Great little restaurant just off the busy sections of town. In a dinner gone array, we made the best of it with help of staff and good spirit. What we ordered: Esporao white wine, dry Tapas fried anchovies boquerones Mokfish Cataplana The atmosphere of the place is definitely laid back and chill. You should budget st least 2+ hours for a dinner there. You don't want to rush and it is not a place you would like to do that either. The staff is very patient and friendly. We had the dish and wine as a recommendation and they left us the time to discuss the options. We got complimentary baguette style bread with aioli which was absolutely amazing, we had to slow down in order to not overeat. The wine was on spot and we had it almost all done by the time the main arrived. Unfortunately that took a little longer but like I said this is laid back and not for the rushed type. The anchovies were absolutely great. They were spot on, crispy without being dry and served with just a lemon to squeeze over everything. The main was a little disappointing. While all was good, it just was not great. We essentially got soup which we didn't expect. The fish however was great quality and so were all the other ingredients. I think our expectations and what we got just didn't align in this one. The price was okay, maybe a little high. We had a 35 EUR wine and paid a little over 75 EUR. So, it was okay, but since we shared on main, I feel this was on the higher end. All in all, I would say bring time and stick to the Tapas and you and your company are in for a great dinner experience! For us, we miscalculated our time and had to rush out after the main to make it to the classic concert we had bought tickets for the previous day. So, we just couldn't lavish in the atmosphere and take time with everything. Also, I planned on proposing to my girlfriend/dinnerpartner that night so I was kind of antsy I would say. The restaurant is located just a few steps from the Double Tree by Hilton Hotel. Our group of 4 ordered the Seafood Paella, Gambas in garlic sauce, Serrano Ham, Sopa de Mariscos. The food is mediocre at best and a little too oily for my taste. The pluses are the service and the ambiance. read more

It was ok in my opinion. Fish soup: fish was fresh, portion was small. Price value is off. Taste wise more tomatoy like an Italian tomato soup. Crab sticks: nice crunch, it's not crab meat from the claw but more stuffed, mushed meat. I'd order that again Seezunge: price value off. Would skip next time. Sepia: not bad, four pieces but nothing special really also skip Paella: was nice, a bit too heavy on peas for my taste but overall I'd say the best dish we've had this evening. But also a 7/10 max. Mussels in white wine sauce: i wished for it to be more creamy or somewhat more special, was too boring for me. The caterpillar fish dish in red soupy white wine tomato base had only small amounts of fish. Steak: Not sure why it's on the menu, you could make better steak at home. Overall portions are not as big and for price value I'd expect more. Taste wise it's ok but not wow. Not something I'd come back for or would crave. read more

I should have known better than to visit a Spanish restaurant in Berlin a week after visiting Spain but the choice was due to my dining companions. The service here was slow but that is to be expected in Europe in general since most restaurants seem to start cooking after the order without any prep work done beforehand. Our waiter was slow though in refilling our drinks or taking our drink orders. I had a vegetarian paella that was bland and lacking in flavour. Hard to believe that it was 16 euros given the inexpensiveness of the ingredients. Oh well. At least the venue looked good and catered to large groups. I just wish the food was better. read more

After a full day of sightseeing found this great little place to sit and relax. The Sangria was amazing! White wine recommendation was rich buttery flavor and slightly sweet. I went for dinner on the recommendation of a friend who knows how much I like seafood. And I have to say that the seafood here is not too bad, with a huge Spanish influence but they still managed to convey a Portugese flavour to their dishes (mainly by the judicious use of some extra paprika and various dried herbs). The krake (octopus) was quite good, to the point where we stole a krake galicia accidentally from someone else and had to hurriedly re-order it again. The rest of the fish was well-cooked and tasty and one cannot complain at all. It is not quite and will never be the standard of Fischer Fritz, but for the price, it was really very tolerable. What was also a pleasant surprise was the table wine, which was not overpowering or contentious and quite drinkable and very good value at 13 Euro a litre! I had 2 litres before I noticed anything wrong but by then it was, as usual, too late. Oh well. The atmosphere is also quite authentic, done up like a fishing village's taverna, so overall, it is a reasonably-priced place to take your friends for fresh fish. read more

Came here on a whim as my friend and I were visiting Berlin and had finished a massive shopping spree. We looked for something in the area and found this great little Spanish place. The place was about half full around dinner time on a weekend so we were seated immediately. We started with some sangria and were served complimentary bread and garlic aioli. We also received some tiny cocktail shrimps to nibble on as well. For our entrees we decided to share the seafood paella and the seafood cataplana. We were warned that the paella took awhile but we said we didn't mind. We also had plenty of bread and garlic aioli so that helped curb our hunger. That garlic aioli was soon good. We definitely asked for a couple more rounds of bread and aioli to the point I almost wasn't able to finish our paella once it came to our table. Both our entrees were delicious! I think the cataplana is the one that comes in the special clamshell pot, they said it cooks the dish a certain way to maintain the flavors? Whatever the case, it was delicious! The paella was definitely filling and had good chunks of various seafood in it. Will definitely be back whenever I am in Berlin again! read more

Ich war heute mit meiner Freundin dort und wir haben den fünf Tapas Teller bestellt. Die meisten Tapas auf dem Teller kamen aus der Dose z.B. die Bohnen, der Thunfisch, die Artischoken. Das Geflügel kam nicht aus der Dose, sondern war Tiefkühlkost. Was sehr schade ist, dass der Tintenfisch, dessen Name sich das Restaurant bedient, auch aus der Dose kam!!! Nur die Champignons waren frisch gekocht. Am schlimmsten ist, dass alles nicht geschmeckt hat! Der Preis dieses kleinen Tellers war 18 Euro!!! Echt unverschämt für die Qualität und so eine kleine Portion aber was ich sehr gerne bezahlt hätte, wäre der Geschmack gut gewesen. Der Wein und das Brot waren der beste Teil unseres Besuchs. Wir waren letztes Jahr in Barcelona und können mit Sicherheit sagen, dass La Sepia das spanisches Essen und die Tapaskultur beleidigt. Today I ordered a whole red snapper fish, got the fish in pieces, fry and not testy at all. all fishes in the menu priced for about 15 Euro, we were charged only for the fish dish 55 Euro. The waiter told us 1 red snapper cost 70 Euro in Berlin and that he discount it for us, food is madiucer, not testy and it was most expensive price we paid in Berlin, very bad experience, Totally waist of money and time, bed value for your food, The waiter took advantage of us , as we are not from the aria. . So many others good restaurants and so much cheaper, NOT RECOMMENDED RESTAURANT . read more
