Sea bass with dill mayonnaise and tomato salad
    Bob M.

Seaside was an overall terrific dining experience. The restaurant has a nice outdoor seating area, as well as a beautiful indoor setting with floor to ceiling windows and a very modern, comfortable, and casual ambience. The service was attentive and friendly, and the food was excellent. I had the sea bass, which was outstanding. The skin was delightfully crisp and the flesh was perfectly cooked. I also enjoyed the tomato salad and the octopus starter. Everything I had was delicious. Seaside is an excellent seafood restaurant and a nice change of pace from the traditional currywurst, schnitzel, and pig knuckle fare.

Delicious food - lovely fresh fish, perfect creme brulee - superb service and very nice ambience. I picked this restaurant with the help of Yelp! reviews because it was closed to my hotel, and I was not disappointed - in fact I was delighted. Strongly recommended!

When in Berlin, this is a must. Great tasting fresh fish. Second time here and they were every bit as good as the first time. Octopus salad and monkfish was my selection this time. Amazing!!

Good place for fresh seafood. We tried German beer for the first time; the alster (draft beer with lemonade) was pretty good. Ceviche: they overdone themselves on the lemon; at least the sauce was good for bread dipping We had trout (it was massive), redfish, and Oysters. Everything tasted very fresh. We also had sides like oven roasted veggies, roasted Russell potatoes, potato salad that weren't a hit. The presentation and taste of the latter was unexpected (compared to American potato salad). Service was weirdly slow but we had great company! Decor was nice and they opened the windows to allow air circulation

    Risotto, bad.

3.0 stars This place would have got 4.4 stars if the fish person did not bait and switch on us. We looked the the price of the fish and point to the piece 9€/100g we have in mind then she quote a much more expensive price. We are from US so we are not sure how much is 100g. When we go sit at our table after order, we figured we were bait and switch. We walk back and ask why the price was $27 for a small piece of fish, then she said the price is indeed 17€/100g which is not the price listed. Shrimp and salad tasted good. Risotto is very bad. The taste is so wrong. Shrimp is grills so that is ok. Fish and chip is fine.

Kyle H. and I stumbled across this restaurant when we realized that we spent too much time sight-seeing and it was too late to travel to another neighborhood to eat. We saw all the outdoor seating which is what sold us. This is obviously a seafood restaurant, so I tried to keep an open mind to any sides that could be veggie friendly. You order drinks from your server, and then order main dishes inside at the counter. For most people, that would include looking at the fresh seafood selections and choosing how many pounds you want. Kyle opted for a cut of fresh salmon. Luckily, they had a menu full of sides, with many of them labeled with a leaf to mark it as vegetarian. I went for their roasted potatoes and vegetables, with a side salad. I (timidly) told them I was vegan, but they were very nice and didn't give me any trouble and made sure there wouldn't be any butter or cheese in my dish. The meal was very simple but still tasty. Kyle thoroughly enjoyed his dish. We loved our refreshing beer and our server was very nice and didn't rush us even though we arrived a little later in the evening. As other reviewers mentioned, this is a very expensive restaurant and we were a bit shocked at how much the cut of salmon cost, but agreed that we were paying for quality. Overall, this is a very nice restaurant with great atmosphere and food. Just keep that budget in mind when choosing how big a cut you want that fish to be!

Our hotel recommended this place. We were looking to have dinner, outdoor seating, preferably fish. We arrived here. The place was great, the staff super friendly, the environment: I loved it, you order your seafood inside (they only have fresh fish) and I really like that you can see first what you are going to eat. The cooking was very good, the sides were good too and the prices were accordingly. Great location too!

I was torn between a 4 and 5 rating but the service pushed me straight to 5! Extraordinary restaurant that delivers a quality meal in a classy but not pretentious atmosphere. Once you are seated and have ordered drinks, you make your way to the seafood bar to view the catch of the day. Fish, lobster, oysters, scallops - it changes every day. The lady working the counter is very helpful and enjoys her job. I ordered half dozen fresh oysters to start and boy were they fresh. This batch coming in from France were full of salt water and delicious. Accompanied by lemon and onion vinegar. The Bloody Mary I tried was good but I prefer them spicy so you will need to ask for more spice. Otherwise it compliments the oysters well. The true star was the lobster soup, not a creamy bisque but a rich soup. All you taste is lobster. It was one of the best lobster soups I have ever had. There are chunks of lobster along with a big lobster ravioli inside. Divine!! Lastly, Connie, my server was amazing. She was knowledgeable, friendly and her English was great. I felt comfortable as a solo diner. Ambiance was a bit romantic but overall a comfortable place for a delicious meal. Treat yourself and come here!

Seaside is located on Mohrenstr, I called here after passing it numerous times due to its location within close proximity of the Hilton hotel, in which I was staying during my time in Berlin. I called here on two separate occasions for my evening meal in the German capital. On my first visit, I was originally told I couldn't get a table and I would have to come back, late in the evening, just before they closed but they could cater for my gluten free/coeliac diet, the staff seemed really friendly and spoke good English, so I ended up coming back. The approach of this place is quite interesting yet confusing, where you order drinks and certain food with your waitress, yet order sides and fresh food at the counter, so you can go up and pick you fish etc, I do like this approach but it is really confusing especially if two people in one party want different things, as was the case with my friend wanting fish and chips, and I wanted fresh fish, I ended up opting for halibut on both occasions. As mentioned, the staff did seem really nice, however the service appeared to be very slow on my second visit. I did find the selection of gluten free sides to be slightly disappointing, with the only option being rosemary potatoes rather than the chips, which honestly didn't taste too great sadly, albeit the presentation of the fish and chips on both occasions was excellent with two sauces: some form of fresh tartar sauce and a seafood sauce, and also some sea-salt. My halibut was of a good quality, especially on my first visit, but on the second visit, it was less so of a good quality which was a shame, to the point I ended up leaving half of it. This place did seem popular, as on both occasions it seemed busy and fully-booked, as for my first visit I did have to make a reservation and come back, and for my second visit I was also lucky to get a table as the server forgot to put my booking through, luckily he was working on the night or I wouldn't have ended up getting a table, he did seem friendly enough but this mistake of not getting a table could have been rather expensive and frustrating for me, having made a reservation to the best of my knowledge. I'm struggling in terms of reviewing Seaside mainly down to two different experiences, one was very good and gave me the feel of freshness, they also did a fresh iced tea of a reasonable quality, the prices are okay yet, of course, it is slightly high-end for the nature of the place, for example a full halibut would have ended up costing around 35 euros, compared to my portion which would have been okay with a side at around 15 euros, which you can see in the pictures I have uploaded. I feel due to the freshness of the place, knowledge of gluten free and the fact the staff speak good English, this place has just scraped a three-star rating, yet still, I can't help but feel that is of a generous nature for this place.

We were looking for fresh fish and came upon Seaside. Amazing food. You choose your fish at the counter and they cook it for you. We had the halibut and swordfish. The sides, salad , spinach and fries. So fresh . Good wine menu . Very friendly staff. Helped us plan a trip to Potsdam the next day. Very English speaking friendly.

Just looking for a snack while walking and shopping, I stopped in and tried the roasted cauliflower (uniquely garnished with grapefruit) and was so impressed that I came back again, this time I had the mussels risotto. Both were fantastic! I'll be back for dinner next visit - the fish is fresh and the rest of the menu looks equally appetizing!

(Variety is the spice of life and Norwegian cuisine in this part of town: the daily specials change every day and don't repeat week after week.) There are three types of dishes to choose from: meat, fish, or vegetarian. I've always been happy with their fish dish of the day--it's a Scandinavian restaurant after all. For under €7, you can enjoy a decently sized piece of fish cooked to tender perfection, along with some vegetables on the side and a bread basket. It's a balanced meal that you'll find little to complain about.

The walk from the Yourkstraße station was't too bad, and from downtown that's only 2-3 stops and a quick ride. Your best be is to make a reservation; we didn't and they only had two non-reserved tables; luckily we got there early and snagged one, but if we'd gotten there a little later we might not have. Munch's is on the higher end of casual; I felt okay in jeans and a Henley shirt, but the service and atmosphere is a little higher class. Service was friendly, and pretty typical pace for Germany. Menus were only in German though, so if you don't read it, make sure you have Google Translate handy! My wife's salmon and potatoes was excellent; perfectly cooked and with a good salmon taste (but not an overly fishy taste). I went with the moose, which I've not had in years. The portion size of the moose meat was a touch small, but the quality was high (not too gamey and not over cooked) and the potatoes, chestnuts, and lingonberries together tasted great and filled me up. Overall a good meal, and one we'd happily repeat.

(Carbs, carbs, meat, with a side of vegetables? Count me in--as long as you hold the tomatoes and throw in some extra grease for good measure.) So when it comes to fish and chips, I expect something equally as unhealthy and delicious. Dare I say even more unhealthy and delicious, as everything in this quintessentially British meal is meant to be fried. So maybe I was just barking up the wrong tree because I should've just hopped on a cheap Easyjet from Schönefeld instead of ordering a chippy in this corner of Prenzlauer Berg. After reading the other Yelp reviews, I realize that the most confusing thing about Der Fischladen for a first-time diner is that the side shop with the fish counter--the most intuitive place to enter--is devoid of atmosphere. And the other confusing thing? The meal itself. The fish in question was devoid of flavor because I couldn't taste the batter, though it was certainly tender. (A tad too tender, if you ask me though, as I questioned whether it was a little undercooked.) The chips seemed like frozen fries from a local supermarket and the ketchup tasted too much like curry ketchup for my liking, though I saw a later diner request what must've been normal ketchup from the server. Maybe we should just let British pubs do what they do best instead. And to be fair, it seems like Der Fischladen's specialities are actually the fish market on the side and all of the other fish dishes so the verdict is still out when it comes to the healthier seafood options.

We had the dish and wine as a recommendation and they left us the time to discuss the options. We got complimentary baguette style bread with aioli which was absolutely amazing, we had to slow down in order to not overeat. The wine was on spot and we had it almost all done by the time the main arrived. Unfortunately that took a little longer but like I said this is laid back and not for the rushed type. The anchovies were absolutely great. They were spot on, crispy without being dry and served with just a lemon to squeeze over everything. The main was a little disappointing. While all was good, it just was not great. We essentially got soup which we didn't expect. The fish however was great quality and so were all the other ingredients. I think our expectations and what we got just didn't align in this one. The price was okay, maybe a little high. We had a 35 EUR wine and paid a little over 75 EUR. So, it was okay, but since we shared on main, I feel this was on the higher end. All in all, I would say bring time and stick to the Tapas and you and your company are in for a great dinner experience! For us, we miscalculated our time and had to rush out after the main to make it to the classic concert we had bought tickets for the previous day. So, we just couldn't lavish in the atmosphere and take time with everything. Also, I planned on proposing to my girlfriend/dinnerpartner that night so I was kind of antsy I would say.
