Le Parisien was the dinner choice of the evening due to its proximity to our hotel and the vegetarian offerings. We elected to sit outside which may have been a mistake due to the weather and my inability to properly plan for weather but it provided some decent people watching. There are QR code menus on the table but they are only in French and do not contain a drink menu. We were given paper menus with English descriptions and drinks at our request. To drum up the ol' appetite, GF started with an old fashioned and I one of the selections from the drink menu, the bonne maman which may be a real drink but nothing I have ever heard of prior. Looking it up, it is a French jam. It may or may not be what I ordered but it was perhaps a touch too sweet but at least it went down easily. For the solids, I ordered a vegetarian salad with a bunch of veggies and a very light, freshing sauce over a bed of quinoa. Other than the onions, this was very tasty and I didn't hate myself after eating it. I just may shit this week because of this meal in between all of the cheese (of which you are about to get a glimpse) and pastries. GF ordered the croque monsieur which comes with fries and a salad. As a vegetarian, I did could only sample a small corner of the sandwich that did not have a slice of ham and it was INCREDIBLE. The bread was toasty but that cheese combo on the bread was heaven. The fries were also pleasantly crispy. We haven't been absolutely bathing in cheese yet on this trip so we ordered their cheese plate and, as GF put it, "they really cleaned out their fridge for us". I have never seen a cheese plate like this before. It was a straight up plate entirely covered in different cheeses. It was so much cheese we couldn't finish it but don't think we didn't try. The cheese was amazing, it was a really nice variety of hard and soft cheeses and went excellently with the French bread with which it was served. A random man, about our millennial age, came up to us and literally asked us for a small piece of the bread from our bowl. It was strange and if this means something, please fill me in. We were disappointed when we found out Chez I' Ami Louis closed on a Tuesday. So we walked a few blocks from there and found a good alternative at a cafe called Le Parisien. Since it was cold outside I went with the ultimate winter cocktail of "Irish Coffee" (6.90). Served warm, and with a stir the heavy whipped cream into the whiskey to sweetened it up, it kept me relaxed with my meal. "Gratinee Oignon" (8.50). I'm a fan of French onion soups and the way they make it here didn't disappoint, it was comforting. I really like the caramelized onions within the flavorful broth, and the melted golden brown cheese on the top was pretty good. "Croque Parisien" (14.00). I've probably had something similar to this, but this here was like having ham and cheese sandwich on steroids, it's pretty thick between the loafs of bread. It's topped with lots of arugula and gives it some bitterness. Overall, this Croque will keep you full. Their menu is in French, and our waitress was helpful in describing what the items are in English. They do have a kids meal as well. WiFi is free here, however only they put in their secret password in your phone for you, to ensure its not a free for all around the restaurant. If you need a random stop to eat, Le Parisien is it. read more

Great French cafe near Vernon train station. Price is reasonable and food was very good. I got petite steak with side of fries and salad, served with choice of sauce. The shallot sauce was divine and fresh bread served in the side was soft on the inside and crispy on the outside. it was probably one of the better meals we had. We also got croque madame which was cooked with generous amount of butter and cheese, topped with sunny side up egg. With a glass of wine the whole meal came out to be 30 euros. Nice restaurant with good food and reasonably priced. Staff were friendly. Very light on tourists and felt nice to dine at this place without hearing a bunch of loud Americans nearby. The do have music some evenings which is nice and also serve breakfast fairly early in the morning. Would go back for sure! read more

Just ordered 2 coffees to go, was surprised at the quality of the coffee and was lucky enough to have a barista that spoke English. I was prepared to attempt to order in French, regardless! The barista even helped me not pick the wrong sweetener, he pointed out the sugar. read more

It was cold and we had nowhere to go. We sat there because the décor looked nice. The menu is not that interesting, and the cheese plate very boring. Prices are standard, like any cafe really. One good point, I like the design of their menu. read more

Excellent meal at Le Parisien during my last night in Paris! I was staying at a hotel near with my coworker for a business trip. It was in a some what trendy district and he suggested this was a nice place. We were only a 5 minute walk away. We came during the normal hours of American dinner, at around 6:30pm but there was barely any customers dining. It is considered early for dinner in France but it started filling up super quickly until later into our meal past 7:00pm. Service was a little slow, maybe because we were Americans, but the table next to us came in after and finished their entire meal and left even before we got our entrees... We started with French bread and the French take their bread so seriously--it was honestly the best bread I've had in my life. I had the vegetarian special which was not very memorable but it was grilled vegetables that were super fresh, and I also had a side of french fries. I love the way how the French serve ketchup in tiny glass bottles. It was tasty and decadent and the perfect portion. Also had a glass of Rose wine along with it and it was très bien. Aside from the service, the food was great and the ambiance was too. It was full of locals having a great time and it was only Thursday! I will probably be back the next time I am in Paris. read more

What a cute place, and very close to the Musee d' Orsay where we made plans to spend the day. We made a point to come early so we could enjoy a nice quiet breakfast before the museum opened. We walked a few blocks to get out of the tourist district and to have some real Parisian food. We had a great breakfast for 4 of us, wonderful service and great food. we each enjoyed our coffee before heading to the museum. On the walk back to the museum we stopped in a couple of shops got some wonderful treats for the rest of our day. read more

I rarely review but this place was worth reviewing. We were visiting Paris from the states and this place was close to our Airbnb apartment. The food was excellent...so good we decided to go back twice. Even better than that was the staff. We speak little French but each server we had and the very nice blonde girl behind the counter spoke English and explained the menu and helped us with directions. read more

Great addition to our hood! Beautifully designed restaurant with a perfect mixture of wood, chrome and neon. Yummy food - french with some Spanish inspiration. Chunky gazpacho with more bite than you are used to here in Paris and excellent chicken. Charming staff and a mixed interesting and friendly crowd. All that you want from a great local! Wonderful food. I had the fish special, my son the fish and chips and my hubby the beef tartare. All of it was excellent. My french is 5th grade at best and they put me out of my misery by explaining the menu. They also recommended excellent drinks as well. read more
