend had a mojito and the other had champagne for 8 Euros. I ordered eggs & mayo (oeuf dur en coquille) to eat which is apparently a staple on European menus but something you'd never see in the states. I wasn't sure what to expect but it truly was eggs and mayo. Three brown hard boiled eggs came out with a cup of mayo. I wasn't too sure how to eat the dish but peeled the eggs and dipped them a bit in gooey stuff. It became a trip joke how long it took me to peel my eggs to eat them. I ended up with a mess on my plate of yolks which I pretty much skipped and the mayo mixture...but I liked it! Our bill was 47.50 Euros for the egg dish, a curry my friend ordered (13;50 Euros) and 5 drinks. We had a great time and would highly recommend Le Cafe to others looking for a slightly less touristy experience while in Paris. read more

We just spent four days in Paris, and we ate at Le Cafe three of those four (we would have eaten there on the fourth day, but they closed early for New Year's Eve)! The food was excellent, and the atmosphere was charming, but most of all Sebastian the owner is a wonderful guy -- very friendly and patient! We had our first and last dinners in Paris at Le Café. We stopped in the first time because we got in to town late, and few kitchens were still open. We came back the second time because it was so good! The food was delicious and the service was friendly. My "salade" was certainly unexpected as it was loaded with bacon, prosciutto, and potatoes, and served with roasted honey cheese. A full hearty meal. The second time, I had a savory pie that was also delicious. The menu was interesting and the food impressive while still being a casual, relaxed place. read more

I've been trying the cafes in the general rue Montorgueil area for the past week and a half. Le Café has been my favorite so far. Had the Petit Déjeuner. Ordered a "grand café" which I've seen listed other places as "double expresso." Also got the fresh-squeezed orange juice and a chocolate croissant. Everything was excellent. The coffee was the best so far as well. I sat at a sidewalk table and had the space to myself as it was early in the morning. The streets were quiet, too, so I recommend going early. read more

Bad Bad Bad place !!! It used to be a nice spot with a nice cheap rough french snacks and salad but it turned out to be a pain today. First the manager wasn't paying any attention when we make our order and then while we're finishing our last sip of the wine tranquilly and asking for the bill, the waiter Ben wanted to please some girls and asked if we can move our table aside so he can pull two tables together for the girls. We asked we just about to leave so he doesn't need to rush us for the table, but before we can react, Ben has already pulled our table away despite our will. What a lousy way to finish a nice evening for the clients ! Scandal ! We went in to talk to the manager and of course has been treated lousily as well. We've been living in Paris since more than 20 years and this is the first robbery experience by a restaurant. So no need to go to this place at all !!! read more

This is a great brunch place. We came here around 11 and had a ham and cheese sandwich, which in true French fashion was to die for. The cappuccino was also quite good. The waiter was doing a wonderful job of balancing all the people there. He was friendly but curt. We are Americans; one speaks no french and the other a little but rusty. He was sweet in helping us and provided a menu in English. Not snobby about our not speaking French at all and very welcoming. This feels like a very residential area/cafe many people came in and knew the waiter. Very safe, we watched many people come in and leave their things laying around without a second glance. It was a beautiful sunny day and it was cozy to sit here and enjoy the atmosphere. I recommend it for an easy morning. read more

Walking back from Eiffel Tower to our hotel (no, it's not really close to the Eiffel at all), we stumbled onto this place. Lots of younger folk having beer. Really bums me out that there seems to be a good-sized group of beer drinkers in France, but the varieties tend to be Belgian blondes and browns for options. Makes me want to pull up stakes and start a brewery...but I digress. Nice, small cafe with a sort of divey ambiance. Affligem blonde, Pelforth, and I think Hoegarden on tap. Big glasses. Maybe 20 oz? Best price for a beer during happy hour that I had in France the whole two weeks I was there. Kids had hamburgers and fries. Wife and I had the La Cafe Salad, which came with potatoes, salad, pieces of bacon and an egg that I believe had been cracked and dropped into boiling water. The yolk split over everything when I poked it. Excellent. Nice staff. Spoke English well and were kind and funny. I dig all the crazy electronic music you hear in French restaurants. read more

I happened to stop here when I saw that they had Berthillon ice cream which is the best in my opinion. I also had a pint and the French burger. I cannot tell you how amazing that burger was. I couldn't stop eating even if I was full. The cafe is small and not that interesting but it's worth for a pit stop. I did have a small misunderstanding about the pricing but that was probably my poor French. Go here and have the burger and have a salted caramel ice cream! read more

The owners are super nice, great service, free wifi, I got the cheese omelette and it was the best cheese I've ever tasted (I'm from Canada). The fresh OJ was great to start my afternoon off, good portions for the price. Highly recommend travellers to stop by here! read more
